Joe Manganiello is opening up about the brutal health battle that nearly upended his life — a story at odds with the rugged, larger-than-life persona he's built on screen for decades.
The True Blood and Magic Mike actor's new memoir, Bloodlines, traces a seven-year medical odyssey that began with what he describes as "a cascade of autoimmune-related illnesses," People reported Tuesday, June 23.
The illness attacked his skin, thyroid, eyes, lungs and digestive system, plunging him into seven years marked by "chronic pain, a life-saving organ amputation, existential crisis and a prolonged fight for survival that left doctors with few answers and no clear explanation," per the book's publisher Simon & Schuster.
When modern medicine came up short, Manganiello, 49, details how he turned to an unconventional path that included shamans, pagan rituals and ancient myths, ultimately tracing his own bloodline to uncover ancestors shaped by violence, displacement and chronic illness.
"It was the most brutally difficult time of my life, one I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy, but also my greatest adventure," Manganiello said, according to People. "I hope that what I went through on this journey can give readers hope that answers and healing may lie for them on the other side of whatever they are fighting through. The process of writing this book gave me the gift of perspective that helped me to see that my suffering was a cocoon from which I would emerge forever changed."

Prince William recently celebrated his 44th birthday with his loved ones. However, a source has revealed an embarrassing moment that once left the future monarch red-faced, thanks to his late mother, Princess Diana. The late princess did something mischievous on his 13th birthday that might've been too much for him.
Prince William celebrated his 44th birthday on Father's Day on June 21. And while his birthday celebration must have been planned thoughtfully by his wife, Kate Middleton, it's highly unlikely to resemble his 13th birthday. As per a source, his teen birthday left him "red-faced," thanks to Diana's cake design.
To mark William's 13th birthday, precisely 31 years ago, Diana played a mischievous prank by commissioning a rather risqué birthday cake. Rather than ordering a normal cake, the late princess asked for a **** cake for William. Former Buckingham Palace chef Darren McGrady revealed to **** o! magazine that when he came to work that morning, he opened the refrigerator door and was surprised to see the "biggest pair of **** " he had ever seen in his life.
"The Princess had ordered a **** cake for William's 13th birthday," revealed McGrady. "I wish I'd taken a photograph of it! I didn't know anything about it, I just thought, 'Oh my gosh.' I asked the butler, 'What on earth is this?' and he said the Princess had ordered it for William's birthday."
McGrady further revealed that the late princess loved to play pranks on people. "The Princess loved embarrassing people in the nicest way, in a fun way, whether it was telling a dirty, risqué joke – which usually got me. William just went bright-red," the former palace chef added.

When it comes to dominating the ring and then taking Hollywood by storm, no group does it quite like professional wrestlers. These larger-than-life personalities don't just captivate crowds with championship belts, they break through on red carpets and big screens, showcasing a charisma built under the brightest of spotlights. As actors, they shatter stereotypes and win over new fans, proving that transitioning from wrestling superstars to leading movie or television stars is as natural as a body slam. Here are the wrestling legends seen both in the ring and on the silver screen.

With a persona that's defined generations, the late Hulk Hogan took his fame from the wrestling ring to pop-culture stardom. From family films to reality TV, he became a household name beyond wrestling fans, and was among the first wrestlers to cross over into Hollywood and gain mainstream recognition, according to F4W Online.
Bill Goldberg bulldozed through WCW and WWE, creating an aura of dominance celebrated in and out of the ring. He rose to fame in WCW with a lengthy undefeated streak in singles competition from 1997 to 1998, going an unprecedented 173-0, which is considered the longest winning streak in professional wrestling, per WWE.com. Speculation surrounding Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's rumored wedding plans continues to grow. However, several people close to Swift reportedly have trouble believing one particular claim making the rounds. Recent reports have suggested that Swift and Kelce could tie the knot at Madison Square Garden. According to insiders, some people who know the pop star well are skeptical about that idea.
"This doesn't sound like Taylor," one source reportedly said. "It sounds like something the Kardashians would do." While Swift has never shied away from sharing personal experiences through her music, sources claim there is a major difference between drawing inspiration from her private life and turning her wedding into a large-scale public spectacle.
One insider said that Taylor Swift has spent years carefully managing the balance between her public life and her privacy, even while sharing personal experiences. "Taylor has always used her personal life in her work," the source explained. "But that's very different from getting married at one of the most famous venues in the world."
According to another friend, the rumored venue feels more like a major entertainment production than a traditional wedding celebration. "A wedding at Madison Square Garden feels like a production," the source said. "Not a wedding."
The reports have sparked a lot of discussion among people following the couple's relationship. Some insiders have reportedly joked about how unusual the idea sounds. They questioned whether such a famous venue would make the wedding feel more like a concert than a private ceremony. One source even joked about whether the event would include ticket sales, a livestream, or a partnership with Ticketmaster.
