Part of both the Tar Heels' 2022 National Championship runner-up squad, plus their 2024 Sweet 16 group, Bacot proved himself worthy of an NBA spot with his consistent, high-level production in college.
Now currently entering his first season with Israeli Premier League squad Maccabi Tel Aviv, Bacot is also thriving as a business owner. Recently, Bacot announced the opening of his first hotel, the Home2 Suites by Hilton near Raleigh's Crabtree Valley Mall.

Crystal Palace have completed the signing of Israel international Anan Khalaili from Belgian side Royale Union Saint-Gilloise on a long-term contract until 2031.
The 21-year-old, who can operate as either a winger or full-back, reportedly joins the Eagles for a fee of around £21 million. He becomes the fifth addition to Palace's squad during the summer transfer window.

Former NBA guard Keaton Wallace has signed with Maccabi Tel Aviv. Wallace reportedly signed a two-year, $2.4 million contract with the Israeli Premier League and EuroLeague power. Wallace spent the last two seasons with the Atlanta Hawks. The 6-foot-3 point guard appeared in 53 NBA games last season. Maccabi Rapyd Tel Aviv is back in a big way. The double-winners have signed Daniel Theis—the tough center of the German national team (2.04 meters / 6'8″, 34)—for the next two seasons. Theis played for Monaco over the past two seasons. "This is a very significant signing," stated Club Chairman Shimon Mizrahi. "Daniel Theis is an experienced player, and his addition is a major reinforcement for Maccabi's defensive end as well. Barak Bachar and Lior Refaelov say Maccabi Haifa has learned from last season and rebuilt its squad, staff and training structure for the new campaign.
Maccabi Haifa had a rough season last year as they finished in fifth place in league play and missed out on competing in European qualifiers. Along with the disappointing results, the supporters were unhappy, to say the least, with how the campaign had been managed from top to bottom.
The Greens have already endured an 0-2 start to the new 2026/27 season, losing their first two Toto Cup games, 3-2 in the Haifa derby and then 3-0 to Kiryat Shmona. However, despite the losses, Haifa believes it has plenty to build on after holding its season-opening press conference at the Kfar Galim Training Center. Head coach Barak Bachar and sports director Lior Refaelov spoke about how they view the upcoming campaign after experiencing a season well below the club's lofty standards.
"It's great to begin anew," Bachar began. "We had a couple of very tough seasons, and we needed to learn from what went wrong. We also had to make some serious changes, both at our training center in Kfar Galim and with our staff. We know that we will be judged by our results. We wanted to bring in players with a specific profile for the club, and we feel that we found the right players, but of course we will only know for sure once we are on the pitch."
"There are times when you need to know how to make changes, and that's what we did. We brought in some new coaches who can raise the standards of our training sessions, and being able to work with Lior Refaelov off the pitch now after he played under me a number of years ago means we can really help build this club back up. We both know what it means to be a part of Maccabi Haifa, and we will do our best to create the right system and procedures. We put all of our failures on the table after last season, and we knew what we needed to do together to begin making the necessary changes."

The Maccabiah Games, often referred to as the "Jewish Olympics," kicked off on Wednesday evening with around 5,000 athletes from roughly 35 countries participating in the opening ceremony at Jerusalem's Teddy Stadium.
The Maccabiah is one of the largest sporting events in the world and the largest Jewish athletic competition.
The games that opened on Wednesday were the 22nd of their kind. They were postponed last year due to the conflict between Israel and Iran and its regional proxy groups. They are also the first such games to be held since the Hamas-led massacres on October 7, 2023.
The previous Maccabiah was held in 2022 after being postponed from 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
