LaMelo Ball and Jonathan **** inga seemed to be having a go at Rudy Gobert during the Minnesota Timberwolves' game against the Golden State Warriors.
The Wolves went into the game without Anthony Edwards, and unsurprisingly, they didn't look like their usual selves. They suffered a 119-114 defeat in the end.
Gobert came under a lot of criticism for his performance, and Ball and **** inga seemingly yelling at him made it an even bigger story.
However, the Frenchman has now claimed that no such thing happened between him and his two teammates.
It really was a frustrating night for the Minnesota Timberwolves against the Golden State Warriors.

Packers news: Will Jordan Love survive Green Bay's o-line? Dan Orlovsky has concerns appeared first on ClutchPoints. Add ClutchPoints as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
After allowing 22 unanswered points in the fourth quarter on Sunday, the Green Bay Packers suffered a 39-22 Week 1 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. While there were some bright spots throughout the contest, one notable weakness was the pass protection. It was so poor that former quarterback turned NFL ***** yst Dan Orlovsky revealed he's concerned about Jordan Love for the rest of the season.
During ESPN's pregame show for "Monday Night Football," Orlovsky implored that the Packers' offensive line has to improve. If not, the club's 27-year-old signal-caller may not survive the 2026-27 campaign.
"He won't survive," Orlovsky said. "This offensive line, if they don't get better, [Jordan Love] won't survive. The only reason it's even a game is because he was sensational early on. I mean, just unbelievable throw after unbelievable throw… I think the most concerning thing is it was, overall, team-wise, [a] very undisciplined performance… [A] divisional opponent that [Matt] LaFleur and them should know better.

Colorado State is 2-0 and has scored nearly 100 points in eight quarters.
Jim Mora was happy after CSU's 58-24 win over Southern Utah on Sept. 12, but already looking for growth.
"I think there's just so much more out there for us," Mora said. "We have a ton of improvement we can make and we will make."
Here's a look at what Mora said after the win:
"I thought it was another step in the right direction. I thought we were explosive on offense. Unfortunately, they were explosive on offense as well, so there's some disappointment there but things we can correct. We will correct. Positives on defense are we held them to three points in the second half. We had the four takeaways again. Those are things we can build on. But I was not happy with the way they split our defense a couple times for big gainers. When you have a good staff, which we do defensively, and you have players that are willing, you can get that fixed. It's going to have to get fixed quick because BYU is a really good football team. NEW YORK — As the freshly-promoted Anthony Volpe settled into a new locker inside the Yankees' clubhouse on Thursday, he said that he felt as if he had been in a "bubble" at Triple-A.
Not because he was stuck in the minors, but because he was focused on trying to improve his game. Volpe said he was so locked in that he didn't even realize Jazz Chisholm Jr. sprained his thumb on Tuesday until RailRiders manager Shelley Duncan told him.
"I wanted to get a lot out of it," Volpe, recalled on Thursday after Chisholm was placed on the 10-day injured list, said of Triple-A. "You have a game every night to try out different stuff and feel what works and feel like it's going to translate in case an opportunity like this comes. So there was just a lot of trial and error."
On Thursday, however, Volpe only found results, going 3 for 4 with a grand slam that broke open the Yankees' series-sweeping, 10-3 win over the Rockies. The seventh-inning blast earned the New York native a curtain call from a crowd that has booed him plenty over the last few years.
Volpe, batting ninth, also had an RBI single and a stolen base on Thursday. He didn't make an error while starting at second base for the first time as a big leaguer, either.

Alexis Mac Allister has revealed that Liverpool told him the club were not in a position to renew his contract and that he had options to leave in the summer.
Mac Allister's current contract at Liverpool is set to expire in 2028 and discussions over a renewal have failed to reach an agreement.

It didn't result in a touchdown, but the No. 4 Notre Dame Fighting Irish managed to get an impressive connection from quarterback CJ Carr to wide receiver Jordan Faison against the Wisconsin Badgers nonetheless.
The 30-yard catch-and-run showed Faison making some serious moves. It would set up a 26-yard field from Spencer Porath.

The Colorado Buffaloes and Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets will meet for only the second time Thursday night. However, their shared football history reaches much deeper than last season's opener at Folsom Field.
The Yellow Jackets won the 2025 matchup, 27-20, after quarterback Haynes King rushed for 156 yards and three touchdowns. His 45-yard touchdown run late in the fourth quarter snapped a 20-20 tie and gave Georgia Tech a 1-0 lead in the series.
Tonight's rematch at Bobby Dodd Stadium brings Colorado back to Atlanta for a game loaded with new players, but one old argument remains close by: the 1990 national championship.
Colorado and Georgia Tech did not play in 1990, yet both programs still claim a share of that season's national championship.
Bill McCartney's Colorado team finished 11-1-1, survived the famous "Fifth Down" game at Missouri and defeated Notre Dame in the Orange Bowl. The Buffaloes finished No. 1 in the AP Poll, earning the program's first national ****** le.

Azariah Levells is back — and right on time, too.
A New Mexico district judge granted the Lobo cornerback's motion for an expedited temporary restraining order against the NCAA on Monday, allowing him to return to UNM for the time being.
While the fifth-year senior's restraining order is based only on preliminary findings, it made him eligible to rejoin UNM's roster ahead of Monday's cutoff date. Levells has since returned to practice and will be available to play Saturday in the Lobos' season opener against Central Michigan.
"The ordinary time required to notice and brief this motion would itself moot the relief sought and inflict the very harm (Levells) seeks to avoid," read the court order signed by Judge Beatrice Brickhouse of the 2nd Judicial District Court.
But unlike Brett Karhu — another Lobo granted a restraining order last week — Levells likely has more work to do. His motion was filed ex parte, meaning the NCAA has had no opportunity to respond.

Peyton Watson is widely regarded as one of the most promising young wings in the NBA. Although this year's offseason was marked by prolonged contract talks and the inevitable drama that follows, Watson now finds himself in a new environment after being traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
While joining the Cavs could be a phenomenal opportunity for Peyton Watson, it is worth acknowledging his time spent with the Denver Nuggets. Having established himself as an elite two-way player over the 2025-26 season, Watson's credibility as a versatile defender undoubtedly boosted his overall stock.
Because of his ability to guard multiple positions, Peyton Watson has often faced some of the league's best offensive players. Thus, when asked who he considered the toughest player to guard on a recent episode of the "Curious Mike" podcast with Michael Porter Jr., Watson had to give a shout-out to one of the league's most creative scorers.
"Definitely, Kyrie Irving is on top of that list," Watson stated. "Bro, because you can literally just play perfect defense and he's just a basketball savant. He's got the most sophisticated and most refined game that I feel like I've ever seen."
"That's one of those guys that you look at and say, and I use this all the time, but the best of the best, bro, their talent is in their fingertips," Watson continued. "It's like he touches that ball, and he's just like a painter with an open canvas, and they're just out there playing like it's art, and Kyrie's one of those guys. Super tough to guard."

Had Kayshon Boutte not been traded to the Houston Texans earlier this week, it was unlikely the receiver would have been active for the first game of the regular season.
At least, that's what Mike Vrabel alluded to when speaking with reporters after Thursday's 37-13 preseason loss to the Cleveland Browns, which marked the first time he held a press conference since the trade was announced.
Despite his comments about the team lacking depth, he made sure to highlight that receiver was not a position he included in that group.
"That was one place where we do have some depth, and I think for all parties involved, that was probably the best thing," Vrabel said. "Without injuries, Kayshon probably would have been inactive. Unfortunately, it just, it's kind of the way it was. It's just with him not playing special teams.
"And I tried to thank Kayshon as many times I could. I texted him again today. It's just his maturity, his growth, his ability to put into words last year and share his own personal struggle, but also the growth that he made from that. That's positively going to affect a lot of people. And I know that that wasn't easy for him to do, and I tell him all the time about how much I respect him for being able to do that."

India appeared to have wrested control of the second Test against Sri Lanka after a late burst of wickets, but rain could yet play a major role in determining the outcome of the Test and, in turn, India's WTC campaign.

Sri Lanka were 218 for 6 in their second innings when play was called off early, with Sonal Dinusha and Keshara Nuwantha unbeaten at the crease. The hosts had earlier mounted a spirited fightback through Pasindu Sooriyabandara and Kamindu Mendis, raising the prospect of a draw if further rain disrupts the final day.

Such an outcome could hurt India's chances of making the WTC final.

India are currently fifth in the WTC standings with a points percentage of 53.33. A victory over Sri Lanka would lift Shubman Gill's side to fourth place following Bangladesh's heavy defeat to Australia. A draw, however, would leave India in fifth place with their PCT slipping to 51.52.

The bigger concern is the shrinking margin for error in the remainder of the cycle.

India will have seven Tests left after this match, including a two-Test tour of New Zealand in November before a five-Test home series against Australia next year. Having already lost four of their 10 Tests in the current cycle, India can ill afford many more setbacks.

If India win seven of their remaining eight Tests, including this match, they can finish with a PCT of 68.52. But six wins and two defeats would leave them at 62.96, a figure that may not be enough based on recent qualification trends.

Three of the four teams to reach the WTC final across the last two cycles had a PCT of more than 65, with India's 58.8 in the 2023 cycle the lone exception. Both finalists in 2025 finished above 67.

The calculations also ******* ume India do not lose any points through over-rate penalties.

For now, India remain well placed in the Test after Manav Suthar and Saransh Jain struck regularly in the final session. But with Sri Lanka still fighting and rain already interrupting play, a result remains crucial not just for the series but for India's increasingly tight road to the WTC final.

Nico Gonzalez is getting closer to joining Newcastle as the north-east club are growing more likely to sign a replacement for Bruno Guimaraes.
While Newcastle are yet to agree a fee with Manchester City for the Spaniard, there is a growing expectation they will.
Gonzalez is set to join City's midfield exodus this summer after Bernardo Silva, Tijjani Reijnders and Rodri have already left the Etihad Stadium.
The former Barcelona player joined City from Porto in January 2025 for £49m and has gone on to make 59 appearances, scoring four goals.
But he was left an unused substitute for Sunday's 2-1 win over Bournemouth, when centre-back Marc Guehi instead played in midfield.

The transition from college football to the NFL challenges every young quarterback, and in most cases, it does so differently. Some struggle with the game's speed. Others need time to adjust to more complex defenses. For Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe ******* nano, one of the biggest hurdles has been learning how all the moving pieces in an NFL offense must work together.
After helping guide the Ravens to a preseason victory over the Minnesota Vikings, there was no shortage of media members who sought him out for comment. In each case, he showed both humility and maturity.
When asked where he believes he has made the biggest strides during training camp and the preseason. His answer offered an honest glimpse into the learning curve young quarterbacks face when they arrive in the league.
"I think, overall, [I am] just getting the grasp of an NFL offense. It's a lot different than college offense, at least in my particular situation. [I am] taking that one day at a time. Obviously, like I said, there's a lot that I need to improve on. [I'm] happy with the performance today, but I have to watch the film, and I know there are a couple of throws that I'm going to want back."
The response reflected the same humility that has defined many of ******* nano's media appearances this summer. Even after another productive outing, he focused less on the positives and more on areas where he still believes he needs to grow.

The Arizona Cardinals will have a joint practice with the Green Bay Packers next week, their only joint practice of the preseason. If head coach Mike LaFleur had his way, they would have more.
"I would love to do two joint practices," he told reporters on Tuesday. "I'd love to do three joint practices."
For him, "you get two joint practices in, that's the equivalent of playing the two preseason (games), because it is a heightened, amped up environment. You're not tackling, but it's just, it's the amped up environment that you get."
Additionally, "for some reason, the data says if you end up having those joint practices, you have a lower injury risk going into the first four weeks of the season."
So why didn't the Cardinals have more joint practices this year? It wasn't for a lack of trying. LaFleur tried scheduling them right after he was hired in February. He found out "a lot of those coaches that were already hired already had their joint practices."

Jeeno Thitikul reached the double-digit mark for career wins after her victory at The Standard Portland Classic on Sunday. Now the eighth LPGA player to reach 10 wins before age 24, Thitikul held off several players from her own homeland to collect the $300,000 prize.
It marks the 23-year-old's third victory of the season, following an emotional win at the Honda LPGA Thailand in February and four-stroke victory over close friend Ruoning Yin in May at the Mizuho Americas Open.
"I would say every win it's means [because of] the sacrifice that we put in, the work we put in," said Thitikul. "I mean – you know, I've had a time that I doubt, like, what is going on in my games, and then, when you get it, you're just like, wow, this is what you're waiting for."
Thitikul began the day two back at Columbia Edgewater Country Club and closed with a 64. Her ball-striking was superb, but it was her putter than sealed it for her down the stretch, edging compatriots Arpichaya Yubol (67) and Chanettee Wannasaen (63) by one stroke. Wannasaen also shot a final-round 63 to win the event three years ago after entering the field as a Monday-qualifier.
Five Thai players finished in the top 8 at Portland. Wannasaen noted after the round how close they are on tour.

Yanhan Zhou did something hardly accomplished in the game of golf.
The 18-year-old professional hit a 514-yard tee shot Saturday during the third round of the DP World Tour's Danish Golf Championship. The par-5 fifth hole at Great Northern is a downhill tee shot with a cart path along the right side of the hole. It measures 598 yards, but Zhou's ball was hammered and then had some concrete ****** istance on its way to a monster mash.
Perhaps the worst part of this incredible tee shot is there is no video of it. Only evidence on the DP World Tour's website via shot tracing.
Zhou got relief for his second shot and had to drop in the rough, hitting a stellar shot onto the green and two putting for par. He had only 104 yards left for his approach on the nearly 600-yard hole.
He remains in contention as play winds down Sunday in Denmark.

LANDOVER, Md. — The Miami Dolphins played their starters in their preseason opener, and the first-team offense found the end zone.
Starting quarterback Malik Willis and running back De'Von Achane combined to orchestrate a 14-play, 93 yard touchdown drive while rookie wide receiver Caleb Douglas made a highlight-reel catch during the initial series in the Dolphins' exhibition against the Washington Commanders at Northwest Stadium.
Willis was 4 of 5 for 43 yards against the Washington second-team defense. Achane had seven carries for 39 yards and punched in a 1-yard touchdown behind the starting left side of the Miami offensive line.
Douglas hauled in a 28-yard pass from Willis with one hand as he fought through pass interference from the Commanders' Antonio Hamilton Sr. Willis' lone incompletion went to Douglas, who was open with ***** e in front of the sideline but stuck his left foot out too far and was out of bounds. Willis' other three completions went to third-year slot receiver Malik Washington.
The Dolphins started the series backed up at their own 7-yard line because running back Jaylen Wright ***** ed the opening kickoff and linebacker Tyrel Dodson was called for a hold.
