Even though the pads aren't on yet, the competition in training camp is heating up. The Los Angeles Rams held their second practice at LMU on Monday and a handful of players stood out in a positive way – including two young guys who are trying to make their mark on the 53-man roster.
Based on reports from camp, here are four players who performed well in Monday's practice.
The Rams traded up for Daniels in the sixth round of the draft this year and they may have found their latest Day 3 gem. The former Miami receiver drew high praise from reporters in attendance, as well as his head coach Sean McVay. Stu Jackson of TheRams.com noted that Daniels "caught just about every target thrown his way on Monday" while working with the second-team offense.
McVay said Daniels has "done a good job and called him a "mature rookie" with a "no-nonsense mentality." And with guys like Puka Nacua and Davante Adams to learn from, McVay likes the potential of the rookie wideout.
"So it's a great group, but I'm excited about CJ and he'll be another guy when you talk about the importance of the preseason, he'll be a guy I'm looking forward to watching play and obviously in these practice settings as well," McVay said.

If you've ever wanted to listen to Sean Strickland speak for four hours, today is your lucky day. The UFC middleweight champion just sat down with Shawn Ryan and the two talked for over 240 minutes on a variety of different topics. That's over an hour longer than Christopher Nolan's Odyssey!
That film is based on Homer's epic poem and cover's Odysseus' 20 year journey from Ithica to Troy and back. But we have to say, 'complicated man' Sean Strickland's 35 year journey from abused child to two-time UFC champion may give The Odyssey a run for its money. There's too much to go into in one simple article, but the interview covers Sean's many mental issues, troubled youth, how he fell in with a neo-nazi gang in prison, and other really dark stuff.
"If I was drinking, I'd be dead or I'd be in prison," Strickland said. "That's what drinking does, it lowers your inhibition. And so now you're just like, 'Oh, I'm down to do anything.' I mean, I can't even own a revolver. I have one little .22 revolver that I don't f–k with because every time I pick it up, I can't stop thinking about killing myself."
"When I was younger, dude, I had this girl save my life," he added. "I had this .38, I'm just f–king spinning it. And I'm just talking to this girl named Jackie. [You] saved my life, Jackie, thank you. I'm spinning it. I put a round in it. I'm just talking to her and I'm hyperfixating on playing Russian roulette. Still to this day it gives me f–king chills."
"I was like, 'We should do it.' And she's like, 'Sean, no. Don't do it.' And I was like, 'No, what are the odds? Like, one in six? One in six. That's good odds. I'd take those odds.' Right? So I f–king put the gun to my head, and I'm sitting there … I'm working myself up to it. 'F–king do it. I'm f–king goona do it. You f–king ******* .' I'm having a conversation with her, I have every bit of adrenaline and dopamine just being f–king saturated in my brain right now and I f–king love it."

Max Verstappen is already firmly locked into a long-term contract with Red Bull Racing that runs through the end of 2028. However, amid a chaotic 2026 silly season fueled by internal team politics and public flirtations from Mercedes, rumors of a potential performance-based exit clause have loomed over the Milton Keynes garage all year.
Now, it appears Red Bull's upper management is ready to throw a massive amount of cash at the problem to ensure their star driver has no legal avenues to jump ship.
According to a recent report originating from the German outlet BILD, Red Bull and Verstappen's management are actively engaged in contract extension talks.
The rumored deal on the table would extend Verstappen's tenure with the team through the 2029 season. To sweeten the pot, Red Bull is reportedly offering a significant pay **** p on top of his current base salary, which already sits at a staggering €65 million (roughly $71 million) per year.
But the massive financial upgrade comes with one major condition: the new contract would completely eliminate any existing exit clauses.

Honda Motor and Nissan Motor plan to collaborate in the development of a new software operating system (OS) for their next-generation vehicles, as the two ****** anese automakers look to cut vehicle development and production costs amid intensifying global competition, according to local reports citing a source familiar with the matter.
As the automotive industry moves towards software-defined vehicles (SDVs), software and electronic hardware account for an increasing proportion of the cost of a vehicle, as advanced driver ****** istance systems (ADAS), autonomous driving, connected technologies, and AI ****** istants become core features in next-generation vehicles.
Nissan and Honda, which pulled back from a full merger in early 2025, have been discussing collaboration in a number of areas, including SDVs, and EV batteries and powertrain components.
These latest reports suggest that a new OS, which serves as the brain of a vehicle, will be developed based on Nissan's existing OS. The two companies also plan to share key electronic hardware, including electronic control units (ECUs), with a formal agreement expected to be announced next month.
The decision to standardise software and electronic hardware was apparently made following recent progress in preliminary joint development.

Enterprise AI agents were meant to be the breakout software offering for 2026, yet instead they've become one of the major sources of buyer distrust. According to Anaconda and Forrester research, over 88% of AI agent pilots never reach production, as confirmed by independent polls from a16z and MIT Sloan's CIO panel, while Gartner predicts that more than 40% of agentic AI initiatives will be discontinued entirely by 2027 due to questionable ROI.
Salesforce Inc. (NYSE:CRM) walked into the gap between agent hype and agent reality when it placed its growth narrative on Agentforce, and by 2026, that bet has made Salesforce Inc. (NYSE:CRM) one of the worst-performing components of the Dow Jones Industrial Average, down around 31.48% year to date.
The immediate cause appears to be a credibility problem, not a demand issue. Bernstein downgraded Salesforce Inc. (NYSE:CRM) to Sector Weight from Outperform on July 9, removing its price target completely and citing poor customer feedback on Agentforce in particular. According to **** yst Jackson Ader, the released data doesn't yet indicate growing momentum, and a recent CIO survey found Salesforce Inc. (NYSE:CRM) to be "a standout for the wrong reasons."
That said, this interpretation is not uniform, and the debate on the market is serious. On July 14, Goldman Sachs reiterated its Buy rating and $242 price target, expecting organic growth to pick up in the third quarter as more details on AI monetization become available at Salesforce's Agentforce event in September. Goldman's more constructive reading is based on management's own acknowledgment of headwinds in Tableau, Commerce, and Marketing, which the firm sees as realistic rather than concerning, arguing that Salesforce Inc. (NYSE:CRM) is being open about a 12-to-24-month drag on its organic growth algorithm rather than covering it up.
Salesforce Inc. (NYSE:CRM)'s historical valuation decline looks to be the most mispriced aspect of the market story. Shares are currently trading at a compressed forward earnings multiple of only 10.83x, a substantial drop from the stock's five-year historical average of over 127x. The disparity is even more obvious when compared to prominent peers such as ServiceNow, which trades at a forward P/E of around 20.43x and requires consistent revenue growth above 18% through 2028 to maintain its valuation premium. Salesforce's current valuation of less than 11x forecast earnings is in near-total deadlock, despite the company's strong free cash flow generation and substantial enterprise data integration.

The debate surrounding Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma's ODI future refuses to die down despite both continuing to deliver for India. While neither head coach Gautam Gambhir nor chairman of selectors Ajit Agarkar has publicly committed to their participation in the 2027 World Cup, keeping the speculation around their future alive.
India's recent 1-2 ODI series defeat against England only added fuel to the conversation. Rohit silenced critics with a match-winning century in the series finale, registering his 34th ODI hundred amid speculation that the Lord's fixture could be his final international appearance. Kohli, meanwhile, chipped in with two half-centuries during the series after both senior batters struggled in the opening match.
Former India wicketkeeper-batter Deep Dasgupta believes there is no need to question Rohit and Kohli's places in the side, but stressed that both must make an immediate impact whenever a series begins instead of taking time to settle.
"That has to be a conversation with everyone, not just them (Kohli and Rohit), that they have to start the series well and hit the ground running. That is a challenge. You can't take one or two games to get into the groove. But that's where the support staff comes in and has conversations with the players by creating an environment to get the best out of everyone," Deep Dasgupta said on his YouTube channel.
Dasgupta insisted that the standards applied to the two stalwarts should remain unchanged despite the increasing scrutiny around their careers.
"There is no conversation needed with them about their places in the team. Four years back, it wasn't like they had to be reminded before every series that they would be in the team. They knew they would be in the team based on their performances. So how does that change now? It does not and should not change," he added.
Questions over the future of Rohit and Kohli have surfaced repeatedly since both retired from Test cricket last year, leaving ODIs as their only international format. Before the Lord's ODI against England, reports suggested that the selection committee was considering moving on from Rohit ahead of the 2027 World Cup to create an opening for Yashasvi Jaiswal.
However, the BCCI leadership dismissed reports that the Lord's encounter would be Rohit's final international appearance.
Dasgupta believes the constant speculation is largely because the pair now feature in only one international format, making every ODI performance subject to greater scrutiny.
132677492
"This discussion about their future is getting exaggerated because they play only one format. When you play multiple formats, if you fail in one but score in the other, the failure is forgotten. So that's a challenge for these two that can't be denied. People will remember what they last did in this format because they play only one format. But the conversation with them should be the same as it was three years ago," he added.

A single first RMD can push a retiree two IRMAA brackets higher, jumping Medicare Part B premiums from $203 to $406 per month.
IRMAA brackets work as cliffs, meaning that crossing a threshold by even $1 triggers the full surcharge for the entire year based on income from two years prior.
Qualified Charitable Distributions and pre-RMD Roth conversions are the primary tools retirees use to reduce IRMAA exposure before distributions begin.
Two retirees, same $1 million, same 4% rule, buy one finished with $1.4 million, the other hit $0 in 12 years. Our free reader guide explains the flaw that separated them, and the income-first method built to avoid it.
The standard 2026 Medicare Part B premium is $202.90 a month, up from $185.00 in 2025, and for most beneficiaries, that number is the whole story. For a retiree who took his first Required Minimum Distribution in December and watched it land on top of his other income, the figure that arrived from Social Security was different: $405.80 a month. Same coverage, same doctors, two brackets higher on the Income-Related Monthly Adjustment Amount schedule.

For the first time in several quarters, there's genuine uncertainty around what the Federal Reserve is going to do at its upcoming July 28-29 meeting.
According to the latest dot plot report, about half of the Fed's voting members favor a rate hike by year-end, while the other half don't. New chair Kevin Warsh himself decided not to submit his own economic projection in June and has been vague about where and when he thinks rates will move next. The only real indication he's given is that he has "no tolerance" for high inflation.
Missed Nvidia in 2009? This Rare Signal Is Flashing Again. In 2009, a "Double Down" signal flashed for a little-known chipmaker called Nvidia. For the first time in years, that same "Total Conviction" signal is flashing for a company 1/100th the size of Nvidia. Continue »
The markets hate uncertainty, and this situation is loaded with it. So how should you position your portfolio heading into the July Fed meeting? The best solution might be the simplest one.
A lot of people are going to be tempted to make trades or portfolio adjustments based on whether they think the Fed will hold rates steady or hike them.

A decade ago, Seattle was the poster child of American tech prosperity. Amazon and Microsoft had turned a midsize Pacific Northwest city into a magnet for engineers, executives, and capital, adding roughly 40,000 jobs per year at the peak of the boom, according to the Puget Sound Regional Council.
Today, more than one-third of downtown Seattle's office **** e sits empty, its job postings have collapsed faster than almost any other U.S. metro, and even Starbucks—the coffee giant founded in the city in 1971—is shifting jobs south to Nashville, as it commits to a $100 million, 2,000-person new footprint in Music City. The story of Seattle's reversal unfolds in three overlapping arcs: an office market in free fall, a labor market that has gone from boom to bust, and a policy environment that has made survival harder for the small businesses left behind.
Seattle's downtown office vacancy rate hit 35.6% in the fourth quarter of 2025, up from 32.3% a year earlier, according to Cushman & Wakefield data. That marks a stunning reversal from the pre-pandemic era: As recently as early 2025, the central business district's availability rate—offices with departures pending—and vacancy rate were already hitting all-time highs based on CoStar data stretching back to 1982.
Some brokers put the number even higher, with Colliers reporting vacancy touching 39.1% in late 2024 as remote work, tech layoffs, and cautious leasing decisions compounded. Office building values in the district have plunged sharply as a result, with landlords struggling to fill **** e abandoned by major tenants.
The office crisis is inseparable from a broader collapse in hiring. Seattle metro job postings fell 35% between February 2020 and October 2025, the second-steepest drop of any major U.S. metro after San Francisco's 37% decline, according to Axios's **** ysis of Indeed data.

BEIJING, July 27 (Reuters) - China's commerce ministry on Monday accused the United States of "AI hegemonism" and threatened countermeasures after senior U.S. officials said Chinese AI companies could face investigations, sanctions and trade restrictions over the alleged theft of U.S. technology.
The ministry said Washington was threatening Chinese companies with punishment based on allegations they used "distillation" to copy advanced U.S. AI models, despite what it called a lack of factual or legal grounds.
Model distillation is a widely used AI training technique in which developers use the outputs of a more capable model to train or improve another system. U.S. officials say they distinguish between legitimate distillation and large-scale extraction that amounts to intellectual property theft.

While talking season is in full swing, only 40 days remain before the preseason predictions cease and SEC football officially begins.
Five head coaches in the league are set to make their debuts with their new respective squads, as they attempt to usher in a new era by rebuilding and revamping. Others, like Mississippi State head coach Jeff Lebby and South Carolina head coach Shane Beamer, are on the hot seat if they can't turn things around and improve from last season's efforts.
Outside of coaching headlines, major quarterback battles are occurring at Arkansas, Florida, Tennessee and Alabama, as they look to find their starter for the upcoming campaign. Meanwhile, established gunslingers like Trinidad Chambliss and Arch Manning are looking to exceed expectations and bring hardware to the SEC once again.
That's just a small glimpse of all the storylines set to unfold in a few short weeks. The time for talking is almost over, with Missouri opening the season for the SEC against Arkansas-Pine Bluff on September 3.
Based on talent, coaching staff and scheduling, here are my predictions of where each SEC team will finish the 2026-27 season:

Based on the New England Patriots' 2026 offseason moves, the organization made improving quarterback Drake Maye's offensive weapons a priority. In the process, the Patriots added to a previously aging tight end room.
Following an Austin Hooper exit to the Atlanta Falcons in free agency, New England signed hybrid tight end Julian Hill. It also selected Notre Dame's Eli Raridon in the third round of the NFL Draft. However, a season-ending injury to Hill during a spring practice left a void in the group that remains unresolved.

ZURICH, July 24 (Reuters) - Switzerland takes note of the announced additional U.S. tariffs but rejects allegations underlying the forced labour investigation, the government said on Friday.
With tariffs of up to 12.5% on Swiss imports, effective July 24, the United States is still adhering to a joint statement of November 2025, the Swiss statement added.
The decision to impose tariffs on Swiss imports based on allegedly insufficient measures against forced labour is neither understandable nor justified, Swiss business **** ociation Economiesuisse said.
"There is no evidence that Swiss supply chains are being used to smuggle goods produced through forced labour into the U.S. market," the group added, calling allegations of forced labor unfounded.
"Forced labour is already prohibited in Switzerland under constitutional, civil and criminal law."

One of the largest nuclear verdicts in history against trucking was handed down Thursday in a Dallas courtroom, a more than $600 million judgement that has quickly thrust C.H. Robinson into the post-Montgomery legal landscape.
A jury in Dallas County Court handed down a verdict of approximately $604 million in a case involving a March 2021 crash in Jackson, Mississippi. The case was filed in the Texas courtroom because the carrier whose truck was involved in the wreck, Lupus Superior, is based there.
C.H. Robinson (NASDAQ: CHRW) hired Lupus Superior to move products from Arizona Beverages.
Three persons were killed in the crash alongside numerous injuries to other automobile passengers in a pileup that occurred after a Lupus Superior truck driven by its employee, Gorgonio Gonzalez, plowed into several cars. Gonzalez also was killed in the crash.
The lead named plaintiff in the case is the estate of Peyton Lipe, who was one of the deceased.

"If you plan better and produce the right amounts of goods, you'd be less exposed to mass destruction," the Hong Kong-based supply chain veteran said.

Shares of Eos Energy (NASDAQ: EOSE) hit a high of $19.86 apiece in November 2025. The rally faded fast, with the stock giving back much of that gain by the time the fourth-quarter earnings landed in late February.

First, what does Eos do? It builds zinc-based battery energy storage systems (BESS) that are apparently superior to lithium-ion and lead-ion battery systems in terms of safety, durability, and efficiency.
In February, Eos said something it hadn't been able to say before: substantial doubt about its ability to continue as a going concern no longer existed. It also reported a 90% revenue surge and a solid backlog of $701.5 million. The company estimated its commercial opportunity pipeline at $23.6 billion.
