ATLANTA – Call it nerves, call it fatigue, call it championship anxiety, call it all of the above. Whatever was going on with the Golden State Valkyries in the first quarter of their 80-69 loss to the Atlanta Dream in Game 6 of the WNBA Finals, something wasn't right.
Their offense, which had had the juice and the fight the last two games to overcome the inefficient nature of how it functions, came out far too careful and tepid as the Dream blew up every on-ball screen they tried to set. Their defense, which has been the driving force of their magical run to the Finals, got torched. Atlanta rained down bucket after bucket as they shot 11-of-15 from the field and 6-of-8 from beyond the arc in the opening period, justifying the thunderous home crowd's decision to call out sick from work to watch their team shine.
Didn't matter that they eventually amped up their ball pressure and started forcing the Dream into some lazy passes. Gradison told a conference for psychedelics enthusiasts this month that he is eager to ramp up the VA's capacity to give the drugs to as many as 2.1 million veterans with mental illnesses like post-traumatic stress disorder or depression. Gradison said 6.4 million veterans regularly rely on the VA for care.

With less than two weeks left in the regular season for the New Jersey non-public schools (public schools end this week), it's safe to say nothing has been decided when it comes to the playoff seeds.
Remember, the non-public A and B playoffs in New Jersey are seeded by a committee, not power points/OSI magic. It's a small committee made up of representatives from across the state.
And I want to be clear about something else: This is how I think the seeding committee will do it. This isn't necessarily how I would do it. In years past, the committee has strongly favored head-to-head outcomes, not full resumes or tradition or injuries or anything like that. Once again, there is no written criteria. It's people in a room talking football at NJSIAA Headquarters in Robbinsville.
However, this year, the committee may have no choice but to look at a lot of other factors other than head-to-head. Why? Because the head-to-head results don't make sense.
Who do you seed where with Seton Hall Prep beating St. Joe's who beat St. Peter's who beat Seton Hall Prep? And by the way, Seton Hall Prep lost to Pope John.

Foden's had struck 27 times for Manchester City alone in 2023-24. Yet when Ipswich arrived at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday, his drought spanned 35 games for City, plus two for England that may have cost him a place at the World Cup.
But there are two Fodens. Maresca remembered the teenage prodigy, the player who had won the individual awards, the seeming generational talent before he became the goal-shy City substitute. "With Phil I said many times, I know him from years ago, for me he's one of the best Premier League players," said the City manager, who had worked with Foden in his previous times at the Etihad Stadium. Daniel Farke wasn't having it that Leeds United were the favourites for this game but there was nothing he could do about the level of expectation around his club going into it.
Last season Leeds drew this fixture 1-1 and then in April claimed their first league win at Old Trafford since 1981. Being truly competitive in the Premier League in both the post-promotion campaign and so far this term allowed supporters not only to dream of Elland Road glory on Sunday afternoon but perhaps even to expect it. Throw in the narrative surrounding the visitors given all that has transpired there of late and at the very least it felt like a big chance.
Yet if reality was to meet expectation, the first half did not make it immediately obvious. A frenetic first few minutes was as anticipated. Ethan Ampadu, leading the team out for the 100th time as captain, was at the heart of an aggressive start. He set the tone by levelling Carlos Baleba to concede one free-kick, then caught Bryan Mbeumo on the ankle to concede another, somehow without seeing yellow.
Neither Bruno Fernandes nor Gabriel Gudmundsson got away with their early transgressions, however. So it was tetchy and fractious, but the play that was punctuated by fouls was largely in the home side's favour. For almost three decades Lucy Wilkinson has dedicated her life to making children laugh as a professional clown.
Lucy, better known as "Louby Lou", said her passion for clown life began when she started helping her father Arnold Cheetham, aka Trumble the Clown, at local shows as a child.
"I fell in love with the laughter, joy and magic that came from entertaining kids," she said. "It was back then that I knew this was my calling."
The father-daughter entertainment duo from Wigan is the focus of a new short documentary film Where Laughter Lives, which tells the story of life of the clowning family across the decades.

Nate Bargatze had barely four hours of sleep when he took the stage at the Ford Accelerate conference at Michigan Central Station in Detroit.
It was about 9 a.m. on Sept. 30 and the comedian was there to co-host the second-year of the event with Ford Motor Co. CEO Jim Farley. Bargatze is the new face in a Ford ad campaign touting the advantages that Ford vehicle owners get by using Ford's dealership service lanes rather than third-party service centers. Ford Accelerate is a gathering of hundreds of business and community leaders who discuss ways to get more people interested in skilled trades jobs, such as auto service technicians.
"I don't even know what time it is," Bargatze told the Detroit Free Press a couple of hours after he welcomed the crowd. His handler remarked that it wasn't yet noon. "It's not noon?! It could be four, five ... I don't know. We got in late last night because I had a show in Mississippi and then ... it was four hours sleep. But I feel great. It's been fun."
The ride for Bargatze, 47, has indeed been fun — and a lot of hard work.
He rose from humble roots in Old Hickory, Tennessee, a factory town about 15 miles northeast of Nashville known for its DuPont plant. More than a month after moving back to his native U.K. with wife Meghan Markle and their two children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, "Harry is running from one gig to the next," spills the source. "At the same time, he's working all his contacts to find other opportunities, and not just for himself — he wants to open doors for Meghan too. He promised her he would."

The pair first got their start as individual online creators on the now-defunct social media platform Vine, then met on Snapchat and began their now years-long journey to build their own social media empire.
Since first connecting and building their careers and family together, the pair's online reach has spiraled. They're best known for their family YouTube vlogs, which they create with a core mission of making "screen time family time again." Despite their over 65 million followers, the pair are adamant they don't want to lose the magic that helped them build their platform.
