News of her death was shared by her nephew on social media. "Dolly has lived in the light and is in the arms of Jesus," he said.
Earlier this year, Parton had canceled a Las Vegas residency over health issues.

The jump came on Wednesday, when the beauty group reported its fiscal 2026 results and raised its profit margin outlook for fiscal 2027. That raise is what the week was about, and the profit behind it is being driven by overhead cost reductions and structural operational savings.
Beauty did not move as a block: Coty fell 3.9% over the same week, and e.l.f. Beauty's 11.5% gain is well short of Estee Lauder's 18.4%. The quarter itself beat, with fiscal Q4 2026 revenue of $3.6 billion, up 6% year over year and ahead of an ***** yst estimate of $3.54 billion. The forward sales plan moved less. Organic sales grew 3% in fiscal 2026, and management guided fiscal 2027 organic growth of 3% to 5%—meaning no acceleration at the low end.
Operating margin before restructuring charges reached 11.2% in fiscal 2026, up 320 basis points, and management now expects 12.7% to 13.5% in fiscal 2027, a further 150 to 230 basis points, with the top end above its own preliminary view a quarter earlier. A company still paying for its own profitability is a different proposition from the Trefis High Quality Portfolio, which holds businesses that already grow, earn strong margins and generate cash.

After 34 years and more than 5,500 episodes anchoring sports television's longest-running program, SportsCenter, Linda Cohn decided it was time for something different. Earlier this year, Cohn was celebrated in a daylong presentation during her return to Bristol, Connecticut. It would seem that Manchester City have settled on signing Allan from Palmeiras to fill void on the right wing in Enzo Maresca's squad. The Brazilian winger looks to have the attributes both in and out of possession that Enzo Maresca desires in a winger. Allan is exceptional in one-on-one situations with the ball at his feet due to his dribbling ability and speed. Viola Davis led a wave of tributes to Hayden Panettiere, who passed away on Sunday (Aug. 16) at the age of 36.
Following the news that Panettiere was found unresponsive in her South Carolina home by a friend, the entertainment industry and those she worked with in it shared their grief. In a post shared on Instagram, Viola Davis, who starred in the 2016 courtroom drama Custody with the late actress, said that she loved working with her alongside her husband, Julius Tennon.

In an item for Awful Announcing, Daniel Kaplan reports that some bar owners are considering litigation over the apparent bait-and-switch for the money that was wasted to overhaul the technological infrastructure after being told that DirecTV was out of the Sunday Ticket business for good.
EverPass, which distributes NFL products to commercial establishments, sent a clear message that the obsolescence of satellite was irreversible.
"The shift happening in live sports distribution is much bigger than any one company or product," EverPass told a bar owner in May, per Kaplan. "To clarify, there are no active discussions between EverPass and DirecTV regarding NFL Sunday Ticket. EverPass is the only authorized commercial distribution platform for NFL Sunday Ticket, beginning with the 2026 season."

Colchester United have signed Southampton midfielder Moses Sesay on a season-long loan.
The 19-year-old, who joined the Saints academy from Chelsea last year, has played for England at Under-18 level.
