In one of two posts on her TikTok account, Findlay shared a screen recording of a FaceTime call with her late mother, in which she shows her own children to her on the camera. When Kat Friday, a revenue operations employee at financial technology firm Marqeta, first came across Pickle on TikTok in February 2025, she didn't think opening a storefront on the app would ever amount to much.
"I am not into fashion one bit. I wear all black everywhere," Friday tells Fortune. She initially opened the app to scan for a few outfits for an upcoming vacation. But as she scrolled through Pickle's more than 500,000 listings, Friday realized she also could use the platform to rent out an expensive camera sitting on a shelf collecting dust in her apartment.
In November 2025, she listed a Canon G7 X camera, which normally retails for around $1,000, for $150 a week, and waited for a response. The rentals came almost immediately.
"I never use this thing and people are dying for them," Friday says. "I immediately got a bunch of rentals for it, and I was like, 'Okay, I'm gonna list some other stuff.'"
The listing's success inspired Friday to add more items to her Pickle offerings, and she started uploading some shirts and dresses she barely wore. As her storefront grew, Friday even started purchasing "trendy" items in a variety of sizes, what she referred to as "investment pieces" to rent out on Pickle.

A woman is going viral after posting a video in which she says she was fired from a new job after being late on her first and second day for what she insists were good reasons.
TikTok user bigisrayy shared a video from the driver's seat of her car on Tuesday, July 21, in which she explained in the caption that she lost her job on her second day due to "a patten [sic] of 'absence ' that they thought was unprofessional and disrespectful."
In the video, she explained that she wanted to be "transparent" with her followers and revealed that she told her new employers that she'd have to be late on her first day because she had to go to the DMV to take care of a suspended license. She claimed, in a follow-up video shared a day later, that her uncle worked at the DMV, so she'd hoped it would be a speedy process, but her uncle was on vacation.
As a result, she showed up 30 minutes late on her first day, but claims she warned her employers she would be late and communicated with them on the day.
Things got tense the following shift when she showed up five minutes late. Rather than call ahead and warn them that she'd be late, she hoped she could simply apologize in person.

Though Cunningham’s freshly supercharged Instagram follower count of 2.6 million is still well behind that of Clark (3.8 million), Bueckers (3 million) and Reese (5.2 million), her engagement rate—a metric of utmost importance to advertisers and brand partners—is much higher. Per Social Blade, Cunningham averages approximately 300,000 likes and 3,000 comments per post on the platform; Bueckers’s typical engagement—235,000 likes and 1,000 comments a post—is the next closest.
This isn’t Cunningham’s first surge since joining the Fever last year.

This is the first time a TikTok U.S. executive will testify publicly ‌in the U.S. House ⁠since the company's Chinese owner, ByteDance, finalized a deal to split the U.S. app ⁠from its global business. ByteDance has disclosed few details about the deal, and a hearing would allow lawmakers to ask questions about U.S. President Donald Trump's role in ‌brokering the split and Chinese involvement in the U.S. app.
The U.S. enacted a law in 2024 requiring ByteDance to sell the app or see it shut in the country. The U.S. Congress passed the law after ‌lawmakers expressed concerns that the company's management was beholden to the Chinese government, posing a national security risk.

Michael Selwood, a British influencer known for his boxing and lifestyle content, has died at age 35.
Selwood was found dead at around 5 p.m. local time Sunday, hours after he was reported missing, Greater Manchester police said in a statement shared with People.
Police said that Selwood had last been seen Saturday at around 8 p.m. in Dukinfield, England.
"Michael's family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers at this difficult time," the statement said, per People. "We would like to thank everyone who shared and supported this appeal."

Jeff Pearlman has spent much of the last several years positioning himself as one of sports media's loudest critics, frequently calling out journalists, broadcasters and media personalities over their work and ethics.
Now, the longtime sportswriter and bestselling author finds himself on the other side of that conversation.
Pearlman, a Southern California resident who has taught journalism as an adjunct professor at Chapman University for the past decade, publicly apologized after YouTube creator Velodus accused him of plagiarizing large portions of a 2021 video about former New York Yankees prospect Ruben Rivera. Awful Announcing was the first to detail the scandal.
Velodus published a detailed follow-up video identifying what he said were 23 instances in which Pearlman's video mirrored his original work, including newspaper clippings, archival footage, photographs and editing choices. According to Velodus, several graphics even retained alterations unique to his original edit.
Pearlman's version appeared on his Press Box Chronicles YouTube channel, which has a significantly larger audience than Velodus' channel, and included a sponsored advertisement. After the allegations gained traction, Pearlman made the Rivera video private, deleted his Bluesky account (he had already previously deleted his X/Twitter account) and later released a TikTok video addressing the controversy.
