Suri Cruise, the daughter of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, has legally dropped her father's last name and chosen a surname that honors her mother instead, according to a Page Six report.
Rather than adopting Holmes as her last name, Suri opted for Noelle, her mother's middle name. While it's unclear when she officially changed her last name, Page Six reported that she registered to vote in Allegheny County, Pa., under the name Suri Noelle during her freshman year at Carnegie Mellon University in October 2024. She first made headlines in June 2024, when she graduated from New York City's LaGuardia High School and was listed as Suri Noelle in the ceremony pamphlet.
The reported name change comes after years of estrangement from Cruise. Following her parents' divorce in 2012, Suri moved from Los Angeles to New York City with Holmes, who was granted full custody, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The Mission: Impossible star was ordered to pay $400,000 annually in child support, plus medical, dental, education and insurance expenses, until Suri turned 18, the outlet reported.
Before moving to Pittsburgh, Pa., Suri, who has often been described as the spitting image of her mother, was frequently spotted out and about in New York City.
"We are committed to working together as parents to accomplish what is in our daughter Suri's best interests," read a joint statement from Holmes and Cruise following their divorce in 2012. "We want to keep matters affecting our family private and express our respect for each other's commitment to each of our respective beliefs and support each other's roles as parents."

Kelsey Grammer is escalating his criticism of American history education as he promotes a new civics project tied to the nation's 250th anniversary.
During an appearance on The Katie Miller Podcast, the Frasier star used the term "child abuse" to describe lessons that he believes teach students to view the United States primarily through its failures.
Grammer argued that children who repeatedly hear that America is a bad country may begin questioning whether being American makes them bad. He did not identify a particular school, curriculum or educator responsible for the approach he criticized.
His remarks follow an earlier interview in which he called for an overhaul of the education system and warned that people without a clear understanding of their history become easier to control.
Grammer made the comparison while discussing what he considers an overly negative presentation of American history. "What they're doing to children in school today is child abuse," he said in the podcast clip shared by TMZ.

Scotland claimed three medals in a magnificent 45 minutes in the pool to kickstart the hosts' Commonwealth Games in fine style in Glasgow.
Poster boy Duncan Scott started the rush, defending his 200m individual medley gold from Birmingham four years ago by slicing a chunk off his own Games record.
Then Para-swimmer Stephen Clegg added silver in 100m freestyle S13 - with brother James fourth - after battling back from an injury-ravaged year.
And Katie Shanahan upgraded her 2022 Games bronze to silver in the 200m backstroke.
The drama all unfolded at the same raucous Tollcross pool where 29-year-old Scott won the first of his now 14 Games medals in 2014.

Blue Jays are in same boat as Mets for potential Tarik Skubal trade originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The Toronto Blue Jays came into the 2026 MLB season as one of the top World Series contenders, but after the season has gone very poorly for a few reasons, they're now at great risk of missing the postseason.
As part of missing the postseason, as they're well behind their top competition in the AL East and the wild card, the Blue Jays could wind up selling at the deadline.
As Katie Woo, Will Sammon, and Patrick Mooney of The Athletic noted, the Blue Jays are in the same boat as the New York Mets when it comes to the trade deadline, and more specifically, in pursuit of Tarik Skubal.
"Tier 8: Maybe in free agency. Teams: New York Mets, Toronto Blue Jays," the trio from The Athletic writes. "... The Blue Jays, despite winning the AL pennant last year, are fighting to remain a playoff contender. Both could be awfully motivated to reel in Skubal after the season."

Edwin Díaz of the Los Angeles Dodgers has missed much of the year after elbow surgery, but he’s nearing a return to the big leagues.
Díaz made his first rehab appearance in Triple-A on Wednesday, and given that timeline, there’s a chance that he could return to the Dodgers in less than a week, as reported by Katie Woo of The Athletic.
Edwin Díaz started his back-to-back with OKC in Sacramento today. He’ll make one more rehab start after that over the weekend (likely Sat). There is a chance both Díaz and Kiké Hernández are active to kick off the next homestand (7/28) #Dodgers

Díaz will complete that back-to-back on Thursday, leaving perhaps only one more outing in the minors before he’s back to MLB.

Cardinals just made their biggest statement since Albert Pujols with JJ Wetherholt extension originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The dollar amount is eye-catching. The timing is even more significant.By signing rookie infielder JJ Wetherholt to an eight-year, $112.5 million contract extension, the St. Louis Cardinals didn't just lock up one of baseball's brightest young stars. They sent a message about the future of the franchise.
St. Louis has long been one of Major League Baseball's most patient organizations when it comes to handing out long-term contracts to young players. That's why Friday's announcement stands out. According to The Athletic's Katie Woo, it's the Cardinals' largest pre-arbitration extension since Albert Pujols signed his historic seven-year, $100 million deal in 2004.
No one is suggesting Wetherholt will become the next Pujols. Few players in baseball history have reached that level. But the confidence the Cardinals are showing in their 23-year-old rookie says everything about how highly they view him.
Organizations don't commit nine figures to players they merely hope become stars.

Queen Camilla was reportedly ready to move past her long-standing differences with Prince Harry just to spend time with his children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, on their UK visit.
The wish will go unfulfilled as Prince Harry has come alone, unless Meghan Markle and the kids join him later on the trip.
According to Blast, if the reunion is possible, it will indicate a major shift in the dynamic between Prince Harry and his stepmother, especially after the Prince cast her in a brutally unfavourable light in his memoir, "Spare." According to the memoir, Camilla had no interest in meeting Harry face-to-face. However, with time, the situation might have changed.
Katie Nicholl, a royal expert, had previously confirmed that Harry, Meghan, and the kids would visit King Charles and Camilla if they came to the UK.
"I'm told that the Queen is also very willing to meet them," Nicholl shared with "The Royals Uncensored." She also explained why the reunion may be a big turning point in the royals' relationship with Harry, after they stepped away from royal duties and moved to California in 2020, as per Blast.

Record-setting Washington Huskies pole vaulters Hana and Amanda Moll returned to Eugene, Oregon, where they just went 1-2 in the NCAA Outdoor Championships, on Friday for the senior-level Prefontaine Classic in the Diamond League, track and field's top tier of meets.
In a nine-woman competition comprised almost entirely of Americans, the twins were the youngest competitors by about eighteen months, but that didn't stop them from finishing 4th and 6th. They finished in the opposite order from last month's NCAA Championships, with Hana leading the way with a clearance of 4.70m while Amanda bowed out with a clearance of 4.60m.
The meet was won by Sandi Morris, the 2016 Olympic silver medalist in the event, who matched her jump from that day in Rio de Janeiro with a clearance of 4.85m. Katie Moon, the 2020 Olympic gold medalist and reigning Olympic silver medalist, was second at 4.80m. Gabriela Leon, the 2022 NCAA champion in the pole vault, was third at 4.70m, while veteran Emily Grove, a former Diamond League meet winner, tied with Hana for fourth.
Neither twin was quite at their best, as both are in the top five clearances in the world this year. Morris' 4.85 vault on Friday pushed her into a tie for third-best mark in the world with Great Britain's Molly Caudery, who cleared that bar in March at a meet in Poland. Hana's 4.88m mark in Dempsey Indoor this January is the second-best clearance in the world, however, trailing only Polina Knoroz of Russia, who cleared 4.91m at a Russian meet two weeks ago. Amanda's 4.84m clearance to win the NCAA **** le last month is the fifth-best clearance in the world.
Amanda told reporters after the meet that both sisters expect to compete in the Monaco Diamond League event on July 10 before Amanda likely ends her season.

The New York Yankees have been a mess lately, especially defensively.
The sputtering Yankees have lost 12 of their last 15 games, including nine of their last 10. Their offense has disappeared without Aaron Judge, averaging just 2.8 runs per game over their last 17 contests.
While the Bronx Bombers have fallen off a cliff at the plate, they've collapsed in the field as well. New York has committed a staggering 20 errors in its last 15 games, contributing to 29 unearned runs during that stretch.
According to Katie Sharp, that's the most unearned runs allowed by the Yankees in a 15-game stretch since 1935.

NEW YORK, July 2 (Reuters) - Meta Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg acknowledged shortcomings in the company's sweeping restructuring at an internal town hall on Thursday, saying the systems known as AI agents ‌had not progressed as quickly as he had expected, according to a recording heard by Reuters.
Zuckerberg added that ‌a company reorganization that included major job cuts was not as "clean" as it could have been and that executives had miscalculated on the timing of the changes.
Zuckerberg and other Meta executives have been seeking to moderate some of the organizational changes introduced earlier this year, without fundamentally changing course. The company laid off about 10% of its global workforce and reassigned roughly 7,000 employees to AI-focused teams in May, moves that prompted employee pushback and raised concerns about morale.
The changes were part of a broader restructuring aimed at funding costly investments in artificial intelligence ‌infrastructure and positioning Meta to capitalize on efficiency gains from AI-assisted work. Zuckerberg told employees in May that he did not expect further companywide layoffs this year, though some workers were skeptical.

Arthur Fery is the last British player left standing in the Wimbledon singles as he fought back from a set down to reach the third round, while compatriots Katie Swan, Jacob Fearnley and Jan Choinski all crashed out.
Only four home players reached the second round at the All England Club this week, with 15 Britons falling at the first hurdle - the highest number since 1988.
Fery became the first British man to win a first-round match when he rallied from a set down to beat Bosnia's Damir Dzumhur on Tuesday.
And the 23-year-old wildcard continued his winning streak in similar style against Finland's Otto Virtanen on Wednesday, battling back to seal a 5-7 7-6 (7-3) 6-3 6-3 victory on a packed-out court 18.

Katie Swan, Jacob Fearnley and Arthur Fery ensured there will be British representation in the Wimbledon singles second round - but 14 home players fell to opening-round defeats for the first time in 32 years.
The 10 defeats for British players on the opening day of their home Grand Slam was the most at SW19 since daily records began in 2000.
Further defeats for Katie Boulter, Jack Pinnington Jones, Billy Harris and debutant Harry Wendelken on Tuesday meant the total number of first-round losses for home players reached 14 for the first time since 1994.
But Swan, who considered retiring from tennis in 2024 because of a persistent back injury, avoided the same fate in her first Grand Slam appearance for three years as she became the first British player to progress this year with a 6-4 6-4 victory over Romania's Irina-Camelia Begu.
The 27-year-old threw herself to the ground as she celebrated the win - her first in the main draw of a major since she beat the same opponent at Wimbledon in 2018.

Arthur Fery was forced to wear earplugs to block out the complaints of furious Wimbledon opponent Damir Dzumhur, who collapsed spectacularly as the British wildcard advanced to the second round.
The 23-year-old Fery was confronted by Dzumhur, the 34-year-old world No 105, following a disputed 'let' call early in the second set. Following Dzumhur's meltdown, Fery won 17 of the next 20 games, winning 2-6 6-2 6-2 6-1 to become just the first British man to advance to the second round.
Dzumhur continued to remonstrate with Fery as they shook hands at the net. Fery patted Dzumhur on the back after following Katie Swan into the second round , with both victories taking place on Court 16.
The flashpoint that turned the match occurred while Bosnian was serving while up a break at 2-1 in the second. On 15-30, Fery returned his opponent's serve before Dzumhur hit a backhand slice into the net to bring up two break points for the British player.
Dzumhur, though, walked to the net with his arms outstretched. He claimed his serve hit the tape at the top of the net and said it should have been called as a 'let'.

Not too long ago, Katie Swan thought her playing days might be over.
Once hailed as one of Britain's brightest young talents, her promising career was derailed by injuries, and she found herself outside the world's top 1,000.
But on Tuesday, Swan became the first British player to reach the second round at this year's Wimbledon with victory over Romania's Irina-Camelia Begu.
It represented a "full-circle moment" for the 27-year-old, who claimed her first Grand Slam main-draw win against the same opponent at Wimbledon in 2018.
Given a wildcard into this year's championships, Swan rewatched her previous win over Begu to prepare for her SW19 return after three years away from the All England Club.
