Some of the world's best riders are ready to take on Welsh roads as the Tour of Britain Women comes to Wales for two days.
The biggest women's road cycling race in the UK, which began in ***** bria on Wednesday and ends in Warwickshire on Sunday, 23 August, is taking place across five stages for the first time, with two of them in Wales.
Stage three will see riders tackle a 104.7km route from Mold to the iconic Great Orme in Llandudno, then on Saturday they travel 138.3km from Llanidloes to Hay-on-Wye for stage four, with both stages promising a challenging weekend of racing.
It will be the first time Mold has hosted the start of a stage and the first time the area has hosted the women's race, with Flintshire having previously welcomed the men's Tour.
Powys will again welcome riders to its roads on Saturday, having hosted stages of both the women's and men's races in the area since 2010.

Honoka Hamano scored twice for Georgia in the "Soccer in Sanford" match honoring the 30th anniversary of the United States women's gold-medal victory over China in the 1996 Olympics at the iconic 93,033-seat football stadium.
The crowd broke the women's mark of 14,410 set in the 1999 NCAA championship between North Carolina and Notre Dame in San Jose, California. The previous overall mark was 22,512 for a 1980 men's game at Busch Stadium in St. Louis between Saint Louis and Southern Illinois-Edwardsville.

The thought process for Cignetti and Indiana with Josh Hoover is similar to what we saw with Mendoza. Take a talented player away from TCU - a medicore team and a struggling program - and put him in Bloomington with other well-coached Hoosiers. The hope for Indiana is that Hoover takes off much as Mendoza did.
Purely as an athlete, Josh Hoover can compare with Fernando Mendoza. He can run. He can throw. He can make plays. However, Mendoza was special - elite and even legendary - as a crunch-time performer. Mendoza got bigger, not smaller, in late-game pressure situations. He shrugged off huge mistakes in multiple games. He could play poorly for a quarter or two but then regroup and deliver when his team needed it. The mental toughness of Fernando Mendoza, shown on his iconic touchdown run to win the national championship against Miami, is what we can't ***** ign to Josh Hoover right now. Hoover needs to show he has the inner steel Mendoza displayed. Until then, it's all speculation.
Josh Hoover has not earned the benefit of the doubt. Curt Cignetti, however, has. It's a question of whether the coach can lift the quarterback or if the QB drags down the best coach in college football. The way this situation breaks in Indiana will have a profound domino effect on the Big Ten, and very possibly USC, in 2026.

His office was inside an empty, sprawling headquarters a few miles from PepsiCo (PEP) in Purchase, N.Y., and next to a furry friend.
"It was a big learning. One of the things that I picked up was it's good to be in the office," Miebach said on the Power Players with Brian Sozzi podcast (see video above; listen below) inside that same sprawling headquarters. "So every day, I drove to the office, including my predecessor, who was our executive chair for a period of time. … One gentleman from our canteen company was brave enough to come in this office. It was five of us and a security person. One of my colleagues brought his dog because his dog sitter wasn't around any longer. And this was the think tank."

Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA) has become an iconic company over the years, with its chips playing an integral role in the build-out taking place in the tech sector, as businesses invest heavily in artificial intelligence (AI). At around $5.5 trillion in market cap, it's easily the most valuable publicly traded stock.
Over the past 12 months, the stock has risen by 25%, as growth investors don't appear concerned about its valuation. The company has continued to grow at a high rate, and it's arguably not all that expensive based on earnings. With much more growth still on the horizon and tech spending not appearing to slow down, could Nvidia hit a $10 trillion valuation by 2030?

Its profit was also more than the revenue it generated in the prior-year period: $44 billion.
Given the company's fantastic results and tech businesses' continued heavy spending on AI and reliance on Nvidia's chips, it's entirely conceivable that the tech stock could rise further. While it may look expensive based on its market cap alone, the stock itself isn't obscenely valued, as it's trading at a forward price-to-earnings multiple of 26, based on ******* yst projections for how it will do in the year ahead. Although that is higher than the S&P 500 average of 21, a premium is certainly warranted for one of the best growth stocks in the market these days.

Earlier this week, iconic former Boston Celtics head coach Doc Rivers was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame, introduced to the Hoops Hall by a trio of Celtics Hall of Fame players he helped hang Boston's Banner 17 with, Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, and Ray Allen.

Washington DC has hosted presidential inaugurations, World Series parades and Fourth of July celebrations. Now, IndyCar is coming to the streets of the nation's capital.
The inaugural Freedom 250 Grand Prix will bring open-wheel racing to a temporary 1.66-mile street race winding through downtown D.C. The seven-turn course will guide drivers past some of the city's most iconic landmarks, including the U.S. Capitol, Washington Monument and several Smithsonian museums.
The race weekend, scheduled for Aug. 22-23, will feature practice, qualifying and the main race, giving fans a chance to see IndyCar drivers navigate a course unlike any other on the series calendar.
The race has already made its presence felt across downtown DC, with road closures and construction weeks underway as crews transform city streets into a temporary racing circuit. Barriers, fencing and other track infrastructure have been installed along the route ahead of race weekend.
For drivers, the circuit will offer little room for error, with tight turns and narrow sections replacing the traffic that normally moves through these streets. For residents and visitors, the race has meant detours and closures across parts of downtown as the District prepares to host its first IndyCar event.

Former child star Hayden Panettiere has died at 36. While the actor is perhaps best known for her roles in TV series like Heroes, where she played an indestructible cheerleader, and Nashville, where she portrayed a rising country star, to horror fans, she'll forever be known as one of the Scream franchise's most iconic final girls, Kirby Reed.
Scream 4 marked Panettiere's first appearance in the film franchise. Her character was a cool Woodsboro High School student who sported a pixie cut and could rattle off horror film trivia. Her passion for horror was central to the movie's final act, in which her character is caught by Ghostface and forced to play one of his twisted games. Ultimately, she is stabbed by one of the Ghostface killers and left for dead.
Kirby's fate was never revealed in that movie, and fans always hoped that she would return to the franchise in a sequel. In 2022, the long-anticipated Scream premiered as both a sequel and a reboot of the franchise, but Panettiere did not appear in the film. Her fate was revealed through an Easter egg in the movie, when a character is looking at a YouTube page and an interview with Kirby, a survivor of the Woodsboro stabbing, appears.

"We wanted to answer the Kirby question in some way from the beginning," co-director Matt Bettinelli-Olpin told Nerdist in 2022. "We just didn't really know what that would be. There was a period during the pre-production where we thought we might be able to even get her in this movie. We had a zoom with her and she was lovely. And she was like, 'I love Kirby, I'd love to be in it.'"
