ChargePoint (CHPT) surged 39% YTD to $9.20, with the entire gain compressed into the past month alone.
Peers Blink Charging (BLNK) and EVgo (EVGO) are down 18% and 53% YTD, leaving ChargePoint's rally entirely without peer support.
Breaking $10 requires the same concentrated buyers to keep absorbing supply, and no broad charging market recovery will carry it there on its own.
Just released. Our ******* ysts combed the entire stock market and named the ten best stocks to buy right now, and ChargePoint didn't make the cut. Enter your email to see the names that beat CHPT. The report is free. Enter your email and see if any of your stocks made the cut.
ChargePoint Holdings (NYSE:CHPT) stock is up 38% year to date (YTD) and trades at $9.18 midday Friday, putting the EV-charging name within striking distance of $10. ChargePoint stock is up 46% over the past month, which means the entire 2026 advance has arrived inside the last four weeks. That timing turns a routine year-to-date figure into a concentrated story about one stock's recent bid.

Solana (SOL) has gone up by 44% in the past 30 days, and bulls have managed to defend the $100 psychological support in the past few days, as demand seems resilient to macroeconomic woes.
Trading volumes jumped by 64% in the past 24 hours, after the token bounced strongly off the $100 threshold. At $3.5 billion, this level of activity accounts for nearly 6% of the ****** et's circulating market cap.
Last week, after a brief drop to 50%, the odds of a rate hike in September by the Federal Reserve jumped back to 58%, following a better-than-expected jobs report in the United States.
However, President Donald Trump has addressed Fed officials directly, and the rhetoric between the White House and the country's central bank seems to be getting heated.
Trump's administration is pressuring the Fed to lower rates during the next FOMC meeting, but the latest minutes indicate that the Committee is actually leaning toward a rate hike.

Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) hit major sales milestones in the second quarter of 2026, when it reported $28.2 billion in revenue and surpassed $100 billion in trailing revenue for the first time ever. Despite that, the sentiment around Tesla is largely negative, and its share price is down 21% this year (as of Aug. 27).
I own Tesla stock, and I have no plans of selling. Although the brand has taken a hit, Tesla still excels in several areas, and it's moving into new markets with exciting growth opportunities.

One of the reasons I first invested in Tesla was the popularity of its cars -- I was seeing them everywhere. In 2024, and even more so in 2025, Tesla sales fell, but they have bounced back this year. It reported 480,126 vehicle deliveries in Q2 2026, a 25% year-over-year increase. Automotive revenue totaled $20.5 billion.
Tesla is the second-largest EV manufacturer after BYD. It's essentially a two-horse race at the top of the EV market, and while BYD is strong competition for Tesla internationally, it doesn't sell consumer EVs in the U.S. due to a 100% tariff on Chinese EVs.

In the second quarter, Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE: BRKA)(NYSE: BRKB) was a net buyer of stocks for the first time in several years. Although the large investment in Google parent Alphabet (NASDAQ: GOOG)(NASDAQ: GOOGL) received the most headlines, there were several other investments Berkshire made that shared a common theme: housing.
To be clear, Berkshire Hathaway CEO Greg Abel hasn't specifically said that he's anticipating a housing recovery. But all the signs point to Berkshire betting big that the near-stagnant housing market in the United States will turn around.

The Vanguard Dividend Appreciation ETF (NYSEMKT:VIG) focuses on companies with a consistent history of increasing dividends, while the Fidelity High Dividend ETF (NYSEMKT:FDVV) targets stocks with the highest current yield potential.
Both funds offer exposure to dividend-paying U.S. equities, yet they follow distinct methodologies. VIG emphasizes dividend growth and quality, providing a more conservative profile. In contrast, FDVV seeks higher immediate income through a sector-neutral-lite strategy, resulting in a significant concentration in the technology sector.

Saudi Arabia's Arabian Drilling Company has secured a new offshore drilling contract in Oman covering as many as four wells, extending the company's push beyond its domestic market.
The Saudi-listed drilling contractor signed the agreement with Masirah Oil Limited and Northern Offshore Ltd for two firm wells plus two optional wells. Operations are expected to begin before the end of the third quarter of 2026.
Arabian Drilling did not disclose the contract value but said the deal is expected to contribute to its 2026 financial results and strengthen its backlog and future revenue visibility.
The contract follows the early completion of Arabian Drilling's first international offshore **** ignment and the subsequent redeployment of its jack-up rig elsewhere in the Gulf Cooperation Council region.
The new campaign could also provide a boost to Oman's Block 50, located in the Arabian Sea off the country's east coast. Masirah Oil holds a 100% interest in the concession, which contains the producing Yumna oil field.

The massive investment in building AI data centers is one of the biggest storylines this year. It coincides with a similar headline. Power is the biggest bottleneck in developing this crucial AI infrastructure. That's driving robust demand for all forms of power, including gas, nuclear, and battery storage.
However, data centers aren't the only AI infrastructure that requires power. The companies manufacturing the chips, servers, and other equipment vital to these facilities also need energy. That's providing an additional opportunity for Bloom Energy (NYSE: BE) to cash in on the AI power story. The hydrogen fuel cell company recently expanded its partnership with MiTAC Computing Technology, a leader in high-performance, energy-efficient server solutions for AI data centers.
Missed Nvidia in 2009? This Rare Signal Is Flashing Again. In 2009, a "Double Down" signal flashed for a little-known chipmaker called Nvidia. For the first time in years, that same "Total Conviction" signal is flashing for a company 1/100th the size of Nvidia. Continue »
Bloom Energy will deploy fuel cell systems for an islanded microgrid at MiTEC's AI server manufacturing campus in Fremont, California. It's an expansion of its existing partnership with MiTEC. Bloom has also installed a fuel cell microgrid at the company's San Jose manufacturing facility.
Companies like MiTEC are facing the same power constraints as AI data center developers. They need more power quickly, which is an issue given the time required for permitting and grid interconnection. They can't wait for the grid to supply their needs, which is why they're turning to Bloom Energy's rapidly deployable onsite power solutions.

Option prices are surging for stocks but are relatively subdued for the SPY. In the chart below, I compare the implied volatility (IV) of individual stocks with the IV of the SPY (an ETF based on the S&P 500 Index) using weekly options that expire the following week. Specifically, I calculated the average IV of individual stocks at the end of each week and compared it to the SPY IV.
The chart below is color-coded, highlighting that over the past ten weeks, the average IV of individual stocks has been around 50% (blue), a historically high level. Meanwhile, the SPY average IV has remained relatively low at about 13.5% (orange). This has pushed the spread between the two close to 36% (black), the highest level in my data dating back to 2016.
This is an interesting situation, and this week I'll examine the historical data to see what this has typically meant for the short-term options trading environment.
We would normally expect IVs on individual stocks to correlate with IVs on the SPY, and that's typically the case. However, there are times when they diverge, as they have now.
It makes sense if traders expect big moves from individual stocks, but they expect the big moves in both directions. That could result in little movement from the broad index. In other words, the options market is pricing in large, but uncorrelated, moves in individual stocks.

The $24,000 lump sum requires a 20-year horizon to break even with $100/month payments, favoring the pension only if you outlive that mark.
Investing the lump sum in a high-yield savings account at an APY somewhere between 4% and 4.5% generates roughly $80 to $90 per month while preserving the full $24,000 principal.
A direct rollover into a Traditional IRA avoids a mandatory 20% IRS withholding, income taxes, and a potential 10% early withdrawal penalty.

DETROIT, July 30 (Reuters) - Ford CEO Jim Farley told employees in a town hall on Thursday that the company is preparing for the possibility that Chinese automakers could enter the American market in the ‌next five to 10 years, even though the country has erected numerous trade barriers to cars from China, ‌according to three people who viewed the meeting.
Farley has been among the most vocal about how competitive Chinese auto giants like BYD are in the industry. Ford is preparing to roll out a family of affordable electric vehicles that it engineered from the ground up to match the cost and efficiency of the Chinese companies.
The Ford chief, along with other senior leaders, said in a question-and-answer portion of the town hall that it is more likely Chinese companies would enter the market at the latter end of that range. The comments come as the ‌U.S. Senate is pushing to expand a ban on Chinese car sales in the world's second-largest and most lucrative auto market.
A Ford spokesperson declined to comment on discussions that took place during a private meeting with employees.

Intuitive Surgical (ISRG) stock tumbled Tuesday, alongside shares of other medtech leaders like Abbott Laboratories (ABT), Stryker (SYK) and Medtronic (MDT), after HCA Healthcare trimmed its full-year earnings outlook, suggesting a drop in surgical procedures.
HCA Healthcare, the largest for-profit hospital operator, said inpatient surgeries declined 2.3% while outpatient procedures fell 3.4% in the second quarter compared with the year-ago period.
As a result, HCA now projects $6.3 billion to $6.7 billion in net income and adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization, or EBITDA, of $15.4 billion to $16.1 billion. That's down from the prior outlook for roughly $6.5 billion to $7.04 billion in net income and adjusted EBITDA of $15.55 billion to $16.45 billion.
HCA also narrowed its sales guidance, now projecting $77 billion to $79.5 billion. The midpoint of the new outlook, $78.25 billion, matches the company's prior view.
