With most of the free agency dominoes having fallen by now — including the biggest of them all, LeBron James, who signed with the Philadelphia 76ers after spending the last eight seasons with the Lakers — it's finally time to release the 2026-27 NBA schedule.
The NBA schedule will be released in its entirety on Thursday, Aug. 13, at 3 p.m. ET with full coverage airing on ESPN2, but leading up to it, we'll get a handful of matchups announced, including announcements of the opening week slate and Christmas Day schedule
The league's NBA Cup schedule will also be released early, set to be announced on Wednesday.

LeBron James was the story of the NBA offseason. First, it started with speculation on whether James would play a 24th season in the NBA. When it was confirmed James intended to keep going, he added more mystery to the situation by announcing he was leaving the Los Angeles Lakers.
