Palo Alto Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ:PANW) is entering its fiscal 2027 with strong momentum, particularly in next-generation security. But investors now demand more from the cybersecurity company after its stock rallied sharply.
On September 7, PhillipCapital downgraded Palo Alto stock to Neutral from Accumulate but raised the price target to $346 from $320.
PhillipCapital's move captures the central investment debate. It's that Palo Alto's opportunities are compelling, but the stock's roughly 160% rise from its February low to its August peak has raised the bar for further gains.
Palo Alto Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ:PANW)'s revenue rose 34% YoY to $3.4 billion in fiscal 2026 fourth quarter. More importantly, Next-Generation Security ARR (NGS ARR) surged 63% to $9.10 billion. The company added nearly $1 billion of net new NGS ARR in the quarter. The company targets $20 billion in NGS ARR by fiscal 2030, as it expects platformization and AI infrastructure investment to continue driving growth.
More than 65% of Palo Alto's NGS ARR comes from platformized customers. Meanwhile, AI is expanding the addressable market. As enterprises deploy agents, Palo Alto offerings such as Prisma AIRS and Cortex, alongside CyberArk's identity-security platform, can address emerging needs.

NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA) is expanding its global AI infrastructure ambitions, with Australia emerging as an important new market for its growing portfolio of GPUs, CPUs, networking products, and AI software.
On September 9, it announced strategic partnerships with Australian NVIDIA Cloud Partners (NCPs) and AI infrastructure providers as it works with local partners toward an AI infrastructure buildout of up to 2 gigawatts by 2027.
The initiative will expand the availability of land, power, and data center shell capacity designed to host multiple generations of Nvidia's DSX AI factory infrastructure. While the buildout is designed to meet Australia's growing demand for AI computing, it could also create a significant new source of demand for Nvidia's hardware and software ecosystem.
The Australian buildout could benefit NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA) beyond the initial sale of GPUs. Nvidia will provide its DSX platform, accelerated computing, networking, software, and ecosystem support to the emerging network of AI factories. DSX is also compatible with Nvidia's CUDA ecosystem.
As enterprises, universities, government agencies, and startups increasingly build AI workloads around Nvidia's architecture, the company could strengthen CUDA's position as the underlying software platform for AI development and deployment.

Pakistan great Wasim Akram has expressed frustration over the country's continued struggles in Test cricket, arguing that the lack of quality batting talent emerging through the system has become a major concern.
Speaking to the media in Lahore on Friday, the former fast bowler said Pakistan's home-and-away Test series defeat to Bangladesh should have prompted the authorities to take immediate corrective measures. Instead, he felt little changed after what should have been a warning sign.
Akram pointed towards the Pakistan Super League (PSL), which has been running for a decade, and questioned whether the tournament had produced any significant batting talent for the national team.
"It has been 10 years since the PSL started, but has a single batter been produced by the PSL? Yes we have produced a few bowlers but tell me have we produced any noteworthy batting talent," he questioned.
Akram also highlighted the emergence of a 15-year-old batting talent in neighbouring India, an apparent reference to Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, as an example of the kind of player Pakistan needs to produce.
"I think when we produce a batting talent like the 14-year old then we will see improvement coming through," Akram said.
While he felt Pakistan remained competitive in white-ball cricket, the former pacer was far less optimistic about the team's position in the longer format, describing the state of Test cricket as "bad".
Akram also played down the importance of who takes charge as Pakistan's coach, saying that whether the PCB appoints him or Gary Kirsten, the fundamental challenge would remain because the coach would still be working with the same pool of players.
Rather than repeatedly changing personnel, Akram called for the PCB's domestic structure to be given time to produce results. He believes the system should be allowed to operate for three to four years, with patience and long-term planning essential to any improvement.
Akram admitted that he was just as disappointed as any other Pakistani by the team's recent performances.
"Club cricket needs to be revived if we want improvement in red ball cricket. The PCB should spend 100 million rupees each in Karachi and Lahore, as talent comes from club cricket."
He also called for greater consistency in the national side, pointing out that Pakistan have continued to rotate players without addressing the underlying problems.
He said there should be consistency in the team, but the players remain the same -- they just keep coming and going.
Pakistan's ongoing Test series in England also came under scrutiny, with Akram criticising the team's approach against the home bowlers.
"In England in the ongoing series they didn't move their front foot forward, playing bowlers like Ollie Robinson while standing rooted in the crease. You need to play with courage, but for that, talent is essential."

After transferring from Crown Point in Indiana, junior tight end Ty Kennedy had to carve out a role for himself on a Mount Carmel offense that was already loaded with returning stars.
For Kennedy, though, the transition to a new team, a new school and a new state has been a smooth one.
"I wouldn't say it was hard at all," Kennedy said. "The culture here, you just have to buy into it. This place is great. I couldn't ask for anything better. Teammates, coaches. Coach (Jordan) Lynch is obviously a mastermind on the offensive side of the ball. All my teammates are great.
"It's amazing."
Kennedy is emerging as yet another playmaker for the Caravan. He hauled in four catches for 66 yards and two touchdowns Friday night as host Mount Carmel pulled away late for a 56-26 Catholic League Blue win over Marist in Chicago.

Zhihu Inc. (NYSE:ZH) disclosed on September 6 that a wholly owned subsidiary had signed a conditional RMB1.5 billion cash commitment to Tianjin Lisi Xingshen Equity Investment Partnership. The agreement, dated September 4, requires shareholder approval, with payments funded internally through capital calls.
Zhihu Inc. (NYSE:ZH) expects to hold no more than 30% of the fund and will have no role in daily management or individual investment decisions. The blind-pool structure asks shareholders to approve a manager and strategy before specific investments are identified. The fund targets early-to-mid-stage private AI and technology companies with significant mainland China connections.
The strategic rationale fits the company's existing capabilities. Zhihu Inc. (NYSE:ZH) is developing AI search, expert-data solutions and AI-enabled content businesses. Exposure to foundation models, infrastructure, robotics and applications could create technology partnerships and help identify emerging customer needs.
A specialist fund also supplies investment research, deal sourcing and portfolio oversight that would require substantial internal resources to replicate. For shareholders, the potential benefit combines investment returns with commercial opportunities for the core content platform. Any cooperation would still require separate **** sment and agreement.
There is an operating business to build around. Second-quarter paid content and intellectual-property operations revenue increased to RMB425.9 million from RMB408.2 million. Zhihu Inc. (NYSE:ZH) also reduced total operating expenses by 13% to RMB469.4 million. These results support a focused approach in which outside technology complements established content and expert relationships.

NEW YORK – Ready or not, here she comes.
Just when you think you know Tory Burch's next move, she subverts expectations and continues her reign as one of the most interesting American designers today.
The designer brought out a cadre of stars for her New York Fashion Week show Thursday, Sept. 10, at the Sunken Garden by Isamu Noguchi in downtown Manhattan. Though far from an underground designer, Burch took her show to subterranean levels before she reached new heights with her collection and her front row, which included a fashionably timely Lauryn Hill, flanked by daughter Sara Marley and niece Kymora Marley, as well as actress Amanda Seyfried, "Saturday Night Live" alum Chloe Fineman and fashion power broker Anna Wintour.
Alex Eala, the young newcomer who dominated at the US Open until her defeat by best friend and fellow young star Iva Jovic, also joined along with emerging talent Ravyn Lenae and established celebrities like Padma Lakshmi and director Janicza Bravo.
Hill, in oversized sunglasses and an olive-green cinched top and tiered skirt with a silk scarf draped delicately over her head, garnered camera flashes from every angle. Perched atop her lap (and on the arms of everyone in the front row) was Burch's newly released Bunny Knot bag, with Hill's in a ****** er yellow color with the dark knot detailing looking like polka dots.

Michigan defensive end Dom Nichols understands exactly what John Mateer can do when a pass rush loses containment.
He saw it last September.
Mateer threw for 270 yards and added 74 more on the ground while accounting for three touchdowns in Oklahoma's 24-13 victory over Michigan. The Wolverines will get another shot at the Sooners on Saturday, and Nichols is not being subtle about what he expects when Mateer tries to escape the pocket this time.
"He's not getting away from me," Nichols said this week.
There is some bite behind the confidence. Nichols opened the 2026 season with nine tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks against Western Michigan, emerging as one of the few uncomplicated positives from Michigan's shaky 13-12 victory.

FIRST ON FOX: Roy Cooper, the former North Carolina governor and a Democratic candidate for the Senate, believes his party should incorporate a big-tent approach to an emerging wave of socialist candidates backed by the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA).
When asked if he would sign the Promise to America, a repudiation of socialist stances put out by moderate Democrats, Cooper said he wouldn't.
"I don't see any need to," Cooper said in video footage obtained by Fox News Digital.
"I think the party needs a wide spectrum, particularly at a time when the Republican Party is shrinking and having all kinds of loyalty tests. I think we need to have all kinds of folks to be a part of our party."

On August 27, AstraZeneca PLC (NYSE:AZN) and Amgen Inc. (NASDAQ:AMGN) scored a shared clinical victory. Positive high-level results from the Phase III CROSSING trial showed that their co-developed severe asthma drug, TEZSPIRE, achieved statistically significant and clinically meaningful improvements across both co-primary endpoints, histologic remission and the frequency/severity of dysphagia, and all key secondary endpoints at week 24 in patients with eosinophilic esophagitis. These benefits were sustained through week 52 across both tested doses, accompanied by a safety profile consistent with its approved indications. While CROSSING highlights their joint R&D success, a closer look at their standalone financial performance reveals distinct growth trajectories.
Both pharmaceutical giants delivered solid Q2 2026 results, but AstraZeneca is showing stronger overall financial momentum. AstraZeneca PLC (NYSE:AZN)'s Q2 revenue increased 6% year over year to $15.38 billion, supported by its Oncology franchise, which grew 18% in H1 to $14.12 billion, and its Rare Disease portfolio, which increased 13%. Core EPS rose 21% to $2.63, beating expectations, while management reaffirmed its full-year 2026 outlook for mid-to-high single-digit revenue growth and low double-digit Core EPS growth.
Amgen Inc. (NASDAQ:AMGN) reported Q2 revenue of $10.1 billion, up 10% year over year, while non-GAAP EPS increased 4% to $6.29. Although its key growth products advanced 26%, mature products faced significant biosimilar pressure, with Prolia revenue declining 32% and XGEVA falling 34%. Amgen nevertheless raised its 2026 revenue guidance midpoint to $39.4 billion.
Overall, AZN holds the financial edge due to stronger EPS growth, broader portfolio momentum, and less exposure to the biosimilar erosion affecting AMGN's mature products.
Amgen's bull case is supported by robust growth in key products, which increased 26%, and $3.5 billion in Q2 free cash flow, providing substantial capital flexibility. Wells Fargo raised its Amgen price target to $435 from $400 on September 4, citing potential upside from HORIZON and pipeline ****** ets such as olpasiran. New Phase III VESALIUS-CV data also showed Repatha reduced the risk of death by 20% in high-risk adults without a prior heart attack or stroke, with heart attack risk reductions emerging as early as six months. However, accelerating biosimilar competition affecting legacy franchises such as Prolia and XGEVA remains a key risk to sustained margin expansion.

Dow is considering an exit from its stake in the $20-billion Sadara Chemical Company venture with Saudi Aramco as the U.S. chemicals giant battles a prolonged industry downturn compounded by the Iran war.
Dow could sell its reported 35% interest in the Saudi petrochemical complex, with Aramco potentially emerging as a buyer, Bloomberg reported on Wednesday, citing people familiar with the matter. Strategic and financial investors could also be interested, although no final decision has been made.
The potential exit comes as the global chemicals industry struggles with weak demand, persistent overcapacity and elevated costs. The Middle East conflict has added another layer of pressure by disrupting petrochemical flows and supply chains and increasing transportation and operating expenses.
Sadara itself was temporarily shut earlier this year due to conflict-related supply disruptions.
Located in Jubail Industrial City, Sadara was developed as a $20-billion mega-project and was the world's largest integrated chemicals complex built in a single phase when completed. Its 26 manufacturing plants have the capacity to produce more than 3 million metric tons of performance plastics and high-value chemicals annually.

It really just feels like each series the Atlanta Braves have been in lately has been like them leaving a snake pit for a lion's den only to realize that they've stepped into a piranha's pond and escaped that just to find out that the dry land was quicksand. "I don't know how much more battle-tested we need to be," quipped Walt Weiss when he was asked by the media during Tuesday's pregame press conference about the tough schedule that the Braves have been dealing with as of late — and still have to navigate going forward.
Indeed, one of the takeaways from this patch is that the Braves will have faced some of the toughest teams that baseball currently has to offer once they eventually reach the Postseason and they should be more-than-ready to handle whatever's in front of them. With that being said, the Braves had to deal with another serious test in the form of the Tampa Bay Rays and once the smoke cleared, it was less about acing the test and more like simply doing enough to pass the test. Did Atlanta manage that? Let's get into it.
This one was competitive for two innings, as the Braves matched Junior Caminero's two-out dinger off of AJ Smith-Shawver in the first inning with a run of their own in the bottom half of that frame. The deadlock didn't last long at all, as the Rays made the third inning a long one for Smith-Shawver. AJSS was one out away from potentially putting two outs on the board against the Rays in that inning. Instead, Liam Hicks sent one flying into the Georgia night sky for a two-run shot. Smith-Shawver was one out away from keeping it at 3-1 before Victor Mesa Jr. hit a bouncer that eluded the glove of Ozzie Albies and dribbled into the infield for an RBI single that made it 4-1.
AJ Smith-Shawver was only able to make it through 3.1 innings with those four runs allowed, but credit is due to Brent Suter for going 3.2 innings while only giving up a single run while he was out there. Elieser Hernández wasn't as fortunate, as he surrendered two runs across his two innings of work and then got the DFA treatment once the next morning rolled around. It really felt like the Rays were either ****** ing and dunking or hitting moonshots, there was no in-between in this one.
Meanwhile, a nasty trend for the Braves was emerging while they were on the mound. It's not particularly shocking that Freddy Peralta ended up going six innings with just one run allowed since he'd done pretty well in two previous starts against Atlanta with the Mets. It wasn't shocking either to see the Rays bullpen clamp down on the Braves they did on Tuesday, either. What was shocking is that the Braves came out of this game with 11 batted ****** that were at least 95-mph that ended up turning into outs. Folks, that's tough!

Stewart ***** et Management's flagship portfolio returned 15.97%, net of fees, in the second quarter, and the S&P 500 Index gained 15.20%. YTD, it appreciated 5.37%, net of fees, and the S&P 500 Index gained 10.21%. The letter can be downloaded here. Despite geopolitical uncertainties, share prices surged higher as emerging prospects for a ceasefire in the Middle East restored market composure and investor optimism for continued earnings growth in the second half of the year. Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams is at something of an inflection point in his young NFL career. Heading into Year 3 and his second season under Ben Johnson, there's a certain level of expectation that development will be clear and he'll ascend to (or, at least, toward) the top tier of the position.
The evidence to be documented to indicate such development will be extensive, from pre-snap and process to his footwork. Offensive coordinator Press Taylor has indicated that some of the foundational, if less quantifiable, components of that evidence are already in play, though.
While we've heard about Williams' physical and more tangible growth in camp the second time around with this coaching staff, Taylor has observed more abstract qualities emerging out of the third-year signal-caller.

A sputtering lineup stirred in the eighth inning. Jose Altuve struck a one-out double, putting him on the cusp of a career milestone. Christian Walker flared a single into shallow left field. LaMonte Wade Jr. did the same, driving in Altuve and paring a deficit to one run.
The current Houston Astros offense can make that seem sizable. The additional hit it required did not appear. Jonathan Loáisiga got Daulton Varsho to wave at a third-strike changeup. Taylor Trammell, the second pinch-hitter of the inning, popped out to end it.
With a 3-2 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks, the Astros dropped the deciding game of their series at Daikin Park and concluded a 4-3 homestand with consecutive defeats. They went 8-5 over a 13-game stretch with no off-day, emerging from it with a 73-71 record.
Houston scored three or fewer runs in eight of 13 games during that stretch. Its offense entered Sunday averaging 3.9 runs over its past 30 games, scoring the fifth-fewest runs in the majors in that stretch. Its .220 average was the sport's lowest in that span and its .368 slugging percentage the sixth-lowest.
Sunday, the Astros took three at-bats with a man in scoring position in the first seven innings and went hitless in them. Arizona starter Eduardo Rodriguez allowed one run in six innings on a first-inning home run by Yordan Alvarez. Alvarez also popped out with two runners on base to end the seventh.

Is Seattle Seahawks defensive tackle Byron Murphy II the gold standard at his position in the NFL?
Murphy emerged as a breakout star last season after recording seven sacks on the year, up from the 0.5 that he recorded the year prior, and helping the Seahawks win the Super Bowl at the end of the season. Murphy may not have been named an All-Pro in 2025, but he is not far off from reaching a level that few other defensive tackles in the league are at in 2026.
Fox Sports' Bucky Brooks named Murphy to his All-22 preseason dream team for the 2026 season, identifying him as one of the top two DTs slated to excel in the league.
"Murphy's activity and aggression force interior defenders to pay close attention to his whereabouts, particularly on pivotal downs where the Seahawks are known to crank up the pressure," Brooks said. "As an emerging standout coming off a season with seven sacks and 13 quarterback hits, the 6-foot-0, 306-pounder is ready to take his game up a notch as an All-Pro-caliber defender at the line."
Murphy is a defensive tackle to watch yet again in 2026. Another huge year-over-year jump from last season to the present one from Murphy will not come as a shocker. Over 10 sacks registered and additional contributions across the stats sheet make him a player with the potential to be one of the two best defensive tackles in the league when the season is said and done.

Manchester United fell short of securing all three points on Merseyside on Sunday. Everton pulled out two screamers in the final minutes to equalize twice against Michael Carrick's Reds in what could easily have been a second straight win. Instead, it's a third match in a row conceding two goals and more to ponder going forward about the defensive approach.
The Reds looked the better side for much of the contest. A first half of positive wing play did not produce many chances despite the exciting options up front. The best looks at goal came on a try for the spectacular by Bruno Fernandes and a ball across the box by Marcus Rashford.
Matheus Cunha was the one who got on the end of the ball from Rashford, but he sent the chance well over the target with his shot form the edge of the box.
United got on the scoresheet right after the restart though. After emerging from the dressing room at 0-0, Bryan Mbeumo got an opportunity to cut inside and fire past Jordan Pickford in the 46th minute. It was a low effort that beat the England No. 1 to his right side.
It appeared that the goal could spark a second-half flurry, but Everton settled in and began a long push for an equalizer. Senne Lammens was called to action a handful of times without the Blues finding a clear look at goal, and United's only real threat to double the lead came from another bit of Rashford magic. He skipped through the defense and somehow maintained the balance and poise to heel the ball to Cunha centrally, but James Tarkowski got a foot through the Brazilian's legs to poke the ball away before he could fire.

NEW YORK (AP) — Iva Jovic needed more than three hours to end Alex Eala's run at the U.S. Open.
Coco Gauff is up next, with a spot in the quarterfinals at stake.
Jovic beat Eala 7-5, 3-6, 7-5 in a three-hour, three-set, back-and-forth showcase of two of tennis' emerging young stars inside Arthur Ashe Stadium on Saturday night.
"That felt like a marathon, and I felt like I lost my sanity five times over to win that match," Jovic said. "But it's really worth it for this feeling. I'm usually not one that shows that many emotions, but this one really meant a lot to me. It's everything to have another match here at the U.S. Open."
The 18-year-old American acknowledged the crowd not always being on her side against Eala, a fan favorite from the Philippines, whose fervent following has become one of the biggest storylines in the sport. But she rallied from down 4-2 in the third set and got a hearty ovation after finishing it off and falling to the court.

This is an exciting time for investors. Emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI) and electric vehicles (EVs), offer strong investment opportunities in innovative businesses.
One such company is QuantumScape (NASDAQ: QS). It sits at the intersection of AI and EVs, since its solid-state battery technology can provide power for both. The company recently announced the creation of business units dedicated to these two areas, and a third focused on other markets, including aerospace and defense.
Missed Nvidia in 2009? This Rare Signal Is Flashing Again. In 2009, a "Double Down" signal flashed for a little-known chipmaker called Nvidia. For the first time in years, that same "Total Conviction" signal is flashing for a company 1/100th the size of Nvidia. Continue »
After hitting a 52-week high of $19.07 in 2025, the stock fell to a low of $4.77 toward the end of July and has remained near that level. Is this a buy opportunity? Here's a closer look at QuantumScape and whether it's a worthwhile investment.
The energy density, power performance, and safety profile of QuantumScape's solid-state batteries caught the attention of Volkswagen, which has invested hundreds of millions of dollars in the battery maker over the past several years. Volkswagen isn't the only interested party.

The Vanguard FTSE Emerging Markets ETF (VWO) is held in target-date funds, robo-advisor portfolios, and retirement accounts across the country, with roughly $122 billion across roughly 6,300 emerging-market stocks as of June 30, 2026.
For most holders, the VWO is a set-it-and-forget-it allocation to developing economies across Asia, Latin America, and Africa.
A clause buried in the fund's February 2026 statutory prospectus reframes what those holders own, and few appear to have noticed.
The disclosure warns that VWO can legally shift from a diversified fund to a nondiversified one through ordinary market movement or an index rebalance.
No shareholder vote is required, and Vanguard's portfolio managers do not need to take any deliberate action for that transition to occur.

Seagate gained 6.3% and Western Digital rose 5.9% on September 4 even as the S&P 500 fell 0.4%. The pairing was consistent with investors rotating toward profitable storage infrastructure rather than making a random defensive trade. Generative AI creates enormous data sets, checkpoints, logs, and retrieval stores, so the storage layer can benefit even when investors are less willing to pay for distant software profits. Seagate Technology Holdings plc (NASDAQ:STX) and Western Digital Corporation (NASDAQ:WDC) represent different ways to express that demand.
Source: Seagate
Seagate is the mass-capacity hard-drive specialist. In its latest fiscal-year release, management attributed performance to robust cloud data-center demand and argued that AI-driven data creation should support durable demand for high-capacity storage. The bull case is economic density: hyperscalers still need low-cost capacity behind expensive compute. The bear case is concentration and cyclicality. A few cloud buyers can change purchasing schedules quickly, and areal-density transitions can disrupt yields or costs.
Insider Monkey's filings database counted 131 hedge funds holding Seagate Technology Holdings plc (NASDAQ:STX) at June 30, up from 93 at March 31. Palestra Capital Management, managed by Andrew Immerman and Jeremy Schiffman, reported 386,123 shares, about 31% more than the 294,000 shares disclosed in Q1. That growing cohort indicates wider professional participation, not a guarantee that managers still held the shares when they rallied.
Western Digital offers exposure to hard drives after the Sandisk separation simplified its public-company story. Its appeal is similar: higher-capacity drives can monetize the expanding archive behind AI training and inference. The bear case is that cloud customers have purchasing leverage, while rapid shifts between flash, disk, and emerging architectures can change the mix more quickly than depreciation schedules do.
