With the Major League Baseball trade deadline coming up Aug. 3, the Milwaukee Brewers are sitting in an obvious playoff spot, have a loaded farm system and would theoretically be players for some of the top names seemingly available on the trade market.
But can we really expect 2026 to look different from other trade deadlines?
Count Mark Feinsand of MLB.com among those who believe the Brewers will indeed be "aggressive" at the deadline, but what does that look like?
ESPN writer Jeff Passan put together "10 blockbuster deals that would rock the trade deadline" and arranged two deals involving a superstar going to Milwaukee. They would certainly count as aggressive.
Passan first proposed a deal that sends Detroit Tigers star left-hander Tarik Skubal to the Brewers for right-hander Logan Henderson, left fielder Josh Adamczewski and infielder Ricki Moneys. The latter two are among the more intriguing prospects in the Brewers organization, and Henderson is just graduating from prospect status into reliable major-league starter.

Here comes the celebrity fashion bride. Luxury brands are turning the wedding aisle into the new Hollywood red carpet. How "Little House on the Prairie" costume designer Mitchell Travers explored the artistry of Native American makers, Americana workwear and homespun dress. Plus, Betye Saar's wearable art at Roberts Projects, Etai Drori's artful new collab and Brunello Cucinelli's film hits U.S. theaters.

Paris couture sensation Matières Fécales, which just last week dressed Zendaya in a winged goddess gown at "The Odyssey" premiere in New York City, has joined a growing number of luxury brands that are turning the wedding aisle into the new Hollywood red carpet.
The fashion house created three wedding looks for singer/model Gabbriette Bechtel, who married English musician and 1975 frontman Matty Healy last weekend in L.A., in front of a crowd that included Charli XCX, George Daniel, Emily Ratajkowski, Alex Consani and more.
Following the nuptials, the brand issued a press release touting the event as the official launch of Matières Fécale bridalwear. The announcement arrived in my inbox on the heels of one from Saint Laurent with photos and dressing credits for Logan Lerman's Saint Laurent wedding tuxedo, and just weeks after Taylor Swift tied the knot at Madison Square Garden in a still unseen custom Jonathan Anderson Dior gown. (I predict the big reveal will be the September Vogue cover.)

Every ball counts. It is a slogan made for The Hundred competition - the pyrotechnic-charged, music-pumping version of cricket bankrolled by billionaires.
It is a world away from what you get on the fringes of the professional game, where first-class cricket meets well-manicured English village grounds that so often host second XI matches.
At least, you would think so.
For some, playing for the 'twos' is a tightrope cricketing existence and a last shot at trying to make it as a professional. Every ball really could count.
But unlike The Hundred, where top earner Harry Brook will pocket £465,000 for a month's work, some second XI players on trial runs with County Championship sides are rocking up to play in matches on the UK daily minimum wage of just over £100, with a little more on top for expenses.

CARROLL — Brayden Kennedy was not going to let his team be denied another Class 2A Iowa high school state baseball championship.
Kennedy threw a masterful game and also drove in three runs to lead Pleasantville to an 8-1 rout of Durant in the state ***** le game on Friday, July 24, at Merchants Park.
The Pleasantville ace went the full seven innings and only allowed one run on six hits. He struck out eight batters and walked only two to help the Trojans cruise to the ***** le.
"I had my stuff working pretty well tonight," Kennedy said. "Throwing the sliders and then working in some fastballs. Catcher (Logan Roff) called a great game. I just had to fill the zone up for my guys and they're going to have the bats behind me."
The only time Kennedy got into trouble was in the top of the third inning.

Jul. 24—When Logan Angelo stopped playing baseball at Creston High School, the 2013 graduate gained his first job in entertainment production as public address announcer at the home baseball games.
While announcing the game in the press box, Angelo also served as a DJ, playing digital music tracks via computerized software. At this year's team banquet, coach Brandon Phipps praised current announcer Cory Latham for his work in providing "a true entertainment event along with announcing the baseball game, like you expect from a big-time venue."
Fast forward 13 years, and the venue doesn't get any bigger than where Angelo worked for more than five weeks this summer at the Houston venue for seven FIFA World Cup matches. Angelo was hired by FIFA as stadium entertainment technical operations manager at the home of the NFL Houston Texans (labeled Houston Stadium by FIFA's non-sponsor policy, but officially now NRG Stadium after several years as Reliant Stadium.)
"This was the largest sports event ever," Angelo said, "when you consider it was held in 16 stadiums across three countries (United States, Mexico and Canada), with 48 teams playing a total of 104 matches over 39 days (June 11 to July 19). It's even a larger scale than the Olympics, when you consider the number of fans traveling for this international sports event. And, it turned out to be a successful event. The cities did a great job as hosts."
For perspective, the World Cup final between Argentina and Spain averaged 66.4 million television viewers in the U.S. on Fox and Telemundo combined. Other than Super Bowls, this is the largest sports audience since the 1994 Winter Olympics (skaters Tonya Harding and Nancy Kerrigan).

The moment that Pittsburgh Penguins fans feared would never happen took place Sept. 5 in a packed Mellon Arena media room, when Mario Lemieux stepped to the podium and presented 20-year-old Russian hockey star Evgeni Malkin with a No. 71 Penguins jersey.
Malkin, the team's first round draft pick (second overall) in 2004, could not contain his smile as he draped the jersey over his ******* on-down shirt.
"I am really happy to be here today," he said through his interpreter, Olga McQueen. "It was my dream to come here and play for the Pittsburgh Penguins."
The Penguins' new marketing slogan – "Experience the Evolution" – might have to be changed to "Experience the Russian Evolution" in the wake of Malkin's incredible odyssey. In early August, he abandoned his hometown team, Metallurg Magnitogorsk, at the Helsinki Airport. He'd just signed a one-year deal with the club, but said he did so under extreme pressure from team management. He quickly realized his mistake.

The fight game is an unforgiving one.
Per MMA Junkie on Thursday, PFL DC will no longer feature Thad Jean(10-0) vs. ShamilMusaev (18-1-1) in the main attraction. For currentlyundisclosed reasons, Musaev has been forced to withdraw from hiswelterweight championship affair headlining the card at theCareFirst Arena in the U.S. Capitol. In the Russian's stead will beErnestoRodriguez (11-1), who first postedof his change in opponent and vastly elevated stakes on Wednesdaynight—he was expecting to battle AaronMcKenzie—and then fully confirmedthe news shortly after its announcement. Jean did as well shortlythereafter on his InstagramStories.
This is one of numerous cancelations on fight week and earlier, asathletes MagomedUmalatov, JackCartwright, DenisGoltsov, BrunoCappelozza and MandoGutierrez were all booked for this fight card at one time. Dueto a number of largely undeclared reasons—Cappelozza encounteredissues with his visa—all of those combatants and their scheduledpairings have either been canceled or switched around on this cardor to another. For instance, Cappelozza vs. hasbeen **** ped to PFL Charlotte in August. The current PFL DC lineup sees eightmatches remaining, although the promotion has not indicated if anylate-notice fights will be slotted on the billing.
Jean was vying to become the first U.S.-born PFL champion atop thisevent—not including those that won tournaments—and he will stillreceive that honor. "Silverback" comes into this five-rounder withample momentum on his side as the winner of the final PFL tourneyin 2025. There, he knocked out MukhamedBerkhamov, outworked JasonJackson and outperformed LoganStorley in the span of four months to claim a $500,000 checkand chance for PFL gold.
"Starboy" Rodriguez seizes this opportunity having won his PFLdebut in March. Against MasayukiKikuiri, he snagged a majority decision despite dropping whatmany observers felt was a 10-8 third round, completing a bout inwhich all three Sherdog official scorers turned in 28-28 drawtallies. The fighter born in Cuba worked his way up the Tuff-N-Uffladder from 2022 to 2025, culminating in six wins with the LasVegas-based league to reach a major organization.

Rules are to Wimbledon like lipsticks are to a cosmetics shop: There are lots. After the distracting champagne corks that kept popping through the 2025 final match between Jannick Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz, with one landing at Sinner's feet before he was about to serve, we expect a possible ban on mid-match cork popping to come into effect one of these days.
Then, of course, there are the rules of the game, but the rules that we find most interesting are the fashion ones. For example, players at Wimbledon have to wear all-white outfits (except for women, who can wear dark undershorts beneath their skirts). While there aren't technically guidelines for guests' outfits other than a ban on bold logos and political slogans, it's well-known that you should look pulled together if you're attending a match.
Ah, but there is an exception, and that's for those sitting in the royal box, who need to adhere to the tennis club's rules of dresses or skirts for women and suits and ties for men. NB: Though it's not fashion protocol, there is also a rule that states children aren't allowed in the royal box on centre court. The exception? The royal offspring, naturally, back during the 2025 final, that meant that Prince George and Princess Charlotte sat alongside their parents, Prince William and Princess Catherine of Wales. Folks immediately noticed something interesting about Charlotte's look, though: her nail polish, which didn't seem to carry on one specific royal tradition.

Michigan State baseball is going to rely heavily on Logan Pikur next season. Over his first three seasons in East Lansing, he appeared in 64 games on the mound, making eight starts. When his senior year begins in 2027, he will be one of the most highly relied upon pitchers for the Spartans.
In preparation for his senior season, the West Bloomfield (MI) native is competing in the highly regarded Cape Cod League for the Falmouth Commodores. Through nine appearances with the team, Pikur has been solid, holding a 3.45 ERA, but he may have just had his best appearance.
Pikur worked six scoreless innings, allowing just one hit to go along with two walks and three strike outs. With the Spartans needing starting pitching, this is the type of outing that shows what Pikur could be in his senior year.

The NFL is getting a double dose of the Paul brothers this week.
Days after former NFL quarterback-slash-Las Vegas Raiders minority owner-slash-Fox Sports NFL color commentator Tom Brady slapped Logan Paul at Fanatics Fest, Logan's brother, Jake Paul, laid out his plans to join the NFL.
"I mean, it's pretty simple," Jake Paul said in an interview at Fanatics Fest. "Really all it's gonna take is just me, after boxing, practicing some routes. I have a couple teams and coaches that I've already talked to that are interested in bringing me on to the team. It's really going to be quite easy."
PAUL BROTHERS: Tom Brady, Logan Paul continue feud with NSFW greeting at World Cup
Paul, 29, rose to fame on Vine and YouTube in the early 2010s. After a brief acting career from 2016, he began his pro boxing career in 2020. Since then, he's compiled a 12-2 record in 14 professional fights, with seven wins by knockout. Paul's most recent match was against British boxer Anthony Joshua and ended in Paul's second loss – and his first loss via knockout – as well as a double jaw break.

Tom Brady has had quite an eventful offseason.
Fox Sports’ $375 million man has leaned all the way into a supposed feud with YouTuber turned WWE superstar Logan Paul, which bled over into Fanatics Fest and the World Cup final this past weekend. All the while, he has maintained a strong presence across the content creator world with personalities young enough to be his children, and partnered with far too many companies to count — including a handful that are ethically questionable.
While Brady clearly is bursting out of the cocoon he lived in while **** embling perhaps the greatest NFL career ever, he also appears to be saying yes to everything, a choice that has landed him in what seems to be a mid-life crisis of sorts. Yet the precise beginning of this odd phase of Brady’s public life is hard to pinpoint.
In the latest episode of The Sports Gossip Show, however, host and former Fox Sports digital talent Charlotte Wilder offered a detailed theory for how Fox and its management team helped to unlock the strange figure Brady has become.
“Having worked at Fox Sports, they gas their talent up more than any network that has ever existed. They also surround their talent with yes-men. They don’t say no to the people … they deem important,” Wilder said. “They create an environment where everything is enabled, and no one says, ‘Should we think about this for a second?’ And they make you feel … as if you are invincible.”

Drew Brees wants WWE to turn Tom Brady and Logan Paul's increasingly theatrical rivalry into an actual wrestling match.
TMZ Sports approached the former New Orleans Saints quarterback in New York City on July 21 and asked whether Brady and Paul should settle their public feud in the ring. "They should!" Brees replied. "They should schedule that."
Brees did not propose a date, venue or match format, and WWE has not announced Brady for an event.
Brady encouraged the speculation during Fanatics Fest in New York, saying he believed he could manage at least one match despite retiring from professional football.
"I feel like I could get in there for at least one match," Brady said, according to People. He added that he had been waiting for WWE president Nick Khan to develop a storyline that would get him "in the mix."

After **** embling such a stellar class of 2027, it comes as no surprise to see the Wisconsin Badgers are already eyeing top 2028 recruits.
Illinois native Logan Thompson is a four-star athlete who stands 6-foot, 175-pounds.
The Althoff Catholic High Schooler is the No. 6 cornerback in the country, according to 247Sports. If that's not impressive enough, he's a top 50 recruit in the entire nation.
On3's Allen Trieu revealed that he has a visit lined up with LSU for their home opener, but Indiana has a planned visit as well.
Usually, the Badgers would already be out, knowing they're competing against top teams. Recently, though, they beat the likes of Alabama and Notre Dame to bring in one of Florida's premier linebackers, Cale Britt.

NEW DELHI (AP) — Supporters of India's youth-led ******* roach movement clashed with police Monday as thousands of them tried to march to Parliament to demand the education minister's resignation, while the government appeared to make its first outreach to the movement's leaders.
Police fired tear gas and charged at protesters with batons after demonstrators tried to breach security barricades surrounding the protest site in central New Delhi, marking one of the most serious confrontations yet in the movement's campaign against Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government.
Delhi Police said the march had not been authorized and that restrictions were needed to maintain law and order around Parliament during the monsoon session, which began Monday.
The crowd at Jantar Mantar, a designated site for protests just a few kilometers from Parliament, included students, professionals and families with young children. Many carried backpacks with water and food, expecting a long day, while others waved Indian flags. Police urged protesters to disperse over loudspeakers, as the crowd chanted slogans against the education minister and Modi.
The ******* roach Janta Party emerged in May after the Supreme Court chief justice compared some unemployed young people to "cockroaches" during an unrelated hearing. Supporters embraced the remark, turning it into a satirical movement that has attracted millions of followers on social media.

Tom Brady and Logan Paul are no strangers to taking shots at one another. Their latest exchange saw the seven-time Super Bowl champion slap the WWE star at a recent event, but some are wondering whether it was a publicity stunt to draw attention to Brady's possible introduction to WWE. The strike came a day after the former football star expressed his desire to be invited into the wrestling ring.
On Friday, July 17, Tom Brady and Logan Paul shared the stage for a panel at Fanatics Fest in New York. Afterward, the two reportedly got into a heated discussion that ended with Brady slapping Paul across the face.
A video of the exchange made rounds on social media, with the two men standing close to each other, talking seriously. At one point, Brady removes his hand from his pocket and slaps Paul. NBA star Karl-Anthony Towns stepped between them to prevent the incident from escalating further, and Brady and Paul went their separate ways.
As of writing, the video has been viewed 9 million times, and many users aren't convinced the beef between them is real. "This is the worst scripted scenario I've ever seen and I watched Jersey Shore," one person commented.
Later, both Paul and Brady posted the video on their respective social media accounts. The influencer-turned-wrestler claimed he was slapped because he was "roasting" him over beating him at a flag football match. "Horrible example for the kids," he wrote.

Retired NFL quarterback Tom Brady slapped YouTuber and WWE star Logan Paul in the face while on stage at Fanatics Fest in New York City on Friday.
The two engaged in a seemingly heated verbal altercation before Brady let Paul have it with a swift slap. New York Knicks star Karl-Anthony Town, who stood behind the two onstage as they argued, stepped between Brady and Paul when the argument turned physical.
Brady and Paul were quickly escorted off-stage. It has yet to be confirmed whether the incident was staged, either as a preview for a surprise Brady WWE debut or as extra clout and hype as Paul, who is recovering from a torn tricep, said he is ready to return to the ring.
The seven-time Super Bowl champ shared footage of the altercation on X, calling Paul a "dork":

The most-watched man in America right now is a 39-year-old from Rosario, Argentina, who barely raises his voice. The World Cup is here, on our own soil for the first time — the United States, Canada and Mexico — and Lionel Messi is playing as the defending champion in his sixth tournament. He does not trash talk. He does not pound his chest. He leads from behind, they say, which is a polite way of saying he lets the ball and the trophies do the talking.
Messi has won the thing men spend their whole lives arguing about, eight Ballon d'Ors, a World Cup, more or less every honor the game can hand a person, and he has done it while looking, most of the time, like a shy man who would rather be home. He is the best argument I know against everything the U.S. is currently trying to sell boys about what a man is.
Because at the same moment, on the same screens, a truck company is selling the opposite. Ram Trucks released an ad this year called "In Loud We Trust." The voice growling over it belongs to Dana White, the president and CEO of the UFC, who does donuts in a blacked-out performance truck while the slogan lands. In loud we trust: A play, in case you missed it, on the words printed on our money. In God we trust, swapped out for an engine. The sacred traded for the subwoofer. The commercial arrived tied to a UFC fight card staged on the White House lawn, and plenty of people loved it. But plenty of people, including a lot of religious folks who did not appreciate their motto turned into a truck commercial, did not.
Here is what the ad is actually selling, underneath the flags and the engines and the whole ****** nal of American noise: masculinity as a thing you can purchase and perform. Not do. Perform. It is the same product professional wrestling has sold for decades, but at least the WWE has the honesty to admit the whole thing is staged. The truck ad wants you to believe the roar is real. That if you are loud enough, and your engine is big enough, and your grievance is hot enough, that is the same thing as being a man. It is not. It never has been.
The difference is backbone. Gusto is fine, even wonderful. Messi has gusto, and Paul Newman drove race cars; ****** ody is asking men to be quiet little mice. The problem is not volume. The problem is volume with nothing underneath it, noise offered as a substitute for the thing itself. Real masculinity is proven in the work, in the results, in the people you protect, and it does not need a camera to exist.

Texas A&M is becoming a true destination for top volleyball athletes. The program is not yet considered a traditional blue blood, but head coach Jamie Morrison, now working under a new contract, is pushing the Aggies toward that level. Winning championships is one way to climb into that tier, and the Aggies have already done that. Developing athletes who can compete beyond their collegiate careers is another, and Morrison has checked that box as well.
The Aggies not only powered through their first championship season. Four standouts from that national ****** le team are now preparing for their second professional seasons. Their progress shows that Texas A&M can win at the highest level and can also produce athletes with staying power in the professional ranks.
Logan Lednicky, Maddie Waak, Ifenna Cos Okpalla, and Morgan Perkins are all beginning their second seasons in League One Volleyball.
Lednicky and Waak are moving from Houston to Salt Lake. Cos Okpalla is moving from Salt Lake to Houston. Perkins will play her first season in League One Volleyball with Minnesota after spending her rookie year with the San Diego Mojo of Major League Volleyball.
Their continued rise reflects the foundation Morrison and his staff have built. Texas A&M is developing championship-level athletes who are capable of thriving in the next stage of their careers.

SOUTH BEND – This coming season should be it for two Notre Dame basketball players.
In any other year, this coming season would be it for two Notre Dame basketball players. Thanks to the NCAA, this coming season might not be it for two Notre Dame basketball players.
Starting spot: How last season ended cannot ever happen again to Notre Dame basketball
Noie: This is a big swing for Notre Dame basketball ******* istant coach Tony Rack
No matter how 2026-27 unfolds for Notre Dame basketball, guards Logan Imes and Braeden Shrewsberry, the only traditional seniors on the roster, will have something they never planned to have after four full seasons of college basketball.

Ryan Blaney earned his 19th career NASCAR Cup victory, winning from pole position at Atlanta in a three-wide battle. Blaney also swept both stages, dominating most of the event.
Bubba Wallace finished second, but was later penalized for advancing his position below the yellow line. That penalty dropped him down to 29th as the last car on the lead lap.
Christopher Bell was ultimately credited with second, Carson Hocevar third, Ty Gibbs fourth, and Erik Jones fifth.
Shane van Gisbergen finished sixth, matching his finish from this race earlier in the year. Austin Dillon was seventh, Tyler Reddick eighth, Joey Logano ninth, and Chris Buescher tenth.
Impressively, 29 of 38 starters finished on the lead lap in Sunday's race, which ended just before 2am EST on Monday due to a lengthy weather delay.

There are thunderstorms in the area, and rain began to fall after the cars were stopped on pit road.
Ryan Blaney was leading the race at the time of the stoppage, with Bubba Wallace second, Tyler Reddick third, Christopher Bell fourth, and Chase Elliott fifth.
Erik Jones, Kyle Larson, Carson Hocevar, Joey Logano, and Ty Gibbs fill out the remainder of the top ten.

Ben Johnson already getting slack for Bears offseason move originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
Ben Johnson and the Chicago Bears are coming up on their second season together, and if it's anything like his debut with the team, the fanbase is in for a treat.
But, things aren't perfect in Chicago. Johnson made a few calls during the offseason that have raised eyebrows and made people ask, "What is he thinking?"
Don't doubt Johnson, though. Just look at last season. No. 1 in the NFC North. In the playoffs. Johnson totally turned this franchise around on a dime. But, that doesn't mean he's perfect, and one of his decisions is getting some pushback.
General manager Ryan Poles should get some slack for this decision, too. During the offseason, the Bears traded a 2027 fifth-round pick to the New England Patriots for Garrett Bradbury. Then, they picked center Logan Jones in the second round of the 2026 NFL draft. It seemed unnecessary at best.

MLB insider hints wild college outcome for Giants' Tony Vitello that would not be a surprise originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The 2026 season for the San Francisco Giants has been a complete mess. While Luis Arraez has been a bright spot, and Bryce Eldridge looks great, the Giants are in a terrible spot as a team right now.
All but Logan Webb might be available for trade this summer, and the Giants are likely to be trade deadline sellers amid a disastrous first season for Tony Vitello in Major League Baseball.
Amid such a poor season, USA Today's Bob Nightengale hinted that a wild outcome for Vitello with his MLB job and a potential return to college baseball "wouldn't surprise" anyone after this year.
"It might be too embarrassing to fire Vitello after one year, but it wouldn't surprise a soul to see Vitello return to the college ranks if the right opening comes his way," Nightengale writes.

The Colorado Rockies completed a busy opening day of the 2026 MLB Draft by selecting five college players across the first four rounds.
Colorado began with Kentucky shortstop Tyler Bell at No. 10, then used consecutive picks on Georgia catcher Daniel Jackson at No. 37 and UCLA right-hander Logan Reddemann at No. 38. The Rockies returned to the catching position with Cincinnati's Jack Natili at No. 76 before closing Day 1 with Mississippi State right-hander Ben Davis at No. 104.
The group provided the first substantial look at the amateur strategy of President of Baseball Operations Paul DePodesta and General Manager Josh Byrnes.
Bell gives the Rockies a switch-hitting shortstop who gets on base. Bell posted a .510 on-base percentage in 2026.
Jackson adds a power-oriented catcher with athleticism and considerable upside, while Reddemann brings velocity, a deep ******* nal and the advanced feel to develop as a starter.
