UFC 331 has lost a main card fight.
Brian Ortega is out of his scheduled bout vs. Renato Moicano due to injury and will not be replaced, the promotion announced Monday, just five days before Saturday's event at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
Instead, Moicano (21-7-1 MMA, 13-7 UFC) will now headline UFC Fight Night 292 vs. Tom Nolan (11-1 MMA, 5-1 UFC). The event takes place Oct. 31 at Meta APEX in Las Vegas.
No official injury was revealed for Ortega (16-5 MMA, 8-5 UFC), however an Instagram story posted Sunday by Christian rapper Lecrae showed the UFC contender sporting what appeared to be some fairly significant damage around his left eye area.
The change marks the second time Ortega vs. Moicano 2 has been canceled in 2026. It was initially scheduled for March and Ortega withdrew due to injury. Moicano then fought Chris Duncan, who he submitted in Round 2.

Manchester United host Manchester City at Old Trafford on Sunday in the first Manchester derby of the season, with Enzo Maresca's league leaders looking to maintain a perfect start to the campaign against a United side sitting 11th on four points.
Both clubs arrive on the back of Champions League wins in midweek, City beating Porto 2-0 and United thrashing debutants Sabah 4-0. Michael Carrick, who took permanent charge of United since first winning this exact fixture as interim boss in January, has won nine of his 10 Premier League home matches in his second spell at the club and is looking to become the first United manager in 113 years to win both of his opening derbies in the league.

Based on Thursday night's smothering down under by the 49ers against the Rams, it appears that San Francisco's early-arrival approach worked better than the Rams' strategy of barnstorming.
But Week 1 is just part of the equation. The Rams were surely thinking about the recovery from the long trip, with the goal of being ready for the next game, against the Giants to cap Week 2.
And it doesn't get easy after that. The Rams travel to Denver for a Sunday night game before playing in Philadelphia the next Sunday afternoon. After that, it's another Monday night game — against the Bills.
The 49ers will have to fly home after fully acclimating to Australia and re-acclimating to America. The Dolphins come to town in Week 2, followed by visits from the Cardinals and Broncos. In Week 5, the 49ers make their annual visit to the Seahawks.
In many respects, Thursday night's game is only the beginning. Where both teams go from here after going home will show plenty.

Sept. 8 (UPI) -- The Philadelphia 76ers and Philadelphia Flyers released initial renderings of their new arena, which is to open in 2030 in South Philadelphia.
The arena also will host the inaugural season that year of the city's WNBA team. Its construction marks the largest fully privately funded project in Philadelphia history. An early estimate put the cost at $1.3 billion.
Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment, which owns the 76ers, and Comcast Spectacor, which owns the Flyers and Xfinity Mobile Arena, are 50-50 partners in the new arena. Comcast will own the naming rights.
"This privately funded arena will be the home to moments and memories that define this city for generations," 76ers co-owner Josh Harris said.
"We ... look forward to partnering with Mayor Cherelle Parker and council President Kenyatta Johnson to transform a site rich with history, while creating thousands of jobs, driving lasting economic impact and delivering an arena that honors the deep sports and entertainment culture of the city.

Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing the Real Madrid attacker Endrick.
According to reports via CaughtOffside, they are preparing a January move to sign the talented young Brazilian, and they could submit an offer of around €60-70 million.
The Brazilian attacker has attracted the attention of top clubs in recent months, but Real Madrid chose to keep him at the club during the summer transfer window. The 20-year-old was on loan at Lyon during the second half of last season, and he was exceptional for the French outfit. Endrick had 16 goal contributions last season.
There is no doubt that he is a phenomenal talent with a bright future, and he could develop into a key player for Manchester United. They could use more quality and depth in the final third, and Endrick could be a solid long-term acquisition.
Joshua Zirkzee has been linked with a move away from Manchester United, and they will need to replace him properly. It remains to be seen whether they can get a deal for the Brazilian international.

Arsenal will welcome Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium this Sunday afternoon as they look to secure a good result at home in the Premier League. The Gunners managed to earn a narrow 1-0 win away at Aston Villa recently, which should keep them in good spirits going into this game.
Mikel Arteta will set his men up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to make a couple of changes to his first XI for this clash. Bruno Guimaraes and Ezri Konsa could both play from the start of this game.

The Los Angeles Clippers finally got an answer on the NBA's cap circumvention investigation, but it's not the one they were hoping for. Despite claiming innocence and complying with the league throughout the process, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver came down with strict penalties, including a $30 million fine, the loss of five draft picks, and suspensions for several Clippers executives.
Instead of accepting their losses, however, the Clippers plan to fight with everything they have. After making their initial statement today, they shared their official email to the Commissioner, in which they called him out on the way this investigation was conducted. According to the Clippers, they worked tirelessly to comply with the league office, committing millions of dollars and many hours to prove their innocence.
"Almost one year ago today, you announced that the league would be investigating podcast allegations that the Los Angeles Clippers engaged in salary cap circumvention by funneling money to Kawhi Leonard through a 'no-show' contract with a Clippers sponsor, Aspiration. In announcing that investigation, you represented that 'due process' and 'a fundamental sense of fairness' would govern the process. You made clear that the 'burden [would be] on the league' to prove any violation through actual evidence, not 'mere appearances.' And you concluded by promising that everyone involved in the investigation would be treated 'the same way I would want to be treated if people were making allegations against me.'"
"Unfortunately, none of those promises have been kept. In the last year, Steve Ballmer has spent nearly $50 million funding an investigation by Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz that has stretched far beyond the bounds of what the league set out to investigate, let alone the bounds of 'fundamental fairness.' The Clippers have produced more than 30,000 documents and provided more than 20 witnesses who have sat for 30 interviews."
"Third parties, including Clippers business partners and sponsors, have likewise provided documents, interviews, and statements to investigators. Mr. Ballmer has reimbursed the costs of at least six law firms, many of which were hired at the demand of the league's lawyers. It was probably not a coincidence that at the exact four week mark when the puck drops on the new season, the Canes sent out a post with news on how fans will be able to watch the other 72 games that aren't on national TV this year.
The local entity broadcasting the games will be called the Hurricanes Hockey Network. It was also announced everyone that Hurricanes fans had come to enjoy on screen will officially be back for the 2026-27 season. Mike Maniscalco and Tripp Tracy had been announced prior, but the release made official that Shane Willis and Hanna Yates would also grace the screen during the broadcasts.
That Willis is back isn't a surprise as he was a Hurricanes employee already. Yates, however, is the news as prior to this season she was actually an employee not of the Hurricanes but of the entity that broadcast the games—Main Street Sports, last known by FanDuel Sports Network. For her to continue to appear on the broadcasts, she would have had to become a Hurricanes employee—something that was up in the air as Tom Dundon is known for being, shall we say, thrifty when it comes to the number of people he'll hire when he hast to.
That said it isn't that much of a narrative changer for Dundon. The release mentions that VP of Communications Mike Sundheim will add managing "all aspects of production, distribution, sales and marketing for HHN, in coordination with the National Hockey League." In short he'll still do all the work he did before and add more to his plate. Yates also will be doing more than just appearing on the broadcast as she added digital host to her **** le, so it's possible we'll see her a lot more on the official team videos that are sent out across social media platforms.
Unfortunately in terms of news, that was it for the communication and that leaves unanswered a huge question: how to watch? The only acknowledgement of how fans would be able to watch this new Hurricanes Hockey Network came at the bottom of the release:

The Diamondbacks won the series against the Phillies on the East coast, but all three games there were decided by one run. Tonight's game at Chase Field was just as close, neither side exactly taking advantage of their scoring opportunities. Arizona and Philadelphia combined to go 1-for-15 with runners in scoring position. But it was the "1" which proved the difference maker, Bryce Harper's RBI double off the outfield wall turning out to be enough. It gave D-backs' pitcher Brandon Pfaadt his first loss since April 11th, ending his streak of unbeaten starts at ten, though it was definitely a tough loss.
Of course, the major storyline tonight was the return of Ketel Marte to the Diamondbacks' line-up. It came after ten days on the Injured List for a knee issue, and a few more on the Restricted List after he failed to show up at Fenway Park for a game. How would he be greeted by the fans at Chase? Listening at home, it seemed a genuinely mixed greeting, but reporting from the ballpark, Jack said, "Many more booing than cheering, booers were louder, and booed again as he grounded out." However, the reception for his subsequent at-bats seemed to be kinder. Maybe it's like family: you can't stay angry at them forever. You still have to live with them, after all.
In the end, Marte went 1-for-3 with a walk (we'll cycle back to that later). Hopefully, this entire situation is something the team can now put behind them for now, and just concentrate on the battle for a wild-card spot. Regardless of what does (or does not) happen in the off-season, the month of September is something which deserves absolute focus and commitment from everyone on the roster the rest of the way. Hopefully, it shouldn't be too hard for everyone to pull in the same direction over the remaining games. Except in the absence of a relapse, I'm inclined to draw a line under everything for the balance of this season. So, moving on…
After a pair of 1-2-3 innings in the first, the Phillies took the lead with one out in the second. It came on an absolute monster shot by Bryson Stott off Pfaadt, estimated at 464 feet. That's the second-longest hit at Chase Field this year, trailing only a ringworm-powered one which went one foot longer. It was also the third-longest allowed by Pfaadt at Chase, the record belonging to a 472 footer by Oneil Cruz. In case you're wondering, in the Statcast era, the record is a Franchy Cordero blast in 2018 off Matt Koch, tracked at 489 feet. Of course, like the blast tonight, it still only counted as one, the Stott shot giving Philadelphia a 1-0 lead.
They were then able to double their tally in the third, though things could have been a lot worse. The preseason finale has arrived for the Chicago Bears as they take on the Tennessee ******* ans on Saturday evening. Being that this is the final game of the day, the Bears and ******* ans will close out the entire NFL preseason before teams shift their focus to Week 1.
That also means it's the last chance for hundreds of players around the league to make a statement as to why they belong on the initial 53-man roster. For the Bears, many of their position groups are likely set, though injuries could make things interesting when final cuts are due.
We'll see if any player stands out in this final game, like wide receiver Jahdae Walker did last year in the preseason finale. But before the game begins, we're making our predictions as to who will make the team come Sunday night. Here is our projection for the initial 53-man roster.

Michael Olise has picked up right where he left off this summer, scoring a cool-as-you-like goal in Bayern Munich's league opener against VfB Stuttgart and having an even slicker finish cancelled by a narrow offside ruling in review.
The Frenchman, who was the subject of some summer transfer rumors, is one of Vincent Kompany's key men in a formidable and multi-faceted attack — and he's well on his way to a third Bundesliga season with outstanding production. But it's too early for talks of an extension, according to Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen in comments captured by Sky Germany journalist Kerry Hau (via iMiaSanMia).
"We're not currently in [contract] talks," Dreesen noted after the match — a runaway 5-1 winner after Olise's second-half goal restored a Bayern lead that had only just slipped away. "He's under contract until 2029, so there's no reason to rush into anything."
Okay…but maybe there is a little bit of a reason?
Olise is 24, turning 25 this season, and flying just about as high as any footballer in the world today after two explosive, breakout seasons at Bayern Munich and a sensational World Cup with France. His value has skyrocketed beyond the €60M fee that brought him to Germany from Crystal Palace and consequently, so too has he outgrown his initial contract. All the biggest clubs in the world should be after him, and any club that can't fit him in at right wing can probably find a place for him in the center, where he may even prefer playing.

Any doubts about this year's Mountain Ridge team should be squashed after Thursday's performance.
The Sentinels already impressed in Weeks 1 and 2 with back-to-back wins over Region 3's Skyridge and Lehi — including a 42-0 victory over the Pioneeers.
However, Thursday's 42-7 rout of yet another tough opponent in the Davis Darts only further proved that Mountain Ridge has legit state champion potential.
Sentinels head coach Nick Robins set up the tough nonregion schedule as a test, and his team passed with flying colors.
Mountain Ridge had the same opening schedule against the same teams last year and went just 1-2.

Birmingham City are trying to hijack Young Boys' attempts to sign FC Nantes winger Herba Guirassy (19), according to a report from Sacha Tavolieri.
Guirassy accrued Ligue 1 experience at Nantes last season. He played 20 times in Ligue 1, scoring twice, however, it was a disastrous season for Les Canaris, who were relegated to Ligue 2. The FCN academy product has featured prominently in the opening gameweeks of this season, too. In three games in Ligue 2, he has one goal.
However, Nantes have lost all three of their games, sit rock bottom of the league, and have now just sacked their manager, Michal Der Zakarian. Grégory Poirier has come in but Guirassy may not have the chance to play under the former Red Star coach. Interest in acquiring Guirassy is growing. Swiss side Young Boys had already been in talks to sign the France U21 international, however, Birmingham City are trying to hijack the deal and have submitted a bid of their own. Talks are ongoing.

Kansas City Chiefs special teams coordinator Dave Toub spoke with reporters before practice on Tuesday. He recapped kicker Harrison Butker's performance against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last Saturday.
"(Harrison) Butker, highest of highs, lowest of lows, really, in the same game. Really encouraged about the kick he made, I mean that first 58-yarder and the other one, too, but the 69 yarder–to know that we can do that, in that situation with three seconds left in a half or a game, a possible game winner." said Toub, "You have to sit there and weigh the odds as a Hail Mary, or is it that? Which gives you the best chance to get points, you (can) possibly win a game with that, I mean that's pretty encouraging."
Butker converted on three field goals, one of which was a long of 69 yards, marking the longest preseason field goal in franchise history.
"He had a little bit of a different step on that," said Toub. "If you notice, he has a little hop step into it to get his momentum going on a kick that long. He hit that thing great. It was very impressive."
Butker missed a PAT and field goal attempt in the second half, slightly souring his record-breaking night.

Manchester United have signed Cameroon midfielder Carlos Baleba from Brighton in a £70m deal.
The Old Trafford club have paid an initial £65m, plus a potential £5m in add-ons, for the 22-year-old, while Brighton have negotiated a sell-on clause.
United targeted Baleba after deciding to strengthen their midfield further following the summer arrivals of Andrey Santos from Chelsea and Youri Tielemans from Aston Villa.
Baleba has signed a five year-contract at Old Trafford, with the option to extend for a further year.
"It is an incredible feeling to join the club of my dreams," he said. "Playing at Old Trafford is always special, but the opportunity to do so as a Manchester United player will be a real honour.

Nottingham Forest are working on a deal to sign Chelsea striker Liam Delap.
The 23-year-old has been made available for sale by Chelsea for £50m and is training separately from the first-team squad.
It remains unclear whether the talks are over a permanent transfer or a loan move, but the two clubs are known to have a positive working relationship.
Delap was left out of Chelsea's squad for Monday's Premier League match against Fulham and lost the number nine shirt to fellow forward Joao Pedro last week.
His potential departure comes just over 12 months after moving to Stamford Bridge for £30m from Ipswich Town, but he ended the season with just one league goal after shoulder and hamstring injuries.

If this Nashville SC team holds on to win the MLS Supporters' Shield, results like the one on Aug. 22 might be the reason.
Nashville scored two goals in stoppage time — one by Reed Baker-Whiting and one by Andy Najar — to resurrect a 3-2 win over the Columbus Crew from almost certain defeat.
"That was one for the memory books for sure," midfielder Patrick Yazbek said.
After Nashville saw its 1-0 halftime lead disappear in a 10-minute span in the second half, it looked like a draw was the best-case scenario. And when Baker-Whiting eventually delivered the equalizer off a corner kick in the 93rd minute, you could make out a breath of relief from the 27,000 plus crowd at Geodis Park, knowing Nashville SC had avoided a home loss to 12th-place Columbus.
But then, a true stunner. Nashville advanced quickly up the field, catching Columbus on its back heels, and Najar launched a low drive into the far corner to take an improbable lead.

Bottom of the ninth, Jays up by one. Louis Varland in. Jazz Chisholm Jr. leads off with a double to the wall in center. But he strikes out Austin Wells (with Wells using the Yankees' last challenge on the strike three pitch). A ground out got us two out (very nice pickup by Vlad on a short hop), but Chisholm went to third in there. But Louis got Trent Grisham to strikeout to end the game. Amazing job, Varland.
We got yet another great start from Dylan Cease. He had a no-hitter going until two outs in the seventh inning. But a walk and two singles scored a run and ended his day. He had five walks and 8 strikeouts. More walks than you'd like, but a terrific outing. Sportsnet says Cease had a 42 inning shutout streak on the road.
Spencer Miles got the last out of the seventh.

Aston Villa are reported to have made enquiries to explore the terms of a potential transfer for AC Milan player Christopher Nkunku (28), according to reports from Onze Mondial.

The Golden State Warriors finally moved on from Jonathan **** inga at last February's trade deadline, sending him and Buddy Hield to the Atlanta Hawks for Kristaps Porzingis. Unfortunately for the Warriors, Porzingis wasn't very healthy during his first season with the team. However, in 15 appearances, he did average 16.1 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.3 **** ists, 1.1 blocks and 0.6 steals. This summer, the Latvian big man agreed to a two-year extension to remain in the Bay Area.
With Jimmy Butler III and Moses Moody injured to begin the 2026-27 season, Golden State fans will be hopeful for Porzingis to step up as a secondary scorer along with Brandin Podziemski and recent No. 11 overall pick Yaxel Lendeborg. Having averaged 18 points per game or more in eight of his 10 NBA seasons, Porzingis is a more than capable scorer when healthy.

Having confirmed the signing of Rodri from Manchester City, FC Barcelona are expected to soon announce the transfer of Joao Cancelo as well.
The final couple of weeks in the transfer window will see them fully focus on signing a new number-nine, while also try to offload some of the players who are not in Hansi Flick's plans.
One such player earmarked for a departure happens to be young right-back Hector Fort, who has a lot of interest but has yet to narrow down on his next destination.
As reported earlier today, Fort has emerged as an option for Real Sociedad. The Basque club have asked about the Barcelona full-back's situation.

Cam Skattebo made his return to game action for the New York Giants, and John Harbaugh liked what he saw. The running back carried four times for 19 yards against the Minnesota Vikings.
Skattebo entered the preseason opener after suffering a serious leg injury during his rookie NFL season. He has since been cleared without structural limitations and expects to handle a major role this season.

Still, Harbaugh thinks that Skattebo is not yet at full strength. The Giants coach saw enough during his first game to highlight traits that can make him valuable in New York's offense.

UFC middleweight Tresean Gore shared his reaction to defeating Vicente Luque via unanimous decision at UFC 330.
Gore picked apart Luque on the feet for the majority of the 15 minutes and was able to avoid his opponent's submission attempts to win his second straight fights inside the Octagon after finishing Azamat Bekoev in his last bout.
Taking to his social media following the event, Gore shared his reaction to beating Luque at UFC 330 in what is the biggest win of his MMA career to date.

The Baltimore Ravens have spent much of training camp managing expectations surrounding Nnamdi Madubuike's recovery. Though some may not admit to this now, few, if they're being honest, expected the two-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle to immediately return to full participation this quickly after undergoing neck surgery in April.
Still, each week seems to bring another positive update. The latest came Wednesday when defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver spoke with the media and discussed Madubuike's progress following practice. For Weaver, the signs have been impossible to ignore.
"He looks phenomenal. I know he wants to be just doing everything he can to be back out there, and when he is out there, I expect him to look like the Nnamdi we have grown to know and love throughout the years."
That endorsement carries weight coming from the man responsible for coordinating Baltimore's defense. Those also viewing practice from the field level express similar takeaways. According to ESPN's Jamison Hensley, Madubuike participated in positional drills for the first time during training camp after spending the opening weeks limited primarily to individual work.
There has never been much reason for Baltimore to rush Madubuike's return. The Ravens know exactly what they have in one of the NFL's most disruptive interior defenders. Before the injury setback, Madubuike had established himself as one of the cornerstones of Baltimore's defense and a player capable of impacting games as both a run defender and pass rusher.

I hope you all will forgive me for spending a portion of my Saturday mornings sorting through various somewhat bleak baseball things in preparation for the coming recap. For instance, today I found myself roaming around looking at the recent game logs for Harrison Grant Holmes and comparing them those of Eduardo Rodriguez (Holmes had a better run recently, at least until today), and then looking at how the Braves as a team hit versus left-handed pitching (10th in the majors, as opposed to 8th vs. right-handers). The Diamondbacks, incidentally, are 2nd in the majors facing lefties, at least in terms of OPS, which was nice to see. But Grant Holmes is not a lefty, so I scrolled down to see how we do against righties, and discovered the rather depressing fact that we rank 29th in the majors in OPS against right-handed pitching. I tend to try to look for something interesting that I could touch on and organize my thinking around, in case a Saturday game goes badly for us, as it feels like they often do.
Anyway. As it turns out, I didn't really need to, though it certainly didn't look like it was going to be that way in the early going. Holmes caught leadoff man Lars Nootbaar looking to start off the game, then got Corbin Carroll to pop out on the infield and Geraldo Perdomo to strike out swinging on three pitches to make short work of the Snakes in the top of the first. Everyone's favorite hologram then came on for the bottom of the frame and gave up hits to the first three batters he faced: a home run to absolutely straightaway center field to Ronald Acuña, Jr., followed by a double to Drake Baldwin and a maddening bloop single just behind shortstop that fell in and advanced Baldwin to third. ERod finally recorded his first out on an Ozzie Albies pop fly to shallow right, but Baldwin crossed the plate on a grounder to second. That wound up being all the damage done, but we were already in a hole and Rodriguez had already thrown 24 pitches. 2-0 Atlanta
Given our dismal 0 for 14 performance last night with runners in scoring position, and given how easily Holmes had disposed of the top of our lineup in the top of the first, it seemed like we were in a very deep hole. But the bottom two thirds of the lineup, perhaps shamed by yesterday's aforementioned dismal performance, were having none of it today. Gabriel Moreno drewa five-pitch walk to lead things off, and was promptly advanced to third by a Max Kepler double into the alley in right center that rolled to the wall. Nolan Arenado grounded out slowly to third, allowing Moreno to score. Then Tim Tawa grounded a single to left, driving in Kepler and tying things back up. But we weren't done!
