We find it hard to ignore charisma and correct for its absence. We're biased, hopelessly so, and there are far too many pitfalls on the landscape. So it is refreshing then, although incredibly rare, for a fighter in the debate to transcend the question altogether.
Is Katie Taylor the greatest?
Maybe. Her staggering amateur career, culminating in Olympic gold in 2012, preceded a professional run that saw her become undisputed champion at two weight classes and dominate the lightweight division for years. She fought the best fighters of her generation, avenged her only loss, and of all her peers in the GOAT debate, she boasts the greatest singular win, defeating Amanda Serrano in an all-time classic firefight at Madison Square Garden in 2022. She went on to defeat Serrano twice more.
Others also have a claim. You might prefer earlier pioneers like Ann Wolfe or Laila Ali, or current multi-weight queen Claressa Shields. There are arguments for all.

Ridden by Junior Alvarado, Knightsbridge ran 1 1/4 miles in 2:01.79. The 5-year-old horse had shipped to the seaside track north of San Diego from the East Coast after a win in the Monmouth Cup five weeks ago in New Jersey.
"He was kind of skipping over the ground," Alvarado said. "I had my hopes that when I asked him he would give me his best right when we turned for home. It was all heart there. He's a horse that has a lot of talent."
Knightsbridge was challenged over the opening mile by the speedy Full Serrano before shaking him off at the head of the stretch. The winner paid $4.20 as the wagering favorite.
Original Sin finished second. Full Serrano was another 1 1/2 lengths back in third in the West Coast's richest race.

According to sworn statements obtained by the Daily Mail, Aldana Serrano and Lucila Goitea arrived at the CasaSur Palermo at approximately 11:30 a.m. after Payne allegedly contacted Serrano through an escort website. Serrano initially questioned whether she was actually communicating with the world-famous singer and reportedly asked him to prove his identity.
"Liam contacted me via WhatsApp today (October 16, 2024) around 11 am. The whole time he spoke to me in English. He told me who he was and he sent me a video of him. Brown University economics professor Roberto Serrano criticized his school on Sunday for its slow response to a massive artificial intelligence (AI) cheating scandal among his students earlier this year.
In an op-ed for The Free Press, Serrano recounted that he announced that after a deadly shooting took place on campus in December, he opted to move his in-class midterm and final exam to an online, take-home format for the upcoming semester. As a result, he saw his course enrollment jump to 86 students, beating the course's previous record of 30 students enrolled at one time.
Serrano reported that the average grade of the online midterm was 96, significantly higher than the previous years' average of between 65 and 80. He also found that 40 students achieved a perfect score and detected answers that resembled responses provided by ChatGPT.

According to reports, Mourinho is happy with the core of his squad after several high-profile arrivals, although he is still pushing the club to strengthen in two key areas before the transfer window closes.
Mourinho's defensive setup already looks relatively clear. Summer signing Marc Cucurella is set to start at left-back, while Ibrahima Konate has been identified as one of the leaders of the new-look defence after arriving from Liverpool.
On the opposite flank, Denzel Dumfries is reportedly viewed as the first-choice right-back and one of the manager's guaranteed starters ahead of Trent Alexander-Arnold.
