Adobe Inc. (NASDAQ:ADBE) is asking designers who use Figma, Inc. (NYSE:FIG) and similar tools to help test Project Oasis, a web-based graphic-design tool with brand-aware AI. The September 7 community invitation seeks feedback under a nondisclosure agreement before public launch. That makes it an early competitive signal, with neither customer wins nor meaningful revenue established.
The investment question is whether easier AI design draws marketing budgets toward Adobe or encourages customers to do more inside Figma. Both already serve people creating branded visual material. Winning that workflow could support subscriptions and paid AI usage, but another tool also gives customers another reason to compare prices.
Copyright: photogearch / 123RF Stock Photo
Adobe Inc. (NASDAQ:ADBE) reported fiscal second-quarter revenue of $6.62 billion, up 13%, for the period ended May 29. Its AI-first annualized recurring revenue exceeded $500 million and more than tripled year over year. Those figures give its AI strategy substance beyond a product invitation. Its established creative customer base could also make testing and distribution easier.
The risk is that product experimentation fails to produce additional spending. Adobe must persuade customers that new capabilities deserve payment while competitors make basic ******* et creation easier. Oasis currently provides no disclosed conversion rate or financial contribution with which investors can test that proposition. Its invitation targets brand-identity and marketing workflows, so success would need to solve repeatable production problems. Generating an attractive demonstration is a different hurdle from becoming the tool a team pays to use every week.

It looks like the American consumer has more to worry about than food recalls and cyclospora—a new study found that even the packaging the food comes in may pose some health concerns.
Out of over 15,000 food contact chemicals (FCCs), 1,222 or 8% can pose serious health risks, according to a recent study published in the peer-reviewed journal Environmental Science & Technology. Some of these FCCs, which in general are "substances that come into contact with food, such as through food packaging, processing, storage or other handling," per the FDA, were found to be hazardous to human health.
Researchers from the nonprofit Food Packaging Forum Foundation, which conducted the study, found at least 2,160 chemicals regularly contact food and "migrate into foodstuffs." Using guidelines from the UN's Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS), researchers found some of the chemicals related to food packaging and other materials were "carcinogenic, mutagenic, toxic to reproduction, harmful to specific organs after repeated exposure, [and] endocrine disrupting."
That's not the only concerning part. The researchers found that 13,211 of the 15,159 known food-contact chemicals lacked harmonized hazard data. That means the scientists could not determine from the available data whether those chemicals met the study's criteria for being hazardous.
"There's a lot of ways of establishing whether something is hazardous or not, and some methods are based very much just on computer models, looking at the structure, predicting something. And others are based on in vitro tests," Dr. Helene Wiesinger, scientific communication officer at the nonprofit and one of the researchers on the study, told Fortune. "And in some sense, the data that we used?' So this is the data we used, and the problem we ran into at that point was that there were huge data lags."

Eminem's ex-wife Kim Mathers is reportedly not behind bars and is now in treatment amid her legal troubles.
On Thursday, September 10, The U.S. Sun reported that Kim, 51 — who has struggled with substance abuse over the years — was released from jail in Michigan as the Macomb County Prosecutor's Office confirmed she "is no longer in custody at the Macomb County Jail."

UFC legend Diego Sanchez has been arrested once again.
Sanchez, 44, was arrested and booked Monday at 5:17 p.m. local time in Socorro, N.M. on two charges: aggravated driving under the influence and probation violation, according to online jail records. Local news outlet KOB4 first reported the news.
No further details about the arrest have become available at this time.
Sanchez was sentenced to five years of supervised probation in March after a July 2025 arrest for shooting a loaded gun out of the window of a car while riding in the passenger seat on the highway. Prosecutors had requested a two-year prison sentence for a fourth-degree felony charge of shooting at or from a motor vehicle. A second charge of negligent use of a deadly weapon was dropped as part of a plea agreement.
Following the judge's decision, Sanchez said he accepted responsibility for the incident and pointed to substance abuse issues and mental health problems, both of which he was seeking help for at the time of the incident, as contributing factors.

Luke Bracey is quickly becoming one of Hollywood's most eligible bachelors — and a source tells Examiner that the Little House on the Prairie star's got a high-profile admirer in none other than Demi Moore!
"The reboot on Netflix has quite suddenly put Luke on a lot of people's radars, including Demi's," reveals the source. "Demi personally has a lot of affection for the source material and the period costuming in both versions of the show are catnip for Demi."
However, "her interest in Luke really boils down to his smoldering good looks," the source admits. "Not only is he exactly the kind of middle-aged hunk she's been looking for, he also has zero ties to Ashton Kutcher's expansive social circle, which is a must for anybody Demi is looking to meet."
The Substance star, 63, split from the That '70s Show alum, 48, in 2011 after eight years of marriage after learning he had cheated on her, per The New York Times.

The 1991 blockbuster sequel Terminator 2: Judgment Day gave Edward Furlong many happy memories. The corresponding fame, not so much.
"Growing up in the spotlight is really hard," Furlong told People in a recent interview. "It's tough enough as an adult to be able to navigate… just being a human being and making mistakes, and whatever, when you got a spotlight on you … it's tough."
Furlong was 13 when he filmed his screen debut in Terminator 2, playing John Connor, son of Linda Hamilton's Sarah Connor. The actor, now 49, told People that he was "spoiled rotten" to be working with a director as commanding as James Cameron, that costar Arnold Schwarzenegger was "the definition of professional," and that Hamilton made Furlong "that much better being able to act alongside her."
After other screen roles in films including 1992's Pet Sematary Two , 1993's A Home of Our Own, and 1998's American History X, however, Furlong's acting career got sidelined amid substance use and personal troubles.

The wait for the new team format is finally over. The WTGL has officially locked in a start date and a major media rights deal that puts the league on national television. This is a concrete plan to get women's golf in front of millions of viewers, not just another press release. Broadcast rights for the competition have been locked in by TMRW Sports via multi-year agreements with ESPN and Scripps Sports/ION, signaling genuine confidence in the product. Although the complete schedule is still confidential, the league is scheduled to debut on Sunday, Nov. 8. This date aligns with the final round of the LPGA's TOTO ****** an Classic, providing the new league with a high-profile opening night.
Matches and shoulder programming will appear on ABC, ESPN, and ESPN2. On ION, the league joins a strong lineup of women's sports including the WNBA, NWSL, and PWHL. This distribution reaches 128 million homes nationally. It's a massive step up from streaming-only launches. The deal mirrors the success of the men's TGL, which ESPN has called home since its inaugural 2024-25 season. The infrastructure is ready. The players are set. Now the cameras just need to roll.
According to reports, the announcement came just two days after WTGL revealed the official rosters for the league's five teams. November will mark the league's start at the SoFi Center located in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. The regular season runs through November and December with a round-robin format. The postseason features single-elimination semifinals and a best-of-three finals. This structure creates a clear path to a champion, forcing teams to think about how they win a series rather than just a single tournament.
The broadcast partners are already on board. "We are genuinely excited to be the home for WTGL as it launches its inaugural season this fall," said Rosalyn Durant, executive vice president, programming and acquisitions, in a release. She added that bringing the league to fans continues a commitment to growing women's sports and supports the belief in the momentum of women's golf. While production details, the on-air talent list, and the full schedule are set for later announcement, the platform is ready.
The roster depth is significant. An inaugural season field of 25 players has been established by the league, comprising individuals with 112 LPGA Tour victories and 15 major championships. However, the real story is the format. Just three players from every five-player roster are eligible to compete in a match. Before the shot clock starts or the Hammer comes into play, a coach must decide who plays and which two sit. This lineup card determines whether team golf gains substance or merely resembles individual golfers wearing matching shirts.

Golf legend Tiger Woods was arrested in March for yet another vehicular accident. Woods agreed to a Breathalyzer test that showed no signs of alcohol, but he refused a urine test and showed signs of impairment during the ordeal.
Officers found two painkiller pills in his pocket, and he told deputies he had taken "a few" prescription medications earlier that day. Later, Woods pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence and refusal to submit to testing.
Recently, Woods announced he planned to change his not guilty plea, according to court documents filed Tuesday. Woods was scheduled to appear in court on September 8th but is now expected on Wednesday morning for a plea conference.
The golf legend has been involved in a few other crashes over the years, all of which have stunted his illustrious career. In 2021, he survived a crash in Los Angeles so severe that doctors considered amputating his leg. Woods was not charged with any crimes as authorities determined the crash was caused by excessive speed and not impairment. On the other hand, in 2009, Woods crashed into a fire hydrant and a tree outside of his residence around 2:00 a.m. Police suspected Woods was under the influence or impaired by medication, but no actual charges followed.
Woods has had to bow out of golf due to several back surgeries and lower-body injuries that have affected his mobility. As a result, Woods has battled with prescribed substance dependency. As of June, he formally stepped away from the game and traveled outside of the United States to seek treatment at an inpatient treatment facility.

Liverpool have moved early and decisively, completing the signing of teenage goalkeeper Lucca Brughmans from Genk in a deal worth up to £30m. He is 18, stands at 6ft 7in, and has signed a six-year contract. For now, there is no rush. He will stay at Genk on loan for the rest of this season and arrive at Anfield ahead of the 2027-28 campaign.
This is not a transfer driven by short-term need. It is a calculated investment in a specialist position where timing matters. Goalkeepers develop differently, and Liverpool clearly believe Brughmans has the profile to become a serious first-team option down the line. He has already started all four of Genk's games this season and has represented Belgium at youth level, which tells you there is substance behind the fee.
The headline figure is up to £30m, with add-ons built into the agreement. In simple terms, Liverpool are paying for potential, height, reach and projection. In the modern market, elite young goalkeepers are expensive, particularly when clubs think they can become starters for a decade.
There is also logic in the timing. Liverpool currently have Alisson, Giorgi Mamardashvili, Freddie Woodman and Vitezslav Jaros among their goalkeeping options. Alisson's contract expires next summer, while Mamardashvili's longer-term situation remains unclear. Brughmans gives the club another route, and a potentially high-upside one.

WBO president Gustavo Olivieri has categorically denied Hamzah Sheeraz's allegations of corruption after Janibek Alimkhanuly was installed as the mandatory challenger for Sheeraz's WBO super middleweight ******* le.
Alimkhanuly, the former unified middleweight champion, failed a VADA anti-doping test for a banned substance just days before his scheduled three-belt unification with Erislandy Lara this past December.
The fight was canceled, but the WBO later terminated Alimkhanuly's suspension early and has now controversially installed him as Sheeraz's mandatory challanger, despite Alimkhanuly having never competed at 168 pounds.
Sheeraz was unhappy with the WBO's ruling and made his feelings clear in an interview with Uncrowned's Ariel Helwani this past month.
"I think it's a joke," Sheeraz said. "I think what the WBO have done here is disgraceful to the sport of boxing. What they're essentially doing is rewarding someone who has [tested positive], so to me, it doesn't make sense.

HP Inc. (NYSE:HPQ) delivered an unusual combination in its fiscal third quarter: Personal Systems revenue rose 18% year over year to $11.8 billion even though unit shipments fell 16%. The divergence drew scrutiny after the company reported record third-quarter revenue and raised its fiscal 2026 outlook.
Mechanically, the reported changes imply that Personal Systems revenue per unit increased about 40%. However, that is not a clean measure of like-for-like PC pricing. The segment includes services and other attached offerings, while the quarter's mix shifted toward commercial, premium, and AI-enabled machines. HP Inc. (NYSE:HPQ) did not disclose a precise bridge.
The mix shift has substance. AI PCs accounted for 46% of Personal Systems shipment mix, while HP Inc. (NYSE:HPQ) gained 2.6 percentage points of share sequentially in premium categories and 1.8 points sequentially in workstations. Commercial products, which generally carry higher configurations than consumer PCs, generated more than 70% of segment revenue. Revenue rose 22% in commercial Personal Systems and 10% in consumer Personal Systems.
The company is also selling more around the device. Management said peripherals, collaboration products and services such as its Workforce Experience Platform contributed one-third of Personal Systems gross profit. These offerings help explain why segment revenue can rise faster than hardware units without relying entirely on price increases.
Cash generation strengthened the bull case. HP Inc. (NYSE:HPQ) produced $1.7 billion of operating cash flow and $1.6 billion of company-defined free cash flow, after adjustments for lease-related investment and capital spending. The company raised its fiscal-year free-cash-flow outlook to $3.0 billion to $3.2 billion.

NFL free agent Miles Sanders is facing a DUI charge after a June arrest near Pittsburgh in which police say they found the former Pro Bowl running back slumped over behind the wheel of a vehicle stopped in the middle of a highway.
Sanders, 29, was arrested June 8 in Churchill Borough and is charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance and careless driving. TMZ reported the case on Aug. 27 after court records detailing the arrest became public.
The arrest occurred close to where Sanders grew up and played at Woodland Hills High School before attending Penn State. He is currently unsigned after spending the 2025 season with the Dallas Cowboys, where knee and ankle injuries ended his year after four games.
Sanders' attorney has declined to discuss the allegations in detail. The DUI case remains pending, and Sanders has not been convicted of the charge.
An officer found Sanders in the driver's seat of a silver Lexus that was motionless in the middle of William Penn Highway near Beulah Drive, according to the criminal complaint obtained by CBS Pittsburgh. Police said several attempts were made to wake him. The complaint describes Sanders as "in and out of consciousness," "extremely lethargic" and unable or unwilling to answer questions as officers tried to make contact with him.

The Minnesota Vikings have one of the best, and potentially one of the deepest, wide receiver rooms in the NFL. You have Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, and Jauan Jennings as your three-headed monster, and Tai Felton is showing out in training camp.
One member of this wide receiver room will not be with the team in week one because he is facing a suspension.
Vikings wide receiver Jeshaun Jones has been suspended for three games for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy. Jones will be eligible for reinstatement on September 28th. The news broke from NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.
#Vikings WR Jeshaun Jones has been suspended three games for violating the NFL’s substance-abuse policy. Jones will be eligible for reinstatement on Monday, Sept. 28.
Jones, a former undrafted free agent out of Maryland, has been with the Minnesota Vikings since 2024. He has spent the majority of his time on the practice squad, as he has totaled just one appearance in an NFL game, which came last season. With this suspension hitting and the deadline for NFL teams to whittle their rosters down to 53 players, it makes you wonder if Jones' time in Minnesota has come to an end.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's full autopsy report on late Memphis Grizzlies veteran forward and former Phoenix Desert Vista standout Brandon Clarke was released Monday, Aug. 24. Clarke had cocaine, heroin, oxycodone, and multiple other medications "within therapeutic levels," per the report obtained by USA Today Sports.
Clarke's roommate told officials that Clarke had a "history of drug use" and underwent multiple rehabilitation stints for drug addiction, according to the report's synopsis.
Clarke died at his San Fernando Valley residence on May 11. He was 29 years old. The cause of death was an accidental overdose from the "effects of heroin and cocaine" in Clarke's system, which matched the medical examiner's initial statement about Clarke on Aug. 7.
Los Angeles Fire Department officials listed in the incident's early reports that he was found unresponsive and declared dead at the scene.
Drug paraphernalia was found at Clarke's home, according to the synopsis report. That included "vape devices, cannabis products, prescription medications, injectable peptides, syringes, a box of Narcan, blister packets of medications, vitamins and other medical evidence." Also, there was a plate with an "unknown white powdery substance and a hotel keycard" found in the kitchen.

Prince Harry's return to Britain could be about more than family and his children's education. An insider claims his unresolved US immigration status could also make a British base more appealing. Harry and Meghan Markle have said they want to spend more time in the UK for family reasons and to give Archie and Lilibet a British education. However, the ongoing visa controversy has added another part to the story.
The dispute focuses on Harry's admission that he previously used recreational substances and questions about what he disclosed on his US visa application. Harry's representatives have said he was honest during the immigration process, and no public finding has shown that he lied on his application.
However, the issue continues to attract attention because the Heritage Foundation has sought access to Harry's immigration records from the courts.
The conservative group says the public should know whether Harry received any special treatment upon entering the United States. According to the insider, the ongoing dispute has created uncertainty for Harry in the US. "The visa issue has become a cloud Harry simply cannot control," the source told Naughty But Nice. "As long as people are fighting to see those records, there's uncertainty."
The insider claimed that establishing a stronger base in Britain could give Harry another option if questions surrounding his US immigration status continue. "Establishing a life in Britain gives him something America currently doesn't — certainty," the source added.

NEW YORK (AP) — In the opening scene of American writer Kim Stanley Robinson's "The Ministry for the Future," a heat wave combined with a breakdown of the electrical grid in India kills 20 million people. The devastation causes the world's nations to unite to combat climate change.
Scientists have long warned that the world will experience more intense extreme weather events like heat waves, storms, floods and droughts. But what once seemed like the realm of fiction is now discussed as a possibility, even an inevitability.
Warning about an "extreme of extremes" or the "Other Big One," a play off the California reference of a big future earthquake, can be fraught. After all, ***** ody can say for sure when a weather catastrophe may happen. But in the last few years, the planetary ingredients needed for a massive disturbance have been building. And alarm is growing.
"The risk is that people just think you are exaggerating," said Daniel Swain, a climate scientist with the California Institute for Water Resources. "It's the 'Boy Who Cried Wolf' problem. Sometimes wolves are real. If it's outside the door, wouldn't you want to know?"
In the 1850s, while living in Seneca Falls, New York, amateur scientist Eunice Newton Foote did a series of experiments that put different substances, including carbon dioxide and moist air, inside glass cylinders and left them in the sun. What she found was extraordinary: cylinders with carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas that is released when coal, gas or oil is burned, heated up faster and took longer to cool after the sun went down.

Multiple comedy festivals are reportedly distancing themselves from Reggie Watts following disturbing allegations into his behaviour.
The 2026 lineups for Greenbelt Festival, Shambala Festival and Electric Picnic no longer display his name. Watts had been scheduled to perform at all three events over the weekend of 27 to 30 August.
In addition, the weekly Comedy Bang! Bang! Podcast, hosted by Scott Aukerman, has seemingly dropped its Watts-composed theme song, despite it serving as the intro music since 2011, Rolling Stone reports.
The outlet reported last week that the American comedian, musician and actor had displayed allegedly toxic, controlling and at times abusive behaviour towards his ex-girlfriend Katherine McCollough.
McCollough died by suicide this spring.
The musical comedian faced lengthy accusations from numerous people interviewed by Rolling Stone of him pressuring his former partner into using dangerous substances such as ketamine throughout their romance, which lasted from around May 2024 to October 2025.

Shia LaBeouf confessed he has been drinking daily since being sentenced to two years of probation in connection to a physical altercation inside a New Orleans bar.
A document recounting a probation status hearing that the actor attended sans lawyer on Wednesday (August 19), first spotted by TMZ and reviewed by Complex, shows that LaBeouf stated he has been checking in with his probation officer, and has provided proof showing he will complete anger management training and substance abuse treatment by next month. The doc also revealed that the actor denied mental health treatment and admitted to drinking alcohol daily.
LaBeouf was arrested in February following an incident where the actor allegedly struck a man several times outside of a bar with a closed fist before returning to the establishment and "acting even more aggressive," causing multiple people to step in and hold him down.
When they allowed LaBeouf to get up in the hopes that he would leave, he struck the same man again in the upper body, and punched another man in the nose.

California Attorney General Rob Bonta canceled a settlement meeting with Paramount scheduled for Monday, accusing the company of leaking and misrepresenting details of an earlier negotiating session, according to CNN.
Monday's meeting, which both sides had positioned as an early step toward a possible settlement in California's suit to block the Paramount-WBD deal, was called off by Bonta on Sunday evening following the Friday session, according to Variety.
"Not only did Paramount leak the alleged substance of settlement discussions, but they misrepresented these discussions, demonstrating a lack of good faith," Bonta said in a statement to the New York Times. "As soon as Paramount stops playing games and engages sincerely, my office is happy to meet again."
Bonta is leading a coalition of 12 state attorneys general that filed suit last month to block the deal, arguing that a combined Paramount-WBD entity would hold roughly a third of wide-release film distribution and a comparable share of basic cable TV programming, constituting presumptively illegal market concentration. The coalition includes Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, and Washington.
Bonta had previously signaled that any resolution would require "robust structural remedies" — meaning divestitures or spin-offs — and accused Paramount of steering early discussions toward topics outside the complaint's scope, including the streaming market and CNN. Paramount has maintained that the deal is pro-competitive and has characterized opposition to it as politically motivated.

(NEXSTAR) – From unexpected babies to "Ozempic teeth," the ultra-popular class of GLP-1 medications is turning out to have a few unanticipated side effects. Emerging research shows the drugs, which have proven effective in treating obesity and diabetes, may also be useful in treating addiction.
The medications' full potential is coming to light as more people are prescribed a GLP-1, which includes the brand names Ozempic, Mounjaro, Wegovy and Zepbound. As 15% of Americans say they've tried a GLP-1, researchers are learning more about how it impacts all aspects of life, not just diet.
"This drug has been available in the medical community since 2005," said Dr. Eugene Lucas, professor and coordinator of the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Program at Wilkes University. "And over time, when physicians are ordering these medications for people with obesity, diabetes, they're finding that if they have a concurrent addictive disorder, and specifically alcohol, that they're either cutting back or stopping their alcohol use."
A large study of more than 200,000 people in Sweden found using a GLP-1 drug was ***** ociated with a decreased risk of hospitalization from alcohol use disorder.
Another study by researchers at the Washington University School of Medicine, which looked at 600,000 veterans with type 2 diabetes, found the medications were tied to a lower risk of developing any kind of substance use disorder.
