Choosing between a niche equipment provider and a diversified industry **** an requires balancing high growth potential against established stability. Here is how Aehr Test Systems (NASDAQ:AEHR) and KLA (NASDAQ:KLAC) compare for investors.
Aehr Test Systems focuses on specific stress-testing solutions for power semiconductors and memory, while KLA provides broad process control tools used across the entire chip-making industry. While they both operate in the same sector, their scale and risk profiles differ significantly, making them attractive to different types of portfolios.
Aehr Test Systems designs and sells specialized equipment for the testing and stabilization of semiconductor products in various forms, including wafers and singulated dies. The company focuses on the high-growth silicon carbide market for electric vehicles and high-bandwidth memory for artificial intelligence infrastructure. In its 2026 fiscal year (FY), which ended May 29, its five largest customers accounted for nearly 70% of net sales, and customer concentration like this adds a layer of risk to the business.
In FY 2026, revenue reached $50.0 million, representing a decline of 15.2% compared to the previous year. This contraction followed a period of higher operating costs, resulting in a net loss of $7.1 million for the period. The net margin, which represents the percentage of revenue remaining as profit after all expenses, was -14.3% in the latest fiscal year.
As of its May 2026 balance sheet, the debt-to-equity ratio is zero, indicating that the company has no debt relative to its shareholder equity. The current ratio, which measures a company's ability to cover short-term liabilities with short-term **** ets, is 10.3x. Free cash flow, defined as cash from operations minus capital expenditures, was a negative $5.4 million for the fiscal year ended in May.

It seems too early to read this yet, with a major Fed catalyst due out this afternoon, but as of Tuesday, Sept. 15, roughly over half of the Russell 3000 Index – some 1,613 components! – have a "sell" signal from Barchart's TrendSeeker® indicator.
The broad-based Russell 3000 seeks to measure roughly 3,000 of the largest publicly traded U.S. companies, and it represents about $80 trillion in market cap as of the June 2026 annual rebalancing. That's 98% of the publicly traded market, give or take.

Management is deliberately shifting the business model toward a more diversified energy company by balancing legacy long-life non-operated ******* ets with high-margin mineral and royalty interests.
The fourth quarter recovery was driven by the roll-off of temporary operational items, increased production, and improved operating costs per barrel, which more than doubled adjusted EBITDA sequentially.
Portfolio resilience was demonstrated by stronger liquids pricing and improved operations offsetting persistent natural gas pricing headwinds and regional differentials.
The company maintains a 'steady as she goes' outlook for oil demand while anticipating long-term natural gas demand growth from LNG expansion and data center power needs.

Choosing between Advance Auto Parts (NYSE:AAP) and Intuitive Machines (NASDAQ:LUNR) requires balancing the steady but challenged automotive retail sector against the high-stakes, high-growth arena of ******* e infrastructure.
Advance Auto Parts operates as a massive retailer for vehicle maintenance, while Intuitive Machines focuses on lunar landers and orbital services. These two businesses represent very different risk-to-reward profiles for 2026 portfolios.
Advance Auto Parts operates as an automotive aftermarket parts retailer, serving both everyday do-it-yourselfers and professional installers like garages or dealerships. In its latest annual report, filed for the fiscal year ended January 3, 2026, the company noted it operates over 4,000 stores across North America. As an established player among retail stocks, its strategy relies on balancing these two customer bases, with professional sales accounting for nearly 50% of its total revenue.
In FY 2025, revenue reached $8.6 billion, representing a revenue decline of roughly 5.4% compared to the previous year. Despite this decline, the company reported a net income of $44.0 million. This resulted in a thin net margin, a measure of how much profit a company keeps from its total sales, of about 0.5%.
As of its January 2026 balance sheet, the debt-to-equity ratio was 2.4x. This ratio measures total debt against shareholder equity, with a higher number suggesting more reliance on borrowing. The so-called current ratio, which tracks the ability to pay short-term debts with short-term ******* ets, was 1.7x. Free cash flow, defined as cash from operations minus capital expenditures, was negative $298.0 million for the year.

Conagra Brands, Inc. (NYSE:CAG) faces a governance test alongside its turnaround. Reuters reported on September 7 that Institutional Shareholder Services, or ISS, recommended opposing executive compensation, citing weak financial performance and inadequately explained incentive targets.
The September 23 non-binding advisory vote covers fiscal 2026 named-executive compensation. It does not separately approve new CEO John Brase's package. Brase succeeded Sean Connolly on June 1, after fiscal 2026 ended, separating his compensation arrangements from the prior year's pay decisions.
The proxy lists Brase's annual base salary at $1.15 million, his annual incentive target at 150% of eligible salary, and annual long-term incentives of $7.3 million, split 60% into performance shares and 40% into restricted stock units. Incentive opportunities are not guaranteed realized pay.
Conagra Brands, Inc. (NYSE:CAG) needs executives willing to work through changes whose benefits may take several years to appear. Brase's priorities include restoring margins, investing in brands and the supply chain, simplifying operations, and rebalancing capital allocation.
A mix of performance awards and service-based equity can support that effort. Performance shares link rewards to results, while restricted units help retain leaders through disruption. Retention has value if it allows management to complete difficult changes instead of optimizing the next quarterly result.

On September 2, NetApp Inc. (NASDAQ:NTAP) reported its Q1 FY27 results, posting record quarterly net revenue of $2.03 billion. Topline for the Intelligent Data Infrastructure company expanded by 30% compared to the first quarter in FY26. The quarter saw a broad-based growth across its core segments, resulting in a record adjusted earnings per share of $2.58, and a quarterly cash dividend of $0.52 per share. The company also strengthened its existing engagements with major players, covering a range of underlying functions.
During the first quarter, all-flash array net revenue went up 47% year-over-year, hitting a record $1.3 billion mark. This drove the overall net revenue for its Hybrid Cloud segment to $1.8 billion, translating into a 30% year-over-year growth. Public Cloud, which accounts for a smaller chunk of the business, saw its net revenue climb by 28%, also setting a record of $206 million. NetApp's total billings clocked in at $2.06 billion, exhibiting a 36% growth compared to Q1 FY26, while its non-GAAP operating margin reached 31.9%.
During the quarter, NetApp finalized the acquisition of an AI-enabled data infrastructure business, DataPelago. The deal is aimed toward facilitating customers streamline and accelerate large-scale AI deployments. On the product front, the company launched StorageGRID 12.1, to support scaling of AI workload through a federated global namespace. It also introduced Instaclustr for its fully managed Model Context Protocol Gateway, along with enhanced support for Azure NetApp Files up to 64 TiB.
NetApp also revealed new features for NetApp Trident software 26.06. These include deeper integration of OpenShift Virtualization, non-disruptive iSCSI rebalancing, efficient volume placement, and additional cloud support.
Despite encouraging numbers reported during the quarter, the free cash flows settled at $401 million. This was a 35% drop compared to figures reported for Q1 FY26. Additionally, NetApp remains heavily dependent on its Hybrid Cloud business, which generated roughly 90% of quarterly revenue, while Public Cloud still contributes a relatively small fraction of the topline despite growing 28% during the recent quarter. This leads to concerns regarding how much of the company's growth story is truly cloud-native compared to conventional on-premises hardware refresh cycles that are strongly tied to AI infrastructure investments. For the underlying all-flash arrays, such AI-linked demand trend could prove to be front-loaded or cyclical in case enterprise capital expenditure decelerates.

Whether Brian Brobbey and Wilson Isidor can partner each other without unbalancing the Sunderland team has been the subject of several questions sent in via our Black Cats Ask me Anything form.
We were granted our first opportunity to see whether the pairing of Brobbey and Isidor will or could work in the home match against Fulham.
It is hard to say definitively, but on the evidence of that short cameo, I'd suggest there is no reason to think it couldn't work.
Isidor, of course, firmly believes it could but a lot depends on the balance of the team and how the likes of Enzo le Fee and Nilson Angulo are deployed.
It may well be something Regis le Bris is happier to try at the Stadium of Light, where there is a greater emphasis on the home team attacking than in away matches.

Calendar dates are not supposed to matter in efficient markets. Stock prices should reflect a company's cash flows, as well as sentiment toward macroeconomic variables such as interest rates. The fact that Labor Day is right around the corner shouldn't matter. Yet for nearly a century, one month has exhibited a noticeably different pattern from the rest of the year.
September is the only month in which the S&P 500 (SNPINDEX: ^GSPC) has posted a negative long-run average return, down roughly 1.1% between 1928 and 2025. While there is no single reason for September's historical weakness, much of the declines are attributed to portfolio managers returning from summer vacations and rebalancing their portfolios. This means liquidity that had thinned out during July and August has to absorb new selling pressure.
Missed Nvidia in 2009? This Rare Signal Is Flashing Again. In 2009, a "Double Down" signal flashed for a little-known chipmaker called Nvidia. For the first time in years, that same "Total Conviction" signal is flashing for a company 1/100th the size of Nvidia. Continue »
Investors should care because the September Effect is influential enough to manifest in even the most crowded growth trades. Let's explore what that could mean for artificial intelligence (AI) stocks.
One practical reason to notice patterns around September is concentration risk. When a handful of richly valued growth stocks dominate the S&P 500, a seasonally weak month can turn into a harsher de-risking event rather than a gentle period of digestion. That is the setting in which AI stocks now sit. More specifically, the largest AI companies, known as the "Magnificent Seven" -- Nvidia, Apple, Alphabet, Microsoft, Amazon, Tesla, and Meta Platforms -- now make up nearly 34% of the S&P 500's value.

Tiger Global Management made a dramatic-looking second-quarter rotation within AI. Its August 14 filing showed the fund cutting Alphabet Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOGL) by 45.4%, from 10.63 million shares to 5.81 million, while opening a position in Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMD). The trade shifts some exposure from a giant platform funding AI infrastructure to a chip supplier seeking share within it. Yet Alphabet remained a large holding, so this is better understood as rebalancing than abandonment.
A financial ****** yst presenting a chart of insurance solutions to a boardroom.
Alphabet Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOGL) still has a formidable bull case. Google Cloud grew 82%, and the company can distribute AI across search, advertising, productivity software, and enterprise services. Its models, custom chips, data, and global user base create several paths to returns. The bear case is the cost and uncertainty of defending those businesses. Capital spending is surging while AI answers may alter search economics and regulators challenge the platform's advantages.
Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMD) provides a more focused route to the same demand. Its second-quarter revenue rose 50%, with data-center revenue up 107%, as Instinct accelerators and EPYC processors gained momentum. If hyperscalers insist on multiple suppliers, AMD can grow faster than total AI spending. It also faces the harder competitive task: Nvidia's software ecosystem remains dominant, and customers developing internal chips can limit the merchant opportunity.
The filing changes the composition of Tiger's reported positions, but it does not disclose why the fund made either move. Alphabet owns demand and distribution but must prove huge investments strengthen its core economics. AMD sells into that investment wave but must win deployments against powerful alternatives. One can benefit from lower chip prices while the other needs sufficient pricing and share. Holding both, even at different weights, captures the expansion while acknowledging that value may migrate across the stack. The next confirmation should come from cloud margins and accelerator deployment growth rather than portfolio symbolism.

Cheniere Energy, Inc. (NYSE:LNG) is substantially completing the Corpus Christi Stage 3 expansion, with contractor Bechtel handing over the seventh and final liquefaction train. The project adds more than 10 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of LNG capacity, lifting Cheniere's overall production capacity to roughly 56 mtpa, an increase of more than 20%.
The timing is favorable because Cheniere is entering a period of higher production while global LNG demand remains strong. In its latest quarterly results, Cheniere raised its 2026 adjusted EBITDA guidance to $7.9 billion-$8.4 billion, from $7.25 billion-$7.75 billion previously. The company also said it expects higher exports as its expansion projects ramp up. The company is not finished expanding Corpus Christi. It is also developing Midscale Trains 8 and 9, while the U.S. Energy Department has authorized additional exports from those trains.
The biggest positive is that Cheniere now has additional LNG capacity coming online at an established export facility. The completion of Stage 3 allows Cheniere to increase volumes without having to build an entirely new LNG terminal from scratch. The company expects increased exports next year as it benefits from a full year of production from its expansion projects. That creates a relatively straightforward growth path: more LNG volumes can generate more revenue, while the existing infrastructure and long-term commercial arrangements can support attractive cash generation.
Cheniere Energy, Inc. (NYSE:LNG) is positioned to benefit from continued growth in LNG consumption, particularly in Europe and Asia. U.S. LNG deliveries to Asia reached a quarterly record of 11 million metric tons in Q2 2026, while Cheniere continues to see strong demand and competitive pricing in new contract negotiations. The company's scale also gives it an advantage as global buyers seek reliable LNG supplies. The U.S. has become the world's largest LNG exporter, with Cheniere playing a central role in that export growth.
The completion of Stage 3 further increases the gap between Cheniere and competing U.S. LNG exporters. The project takes Corpus Christi's production capabilities to a much higher level and gives Cheniere greater exposure to international LNG demand. This scale can also improve the company's ability to serve customers across different markets and capture attractive destination pricing. Cheniere has historically used strong cash generation to return capital to shareholders while continuing to invest in expansion. The company is balancing shareholder returns with investments in additional production capacity.

Rahway, New Jersey-based Merck & Co., Inc. (MRK) is a global research-driven biopharmaceutical company focused on developing medicines, vaccines, and animal-health products. Known as MSD outside the U.S. and Canada, Merck operates through two main businesses: Pharmaceuticals and Animal Health. Valued at a market cap of $297 billion, its pharmaceutical portfolio spans oncology, vaccines, cardiometabolic disease, infectious diseases, and other therapeutic areas.
Companies with a market cap of $200 billion or more are typically referred to as "mega-cap stocks." It fits right into that category, with its market cap exceeding this threshold, reflecting its substantial size and influence in the general drug manufacturers industry. Merck combines a dominant oncology franchise, a broad vaccine portfolio, an expanding pipeline of newer medicines, and a large animal-health business. Emma Thynn, Marchioness of Bath, has built a public life that stretches far beyond her aristocratic ****** le. Born Emma Claire McQuiston, she became the Marchioness of Bath after marrying Ceawlin Thynn, the 8th Marquess of Bath. Raised around British high society, Emma developed interests in art, performance and culture from an early age. She later studied art history at University College London and trained in classical acting at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art before pursuing a different creative path.
Food eventually became one of her major passions. At Longleat, the historic estate ****** ociated with the Thynn family, Emma created her food and lifestyle project Emma's Kitchen. Her cooking content includes everything from pancakes to homemade dishes inspired by life at the estate. The project allows her to combine hospitality, family traditions and creativity, showing a more relaxed side of life that contrasts with the formal events and glamorous appearances often ****** ociated with aristocracy.
Emma is also involved in charitable work and has supported Tusk, an organization dedicated to wildlife conservation across Africa. Her public profile has allowed her to draw attention to conservation while balancing responsibilities connected with family, fashion and Longleat. That variety is a major part of her appeal. One day may involve cooking or supporting a charitable cause, while another can place her in front of photographers at an international event.
Fashion remains another important part of Emma's career. She has attended the Cannes Film Festival, worked with luxury jeweler Chopard and appeared in elaborate gowns and jewelry on major red carpets. Emma has also walked in fashion shows for designers including Dolce & Gabbana and Celia Kritharioti. Her relationship with fashion has extended into ambassador and editorial work, allowing her to experience the industry from more than one perspective. Whether attending a premiere or stepping onto a runway, she appears comfortable treating clothing as another form of creative expression.
From aristocratic events and conservation projects to cooking and international fashion, Emma Thynn has created a career that refuses to fit neatly into one category. Her life at Longleat provides a traditional backdrop, but her interests have taken her into food, publishing, modeling and philanthropy. Rather than relying solely on her ****** le, she has developed a public identity built around creativity and variety, making an ordinary day in the life of the Marchioness of Bath surprisingly difficult to define.

Building a portfolio that can produce better returns than the S&P 500 (SNPINDEX: ^GSPC) with less volatility is the exact thing that dozens of fund managers get paid huge sums of money to do. Unfortunately, most of them fall short of that benchmark once you account for their fees.
But you might not have to spend a lot to put together a portfolio that can achieve that goal. And it doesn't require complicated strategic balancing of individual stocks or sector ETFs. A simple 50/50 split between two ETFs has produced higher annual returns over multiple periods in the last thirty years, with lower annualized volatility over the long run and smaller maximum drawdowns than the S&P 500.

Direct hyperscaler sales totaled $49 billion, up 13% sequentially. ACIE, covering AI cloud providers, industrial customers, enterprises and sovereign buyers, reached $40 billion after 25% sequential growth and 138% year-over-year growth. Management expects ACIE to drive most of next quarter's Data Center growth before hyperscale reaccelerates as Vera Rubin supply improves. That is a striking rebalancing for a company long described as dependent on a handful of technology giants.

Aston Villa's summer planning has taken another intriguing turn, with Athletic reporting that the club have "made an approach to Bayer Leverkusen for striker Christian Kofane". It is a move that says plenty about the market Villa are working in, and even more about the uncertainty surrounding Ollie Watkins.
According to the report, Villa are "long-standing admirers of the 20-year-old, with interest pre-dating his transfer to Leverkusen in 2025". That line matters. This does not read like a rushed reaction to a difficult week, it feels more like a name already established on the club's internal list, now pushed forward by events.
The central issue remains Watkins. The report states he "has made clear he wishes to join Al Hilal", a significant development for a player who has carried so much of Villa's attacking burden. Villa's stance, for now, is firm. "Last week, Villa rejected a fourth offer worth £45million for the 30-year-old and do not wish to sell him." Even so, the article adds that "Villa are stepping up contingency plans, with Kofane among the options to replace Watkins."

Leverkusen's position appears equally clear. They "do not wish to sell Kofane and do not intend to do so after club-to-club contact was made by Villa." That leaves Villa in a familiar transfer-market balancing act, admiration on one side, resistance on the other.

Steve Cohen made his fortune by being right when other people were comfortable being wrong. The Point72 founder runs one of the most data-intensive multi-manager platforms in the world.
So when he makes an 188% increase in one position and a 55% cut in another simultaneously, to me, that is not portfolio rebalancing — but a thesis change.
The Q2 2026 13F filing tells us the story. Cohen sold 1.24 million Broadcom shares, cutting his position by 55%, while purchasing 2.23 million additional Oracle shares, lifting his stake by 188% to 3.41 million shares worth approximately $499.82 million.
Point72's portfolio sits at $88.13 billion across 3,859 holdings with a 27% turnover rate, according to GuruFocus.
This is Cohen's answer to a question every AI investor is asking right now: Which company makes more money from the next phase of the build-out?

As years and seasons pass, the modern NFL becomes increasingly obsessed with disguise. Coaches and their coordinators spend countless hours searching for ways to confuse quarterbacks, hide intentions, and create pre-snap hesitation. The challenge, however, is that complexity can become a double-edged sword. A defense that confuses opponents can sometimes confuse the players who execute it.
That balancing act is something the Baltimore Ravens have been working through during training camp. Eric DeCosta and company have ***** embled a unit filled with versatile players who can line up in multiple spots. Jesse Minter and Anthony Weaver are charged with teaching players to handle a variety of responsibilities.
The more flexibility a defense possesses, the more options coaches have at their disposal. The question becomes how to maximize that versatility without overwhelming the players expected to execute it. Recently, Ravens defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver spoke with reporters and was asked about the ripple effects of having so many defenders capable of moving around the formation.
"The ripple effect for the players, I think, is you have to have a very smart team — because if you are going to move guys around, ultimately that means other guys are going to have to do different jobs, too."
Weaver's answer offered an interesting look at the philosophy guiding Baltimore's defensive approach. That comment highlights an often-overlooked aspect of defensive football. Versatility isn't just about one player learning multiple positions.

Choosing between precious metals and critical rare earths requires balancing traditional mining stability against high-tech growth potential. Is First Majestic Silver Corp (NYSE:AG) or MP Materials Corp (NYSE:MP) the better addition for your portfolio today?
First Majestic focuses on maximizing silver and gold production through underground mining operations in North America. MP Materials provides the materials necessary for electric vehicles and defense systems. Both companies operate within the metal stocks industry, yet they offer very different financial profiles for investors looking toward 2026.
First Majestic Silver focuses on mining silver and gold within Mexico and the United States. It operates four primary underground mines, including San Dimas, Santa Elena, La Encantada, and Los Gatos. The company manages a workforce of more than 5,100 employees to supply physical metals to global markets. Customer concentration is not disclosed as a significant factor in its latest annual report, filed for the most recent fiscal period.
In FY 2025, revenue reached nearly $1.3 billion (the company reports in Canadian dollars; they have been converted to U.S. dollars here), representing a significant growth of approximately 128% compared to the prior year. This sharp increase helped the company achieve net income of close to $168 million, a major improvement from the net loss reported in FY 2024. The net margin, which measures the percentage of revenue kept as profit, stood at roughly 13% for the period.
As of its December 2025 balance sheet, the debt-to-equity ratio is approximately 0.1x. This ratio shows that for every dollar of shareholder equity, the company has roughly ten cents in total debt. The so-called current ratio, which measures the ability to pay short-term bills, is close to 2.6x. Free cash flow, which is cash from operations minus capital spending, reached approximately $352 million during the year.
