Another day, another fall practice for the Washington Huskies.
That's how it felt for the first hour or so as Jedd Fisch's team went through its fourth straight day of practice before the entire roster, and the majority of the coaching staff formed two lines in the middle of the field. On one end stood senior punter Hunter Green, and on the other stood defensive quality control coach Korey Rush and defensive tackle Darin Conley.
Green, fresh off an appearance on the Ray Guy Award watch list, sent a pair of end-over-end punts booming down towards first Rush, and then Conley, both of whom secured the kicks with ease. Rush's catch meant the coaching staff got the rest of the day off, while Conley's meant that the day was over for the players ahead of Saturday night's mock game.
The celebration at midfield, as you might imagine, was raucous.
With the second scrimmage of the fall on the horizon, it was a lighter day for the Huskies in a practice that mainly consisted of individual drills and special teams work, but secondary coach John Richardson's unit still showed up, as junior nickelback Rahshawn Clark made one of the more notable plays for the day.

AFC Wimbledon are competing in League One for the second consecutive season, having secured safety after finishing 19th, four points clear of the drop zone. They secured promotion to the third tier in 2025, via the playoffs, ending their three-year stay in League Two.
The Dons' season started with a penalty shootout win against Newport County in the League Cup after a 1-1 draw in ordinary time.
Their league campaign however got off to a tough start last weekend, with Wimbledon losing 3-0 away to Huddersfield Town. They come into this weekend's game off the back of a 1-1 draw with Leyton Orient in the EFL Trophy, after conceding an 89th-minute equaliser.
The Dons claimed the bragging rights over the Royals in the league last season, beating Reading 1-2 at the Select Car Leasing Stadium in August last year before following up with a 3-2 win at The Cherry Red Records Stadium in February.
Reading did however claim a 2-1 win over the Dons in a League Cup second-round clash.

Former South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford (R) announced Friday he is backing GOP Rep. Ralph Norman (S.C.) in the race to serve a full term in the late Sen. Lindsey Graham's (R-S.C.) seat.
Sanford, who generally refrains from offering political endorsements, said in a statement shared on social media that he felt "compelled to offer" his perspective in the race after the national debt hit $40 trillion this week.
"As much as I would like to honor tradition and old friendships, the stakes are simply too high as our nation really is at a financial tipping point," the former governor said. "It's for these reasons and more that I will be voting for Ralph on Tuesday and respectfully ask that you do the same."
Sanford's endorsement comes ahead of the GOP primary runoff next Tuesday between Norman and Graham's sister, Sen. Darline Graham (R-S.C.), who was tapped to serve out the remainder of the late senator's term.
The race advanced to a runoff after neither candidate secured a majority of the vote in the state's Republican primary last week.

As Prince Harry and Meghan Markle prepare to take up residency again in the U.K. six years after giving up their royal roles, Markle will be serving up her fashion influence and continue running her brand, As Ever.
While millions around the globe are chiming in about what their surprise decision could mean to the modern monarchy, others speculated about how commercial prospects may have played into their decision to relocate with their two children Archie, 7, and Lillibet, 5. Much has happened since Princess Diana and King Charles III's younger son lost his honorary military and royal patronage appointments in 2021.
The prince spelled out his many grievances with his kin in his memoir "Spare," and the pair sounded off in an interview with Oprah Winfrey. Harry has also openly criticized his home country for not providing his family of four with security. As for how that will be handled in a few weeks upon their return, Prime Minister Andy Burnham described that as "a private matter."
Although King Charles III and Queen Camilla were reunited with Harry's two children earlier this month at the monarch's private country estate Highgrove House, Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales, were not there. The strained relations between Harry and his brother continue to be scrutinized on social media and in traditional media.
David Haigh, founder and chief executive officer of the independent brand evaluation consultancy firm Brand Finance, said, "My take is they clearly haven't succeeded in America like they thought they would."
Acknowledging how Harry and Markle each have critics and loyalists, Haigh said that Harry is "much more highly regarded in the U.K. than Markle is. And the dynamic will shift much more in his favor."
To that point, the latest YouGov public opinion poll of Harry gives him a 27 percent popularity ranking and Markle an 18 percent rating. But Markle has a track record for boosting designers' sales by wearing their label. She sported 16 Australian labels during a trip Down Under in April. That resulted in a total of $51.6 million in media impact value over a four-day stretch, according to Launchmetrics.
Carolina Herrera, Heidi Merrick, Dior, Valentino, Mackage, Emilia Wickstead, Victoria Beard, Reformation, Jason Wu and Anine Bing are among the many brands that 45-year-old Markle has rotated into her wardrobe. In addition to launching the lifestyle brand As Ever in the spring of last year, the former "Suits" actress and her husband were the executive producers for the documentary "Cookie Queens" about American Girl Scouts' cookie selling.

Last month, she earned an Emmy nomination for her Netflix lifestyle series "With Love, Meghan." In September 2020, the husband-and-wife team's Archewell Productions secured a multiyear deal with Netflix, which was reportedly in the $60 million to $100 million range.

In professional sports, contract negotiations are typically viewed as solitary journeys driven by agents and personal statistics. However, inside the Pittsburgh Steelers' locker room, defensive tackle Keeanu Benton and outside linebacker Nick Herbig proved that friendly competition can be the ultimate catalyst for financial and professional success.
The two defensive standouts, who were college teammates at Wisconsin before joining the Steelers' 2023 draft class, leaned heavily on their bond to navigate the high-stakes offseason that led to extensions for both players.
Speaking on "Not Just Football with Cam Heyward," Benton detailed how his relationship with Herbig fueled his drive to earn his new four-year extension, reportedly worth $72 million.
"It's crazy, man. We do everything together," Benton said when reflecting on signing extensions in the same offseason as Herbig. "You got to compete, man. I think that's what drives our relationship, our friendship, you know, the competition aspect."
That competitive spark burned brightest after Herbig secured his four-year, $100 million extension first, sharpening Benton's focus during training and preparation.

A Bloomberg report on August 18 revealed that BP plc (NYSE:BP) has become the latest foreign company to enter the Venezuelan oil trade, with the tanker Monte Lema loading 400,000 barrels of heavy fuel oil for the British energy giant. The oil is being supplied by the state-owned PDVSA. The strategic move places BP among a select group of companies, including trading giants Trafigura and Vitol, with direct access to Venezuelan oil.
The development comes a few days after it was announced that the London-based company would partner with two other firms to develop the second phase of the Loran gasfield, in one of the first large-scale foreign investments in the South American country since the ouster of Nicolás Maduro earlier this year. That said, while the consortium has secured the official exploration and production license, the project remains in the pre-FID phase.
The developments come after President Trump called for global oil companies to invest in Venezuela and help restore and modernize its dilapidated oil infrastructure. The South American nation is sitting on the largest proven crude oil reserves in the world, accounting for roughly 17% of the global total. However, the oil-rich country's government nationalized major heavy oil projects in 2007, forcing foreign operators into minority stakes or outright seizing their **** ets.
As a relatively early mover, BP plc (NYSE:BP) stands to gain a lot from a gradual revival of Venezuelan oil output. The company appears to be positioning itself across multiple areas of Venezuela's energy value chain – from exploration to production, to trading and international marketing. It means that the energy giant could benefit from the country in many ways as it reconnects with global energy markets.
Moreover, BP's entry into the Venezuelan oil trade could give it an opportunity to capture trading margins in addition to upstream earnings. This could be particularly beneficial for the company as it could potentially leverage its already existing refining, marketing, shipping, and trading infrastructure in the region. Although Trafigura and Vitol have an early foothold in Venezuela's oil trading business, BP's large integrated energy business gives it a significant competitive edge.

Paige Bueckers and Caitlin Clark had a small altercation during the Indiana Fever's loss to the Dallas Wings on Thursday.
Caitlin Clark and Paige Bueckers are widely considered by many WNBA fans as the two young superstars fighting to become the face of the league.
Both have been enjoying excellent seasons with their respective teams, who clashed once again on Thursday. The Dallas Wings secured the win, but it was a tight contest.
Emotions always run high in games of this magnitude. And when they boiled over between Bueckers and Clark during the game, it was a moment that made fans take notice.

Leeds United are closing in on Eintracht Frankfurt goalkeeper Michael Zetterer, according to The Athletic.
Leeds have already secured a club-record deal for James Trafford, so Zetterer is expected to come in as an understudy to the England international.
That move would also force the Peacocks to make a decision on Lucas Perri's future, although the experienced keeper could be on his way out of Elland Road this summer.
Leeds signed Perri from Ligue 1 giants Olympique Lyon last summer, and he came in as their first-choice goalkeeper.
However, Trafford's arrival automatically pushes the Brazilian down the pecking order, although he's not short on potential suitors with clubs across Europe showing interest.

Paige Bueckers' heated Caitlin Clark sequence could lead to WNBA fine originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
A one-on-one matchup between Paige Bueckers and Caitlin Clark ended with a whistle, a heated complaint and a potential fine for the Dallas Wings star. The sequence unfolded during the fourth quarter of Thursday night's game between the Wings and Indiana Fever. After Makayla Timpson secured a defensive rebound, she delivered the ball to Clark, who pushed it up the floor.
Bueckers attempted to stop Clark in transition but was called for a personal foul. The former UConn star immediately disputed the decision and appeared to argue that Clark had used her arm to create separation. The disagreement continued long enough for the official to **** s Bueckers a technical foul.
The technical initially was reported as Bueckers' second of the season, according to Athlon Sports. However, her first technical, issued during a May 22 game against the Atlanta Dream, later was rescinded. If Thursday's call is upheld, it would count as Bueckers' first official technical of the year.
WNBA players are fined $500 for each of their first three technical fouls. The penalty increases to $1,000 for technicals four through seven. An eighth technical results in a $1,500 fine and a one-game suspension, with another suspension following every second technical after that threshold. That means Bueckers could receive a $500 fine following the Clark sequence.

Layoffs and facility closures are mounting across U.S. freight, distribution and manufacturing networks, with more than 7,000 jobs affected by recently announced workforce reductions involving companies ranging from Tyson Foods and FedEx to Ryder, CJ Logistics America and Daimler Truck.
The largest reduction comes from Tyson Foods, which is reportedly eliminating more than 3,000 jobs as it closes facilities in Joslin, Illinois, and Eagle Mountain, Utah. The food giant said it is shifting beef operations toward Nebraska, Kansas and Texas amid what it described as a historic cattle shortage.
Wholesale distributor Essendant also warned of sweeping cuts affecting more than 1,200 employees across six states as the company attempts to secure additional capital or find a buyer.
WARN notices show approximately 644 jobs affected in Illinois, 192 in Georgia, 150 in Pennsylvania, 136 in Texas, 103 in California and 53 in Arizona. The reductions are scheduled to begin Oct. 3. The company has warned that it could cease operations and liquidate if financing or a sale cannot be secured.
The announcements are part of a broader wave of restructuring hitting transportation, warehousing, fulfillment and manufacturing operations.

AI and semiconductors thrived, with 25% earnings growth. The quarter underscored a key principle: risk is priced continuously but resolved discontinuously. In addition, please check the Fund's top five holdings to know its best picks in 2026.
In its Q2 2026 investor letter, Crossroads Capital highlighted Nebius Group N.V. (NASDAQ:NBIS). Nebius Group N.V. Crossroads Capital stated the following regarding Nebius Group N.V. (NASDAQ:NBIS) in its Q2 2026 investor letter:
"Eighteen months ago, Nebius Group N.V. On August 12th, the company reported a second quarter with $582.3 million in revenue and a 50% adjusted EBITDA margin in its core AI cloud business. Today Nebius is an AI infrastructure platform with roughly $46B of committed contract value from Microsoft and Meta, priority Nvidia silicon secured through Nvidia's own $2B equity stake, and a target of almost 5 GW of contracted power by year-end(with over 75% of it owned rather than leased). Moreover, it has a funding structure in which roughly 50-60% of capex is covered by customer prepayments; the balance was raised this spring as $4B of oversubscribed convertibles with coupons of 1.25% and 2.625%. Bitcoin (CRYPTO: $BTC) mining company Bitdeer Technologies Group's (NASDAQ: $BTDR) artificial intelligence division, Bitdeer AI, has secured a five-year contract covering roughly half of its A102 AI data center in Malaysia before the facility is energized.
The undisclosed customer, described by Bitdeer as being of "high credit quality," has committed to approximately 50% of A102's 9.5-megawatt capacity, according to a Wednesday announcement. The agreement is expected to generate about $400 million in revenue over five years.
Bitdeer said the contract will not contribute to revenue this year. Services are expected to start in the first quarter of 2027, when the company will begin recognizing revenue and related costs.

After the game, Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve had a slight update to give on Miles' ankle situation, but even she didn't really know herself.

The time is quickly approaching when the Dallas Cowboys will have to make some tough decisions in order to get under the league mandated 53-man roster limit. Many players have the ease of mind that their roster spot is secured, leaving those currently sitting on the bubble fighting for one of the few spots still open. It's a few of those players we wanted to shine the light on today.
After hauling in three INTs in the scrimmage with the Los Angeles Rams and a another strong showing against the Seattle Seahawks in the first preseason game, Justin Barron has suddenly gone from a roster longshot to someone who will be difficult to cut. He seems to have grown leaps and bounds from last year to this after joining the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent out of Syracuse, pushing Shemar James and Curtis Robinson for one of the final LB roster spots.
Can the Cowboys afford to carry five safeties on the active roster? Probably not, but Julius Wood is certainly making his case they should. He's been impressive throughout training camp and it's carried over so far into preseason. He's known more as a downhill number from the safety position, but has played deep, in the box, and slot for Christian Parker. That versatility and position flex is worth keeping around. He was cut last year, can he avoid that fate a second time?
Tommy Dunn, an undrafted free agent out of Kentucky this year, is starting make some waves along the Cowboys defensive front recently. He was credited with four total pressures in Saturday's preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks and has proven to be a strong run defender, both at the point of attack and in pursuit. With the players ahead of them on the depth chart and the number of DTs the Cowboys will likely carry on the active roster, he someone they do ideally prefer to clear waivers and re-sign to the practice squad.

Lazio have reportedly secured the services of Croatian defender Josip Sutalo after reaching a full accord with Ajax.
This has been an eventful day for the Biancocelesti, who were supposed to complete the signing of Senegalese striker Bamba Dieng on a free transfer, but the deal has been called off due to a failed medical. But while Claudio Lotito and Angelo Fabiani are back to square one on the attacking front, they have apparently solved their defensive dilemma.
According to multiple sources in the Italian media, including Gianluca Di Marzio, Fabrizio Romano, and Damiano Er Faina, Lazio and Ajax have reached a final agreement on Sutalo's transfer. The 26-year-old will join the Italian capital side on an initial loan for €3 million with an option to buy set at €7.5 million, while the Amsterdam-based giants would receive a 10% cut in case of a future resale.
Sutalo is a Dynamo Zagreb youth product who climbed his way up the ranks to become a stalwart for both club and country. In 2023, he earned a €20 million move to Ajax and went on to make 108 appearances for the Dutch club.
The Croatian international will join a centre-back department that includes Oliver Provstgaard and fellow new signing Danilho Doekhi, while Alessio Romagnoli's fate remains undecided, and Patric and Samuel Gigot are dealing with career-threatening long-term injuries.

Arsenal have been handed a boost ahead of their match against Coventry, as the Premier League new boys have lost one of their key players to injury.
Coventry know the challenge they will face when they step onto the pitch against defending champions ******* nal, so they will want all their best players available for the game. However, Frank Lampard will be without Haji Wright, who has been sidelined for several weeks because of injury.

Tom Brady was not exactly backing the New England Patriots ahead of their Super Bowl clash against the Seattle Seahawks earlier this year.
Despite being former teammates with Mike Vrabel and the Patriots' greatest-ever player, Brady opted to remain neutral ahead of the game.
It was the Seahawks who secured their revenge for their infamous Super Bowl XLIX defeat against the Patriots.
However, there will be some Patriots fans who will have been left feeling slightly uncomfortable by Brady's stance ahead of the Super Bowl.
Head coach of the Patriots, Vrabel, was not one of them, though, as he shared his stance on what Brady had to say ahead of his team's Super Bowl in February.

Wolves are in the market for attacking depth and Amario Cozier-Duberry has moved firmly into view. According to TeamTalk, Wolves are exploring a deal for the Brighton winger, though West Ham are in the same conversation and Rangers have already tested the water.
The basics are clear. Brighton value the 21-year-old at £10million and have already turned down a £7million bid from Rangers. That tells you two things straight away. First, Brighton think there is real upside here. Second, any club hoping to haggle their way to a discount is wasting time.
Cozier-Duberry is not a random punt. He "impressed on loan with Bolton Wanderers last season, contributing nine goals and 13 ******* ists as Bolton secured promotion from League One via the play-offs." Those are serious numbers for a wide player. Add in Championship experience at Blackburn Rovers in 2024/25 and there is at least a working case that he is ready for the next step.
IMAGO | Anfield Index
TeamTalk reports that Wolves "view the 21-year-old as a potential reinforcement in a key area" and that they "have begun ******* sing the conditions of a deal." That sounds like sensible groundwork rather than empty noise. Wolves need more directness, more end product and more players who can attack from either side. Cozier-Duberry appears to tick each box.

On August 7, Kodiak Gas Services (NYSE:KGS) held its second-quarter 2026 earnings call, and the numbers backed up the excitement. Revenue climbed 21% year-over-year to $391 million, while adjusted EBITDA hit a company record of $217 million, up 22% from a year earlier. Adjusted net income landed at $54 million, or $0.55 per diluted share. Management used the call to lay out how Kodiak plans to turn a compression business already running near full capacity into a much bigger power infrastructure company by 2030.
Kodiak's core contract compression business kept climbing. The company ended the quarter with 4.4 million revenue-generating horsepower and fleet utilization of 98.2%, and it priced that equipment at $23.80 per horsepower, a 4.5% increase from a year ago. Compression infrastructure adjusted gross margin reached 70% for a second straight quarter, up 170 basis points year-over-year, even as the company absorbed higher lube oil costs tied to the war in Iran. Kodiak has already locked in large horsepower compressor packages for 2027 through 2029 and is roughly 50% contracted for next year's deliveries, giving it unusual visibility into future revenue.
The bigger story is power. Kodiak signed a multiyear turbine supply deal with Baker Hughes for 1 gigawatt of capacity by 2030, with an option to grow that to 1.8 gigawatts, and it has secured about 1.8 gigawatts of power generation overall toward its 2-gigawatt target. The current power fleet is about 90% utilized, and the company executed a limited notice to proceed on a West Texas data center project tied to a hyperscaler, invoicing an initial deposit while it negotiates a long-term contract to begin supplying power in early 2027. Total capital spending among the top four hyperscalers rose roughly 80% year over year in the quarter, a demand backdrop Kodiak is positioning to serve.
Power infrastructure remains far less profitable than compression for now. The segment generated $33 million in revenue with an adjusted gross margin of 65%, well below compression's 70%, and building it out is expensive: Kodiak estimates roughly $1.2 million per megawatt before balance of plant costs. Power infrastructure growth capital spending alone was $134 million in the quarter. Net debt stood at about $2.6 billion at quarter-end, and while an $836 million equity raise in May pushed leverage down to 3.1 times, a company-record low, that debt load will grow as gigawatt-scale turbine and power projects come online through 2030. The West Texas data center deal, still under negotiation, also underscores how much of Kodiak's power growth depends on locking in long-term contracts with a small number of hyperscale counterparties.
