Dr. Frank Domino was one of the more than 800 volunteers at the FM Championship, the LPGA Tour stop at TPC Boston last weekend.
He didn't instruct fans where to park or urge them to keep quiet while a golfer was about to take a shot. No, he offered his services to the golfers as a doctor.
Dr. Domino, a Northborough resident, is an attending physician and a professor in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at the UMass Chan Medical School.
Last year, he emailed FM Championship tournament director Patrick Healy to ask if the tournament needed volunteers and Healy told him his services as a doctor would come in handy for the players.
So for the past two FM Championships, he has volunteered as the on-site, on-call tournament physician for the players and their families.

The hope for Indiana is that Hoover takes off much as Mendoza did.
Purely as an athlete, Josh Hoover can compare with Fernando Mendoza. He can run. He can throw. He can make plays. However, Mendoza was special - elite and even legendary - as a crunch-time performer. Mendoza got bigger, not smaller, in late-game pressure situations. He shrugged off huge mistakes in multiple games. He could play poorly for a quarter or two but then regroup and deliver when his team needed it. The NFL insider musical chairs continues, as James Palmer is headed to Amazon Prime Video.
According to The Athletic's Andrew Marchand, Palmer will replace Ian Rapoport as the NFL insider for Thursday Night Football, providing reporting for the pregame and postgame shows. It is the latest domino to fall following the merger of ESPN and NFL Network and the resignation of Dianna Russini from The Athletic.
A longtime NFL media veteran, Palmer has bounced around to several unique opportunities in recent years. Palmer now co-hosts a podcast with former NFL Network colleague Steve Smith Jr. and is Bleacher Report's NFL insider. Recently, Palmer also co-hosted Scoop City with Russini and served as the lead NFL reporter for Underdog before its pivot to prediction markets.
Also per Marchand, Prime Video pursued Tom Pelissero before hiring Palmer. On Monday, Netflix announced Pelissero would be the insider for its NFL slate this season while also podcasting at The Ringer, whose shows are licensed by the streamer.
Rapoport contributed to TNF last season, but his exclusive contract with ESPN and NFL Network forced the move. Previously, Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated occupied the role in 2024, and a former ESPNer did so in 2022 and 2023.

The news that the Seahawks and cornerback Devon Witherspoon reached agreement on a contract extension over the weekend was celebrated in Seattle and it caught the attention of many people in New England as well.
Patriots cornerback Christian Gonzalez is also in the market for a new deal and a common reaction to Witherspoon's extension was that it paves the way for Gonzalez to get his own contract situation settled. Gonzalez has not been practicing for the last week, which the Patriots have said is due to a physical issue and head coach Mike Vrabel said on Monday that he thinks the corner's case is not directly tied to Witherspoon.
"Everything is pretty unique to itself," Vrabel said. "Whether that's negotiations, players, the play that we're running — certainly those are unique and individual situations. We'll try to focus on Christian's and I know he'll focus on his own situation. We'll continue to work through that and he'll continue to try to improve and try to get back out on the field."
Gonzalez and Witherspoon share an agent, so there's some link between the cases of two players who will wind up at the top of the pay scale at the position even if it might not be as easy as dominos falling one after another. For now, though, Gonzalez remains off the field as the Patriots prepare for their Week 1 trip to see Witherspoon and the Seahawks.

Pizza chain Papa John's International, Inc. (NASDAQ:PZZA)'s shares are down by 49% over the past year and by 39% year-to-date. On the 6th, the shares closed a whopping 17.8% lower. The dip occurred after Papa John's International, Inc. (NASDAQ:PZZA) reported its second quarter earnings before market open. Looking at the report, it's unsurprising why the shares fell as the firm's second quarter revenue dipped by 8.8%, its system-wide restaurant sales dropped by 4.8% and net income dipped by $1 million to $8.7 million. Cramer hadn't been optimistic about Papa John's International, Inc. (NASDAQ:PZZA) ahead of the earnings and the latest results didn't change his mind:
"Think about how Domino's could make a comeback here. Pizza Hut, bought by private equity, always a bad sign. Papa John's, just terrible, and got rid of the dividend. Domino's, hold, I mean I think that maybe Domino's [inaudible] to stay here. Good CEO, good numbers coming, some new dishes."
Naturally, the latest results leave a lot to talk about Papa John's International, Inc. (NASDAQ:PZZA). To support the bearish point of view, the firm also announced a dividend suspension, cut its EBITDA guidance to a midpoint of $185 million from an earlier $200 million and announced that it would close between 200 and 250 North American stores in 2026. These metrics indicate a troubled business that doesn't inspire confidence. However, the earnings wasn't all bad as Papa John's International, Inc. (NASDAQ:PZZA) also delivered on the bottom line. During Q2, its adjusted earnings per share jumped to 46 cents from the earlier 41 cents. Percentage wise, the firm's gross, operating and net profit margins in Q2 marked 29 basis points, 18 basis points and four basis points jumps.
Comparing Papa John's International, Inc. (NASDAQ:PZZA) to Domino's Pizza Inc. (NASDAQ:DPZ) makes the picture clearer and explains Cramer's preference. While the shares are down by 23% over the past year and 18% year-to-date, the second quarter earnings painted a slightly better picture. Domino's Pizza Inc. (NASDAQ:DPZ)'s revenue of $1.19 billion was higher than ***** yst estimates and marked a 4.3% jump.
Yet, the firm's earnings missed ***** yst estimates and its US same-store sales also marked 0.1% growth which also missed estimates. Looking at these figures, it's clear that Domino's Pizza Inc. (NASDAQ:DPZ) isn't that far ahead of PZZA when it comes to performance. Yet, the firm's order count continued to grow in Q2 despite the overall turmoil in the industry. Looking at this, Cramer recommending 'hold' does make sense. However, Loop Capital downgraded the shares to Hold from Buy as it expressed skepticism about same-store sales growth.

Devon Witherspoon has agreed to a four-year extension with the Seahawks, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
The deal is worth $132 million with $101 million guaranteed, which makes Witherspoon the highest-paid cornerback in league history.
Witherspoon was the No. 5 overall pick of the 2023 draft. He's been selected to the Pro Bowl in each of his first three seasons, and was an integral part of the Seattle defense that won Super Bowl LX in February.
In his 43 career games, Witherspoon has recorded 32 passes defensed, two interceptions, and 4.5 sacks. He's also recorded four passes defensed and a sack in his three postseason games.

Liverpool's pursuit of Bradley Barcola has dragged on long enough to invite doubt, noise and the usual transfer-window nonsense. Strip that away and the position looks fairly clear. Liverpool want the player, the player wants Liverpool, and Paris Saint-Germain may finally be approaching the point where keeping him becomes less important than cashing in at the right price.
That is the crux of the latest update, with credit to Ben Jacobs on GiveMeSport's Market Madness podcast. The key line remains unchanged: "Liverpool feel they've got that Barcola buy-in, so the only way someone else is going to beat Liverpool in Liverpool's eyes, at least, and I stress that's Liverpool's sources' perspective, is if they get completely outbid and then back away."
That matters because it frames this as a deal Liverpool believe they can still control. **** nal may admire Barcola, and plenty of elite clubs will keep an eye on any forward of this level, but admiration is cheap. Convincing the player is harder, and by all accounts Liverpool think they have done that part already.
The real development is not on Merseyside, it is in Paris. PSG are reshaping their attacking options, and once clubs start stockpiling players in the same area of the pitch, priorities change. As Jacobs explained, "And now, what is the domino or three dominoes really is Maghnes Akliouche coming in from Monaco, Ferran Torres coming in from Barcelona, plus the fact that Mika Godts is expected to join from Ajax. That's three attack-minded players, and suddenly PSG have more urgency to sell Barcola. So Liverpool have been playing a waiting game in order to see whether that 170 million euro price drops. Now PSG are about to add two more editions on top of Akliouche."
That is where this starts to look less like wishful thinking and more like sensible timing. Liverpool were never likely to sprint into a €170 million, £145m, agreement unless they had no alternative. They have already spent heavily in recent windows, and no serious club keeps throwing £100m-plus fees around without calculating the consequences. Waiting for market pressure to build on PSG was logical.

The Denver Broncos had a major piece of their new stadium land fall into place on Monday. SRM Concrete and the team came to terms on an undisclosed agreement to purchase about 10 acres of land surrounding Burnham Yard, the preferred site of the Broncos' upcoming stadium, according to Parker Gabriel of the Denver Post.
SRM Concrete was mentioned by name from Broncos owner and CEO Greg Penner at the NFL's annual meetings at the end of March as being one of the holdouts in the area in and around Burnham Yard, and one of the largest hurdles to cross before ground can be broken on a new stadium ahead of a projected 2031 opening of a new stadium.
Broncos president Damani Leech recently spoke about developments concerning the stadium, saying the team and the community need to work together to get Burnham Yard ready for the mixed-use development and stadium. Just a week ago, the team shared incredible renderings of what Burnham Yard may look like in the future.
One of the last major dominoes that needs to fall is the relocation of Denver Water, one of the biggest companies still located at Burnham Yard. Conversations surrounding the relocation are still ongoing, and details are still being ironed out.
"We're laser-focused on delivering (the new stadium) by 2031," Leech said earlier this month. "It's been a great effort by ownership, ourselves, the staff, the city. I've got to be honest, I wish we were further along in some areas than we are now. One major domino fell toward a new long-term deal for Detroit Lions superstar running back Jahmyr Gibbs.
Two-time Pro Bowler Bijan Robinson reached agreement on a three-year extension with the Atlanta Falcons worth up to $75 million that will make him the highest-paid running back in NFL history. Robinson will receive $51 million guaranteed and the Falcons star will now make $22.25 million per year, surpassing the Philadelphia Eagles' Saquon Barkley ($20.6 million) as the highest-paid running back in average per year.
Throughout this offseason, many have felt that Gibbs and Robinson's extensions would be linked to one another as both look to reset the running back market with new deals. Now that Robinson's deal has been finalized, will that help expedite Gibbs' new deal?
Lions head coach Dan Campbell was asked on Tuesday morning if he thought Robinson's extension could help Gibbs and Detroit get to the finish line on a new deal.
"I mean, I think it's certainly not going to hurt. It's not going to hurt. But, we'll see. Look, I'm anxious to get Gibbs back out there. Every day that goes by, that's another day that you feel like you missed with him and getting him out there with the guys and him doing his part. But, there again, it'll get done when it gets done," Campbell said.

Last season's Premier League runners-up have placed the 26-year-old Portuguese international high on their shortlist as part of contingency planning for Savinho. With Tottenham Hotspur pushing aggressively to sign the Brazilian winger, City decision-makers are actively exploring alternatives. Neto's direct running, explosive pace, and Premier League pedigree make him an appealing target for City's coaching staff.
However, the situation is complicated by an interconnected transfer domino involving Tottenham. While Spurs are pushing to finalise a deal for Savinho, they also have Neto on their shortlist as a primary backup option should talks with Manchester City stall. As a result, both Premier League heavyweights are monitoring the Portuguese forward's availability closely.

Maybe people thought it would get done a lot quicker. I don't think personal terms were ever going to be an issue. He fell in love with the club last season, but it's all the bits behind the scenes which we don't get to see.
It is an undisclosed fee, but from what we are hearing it is around £22.5m, which means Coventry City have broken their club transfer record fee three times now in this window alone.

The 2026 MLB Trade Deadline is finally behind us. It was a whirlwind day and a whirlwind week-plus since the first major domino fell on the trade market. In reality, we won't really know how teams did at this year's deadline until the World Series trophy is hoisted or some of the prospects who got dealt have more years of experience under their belt, but that's not a fun truth for this exercise. Instead, we're gonna talk about who won or lost the deadline right now, just after it all went down.
This was a super fun trade deadline. We had some out-of-left-field moves. We had some top 50 prospects get traded. We had some established veterans going to new teams, and we had some typically passive teams trying to be aggressive. It all made for an enjoyable trade deadline that I didn't see coming. Now don't ruin it by taking a whole year off from playing games.
Yes, Tarik Skubal is a winner even if people are suggesting that he and the Dodgers have broken baseball. He was traded to the odds-on favorite to win the World Series. That's a big win for any player, which I guess makes Kris Bubic a winner too.
We should also take a minute and call River Ryan a winner. The discourse about him online has been aggressively harsh and bordering on illogical. He didn't become a full-time pitcher until 2022, when he was 23 years old. He had a fully healthy 2023 and 2024 season, and even reached the majors in 2024 before he blew out his arm and needed UCL surgery. He missed the entire 2025 season recovering from that and then returned this season. He looked good in Triple-A before a hamstring injury sidelined him. I don't care that he's 27 years old. I don't think he's "injury ***** e"; he had one major arm injury and a hamstring injury. Is he a risk? Sure, but he's a talented pitcher, and he's eventually going to get to show it in Detroit.
Even if the Dodgers got Skubal, they might still have to go through the Boston Red Sox. Say what you want about how many prospects the Red Sox gave up today (and I will say some things later in this article), but they are certainly building a team to contend for this season. This team just swept the Dodgers on the road over the weekend and put together the best month of July of any team in baseball, so the front office decided they had to go for it. They added Adley Rutschman to provide a major upgrade at catcher for 2026 and 2027. They also added Eli White as a solid fourth outfielder who can defend and run the bases well, and then added Erik Miller as a solid left-handed reliever under team control through 2030, which the team really needed. Those are all solid pieces to add to a roster that is performing and plans to make a run in the playoffs. They gave up a lot of young players to get those pieces, but you certainly can't argue that the Red Sox are making a push to win in 2026.

The San Francisco Giants were said to be sellers leading up to the MLB trade deadline and the first domino has fallen.
The Giants dealt veteran right-hand pitcher Tyler Mahle to the Atlanta Braves in exchange for another right-hand pitcher Anthony Molina. The trade was first reported by Fansided MLB insider Robert Murray.
Molina will continue to develop as he was optioned to Triple-A Sacramento, the Giants said.
The trade comes less than 24 hours until the MLB trade deadline as the cutoff point is Aug. 3 at 6 p.m. ET (3 p.m. PT).
Mahle, 31, leaves the Bay for the A, joining a first-place Braves squad. Overall, Atlanta (67-45) has the third-best record in the National League, sitting 2.5 games behind the Los Angeles Dodgers and Milwaukee Brewers.

Liverpool are reportedly prepared to let one star walk for free. It's just crazy at this point.
Liverpool are currently figuring out what to do with their squad. This isn't the group they'll finish the transfer window with, we imagine, and both incomings and outgoings are possible.
Now, we know the World Cup pauses the domino effect seen every transfer window but Liverpool have been particularly slow this year. They haven't replaced Ibrahima Konate (and we're not sure they will), haven't decided what to do at right-back with Conor Bradley out long-term and, above all, haven't found a winger to replace Mohamed Salah.
Instead, they're working hard on a deal for Bradley Barcola, who plays on the opposite side. Genuinely, we have no idea what will happen there.

Even with 90 spots to work with, NFL rosters can feel the domino effect of summertime injuries.
That's certainly been the case for the Carolina Panthers, whose 2026 training camp has felt like a war of attrition. On top of the starters who were already sidelined going into workouts, including offensive tackles Ikem Ekwonu and Taylor Moton and defensive linemen Tershawn Wharton and Bobby Brown III, the team has now lost rookie wide receiver Chris Brazzell II and second-year outside linebacker Nic Scourton to season-ending knee injuries.
Head coach Dave Canales explained on Friday night, following Fan Fest, that those setbacks have held back the Panthers from adding a fourth quarterback—namely, Kyle Trask.
"Yeah, just general needs for our roster right now," stated Canales, who later mentioned the offensive line and tight end room as areas that are currently experiencing stress. "We just didn't really feel like we had the luxury. With a couple of positions, we have some guys down."
Trask, a second-round pick of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 2021, was brought into Charlotte for a workout on Wednesday. The 28-year-old crossed paths with Canales back in 2023, when Canales served as Tampa Bay's offensive coordinator.
