Jalen Thomas Brooks can pinpoint the exact moment his life changed.
At 3 a.m. on May 13, the actor was sitting on a rooftop in New York with his Off Campus costars Belmont Cameli and Ella Bright, waiting for the show to hit streaming. As the clock crept into the morning, their phones started lighting up.
"The notifications on our phones were just ding, ding, ding, ding, ding," Brooks recalls to Yahoo. "The next day, we walked outside, and it was completely different. Ever since then, it's been a little surreal."
The moment isn't lost on Brooks, whose first job was helping his dad build stages for DJs and events around Las Vegas. He's now a fixture on two of television's buzziest shows: Prime Video's hockey romance phenomenon Off Campus and HBO Max's acclaimed medical drama The Pitt.
"It's a beautiful thing," Brooks says.
