On September 17, Ferrari N.V. (NYSE:RACE) announced a partnership with the technology company Rakuten Group, Inc., effective January 1, 2027. The announcement gives no scope and no price tag, so it works better as a signal than as a number. The real substance sits in the results Ferrari posted on July 30, when it raised its 2026 guidance because buyers are ordering more personalization than the company expected.
In the second quarter, revenue rose 8%, but operating profit rose 10%, which means each euro of sales is leaving more behind. Ferrari credits a richer mix of cars, with the F80 helping, along with more buyers paying up for personalization. Strip out currency swings, and the gap widens, with revenue up 11% and operating profit up 16%. Deliveries of the Purosangue and the 296 Speciale family grew even in the middle of a planned model changeover.
Cash and demand back that up. Industrial free cash flow jumped 39% to €276 million, and Ferrari also returned more than €800 million to shareholders through a dividend and buybacks. Racing helped too, as higher sponsorships and engine rentals to other Formula 1 teams lifted revenue. Meanwhile, the order book covers 2027 in full, and the new 12Cilindri Manuale is already fully allocated, which is about as strong a demand signal as a carmaker can send. Those trends are why revenue guidance moved up to about €7.60 billion from about €7.50 billion.
Part of the strength is timing. Operating profit got a boost from temporarily lower depreciation and amortization while Ferrari swaps out models, and the company says those charges will climb once the new cars enter production. Net profit also leaned on a 23.0% tax rate, which reflects an estimated benefit from the new Patent Box. Neither says much about how profitable the cars themselves are.
Costs are climbing too. Higher industrial and marketing expenses weighed on operating profit, EBITDA margin slipped to 39.0% from 39.7% a year earlier, and management expects heavier brand, racing and digital spending for the year. Currency is a drag as well, mostly from the dollar and the yen, which is why 11% growth at constant currency shrank to 8% as reported. Deliveries totaled 3,366 cars while the 296 GTS, Roma Spider and SF90 XX family wound down, and sponsorship, commercial and brand revenue grew just 2%. And the whole outlook leans on current visibility into the Middle East crisis, which Ferrari cannot control.

The inaugural Spanish Grand Prix at the Madring has drawn heavy criticism from F1 fans and drivers over the limited overtaking opportunities on the narrow circuit. Its layout reportedly made the race a dull spectacle for many, and now even Spain's Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, Óscar Puente, has weighed in. Puente didn't hold back, describing the event as "an absolute dud."
Puente has kept his criticism constructive, comparing the Spanish GP with the Monaco GP, which is also known for offering limited overtaking opportunities. Monaco's narrow city streets have become increasingly challenging as F1 cars have grown larger over the decades, while significantly widening the roads is simply not a realistic option.
Despite Monaco's reputation for limited overtaking, this year's race featured 10 overtakes during the entire race, according to a social media post from Autosport. By comparison, the Madrid race last weekend saw just four overtakes.

Ferrari built the weekend around Schumacher's legacy. It had been 30 years since he joined Ferrari in 1996 with a special Monza livery, racewear details inspired by the seven-time champion, and seven stars representing his ****** les. The showcase featured several of Schumacher's iconic cars, including the 1996 F310, the 2002 F2002, and the 2006 248 F1.
The F2002 was not merely an old Ferrari brought out for a ceremonial lap. Lewis Hamilton says it is "far too late" for Ferrari to give him priority over team-mate Charles Leclerc in the championship fight, following a disappointing weekend at their home Italian Grand Prix.
The seven-time world champion, who started fourth and finished sixth, was pushed on to the grass by Leclerc on the opening lap, slipping him down to 10th, as the pair battled wheel-to-wheel at the exit of the first chicane.
Leclerc then suffered a high-speed crash at the Parabolica shortly after to leave Hamilton as Ferrari's only hope of a top-three finish.
Once the race restarted following the red-flag period caused by Leclerc's crash, Hamilton never fully rejoined the fight at the front, and with Mercedes securing a one-two finish at Monza, he has fallen further back in the championship fight.

Nico Rosberg says it is "not feasible" for Ferrari to prioritise Lewis Hamilton over Charles Leclerc in the 2026 ***** le race, in a verdict that directly counters Hamilton's push for team orders at Ferrari.
Speaking to Sky Sports F1 following qualifying at the Italian Grand Prix, Rosberg addressed suggestions that Ferrari should back the seven-time champion in the ***** le fight. "They can't do that," said Rosberg, who was partnered with Hamilton at Mercedes from 2013 to 2016. "They have two No. 1 drivers, both on a similar level. You cannot, now in the middle of the season, put everything just working towards Lewis. It's way too early, and that doesn't make sense."
Rosberg acknowledged that the internal fighting has been costing Hamilton championship points, but insisted the team simply has no alternative. "Of course, it costs them performance, and Lewis championship points eventually, but the team cannot do that at this stage against Leclerc. It's not feasible," he added.
Rosberg's verdict carries particular weight because he lived through the exact arrangement Hamilton is now demanding. Hamilton has called for rules of engagement similar to his time at Mercedes with Rosberg, as GPblog reported on Sunday.

Taking a grid penalty that relegated him to the back row of the grid, championship leader Andrea Kimi Antonelli appeared to be strictly on a damage-limitation run. Instead, the 20-year-old Mercedes prodigy delivered the drive of his life, executing a massive number of overtakes to carve through the entire field and secure a sensational victory at the 2026 Italian Grand Prix.

Four-time Formula One champion Sebastian Vettel experienced an emotional moment ahead of the Italian Grand Prix on Sunday when he drove Michael Schumacher's Ferrari car for a lap around the Monza circuit.
Ferrari are celebrating the 30th anniversary of Schumacher's victory at the iconic track in the 1996 season, which was his first one with the Scuderia.
Vettel drove the F2002, which is widely regarded as one of the most successful F1 car designs of all time. Schumacher drove it to a then to a record-equalling fifth drivers' world ******* le in 2002.
"Today is a special day. I just got out of the car, I had the honour of driving Michael's car around the track. It was very emotional for me. It brings back so many childhood memories, the whole experience," Vettel told broadcaster Sky.

Going into the Italian Grand Prix, of all the storylines and narratives being composed, absolutely none of them involved Pierre Gasly and Alpine.
That's not dismissive of the French driver or the Enstone team, but Ferrari competing on home soil with a decent chance of victory and an Italian in Kimi Antonelli leading the championship was always going to take every column inch available this weekend.
So, when the FIA Court of Appeal report dropped at the start of first practice at Monza to inform the world that Gasly had lost his Monaco GP podium, a new and unexpected theme emerged. And then it snowballed.
First there was Flavio Briatore's questioning of the integrity of one of the judges, Filippo Marchino, about connections to McLaren – one of the lead proponents in the appeal – which McLaren team principal Andrea Stella vehemently took offence to, then there was the FIA Court of Appeal statement to dismiss comments of impartiality.

A crash, a penalty… what next? For a man who's just turned 20, Italian hotshot Kimi Antonelli has already endured a tumultuous relationship with his home grand prix: the electrifying, old-school Monza circuit, long christened Formula 1's Temple of Speed.
Two years ago, on the same weekend that Toto Wolff announced that then-F2 driver Antonelli would have the small shoes of Lewis Hamilton to fill in 2025, Antonelli took part in his first F1 session. On his second flying lap, full-send around the final high-speed Parabolica corner, the teen dumped his car violently into the wall. Then, in 2025, Antonelli crashed again in practice before receiving a penalty for track limits and running Alex Albon off the circuit.
Coming in the midst of a helter-skelter rookie year, Wolff acknowledged that Antonelli's ninth-place performance had been "underwhelming," urging his protege to "just free up." Fast-forward 12 months, Antonelli is potentially 11 races away from becoming F1's youngest-ever world champion. And on Thursday, he acknowledged he feels "very free mentally."
Yet Antonelli's chances of becoming the first home driver to win the Italian Grand Prix since Ferrari's Ludovico Scarfiotti in 1966 are slim, bordering on zero. The championship leader, 59 points clear at the top, will take a 20-place grid penalty this weekend as he exceeds his engine allocation for the season. Mercedes's thinking is that, with Monza's mammoth long straight, overtaking from the back of the grid will be easier come raceday. Still, it feels a shame to lose the budding romance of a potential first Italian winner in 60 years.
"In some ways, it makes me a bit more relaxed going into the weekend," Antonelli said in the FIA press conference. "That's why I'm going to be able to enjoy more the driving and the weekend itself. Also, it's a different opportunity.

He is their prodigy, much like how Max Verstappen is for Red Bull and Charles Leclerc is in some ways for Ferrari. And for the near future, Antonelli doesn't see himself anywhere else.

The new F1 season is officially back as Lando Norris begins his quest to defend his world championship **** le following an epic 2025 campaign that saw McLaren dominate from start to finish.
With new technical regulations, new drivers and even a new track this year, 22 drivers and 11 teams will contest the 2026 F1 world championship.
Across 24 race weekends, six of them including sprint races, fans will follow every twist and turn of the campaign with plenty of questions needing answers.
Will Norris defend his **** le? Can Lewis Hamilton finally get going at Ferrari? Is Max Verstappen going to bounce back and win a fifth world championship? We're about to find out.

McLaren spent the first half of 2026 looking like last year's champion team in name only. The wins dried up, the new car took time to come alive and even as Lando Norris kept putting points on the board, the gap to Kimi Antonelli kept growing. Then Hungary happened, Zandvoort followed, and two weeks was all it took to change the mood of the season.
Norris has now won the last two grands prix and sits fourth in the standings at 159 points, 83 behind Antonelli and 24 behind Lewis Hamilton and George Russell, who are tied at 183. That is still a mountain for Norris and McLaren to climb, but it is no longer out of the question.

McLaren is third in the constructors' championship with 263 points, 75 behind Ferrari and 162 behind Mercedes. Another strong weekend at Monza would not crown anyone, but it would force the two teams ahead to treat McLaren as a Sunday problem rather than a midfield inconvenience.

Mercedes' Kimi Antonelli will try to tighten his grip on the drivers' championship on home ground at this weekend's Italian Grand Prix at Monza.
However, the 20-year-old can expect to face a challenge from a resurgent McLaren and in particular Lando Norris, who has won the past two grands prix.
And Monza is of course also home territory for Ferrari, although the long straights of the historic circuit may not suit the characteristics of their car.

Lando Norris reckons the field is close especially at the top despite new regulations in F1 2026 and feels McLaren should have been much further ahead in terms of points.
Having secured both the ***** les in F1 2025, McLaren sits third in the 2026 constructors' standings with 263 points behind Mercedes (425) and Ferrari (338) after 12 races, while Norris is fourth in the drivers' standings with 159 points behind Andrea Kimi Antonelli (242), George Russell (183) & Lewis Hamilton (183).
They are in the hunt but not quite still, especially due to early struggles. They had three 'Did Not Start' to start the F1 2026 campaign from two races. There were three more retirements, leaving them quite behind their immediate rivals. They have picked up with wins in last two races, but still not there yet.
Norris acknowledges that McLaren should have much further ahead, had they got the start they hoped for. They had huge chunk of points loss, but the Brit feels they have done good still, considering where they were last year and how much time they spent in covering off 2025, which strained some bit for 2026.
"We should be further ahead," said Norris to media. "We didn't even start a race. We've been pretty unlucky. We had a lot of problems at the beginning of the season. Mercedes have had a fair few as well. Ferrari are probably at the least. Yeah, I think it's a new regulation where other teams have done a very good job.
