Sources suggest that King Charles's offer for Prince Harry to stay at Buckingham Palace on his next visit may upset staff. They claim that their resentment over Harry's memoir and interviews is still there. This comes amid reports that Charles extended an olive branch to his younger son ahead of his next UK visit for various engagements around the annual WellChild Awards.
Rob Shuter's Naughty But Nice reported that the palace staffers were "furious" when Prince Harry was offered palace accommodation during his recent UK visit. Additionally, insiders note that their feelings haven't changed and they still oppose his upcoming stay. The insider said, "The King may want Harry under his roof, but many of the people who work there don't. They felt deeply betrayed by everything that followed Spare and the interviews, and that resentment is still very real."
The source further claimed that staff opposition played a key role in the earlier cancellation of Harry's stay. While things will remain professional on the surface, the source added that this should not be mistaken for forgiveness. According to the source, those are "two different things." Despite the opposition from staffers, the monarch remains determined to make things right with Harry. The source stated that he would continue offering olive branches as part of this effort.
"Reconciliation isn't just about repairing a relationship between father and son. Harry also has to win back the people who keep the monarchy running every day—and that may be the toughest challenge of all. Don't be surprised if there's an unusual number of staff calling in sick the week he arrives," the insider continued.
Prince Harry is expected to return to the UK in September. However, it remains unclear if he would come alone or be joined by his family. Sources earlier shared that this time, the Duke of Sussex will accept the palace stay offer well in advance. Last time, his delay in acceptance allegedly led to cancellation.

• Cracker Barrel named ‌restaurant industry veteran David Deno as its new top boss.

Suri Cruise, the daughter of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, has legally dropped her father's last name and chosen a surname that honors her mother instead, according to a Page Six report.
Rather than adopting Holmes as her last name, Suri opted for Noelle, her mother's middle name. While it's unclear when she officially changed her last name, Page Six reported that she registered to vote in Allegheny County, Pa., under the name Suri Noelle during her freshman year at Carnegie Mellon University in October 2024. She first made headlines in June 2024, when she graduated from New York City's LaGuardia High School and was listed as Suri Noelle in the ceremony pamphlet.
The reported name change comes after years of estrangement from Cruise. Following her parents' divorce in 2012, Suri moved from Los Angeles to New York City with Holmes, who was granted full custody, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The Mission: Impossible star was ordered to pay $400,000 annually in child support, plus medical, dental, education and insurance expenses, until Suri turned 18, the outlet reported.
Before moving to Pittsburgh, Pa., Suri, who has often been described as the spitting image of her mother, was frequently spotted out and about in New York City.
"We are committed to working together as parents to accomplish what is in our daughter Suri's best interests," read a joint statement from Holmes and Cruise following their divorce in 2012. "We want to keep matters affecting our family private and express our respect for each other's commitment to each of our respective beliefs and support each other's roles as parents."

The Federal Reserve's decision on Wednesday to hold interest rates steady or hike them is one of the most unclear in years.
Renewed tensions in the Middle East have pushed oil prices higher again, feeding the hawks' worries that energy prices could translate into sticky, broad-based inflation and necessitate a rate hike. At the same time, the latest inflation report showed prices cooled, giving the central bank some breathing room and bolstering the case to hold rates steady.
Former Kansas City Fed president Esther George said there's a 50-50 chance the Fed will either hold rates steady or raise them.
"The arguments you could create for them holding or raising seem pretty valid, but Kevin Warsh is not going to give you any tidbits to lead in the direction he wants to go," George said in an interview.
"It wouldn't surprise me if they hiked by 25 basis points at this meeting," George added. "The two-year [Treasury yield] is higher than the fed funds rate, so that may be enough to move people, but I think September is more likely in this sense."

An early focus of the inquiry was a deal TWG struck last year with Mubadala Capital, an arm of an Abu Dhabi sovereign wealth fund, according to people familiar with the matter. In April 2025 the companies announced Mubadala Capital would anchor a $10 billion syndicated investment in TWG. Prosecutors were looking into whether Mubadala Capital had been misled about valuations, said the people, who asked not to be identified discussing confidential matters. It's unclear whether prosecutors are still pursuing that line of inquiry.

As many Americans struggle to make ends meet, Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh has pledged to bring inflation back to its 2% target, but it remains unclear exactly how he plans to get there as the central bank heads into its July meeting.
The Fed often finds itself at a crossroads, balancing its dual mandate of maximum employment and stable prices. It has two main tools it uses to address both – its balance sheet and the federal funds rate, a benchmark for interest rates. The Fed typically raises its target range for the rate to tame inflation and lowers it to stimulate the job market.
After three months of accelerating inflation, it slowed in June, though some forecasters expect it may tick back up amid renewed U.S.-Iran hostilities. And after three months of positive job growth, U.S. employer hiring fell in June — leaving the Fed to sort out whether these recent swings are just noise or the start of new trends.
The Fed may also be at a crossroads when it comes to delivering on Warsh's promise of price stability for U.S. consumers. Many Americans don't want higher interest rates on their credit cards and personal loans, but they also don't want prices to keep rising. Raising the Fed's benchmark interest rate could help cool inflation, but it would also make borrowing more expensive.
Dean Lyulkin, CEO of Cardiff, a small-business loan company, said Warsh's refusal to provide forward guidance has made the outcome of the July meeting difficult to predict.

A woman is going viral after posting a video in which she says she was fired from a new job after being late on her first and second day for what she insists were good reasons.
TikTok user bigisrayy shared a video from the driver's seat of her car on Tuesday, July 21, in which she explained in the caption that she lost her job on her second day due to "a patten [sic] of 'absence ' that they thought was unprofessional and disrespectful."
In the video, she explained that she wanted to be "transparent" with her followers and revealed that she told her new employers that she'd have to be late on her first day because she had to go to the DMV to take care of a suspended license. She claimed, in a follow-up video shared a day later, that her uncle worked at the DMV, so she'd hoped it would be a speedy process, but her uncle was on vacation.
As a result, she showed up 30 minutes late on her first day, but claims she warned her employers she would be late and communicated with them on the day.
Things got tense the following shift when she showed up five minutes late. Rather than call ahead and warn them that she'd be late, she hoped she could simply apologize in person.

Sean 'Diddy' Combs was reportedly sent to solitary confinement after he was involved in a fight with a fellow inmate this week.
The disgraced rapper allegedly sparked a brawl inside Fort Dix Federal Correctional Institution, a low-security prison located in New Jersey, after he was insulted by another prisoner.
The inmates reportedly got into a heated altercation and exchanged shoves and jabs before they were separated by prison guards, TMZ reports.
According to the outlet, Diddy was then thrown into solitary, although it is unclear if the other inmate also faced the same fate.
It also isn't clear if Diddy is still there, but his spokesperson said they were "unable to confirm this [report] at the moment" when asked for comment.

The Chargers are less than a week away from the start of training camp, and the anticipation is building.
While most starting jobs and roster spots appear to be locked in at positions like quarterback, running back and safety, there are still several key roles that remain unsettled.
Those battles will begin to take shape in the coming weeks. Heading into training camp, here are the four biggest postion groups still unclear.
The left guard position will be one of the more intriguing battles entering training camp. The players fighting for the starting spot are veterans Kayode Awosika, Trevor Penning and second-round pick Jake Slaughter. Slaughter enters his first training camp having only played center at Flordia. Awosika appears to have the upper hand, as he received most of the work with the first-team offense during the spring.
While Omarion Hampton is locked in as the featured starter, who will secure the primary change-of-pace duties is a competition in its own. Free-agent acquisition Keaton Mitchell brings explosive, home-run speed that fits the scheme perfectly, but he faces a strong challenge from Kimani Vidal, who proved his reliability with a productive 643-yard season last year.

Alphabet made history Wednesday with a quarterly profit that stretched into 12 figures for the first time in the search giant's history—and perhaps for the first time in any company's history. Alphabet, the parent company of Google, grew its bottom line by 298% year-over-year in the second quarter, totaling an astounding $112.1 billion in net income.
That's more profit in three months than 459 of the Fortune 500 companies generate in top line revenue in a full year.

What gives? Alphabet's Q2 revenue increased by a very impressive 24%, to $119.8 billion, with the Google Cloud business reaching an 82% growth clip—results CEO Sundar Pichai called proof that the company's "full stack approach to AI is delivering real, measurable value."
Well, that—plus $99 billion in additional (or "other") income that's not directly produced by Alphabet's day-to-day business operations such as search advertising and YouTube subscriptions.
A footnote in Alphabet's Q2 earnings release provides a bit more insight about where these record-shattering profits came from. Alphabet booked $99 billion in "unrealized and realized" gains on the equity securities in its investment portfolio during the quarter—adding $77.1 billion to Alphabets overall net income after taxes, according. The investment windfall accounted for $6.26 of Alphabet's $9.11 in earnings per share.
Most of the $99 billion in "other income" is from Alphabet's AI investments, primarily Anthropic and ***** eX. Though it's unclear how much each of the individual investments contributed to the $99 billion gain, both companies saw their valuations soar in Q2.

Hi, I'm Joe. I'm 10 years old and I'm from Ashington. However, unlike the majority of people here, my blood flows red and white. It's been passed down through my family ever since my great-great-grandfather discovered the world of Sunderland AFC.
I am a season ticket holder in the East Stand and love attending matches with my dad, grandad, uncle and cousin.
This is my experience of the York away day through my eyes…
Over the last few weeks there has been a gap. Since we confirmed Europe on that magical day against Chelsea, I have been longing for the exhilaration – the highs and lows – that come with supporting Sunderland. Not even watching the World Cup could match seeing the Lads at the SoL. Finally, a chance to see the wizards once again.

What's next for Diego Pavia? Landing spots for former Heisman finalist, from second NFL chances to CFL to WWE originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
For the second time in three months, Diego Pavia faces an uncertain future in football.
At this time last year, Pavia was preparing for his final season at Vanderbilt, which resulted in him becoming the Commodores' first-ever Heisman Trophy finalist, leading an electric offense to a 10-3 record and racking up 3,539 passing yards and 862 rushing yards. Despite that collegiate success, though, Pavia hasn't found a home in the pros.
After going undrafted in April's NFL Draft, Pavia initially landed with the Baltimore Ravens, even signing a three-year deal with a chance to carve out an eventual role in the quarterback room behind Lamar Jackson. It was a short-lived opportunity. On Thursday, Pavia was waived, making it even more unclear where he could wind up.
Here's a look at some potential fits for Pavia around the NFL, in other football leagues and elsewhere.

Shohei Ohtani, plagued by irritation in his left knee, produced optimism this week.
The two-way superstar with the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday, July 22 threw his first bullpen session in two weeks. Afterward, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts called it a "big sign."
"The arm's fine,'' Roberts told reporters. "It's kind of just going down the slope, getting over your front side. That's the big test."
Yet the same day, Ohtani missed his second straight start because of the knee discomfort the Dodgers have attributed to cartilage and joint issues. He has not pitched since July 3 and it's unclear when he will.
Concern lingers.

Bild report Jadon Sancho is still hopeful of joining Borussia Dortmund as a free agent. According to the report, the former England international is open to the possibility of joining BVB for the third time in his career.
However, he has to accept a significant salary decrease if he wants to return to Signal Iduna Park (Westfalenstadion). It’s still unclear whether the Bundesliga side are planning to proceed with the signing.
Sancho joined Manchester United for a reported €85 million fee from Dortmund five years ago. However, he has now left the club as a free agent after a disappointing spell with the English giants. He last played regularly for Manchester United during the 2022/23 campaign.
Since then, he reached all three European finals with Borussia Dortmund, Chelsea and Aston Villa on loan deals. Unai Emery’s side are closing on signing Sancho’s former teammate Alejandro Garnacho, which ended any hopes of a permanent transfer to Aston Villa for the player who featured in 39 games last season.

Magomed Ankalaev returns to the cage on Saturday, July 25th to headline a UFC Fight Night in Abu Dhabi against Bogdan Guskov. We haven’t seen or heard much from Ankalaev since he lost his light heavyweight ****** le to Alex Pereira, dropping his record to 1-1 against his bitter rival.
It’s unclear how much of that rivalry is actually generated by Ankalaev and how much is just”Big Ank,” the disrespectful personality on X (formerly Twitter) that many believe is actually the work of Ankalaev’s manager Ali Abdelaziz. During this week’s media day, Ankalaev explained why he was a man of few words in real life.
“How are people going to know what I am or what I have inside?” Ankalaev said. “I’m a professional fighter, I like to keep my emotions inside. And if there’s no crossing of a specific line, then I come out here and I come out as a professional. But if somebody crosses that line or kind of toes the line, then I’m sure I can show my character as well. Other than that, I like to keep my emotions in, my head cool, and go and do my job.”
Ankalaev recently said he’d be willing to chase Pereira up to heavyweight for a third fight, a comment that “Poatan” seemed to dismiss by commenting “Are you even still alive over there?”
“Alex Pereira must have been sleeping for a long time because I believe he was put to sleep pretty hard,” Ankalaev said, referring to Pereira’s recent knockout loss at the hands of Ciryl Gane. “If you can pass him a message, tell him I’m alive and well, and I’m waiting to see what he can show.”

A Secret Service agent on Vice President JD Vance's security detail is under internal review and has been put on administrative leave after being suspected of leaking information for a news story that included details about Vance's travel, a source familiar with the matter said.
A second source confirmed officials had identified a person believed to have been leaking information about Vance.
The review is being conducted by the agency's internal affairs component, the first source said, and it's unclear if any possible administrative punishment or criminal charges could be forthcoming.
The employee is suspected of having been a source for a recent story on MS NOW about agents on Vance's security detail dismayed by the purported burden the vice president's personal travel schedule has placed on his security team. As part of its coverage, MS NOW also described Vance's planned travel, including flying with his son on a Marine Corps helicopter to a golf lesson — plans that were later aborted.
The story caught the attention of Secret Service, FBI and White House officials, who fumed over operational details being described in the press, the first source said.

MOSCOW, July 21 (Reuters) - Online retailer Wildberries, Russia's answer to Amazon, and the merchants who trade through it are grappling with losses in the wake of Ukrainian attacks on warehouses operated by the retailer, the Kremlin said ‌on Tuesday.
Drones targeted two large logistics hubs in the cities of Kotovsk and Elektrostal on Saturday. The strikes killed ‌eight workers, sparked fires and disrupted operations at Wildberries, Russia's largest online retailer, which can handle over 20 million orders per day.
While the extent of the damage remains unclear, the attacks on a company so central to the consumer economy appear to mark a widening of Kyiv's strategy of using long-range drones to disrupt Russia's war effort and pressure the Kremlin to make peace.
Asked about the attacks, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told journalists: "The situation is indeed difficult because of the losses suffered both by the company itself and by representatives of small and medium-sized businesses."
He ‌denied accusations from Ukraine that Wildberries handles military supplies.

Ibrahima Konate's Liverpool exit may have been expected but, that doesn't mean that it hurts any less.
It's now been two seasons on the bounce where Liverpool have lost two of their regular starters to Real Madrid on free transfers.
During the 2025-26 season, the La Liga giants managed to prise Trent Alexander-Arnold away from his boyhood club and now, Konate has followed suit.
Indeed, talks between the Frenchman and Liverpool were ongoing over the last 18 months but, for one reason or another, the two parties just couldn't reach an agreement.
This has now left Liverpool with a gaping hole in their defence and, even though some people believe the gap can be filled by Jeremy Jacquet, it's still unclear whether the young Frenchman will be able to hold his own in the Premier League or not.

MIAMI (AP) — Inter Miami announced the signing of Brazil midfielder and five-time Champions League winner Casemiro on Wednesday, and Major League Soccer is now investigating whether the reigning league champion engaged in tampering to get that deal done.
The 34-year-old Casemiro — who appeared in all five of Brazil's matches at this year's World Cup, scoring one goal — is under contract with Inter Miami through the end of next year's sprint season, with an extension option through June 2029.
Casemiro's discovery rights were held by the LA Galaxy, and by league rule that would have prevented Inter Miami from negotiating with him. The teams reached a settlement that allowed Inter Miami to get the long-awaited signing done, but the league is still probing the tampering allegation.
"The league is gathering all relevant information and will refrain from further comment until the review is complete," MLS said in a statement. "While Inter Miami CF and the LA Galaxy have reached a settlement for the Discovery Priority to sign Casemiro, the terms will be released upon conclusion of the tampering investigation."
It's unclear when Casemiro will debut for Inter Miami. The team said he is still waiting on the necessary visa.

Harry Gray has more on his plate than most 17-year-olds - and he seems to be taking it all in his stride.
The Gray name is football royalty in Leeds, thanks to his great uncle Eddie. His grandfather Frank also played for Leeds - and his father Andy began his career at Elland Road.
Harry's older brother Archie was a Whites prodigy who has since moved to Tottenham for big money. Now, big things are expected of the teenage forward.
He's beloved by Leeds fans. When he joined Rotherham United on loan in January, there were many wishes of success from West Yorkshire.
Some even questioned why he wasn't being used by Leeds at the time in the Premier League rather than being sent out on loan.

LSU football made a change to its future schedule. The Tigers cancelled a home-and-home series with Arizona State that was originally slated for 2029 and 2030. The move came shortly after LSU added Tulane to its 2030 schedule.
FBSchedules.com reported that the cancellation was a mutual decision and neither school would pay a fee.
Several SEC schools have been working to reshuffle future schedules after the SEC announced a move to a nine-game conference schedule. A nine-game SEC schedule will be a grind, and playing a tenth Power Four isn't the best way to maximize College Football Playoff chances. Still, SEC schools are required to play at least one game vs. a nonconference Power Four opponent, but it's unclear if the SEC will still have that rule in place in 2030.
Right now, Tulane is the only team LSU is scheduled to play in 2030. If that rule stays in place, LSU will have to find a Power Four replacement for Arizona State or count on Tulane moving up to the ACC or Big 12.
When LSU head coach Lane Kiffin was at Ole Miss, Kiffin wasn't known for scheduling tough nonconference games. Kiffin also warned against the SEC moving to a nine-game conference schedule without expanding the playoff.

FBS conferences are divided on the Protect College Sports Act. Count Conference USA as one that supports it.
CUSA Commissioner Judy MacLeod threw her support behind the bill during CUSA Media Day on Tuesday, July 21, in Arlington, TX. She says that while it's "not perfect," it is "desperately needed."
"We understand it's going under revisions now, and some of what we've heard we don't know exactly, but (they) seem like positive changes... It's desperately needed," MacLeod said. "The state law preemption, agent regulation codifying transfer and eligibility regulations, the student athlete protections in there. We've got to have something because it's just not working, and it's not sustainable."
MORE SPORTS: NMSU's Trey Hedden has 'the nod' as QB1 heading for now, Tony Sanchez says
MacLeod's support stems from her frustrations with unclear rules. She believes a federal law that supersedes state laws and various court decisions would make things easier and potentially limit lawsuits that challenge existing or new rules.

La Liga giants Real Madrid are considering sending a pair of the club's up-and-coming stars out on loan for the duration of the 2026/27 campaign.
This comes amid the understanding that a final decision on the immediate futures of Franco Mastantuono and Raúl Asencio is yet to be made.
Attacker Mastantuono is for his part fresh off a difficult campaign in Spain's capital, following his arrival from his home country of Argentina last summer.
Still just 18, the starlet's place in José Mourinho's plans, in turn, remains unclear.
For this reason, according to Real Madrid insider Arancha Rodríguez of Cope, those in a position of power at the Santiago Bernabéu are taking into consideration a loan move for Mastantuono.
