On September 10, 2026, Copart, Inc. (NASDAQ:CPRT) reported fourth-quarter results for the period ended July 31, 2026, and used the call to announce an all-cash acquisition of digital auto marketplace ACV Auctions. Revenue grew 2.4% to $1.2 billion, but gross profit fell 5.5% to $481.4 million and net income dropped 17.4% to $327.4 million. Diluted EPS came in at $0.35 against $0.41 a year earlier.
Wall Street spent the following days separating the deal from the quarter.
Barrington's Gary Prestopino saw enough in the transaction to move off the sidelines, upgrading Copart, Inc. (NASDAQ:CPRT) to Outperform from Market Perform with a $40 target. His argument is that combining Copart's physical network with ACV's digital marketplace, at an implied equity value of $1.9 billion or $10.50 per share in cash, creates an end-to-end remarketing platform and opens a new growth vector in dealer-to-dealer and commercial vehicle auctions.
JPMorgan's Jash Patwa had already upgraded Copart, Inc. (NASDAQ:CPRT) to Overweight from Neutral ahead of the print, raising his target to $40 from $32 on encouraging salvage industry channel checks, web scraping data showing Copart gaining share with a carrier across several states, and a collision cycle he sees turning more favorable as insurance penetration recovers.
Freedom Broker, which trimmed its target to $36 from $39 while keeping a Buy rating, called the report mixed but framed the ACV move as a strong pivot toward digital marketplace expansion.

On September 9, 2026, Academy Sports and Outdoors, Inc. (NASDAQ:ASO) posted second-quarter results for the period ended August 1, 2026. Net sales rose 3.0% to $1.65 billion, adjusted earnings per share climbed 19.1% to $2.31 from $1.94, and gross margin widened 440 basis points to 40.4%. Management lifted full-year adjusted EPS guidance to $6.50 to $6.90 and gross margin guidance to 35.5% to 36.0%. What the quarter did not deliver was a positive comp, which fell 0.4%.
Telsey Advisory came away seeing nothing that changes the thesis, calling the risk-reward attractive and pushing its target on Academy Sports and Outdoors, Inc. (NASDAQ:ASO) to $63 from $60 while staying at Outperform.
Wells Fargo's Ike Boruchow described himself as cautiously optimistic at current levels, arguing that both the quarter itself and management's forward commentary delivered upside surprise; his target moved to $55 from $50, though the rating stayed Equal Weight.
Barclays **** yst Adrienne Yih focused on the fact that Academy Sports and Outdoors, Inc. (NASDAQ:ASO) held its fiscal 2026 sales and comp guidance despite a tougher consumer backdrop and sequential demand deceleration, lifting her target to $53 from $50 at Equal Weight.
Supporting the case: e-commerce sales grew 12.8%, Sports and Recreation rose 6%, myAcademy loyalty membership passed 15 million, and the company raised adjusted free cash flow guidance to $300 million to $350 million after repurchasing $182.1 million of stock in the first half.

A question has bedeviled a wealthy Lake Tahoe enclave for years: Who is poisoning the towering trees that stand sentry on the North Shore?
Residents of Incline Village, Nev., hope a $147,000 reward will generate some answers.
"It's the most appalling, selfish thing that anyone could do, especially for trees that are irreplaceable," said Chris Nolet, a retired certified public accountant and consultant to the biotechnology industry who ***** embled a small group of private donors known as Friends of Burnt Cedar Beach to put up the bulk of the reward. "These trees are 100 years old."
The donors are offering $122,000 for information leading to the successful prosecution of anyone responsible. The Incline Village General Improvement District, which owns and manages the residents-only beach where the poisonings took place, has put up another $25,000 and installed additional cameras around the trees.
The move came after an investigation failed to generate actionable leads, Nolet said.

Virtus Investment Partners, Inc. (NYSE:VRTS) reported on September 11 that preliminary ****** ets under management, or AUM, totaled $147.501 billion at August-end, compared with $148.874 billion at July-end. That represents a $1.373 billion decline, or approximately 0.9%.
Management identified net outflows in institutional accounts, retail separate accounts, U.S. retail funds and global funds, partly offset by positive flows into exchange-traded funds, or ETFs, and tender-offer funds.
Positive market performance partly offset net outflows. The $1.373 billion AUM decline therefore differs from net client withdrawals, which the announcement did not quantify. The underlying business question is whether products attracting new money can become large enough to stabilize the revenue base.
Virtus Investment Partners, Inc. (NYSE:VRTS) has identifiable sources of customer demand. Positive net flows into ETFs and tender-offer funds provide a route toward a more balanced product mix.
ETF demand also appeared in the second quarter, when these products attracted $0.3 billion of net inflows. August's positive flows suggest the opportunity extends beyond a single reporting period.

Space Exploration Technologies Corp. (NASDAQ:SPCX) is increasingly confident it can reach a $100 billion annual revenue run rate by year-end. The company's CFO said there is now "even more conviction" around the target. A new AI hosting agreement worth $13 billion on an annualized basis adds significant support to that outlook and reflects how quickly ***** eX's compute business is scaling. But the financial picture behind that growth is less straightforward. The same AI division that management is relying on to help reach that target posted a $1.3 billion loss in the latest quarter alone. The loss wiped out what would have otherwise been a profitable quarter, while the company generated roughly negative $25 billion in free cash flow during the first half of 2026.
CFO Bret Johnsen said ***** eX has "even more conviction" that it can reach a $100 billion annual revenue run rate. The outlook is supported by a newly signed AI hosting agreement worth $1.11 billion per month beginning in December, or roughly $13 billion on an annualized basis. The company plans to end the year with a little over 2 gigawatts of terrestrial AI-computing capacity and scale to between 5 and 10 gigawatts in 2027. Orbital computing remains a longer-term option for overcoming power constraints. Its current agreements include a $6.7 billion cloud-services contract that is scheduled to ramp up in October. Existing arrangements with Google and Anthropic are worth more than $2 billion per month combined. Reaching the $100 billion target would require monthly revenue to more than triple from second-quarter's pace.
SpaceX's rocket and Starlink businesses generated roughly $1.1 billion in combined operating income in the second quarter. But the AI division's $1.3 billion loss more than wiped out that profit. The company also generated roughly negative $25 billion in free cash flow during the first half of 2026. The stock declined more than 5% after the second-quarter results despite a revenue beat.
The AI contract pipeline is clearly expanding and gaining momentum. However, the $100 billion target is a revenue run-rate measure rather than a profitability target. At the same time, the division driving this expansion remains the company's largest contributor to both both operating losses and capital spending, making the growth opportunity financially costly for now.
SpaceX had 119 hedge funds among its institutional holders at the end of the second quarter of fiscal 2026. Meanwhile, short interest stood at just 2.76% of float as of August 31, 2026. The ownership and the short interest figures show that institutional sentiment remains broadly constructive and toward the company's long-term outlook.

He was the sole holdout on a 12-person jury who otherwise voted to acquit Lindsay Clancy of murdering her three children — frustrating the defense and causing a mistrial.
After seven days of deliberations, and with specific instructions from Judge William Sullivan to follow the letter of the law on reasonable doubt, the jury said it still had one holdout who refused to budge. A mistrial was declared on Sept. 4.
Now, the lone juror, named Michael Desronvil, has come forward to share his side of the story, saying that he "didn't have any doubts" that Clancy was criminally responsible for the killings.
In a statement shared with Yahoo on Sept. 18 by his attorney Edward Andrew Paltzik, Desronvil said: "I didn't have any doubts. As I tried to explain different possible theories during deliberation, I kept getting cut off as if I had doubts based on the evidence presented.
"Based on all the physical evidence, key witnesses, and what the prosecution presented, I thought it was enough proof that she (Clancy) knew exactly what she was doing and planned."

Aristotle International Equity Fund, sub-advised by Aristotle Capital Management, LLC, released its second-quarter 2026 investor letter. The letter can be downloaded here. Global equity markets reached record highs in Q2, with the MSCI ACWI Index rising 14.93%, while global fixed income grew modestly by 0.87%. Geopolitical tensions, particularly in the Middle East, affected energy markets and investor sentiment, highlighting volatility and fragility in global supply. Central banks reacted variably to inflationary pressures, with the ECB raising rates amidst concerns of stagflation, while the Fed and Bank of England held rates steady. Despite economic challenges, robust earnings continued in Europe and Asia, driven by AI infrastructure demand. The Aristotle International Equity Fund (Class I-2) recorded an 8.40% return in the quarter, underperforming both the MSCI EAFE Index, which returned 10.82%, and the MSCI ACWI ex USA Index, which returned 14.49%. Going forward, the fund remains focused on quality investments as geopolitical and macroeconomic complexities make forecasting returns challenging. Additionally, reviewing the Fund's top five holdings could help identify its best picks for 2026.
In its second-quarter 2026 investor letter, Aristotle International Equity Fund highlighted Unilever PLC (NYSE:UL). Unilever PLC (NYSE:UL) is a British consumer goods giant, that sell products across food, homecare, beauty, and personal care categories. On September 17, 2026, Unilever PLC (NYSE:UL) closed at $62.22 per share. Over the past month, Unilever PLC (NYSE:UL) declined 2.99%, but its shares are down 5.09% over the past year. Unilever PLC (NYSE:UL) has a market capitalization of $133.98 billion, and its stock has traded within a 52-week range of $54.75 to $74.98.
Aristotle International Equity Fund stated the following regarding Unilever PLC (NYSE:UL) in its Q2 2026 investor letter:
"We first invested in Unilever PLC (NYSE:UL), the global consumer staples company, in the second quarter of 2013. We have long been attracted to the company's broad portfolio of leading personal care and food brands (such as Dove, Knorr and Axe), global scale, significant emerging markets exposure and strong position across everyday use categories. Over our more than decade-long holding period, Unilever strengthened and simplified its portfolio, divesting lower-growth food ***** ets, improving efficiency, increasing focus behind its largest brands and shifting the business toward faster-growing, higher-margin beauty, wellbeing, personal care and home care categories. More recently, the separation of the ice cream business and continued reshaping of the food portfolio have further narrowed Unilever's strategic focus. While we continue to view the remaining Unilever franchise as high quality, we believe the more compelling opportunity now resides in the independent ice cream business, where dedicated management and a category-specific strategy should provide a clearer pa

About 13 years ago, “American Idol” contestant Caleb Flynn gushed about his wife Ashley, who he said encouraged him to audition for the 12th season of ABC’s singing competition.
“I love my wife more than anything,” he said in an interview during his brief stint on the show. “She’s very, very pretty, just – woof, I love her.”
Now, Flynn stands trial for her murder, as investigators allege the former music pastor fatally shot his wife of almost 16 years and staged the crime scene to make it appear she was killed by an intruder.
Flynn, 40, was arrested in February, days after he frantically called 911 to report someone broke into their Tipp City, Ohio, home and killed his wife – a beloved middle school volleyball coach – while he was in their daughters’ bedroom.
“We’re looking forward to trying the case,” his defense attorney, Patrick Mulligan, told CNN Tuesday. “We’ve been waiting for this.”

On September 11, a caller praised The Boeing Company's (NYSE:BA) CEO and asked when the company would overcome the ongoing labor uncertainty and finally move beyond years of sideways stock performance. Mad Money host Jim Cramer replied:
I think that Boeing is ready to go up. But here's the problem. Every time crude goes up a dollar, the stock goes down a dollar. And that, think about it, that was actually the ratio. I did some work on this. And because today crude was down, Boeing went up $5... No, it's so stupid because, in truth, the airlines need more planes because the planes are more fuel-efficient. So they actually do better in this environment, but ******* ody cares. They know that airlines have to borrow money to buy planes and rates are higher, and they think that oil somehow's bad. But what ends up happening is the stock does nothing. I think it's about to go up because I think oil might be peaking unless there's some catastrophe over there.
The Boeing Company's (NYSE:BA) second-quarter results showed improving cash generation, but profitability remained weak. Revenue rose 8% year over year to $24.6 billion, while operating cash flow reached $1.4 billion and free cash flow was $631 million. Its total backlog reached a record $715 billion, including more than 6,200 commercial airplanes. CEO Kelly Ortberg said, "We're ramping up production just as we planned. That's driving higher revenues and improved cash flow." He also said there's more work ahead to ramp production, complete commercial-aircraft certifications and uphold customer commitments. Boeing said the 737-7 and 737-10 had completed flight testing, with deliveries expected to begin in 2027.
The Boeing Company's (NYSE:BA) large backlog has yet to translate into consistent commercial-aircraft profitability, leaving execution and margins as important concerns for investors. Commercial Airplanes delivered 171 aircraft in the second quarter but still posted a $322 million operating loss and a negative 2.7% operating margin. It also reported a $428 million GAAP net loss.
The balance sheet leaves less room for further setbacks. The company ended June with $45.9 billion of consolidated debt against $20 billion of cash and investments in marketable securities. The FAA certified the 737-7 on August 3, while Boeing continues working toward certification of the 737-10. First deliveries of the variants are expected in 2027. The company also recorded $280 million of losses on the VC-25B program in the quarter.

The Federal Reserve raised interest rates on Wednesday, marking its first hike in more than three years, in a move that will likely make borrowing more expensive while giving savers a modest boost.
Fed Chairman Kevin Warsh and the Federal Open Market Committee announced a widely expected quarter-point rate increase and indicated another to come.
The stock market's reaction to the Fed's announcement is likely to draw the most headlines, and John Shugar, a partner at Goldman Sachs, leans toward an optimistic scenario.
"You basically have a market where all of the heavy lifting has actually been done on the earnings side," Shugar said in an **** ysis. He points to "terrific opportunities" in various AI consumer sectors, though "over the next few weeks, we may have a lot more speed **** ps."

AeroVironment, Inc. (NASDAQ:AVAV) reported on September 9, 2026, that revenue for fiscal Q1 2027, ended August 1, 2026, increased 6% to $480.5 million. Funded backlog reached approximately $1.5 billion at quarter-end, up from $1.2 billion at April 30, 2026. This represents remaining work under firm customer orders with funding already appropriated, providing a concrete base for future revenue.
Non-GAAP adjusted diluted earnings were $0.59 per share, excluding acquired-intangible amortization, purchase-accounting adjustments, acquisition expenses, and net gains and losses on equity-method and equity-security investments. Adjusted EPS retains net interest income. The GAAP result was a $5.1 million net loss, or $0.10 per diluted share. The question is whether the expanding order base can produce stronger operating earnings and cash generation.
Bookings reached $683 million, producing a book-to-bill ratio of 1.4, calculated as bookings divided by revenue. Bookings measure authorized contract awards and modifications and can include work whose funding has not yet been obligated. The ratio indicates that new business exceeded revenue recognized during the quarter.
AeroVironment, Inc. (NASDAQ:AVAV) is also translating demand into sales in Autonomous Systems, where revenue rose 21% to $346 million. That provides operating evidence behind the opportunity in unmanned aircraft and precision-strike systems.
Management maintained fiscal 2027 revenue guidance of $2.125 billion to $2.225 billion, and non-GAAP adjusted EBITDA of $305 million to $325 million. Adjusted EBITDA excludes net interest income or expense, taxes, depreciation and amortization from net income and further adjusts for stock compensation, acquisition expenses, cloud-computing amortization, net gains and losses on equity-method and equity-security investments, and other specified items.

Stocks slid Wednesday afternoon after Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh followed the central bank's first rate hike in three years with a press conference that hinted it wouldn't be the last.
The S&P 500 dropped 1%, heading toward its lowest close since July. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 1.7%, or more than 700 points, with financial shares leading the decline. The Nasdaq Composite fell 0.8%. The 10-year Treasury yield held near 5% a day after touching its highest level since 2007, and the dollar index climbed 0.6% to its strongest since late July.
Markets had priced in the quarter-point increase itself and initially took it in stride. All three indexes were higher before the 2 p.m. decision. The selling started during the press conference.
Warsh was on a tightrope going in. The question was whether he'd frame the hike as a one-off adjustment—which risked the bond market reading it as too little to deter inflation—or as the start of a longer cycle. He did neither, and instead went in a more hawkish direction. "I would be hard pressed to describe broad financial conditions as restrictive," he said in his opening remarks. "This view was widely shared by the committee, so we removed a dose of accommodation."
That's a new way of describing a rate hike, and one investors aren't used to. Under his predecessor, Jerome Powell, the Fed called policy "modestly restrictive," meaning rates were already high enough to slow the economy. Warsh was saying that at 3.5%–3.75%, they weren't—and by implication, one quarter point may not have gotten them there either. Asked directly, he declined to say whether policy is restrictive now.

Travel credit cards offer points and miles rewards on your spending, which you can use toward travel-related redemptions, such as flights, hotel stays, and car rentals. You'll often earn the highest rewards rate on travel purchases with a travel credit card. However, many also offer boosted rewards on everyday purchases like groceries, gas, and more.
When you're comparing travel credit cards, it's useful to separate them into two distinct types: general travel rewards cards and co-branded airline and hotel credit cards.
With a general travel credit card, you'll have a number of flexible redemption options when you're ready to redeem your points and miles.
Travel card issuers generally have their own travel portals, like Chase Travel or American Express Travel, where you can book flights, hotels, rental cars, and more. These programs also have a number of travel transfer partners to which you can directly transfer points or miles. For example, American Express Membership Rewards points transfer to Delta SkyMiles at a rate of 1:1.
The flexibility of general travel cards means you can use your rewards to travel with different airlines or hotel brands. Each time you're ready to book, simply shop around between the portal or partners and compare the best options for your specific travel plans.

Wealthfront Corporation (NASDAQ:WLTH) reported on September 9 that fiscal second-quarter revenue increased 1% to $91.9 million, despite platform ***** ets rising 12% to $99 billion. The quarter ended July 31, 2026. Funded clients increased 14% to 1.51 million, and platform ***** ets surpassed $100 billion by the end of August.
Platform ***** ets measure financial ***** ets held in client accounts. Their growth reflects both net deposits and market movements, so the headline increase does not represent new client money alone.
Adjusted EBITDA declined 15% to $38.1 million, with its margin falling to 41% from 49%. Wealthfront Corporation (NASDAQ:WLTH) defines this non-GAAP measure as net income excluding interest expense, income taxes, depreciation and amortization, stock-based compensation, fair-value changes in convertible notes, warrant liabilities and simple agreements for future equity, and nonrecurring expenses. Adjusted EBITDA margin divides that figure by revenue.
The advisory business is translating ***** et growth into revenue. Investment advisory ***** ets increased 30% to $54.1 billion, while advisory revenue rose 31% to $28.8 million. Those results show that the expanding investment business is generating a larger recurring fee stream.
For Wealthfront Corporation (NASDAQ:WLTH), this creates an opportunity to deepen client relationships as savings move toward longer-term investment goals. A growing advisory base could support more durable relationships, provided clients remain invested and continue contributing.

The Federal Reserve voted to raise interest rates by 25 basis points on Wednesday to a range of 3.75%-4% amid persistently high inflation. The decision was unanimous.
The median Fed official expects one more rate hike this year, according to the central bank's Summary of Economic Projections, also known as the dot plot.
The move was the Fed's first increase in the fed funds rate since 2023, when the Jerome Powell-led central bank concluded its post-pandemic hiking campaign. It was also largely priced in by the market, even as Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh has been adamant about not providing markets with forward guidance.

Circle Internet Group, Inc. (NYSE:CRCL), issuer of the dollar-backed USDC stablecoin, announced on September 8 an agreement to acquire Singapore-based Tazapay, which serves payment providers and financial institutions.
Circle Internet Group, Inc. (NYSE:CRCL) agreed to pay approximately $400 million in Class A common stock, subject to adjustments for debt, cash, and transaction expenses. Separately, the agreement provides for $25 million of post-closing employee restricted stock unit awards.
As of July 31, 2026, Tazapay had more than $25 billion of annualized payment volume, over 60 banking and fintech partners, and payout capabilities across more than 100 markets. Approximately 60% of transaction volume involves stablecoins; USDC's share was not specified. Payment volume represents funds processed, not revenue.
Closing is expected in 2027, subject to customary conditions and regulatory approvals, including approval from the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
Tazapay would strengthen the connections between digital dollars and local bank payments. Within the Circle Payments Network, originating institutions can convert funds into stablecoins for settlement, while receiving institutions convert them into local currency and pay recipients. Merchants can benefit without requiring every customer or supplier to hold tokens.

Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) has been a rewarding stock to hold, up about 53% over the past year against about 17% for the S&P 500. The change worth noticing over that stretch is quieter than the price. Management said sales still rose 5.6% despite a STELARA drag of about 460 basis points. Management is encouraging investors to evaluate the company's underlying momentum by presenting growth rates that exclude STELARA alongside its reported figures.
A year and a half ago, that drag was the headline. Management's own framing of the first quarter of 2025 noted an approximate 810 basis point headwind on Innovative Medicine sales.
By the second quarter of 2026, that segment-level drag remained heavy at roughly 760 basis points (or about 460 basis points across the total enterprise), yet management's emphasis shifted to highlighting double-digit operational growth excluding STELARA
The exclusion is not a rounding adjustment. STELARA sales fell 55.7% in the second quarter of 2026, and management put that drag at about 460 basis points of the whole company's 5.6% operational sales growth.
Two products show what the replacement looks like. TREMFYA booked $2 billion of sales in the second quarter of 2026, up over 70%, and management says ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease are the major drivers of that growth. ICOTYDE, a recently launched once-daily pill for psoriasis, is the second, which leadership has highlighted as a key pipeline priority for the immunology business.

Wall Street spent years debating whether crypto deserved a place inside the financial system.
Franklin Templeton increasingly thinks that debate has it backwards. The more important question may be how much of the existing financial system eventually starts behaving like crypto.
For Chris Perkins, head of Franklin Crypto, the shift is already underway.
"Every institution is integrating blockchain technology in one way, shape or form," Perkins told Coinage. "Market structure is changing overnight. We will be in an era of 24-seven markets. If you're not 24-seven capable, you'll be left behind and someone else is going to eat your lunch."

America's retirement bill is getting harder to ignore. Social Security is already the largest expenditure in the federal budget, and as more Americans reach retirement age, an increasingly large share of government spending is going toward older Americans. Podcast host and NYU Stern professor Scott Galloway thinks the imbalance is becoming a problem for everyone else.
"We now spend $5 on seniors for every $1 on children. Enough already," Galloway wrote in his "The Grown-Up Tax Bill" column in 2025. He argued that Social Security is part of a much larger transfer of wealth from younger and poorer Americans to an older, wealthier generation.

"You basically have a market where all of the heavy lifting has actually been done on the earnings side," Shugar said in an ***** ysis. He points to "terrific opportunities" in various AI consumer sectors, though "over the next few weeks, we may have a lot more speed ***** ps."

WASHINGTON, Sept 16 (Reuters) - The U.S. International Development Finance Corp on Wednesday approved a $500 million trade financing facility that will help U.S. companies access emerging markets in ‌South America, Southeast Asia and Africa, the agency's chief executive, Ben Black, said.
The facility, ‌approved by the DFC's board, will offer counter-guarantees in partnership with the World Bank's International Finance Corp, its private-sector arm, and its Global Trade Finance Program, Black told Reuters.
"The goal is trying to expand the program and further grow U.S. exports," he said in an interview.
Under Black's leadership, DFC has expanded its investment cap to $205 billion and shifted its focus from traditional poverty alleviation toward mining, extractive industries, energy and digital infrastructure, ‌with an eye to countering China's global influence and securing vital supply chains for the U.S.
