Fiorentina have made an approach for Jadon Sancho following his Manchester United exit. The 26-year-old winger was on loan at Aston Villa last season, yet despite being part of the Europa League-winning squad, he couldn't convince United to offer a new deal.
Now, a shock offer seems to be on its way to the free agent, as Fiorentina are keen to table a three-year deal. La Viola's sporting director Fabio Paratici has allegedly been a Sancho admirer for a while, yet the terms on offer will certainly have to be lower than the €10 million net total the former England international earned until last season.
Sancho hasn't yet given a response, but his team will be ready to resolve any concerns in the coming hours. Last year, he turned down a move to Roma, as Gian Piero Gasperini expressly asked Frederic Massara for him. While he chose to stay in the Premier League for the remainder of that term, it now looks like he'll leave England.
Jadon Sancho has been something of a frustrating figure for English football. His rising status took him from the academies of Watford and Manchester City, before he became a poster boy for a British generation trying their hand abroad.
Moving to Borussia Dortmund at the age of 18 in August 2017, Sancho hit the ground running the following season. Flare-filled performances and a plethora of eye-catching goals saw the young Englishman go on to amass 50 all-competition goals in 137 appearances in yellow and black.

However, he has to accept a significant salary decrease if he wants to return to Signal Iduna Park (Westfalenstadion). It’s still unclear whether the Bundesliga side are planning to proceed with the signing.
Sancho joined Manchester United for a reported €85 million fee from Dortmund five years ago. However, he has now left the club as a free agent after a disappointing spell with the English giants. He last played regularly for Manchester United during the 2022/23 campaign.
Since then, he reached all three European finals with Borussia Dortmund, Chelsea and Aston Villa on loan deals. Unai Emery’s side are closing on signing Sancho’s former teammate Alejandro Garnacho, which ended any hopes of a permanent transfer to Aston Villa for the player who featured in 39 games last season.

Manchester United are set for a major boost following Chelsea's ruthless decision regarding the future of Alejandro Garnacho, according to a new report.
Garnacho, 22, joined Chelsea last summer after an explosive fallout with then-head coach Ruben Amorim, with the Blues agreeing to pay £40 million for the Argentina international. The pair clashed over the Portuguese tactician's decision to start Mason Mount ahead of him for the Europa League final against Tottenham Hotspur, a match which ended in a disappointing 1-0 defeat for the Red Devils.
In a post-match interview at the San Mamés Stadium in Bilbao, Garnacho claimed he would be reassessing his future at Old Trafford after being dropped. This led Amorim to tell him he was free to leave in front of the entire squad in a meeting after flying back to Manchester.
Alongside Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Antony and Tyrell Malacia, Garnacho was placed in the infamous 'bomb squad', made to train separately from the first team as the club sought permanent exits for each member.
There was serious interest from Italy, spearheaded by Napoli, but the winger was intent on sealing a switch to Stamford Bridge, with Chelsea having expressed interest in the January 2025 transfer window.

Obviously, the one we'd all want to rejoin is Mo Salah, but that ain't happening either. As for a player who Liverpool have been linked to but I wouldn't want to join, I'd say Bradley Barcola, not because of the player we'd be getting - because I'd love to see him here - but because of the asking price. PSG have overpriced him and I don't want Liverpool spending another £100m on a player after Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz, who have both struggled.

To make it happen, Freund says that those select few clubs in Germany who can be considered true competitors to the Bavarians are simply going to have to beat Bayern Munich to signing young talent — and then developing it into a formidable contender to the crown.

“At the moment, no. I still think Bayern will grow, and they’re not finished. You can feel that under Kompany, they want to win the Champions League now. They’ve won the double, and they’re unstoppable in Germany. Now they will go for the Champions League, and you can feel the hunger. So, it will be difficult to catch Bayern because their style of football is too good. The players individually are too good, and they’re sticking together as a team. Kompany has built a team with so much individual class that they still work hard together,” Freund told Betway. “But take Borussia Dortmund as an example, as they are the closest team to Bayern in Germany. They need to sign two or three good players to make the next step. I’m not saying they can spend like Premier League teams, but they are close, and they don’t have to go only for a real youngster for €1m or €2m.

“That’s why I think you need a really good scouting system to find the likes of (Erling) Haaland and Jadon Sancho again. But Borussia Dortmund’s academy also has great players like Samuele Inacio. Maybe he will make the step-up next season, but you have to find a balance. If you find the players that want to grow with the club and enjoy the Dortmund atmosphere, then maybe they can get a little bit closer to Bayern. But even then, that may mean you have to sell him anyway because he is too good. So overall, it’s a difficult situation for all the clubs in Germany behind Bayern Munich.”

TORONTO (AP) — Angel Reese had 15 points and 17 rebounds — which included a career-high 11 offensive, one short of tying the WNBA single-game record — and the Atlanta Dream beat the Toronto Tempo 102-77 on Sunday.
Reese, who came in averaging 14.6 points and a league-leading 11.9 rebounds, has nine double-doubles this season and 59 in her career, the most in WNBA history through 76 games. Reese, acquired April 6 from Chicago in a trade for two first-round picks, has 17 rebounds in three of the past four games.
Reese's 11 offensive rebounds were one shy of the franchise mark set by Sancho Lyttle, who shares the WNBA’s single-game record with Glory Johnson, Nneka Ogwumike and Cheryl Ford.
