USA Rare Earth, Inc. (NASDAQ:USAR) announced on September 4 that it completed the Serra Verde acquisition one day earlier, paying $300 million in cash and issuing approximately 126.8 million common shares. The transaction adds Brazil's Pela Ema mine to Less Common Metals in the United Kingdom, the Stillwater, Oklahoma, magnet facility, and the Round Top project in Texas.
Serra Verde began production in January 2024 but is still completing optimization and commissioning. Stage 1 is expected to reach an annual run rate of approximately 4,000 metric tons of total rare-earth oxide, or TREO, by year-end 2026. Stage 2 construction targets average annual production of 6,400 metric tons, with commissioning expected to begin within 12 months.
Serra Verde had $425 million of principal outstanding under its U.S. International Development Finance Corporation loan at June 30. At closing, a $100 million tranche was extinguished after related warrants were exercised, leaving approximately $325 million of principal. The unaudited pro forma combined balance sheet reported a $304.1 million debt carrying value after discounts and issuance costs.

All good things must come to an end, and that was the case when Merced (Calif.) handed top-ranked Central-Phenix City flag football its first loss in nearly four years.
The Red Devils' 20-12 loss to the Bears on Friday, Sept. 11, ended their 62-game winning streak that dates back to November 2022 when they lost to Auburn High School in the state quarterfinals during their first official season.

USA Rare Earth (NASDAQ: USAR) is a critical minerals specialist that went public through a merger with special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) Inflection Point Acquisition Corp. II in March 2025. The company saw some volatile trading in the months immediately following its debut, but it went on to hit a lifetime high in October of that year following reports that the company was discussing a potential partnership with the White House and rumors that the U.S. government could take a stake in the business.
In January 2026, USA Rare Earth actually did announce that the U.S. government was establishing a roughly 10% ownership stake in the company that could expand to 16% with the exercise of warrants -- but its share price has still fallen far below the high it hit last year. Gerard Piqué has said his final goodbye to his paternal grandmother, Lina Rovira Montsant, who has passed away at the age of 102. After the wake, which took place at the Sant Guim de Freixenet funeral home between 5:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. last Tuesday, the family gathered for a funeral mass at the Sagrat Cor de Sant Guim church, in Lleida. Around noon, relatives and close friends of Lina arrived, including Gerard and his girlfriend, Clara Chía.

Real Madrid academy graduate Manu Serrano is set to continue his development away from the Santiago Bernabeu, with the young left-back heading to Deportivo La Coruña in search of regular senior football.
According to MARCA, the 22-year-old will join Deportivo and initially link up with the club's reserve team.
The move is nevertheless understood to offer a clear pathway towards the first team, with his multi-year contract including the possibility of a promotion as early as next season.
For Serrano, the transfer brings an end to a long spell at the Real Madrid academy and opens the door to a new chapter at a club looking to establish itself again at the highest level of Spanish football.

Ridden by Junior Alvarado, Knightsbridge ran 1 1/4 miles in 2:01.79. The 5-year-old horse had shipped to the seaside track north of San Diego from the East Coast after a win in the Monmouth Cup five weeks ago in New Jersey.
"He was kind of skipping over the ground," Alvarado said. "I had my hopes that when I asked him he would give me his best right when we turned for home. It was all heart there. He's a horse that has a lot of talent."
Knightsbridge was challenged over the opening mile by the speedy Full Serrano before shaking him off at the head of the stretch. The winner paid $4.20 as the wagering favorite.

Amanda Serrano will defend her WBA and WBO featherweight ***** les against Lucrecia Manzur on Friday night as part of a Most Valuable Promotions boxing card.
After ending her rivalry with Katie Taylor, Serrano (49-4-1) won back-to-back fights against Reina Tellez and Cheyenne Hanson. She will be looking for her 33rd win via knockout, which would break the record she currently shares with Hall of Famer Christy Martin.
"No one's going to say, 'Oh, yes, I'm gonna be her 33rd victim.' I know [Manzur] came to fight, so that's even a better and a sweeter victory when I do get it," Serrano said at the pre-fight press conference.

One of the top comments brought up comedian George Lopez and said he cheated on his wife after she donated a kidney to him. Lopez's ex-wife, Ann Serrano, donated a kidney to him in 2005 after he was diagnosed with a genetic condition. Later in 2010, the couple announced that they were ending their 17-year marriage, and Serrano filed for divorce in 2012. The official cause, however, was irreconcilable differences.
ABC News reporting on the divorce did not support the claim that adultery was the cause of their split.
Another highly upvoted comment was in reference to former House Speaker Newt Gingrich. Din Thomas was a busy man on Saturday night at UFC 330 in Philadelphia. Not only was he carrying his usual broadcast duties, he was also cornering co-main challenger Gillian Robertson as she fought Mackenzie Dern for the women's strawweight **** le.
Robertson ended up not having an answer on how to beat Dern, whose jiu jitsu was better and striking was faster and more powerful. Din Thomas didn't have any useful advice to give her in the corner, either, relying instead on common platitudes like "Don't give up on yourself."
Following Robertson's loss, Thomas did the worst thing a coach can do: he buried his student in public. On the Paramount+ post-show, Din announced he was done cornering fighters.
"I told myself I would continue to do this until I took Gillian as far as she could go. I think that might be as far as she can go," Thomas said. "I am officially retiring from cornering fighters tonight. Yes. I'm doing the Matt Serra. I am no longer cornering fighters. I've been sitting on that and I'm telling you now, that's what I'm doing."

In a recent post on X, journalist Paul O'Keefe claimed that Tottenham Hotspur have identified Villarreal forward Georges Mikautadze as a target for this summer transfer window. It is believed that Spurs are hoping to improve their attack by recruiting the Georgian striker this off-season.

The Football Development Center of the State of Piauí was the seventh one inaugurated by the CBF in a single year. At an event held this Thursday (6), the entity officially opened the Piauí unit, located in Teresina.
The project was unlocked in the middle of last year. Although some structures were physically ready, there was no plan to put them into operation. Faced with this situation, the CBF released funds so that the state federations could manage these **** es. The amount exceeds R$ 20 million.

In a recent report, Sport claimed that Manchester United have identified Racing Santander youngster Jorge Salinas as a target for this summer transfer window. Two women who spent several hours with the former One Direction singer on October 16, 2024, described the condition of his Buenos Aires hotel room, his alleged substance use, and the troubling escalation they witnessed before leaving shortly before 4 p.m. Payne died just 67 minutes later after falling from the balcony of his third-floor room at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel. He was 31.

According to sworn statements obtained by the Daily Mail, Aldana Serrano and Lucila Goitea arrived at the CasaSur Palermo at approximately 11:30 a.m. after Payne allegedly contacted Serrano through an escort website. Serrano initially questioned whether she was actually communicating with the world-famous singer and reportedly asked him to prove his identity.
"Liam contacted me via WhatsApp today (October 16, 2024) around 11 am. The whole time he spoke to me in English. He told me who he was and he sent me a video of him. The video wasn't current; it was him singing," she told investigators. "He also sent me pictures of him which he took while he was in bed, before we got there."
The hotel reportedly collected the women's identification before allowing them to enter room 310, enabling authorities to locate them quickly following Payne's death. "He was alone in his room. He greeted us warmly and I asked him for payment. We tried to communicate, but it was difficult because he only spoke English and I only Spanish," Serrano recalled.
