NFP, the Aon-owned property and casualty (P&C) broker and benefits consultant, has acquired Moores Insurance Management, a multi-disciplinary risk management company based in Minnesota, US.
Established in 1987, Moores works with high-net-worth (HNW) individuals and businesses in 43 states, offering P&C insurance services to both commercial and personal-risk clients.
Under the agreement, Moores CEO Mark Moores will take on the role of senior vice-president, commercial P&C at NFP, reporting to Amanda Ruback, the company's managing director of P&C for the central region.
NFP personal risk president Brett Woodward said: "Moores is a long-standing risk management firm and this addition further establishes our presence in the Minnesota market and positions us well to continue delivering P&C insurance solutions for high-net-worth and commercial clients."
Jack Moores, who serves as president of Moores, will join NFP as senior vice-president of personal lines.

After sharing a social media post alleging medical negligence by the hospital over her son's care in June, she's expounding on how losing her son has prompted her to have a different feeling towards her homeland.
"My feelings toward Nigeria have changed," Adichie told The New York Times in a recent interview. When asked if the country still felt like somewhere close to her heart, she offered an even more blunt response.

EUGENE, Ore. — Oregon had gone an entire season without conceding a goal in the run of play. Rutgers needed four minutes and eleven seconds of the second half.
Amanda Thornton scored from the middle of the box off her right foot at 49:11, and that was the match. Rutgers beat Oregon 1-0 on Thursday at Papé Field in front of 673 to open Big Ten play with a win, and it did it while being outshot 20-16, out-cornered 8-1 and outshot on target 10-3. Olivia Bodmer made eleven saves and did not concede. Thornton's goal was the only shot Rutgers put on target in the second half.
Rutgers arrived at 1-1-3 with a week's rest and its first win of the season in the books, a 4-2 win over Princeton at Yurcak Field on Sept. 6 in which the Scarlet Knights surrendered the lead twice and won anyway. Lilia Calvert scored twice in four minutes after the 80th, the first two goals of her college career, on the only two shots she took. Ashley Baran and Sophia Stiles had the others. Three of the four goals came after the 70th minute, the stretch of the game this team could not survive eight days earlier against Providence. For the conference slate, Rutgers was picked 15th of 18 in the Big Ten preseason poll after missing the NCAA tournament last season for the first time since 2011.
Oregon was picked 18th, and arrived at 5-0-1.
The Ducks went unbeaten through nonconference play for only the second time since 1981, opened with their best six-game start since the 2016 team also went 5-0-1, and scored 17 goals, the program's most through six matches in 45 years. They had conceded one, a third-minute penalty at Santa Clara on Aug. 20, and nothing since. Their 0.17 goals-against average led the Big Ten and ranked seventh nationally. BP has appointed Ian Tyler as chair of the company, effective immediately, according to a Wednesday announcement.
Tyler joined BP's board as a non-executive director in April 2025 and was appointed interim chair in May after the oil giant ousted its former Chair and Director Albert Manifold over concerns related to his oversight and conduct.
BP named Tyler the permanent replacement to Manifold after conducting an extensive search process that included both internal and external candidates, the company said.
"Ian brings significant experience providing challenge and support to executive teams, while maintaining strong governance and oversight on behalf of shareholders," Amanda Blanc, BP's senior independent director, said in the announcement. "These qualities have been evident during his time as Interim Chair, where he has secured the confidence of the board and executive management through his considered leadership, judgement and integrity."

The SEC has taken a page out of the Big 12 playbook.
Displeased with unfavorable state-court rulings, the conferences turned to federal court. For the Big 12, a federal lawsuit prompted Texas Tech to abandon a plan to play quarterback Brendan Sorsby, who had won an injunction against an NCAA-imposed gambling suspension. For the SEC, the lawsuit against LSU, coach Lane Kiffin, and others has a goal of keeping LSU from adding players who have been on NFL 90-man rosters.
The lawsuit was filed Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Alabama.
Via Amanda Christovich of Front Office Sports, the complaint alleges that LSU and Kiffin "waged a deliberate and coordinated campaign to recruit professional athletes to play football for LSU during the 2026-27 season, including players who had signed NFL contracts with the Cleveland Browns, New Orleans Saints, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers."
The move comes on the same day a pending state-court lawsuit was due to return to court on the question of whether a temporary restraining order allowing LSU to add the former NFL players would proceed. It serves only to add to the current state of college-football chaos, which surely will be leveraged by the powers-that-be into renewed efforts to pass the Protect College Sports Act.

At 22, he's the youngest French Masters 1000 champion ever—and peaking as the draw opens up. After missing eight months with a stress fracture, he's reached the Doha final, Miami and Madrid semis, and won Barcelona and Cincinnati. In a tournament where Sinner is out, Alcaraz is rusty, and Djokovic is 39, I'm not saying it's likely—but I'm saying it's possible, and that's more than you can say for almost anyone else.
All eyes are pointed on Carlos Alcaraz, and rightfully so. I don't believe his team would have him play this event if he wasn't 100 percent healthy (wrist injuries are no joke; look at Dominic Thiem). That said, just because he is healthy does not mean he will have the consistency to win 21 sets.
In steps Alexander Zverev. The 29-year-old German got the Grand Slam monkey off his back at the French Open. He followed that up with a Wimbledon runner-up. Even before his ***** le in Paris, Zverev was a final eight mainstay at majors. With the pressure removed from looking for that elusive maiden slam, paired with his hunt for year-end No. 1, he is going to be very tough to beat in New York.

The Indiana Fever are ending the season incredibly strong as they continue to rack up wins. On Friday night, they comfortably took care of the Connecticut Sun.
Led by Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell, the team romped to a victory in which they scored 111 points. Clark and Mitchell combined to put up 68 of those.
Both stars had 34 points on the night, with Caitlin also grabbing five boards and dishing out 12 ***** ists. Mitchell recorded three rebounds and four ***** ists, too. It was another eye-catching performance.

Working in a furniture store—West Elm. A celebrity who will remain unnamed came in and ordered a ton of sh*t. It was gonna be a huge commission for me. I went to ring her up, and the card declined. She says, "I'll be back tomorrow." Never came back.

Who should play you in your biopic?
Olivia Rodrigo. You want someone younger and more beautiful than you to do it.

What's the most underrated movie, TV show, song, or album of all time?
Well, it wasn't underrated at the time, but I do think this new generation needs to get into The X Files. Gillian Anderson was my first celebrity crush. There's a new one coming out—Ryan Coogler's—it's gonna be amazing, I'm sure.

Rebel Wilson is being accused of funding efforts to publicly harm a Hollywood producer's reputation.
Amanda Ghost's latest filing in her defamation case against the actress, 46, includes alleged correspondence between Wilson and publicist Melissa Nathan that Ghost claims shows them discussing the creation of anonymous websites about her, according to documents filed Aug. 25 in Los Angeles Superior Court and obtained by USA TODAY.
Wilson's attorney, Allyson Thompson, addressed the allegations in a statement to USA TODAY, calling Ghost's motion "by its very nature, one-sided and thus incomplete. This case is in active litigation and involves thousands of documents and a large number of witnesses."
"There are two sides to every story and Ms. Wilson looks forward to telling her side at the trial in this disputed matter. There are key defense issues that will be addressed in due course," Thompson concluded.

Amanda Batula and West Wilson are clearly enjoying their summer away from Summer House.
The pair, who caused quite a scandal with their romance, proved they're still very much an item by sharing several pictures together this week on social media. On Tuesday, August 25, Batula, 35, posted a carousel of photos highlighting the couple's recent trip to New England.
"Weenies and martinis," she captioned the images, which show her and Wilson, 31, sharing PDA at a train station, on a boat and at a restaurant in Martha's Vineyard.

Newly filed court documents reveal a text exchange in which crisis publicist Melissa Nathan quoted Rebel Wilson $110,000 for an "untraceable site" amid Wilson's legal dispute with film producer Amanda Ghost.
The messages, which were produced in discovery and authenticated by Nathan during a deposition, were filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Aug. 25 as part of Ghost's ongoing lawsuit against Wilson and others, according to the motion to compel discovery obtained by PEOPLE.

Raquel Lee Bolleau, who began her career in Hollywood as a child actor on shows like The Amanda Show and The Proud Family, is suing Disney, alleging that a former employee raped her in 2001 while she was working on the film The Poof Point.
The actor, now 39, filed the lawsuit on Friday in Los Angeles County Superior Court. It accuses Disney of negligence, and further claims that a "middle-aged, male employee" working on the film groomed, ****** ually harassed, and raped her during the production, NBC News reports.
She claims in the lawsuit that the male employee was more than twice her age. The employee was not named in the lawsuit and is referred to as John Doe.
The male employee allegedly gave Bolleau alcohol and ****** aulted her while the cast of the film was in Salt Lake City and again on a flight from Salt Lake City back to California.
According to the lawsuit, the film's director, Neal Israel — who also directed the 1984 Tom Hanks film Bachelor Party and wrote for the sequel to Look Who's Talking, ****** led Look Who's Talking Too — allegedly told Bolleau to "bond with, get close to, and trust" the male employee.
