Intel (NASDAQ: INTC) stock jumped roughly 7.6% on Thursday after news broke yesterday of a possible deal that would see SK Hynix's memory chips fabricated in Intel's Ohio factories.
The S&P 500 and the Nasdaq Composite rose 1.1% and 1.7%, respectively, on Thursday.
Missed Nvidia in 2009? This Rare Signal Is Flashing Again. In 2009, a "Double Down" signal flashed for a little-known chipmaker called Nvidia. For the first time in years, that same "Total Conviction" signal is flashing for a company 1/100th the size of Nvidia. Continue »
Reuters reported on Sept. 16 that SK Hynix is discussing either leasing part of Intel's planned Ohio facility or forming a venture with Intel and others. The talks are exploratory, and no formal deal has been made, but the possibility of a deal has been enough to boost Intel for two sessions in a row.
If a deal materializes, it could be a significant one for the U.S. chipmaker's Foundry business, which has struggled. The company considered selling it off before CEO Lip-Bu Tan made it a core part of his turnaround efforts after years of underperformance.

Fenimore ***** et Management, an investment management company, released its Q2 2026 investor letter. The letter can be downloaded here. U.S. equity markets saw broad gains in Q2, driven by strong corporate earnings, economic resilience, and enthusiasm for artificial intelligence (AI). Major indices reached all-time highs, though the energy sector declined. Continued earnings growth, especially among AI-related investments, supported the rally. Technology, particularly semiconductors, led performance as demand for AI infrastructure surged. Despite macroeconomic uncertainties and interest rate influences, Fenimore remains committed to investing in high-quality businesses. The Fenimore Small Cap Strategy returned 9.51% in the quarter, lagging the Russell 2000 Index's 21.49% gain. The underperformance was largely driven by avoiding lower-quality tech stocks linked to data center expansions. Additionally, reviewing the Fund's top five holdings could help identify its best picks for 2026.
In its second-quarter 2026 investor letter, Fenimore ***** et Management highlighted Ryan Specialty Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:RYAN). Ryan Specialty Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:RYAN) is a specialty insurance services company that provides distribution, underwriting, product development, administration, and risk management services. On September 17, 2026, Ryan Specialty Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:RYAN) closed at $40.03 per share. The one-month return of Ryan Specialty Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:RYAN) was -8.32%, and its shares lost 25.53% over the past 52 weeks. Ryan Specialty Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:RYAN) has a market capitalization of $10.15 billion.
Fenimore ***** et Management stated the following regarding Ryan Specialty Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:RYAN) in its Q2 2026 investor letter:
"We initiated a position in Ryan Specialty Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:RYAN), which we had previously owned after its initial public offering. The insurance industry has seen softness in rates. While RYAN's model differs from traditional retail brokerage, the company released results citing a volatile environment which led to a decrease in their earnings outlook for the year. We're encouraged by the business's long-term prospects and, in our opinion, its legendary leader Pat Ryan. He is also purchasing shares of RYAN's stock during this weakness."
Ryan Specialty Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:RYAN) is not on our list of 40 Most Popular Stocks Among Hedge Funds Heading Into 2026. According to our database, 32 hedge fund portfolios held Ryan Specialty Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:RYAN) at the end of the second quarter, compared to 35 in the previous quarter. While we acknowledge the potential of Ryan Specialty Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:RYAN) as an investment, we believe certain AI stocks offer greater upside potential and carry less downside risk. If you're looking for an extremely undervalued AI stock that also stands to benefit significantly from Trump-era tariffs and the onshoring trend, see our free report on the best short-term AI stock.

Ethereum's native token, Ether (ETH), is showing signs of underperformance against Bitcoin (BTC), with a bearish double-top setup emerging just as the US Senate's failure to advance the CLARITY Act adds fresh uncertainty to the crypto market.
Ether was trading near 0.03167 BTC on Sept. 16, after failing to sustain its latest advance against Bitcoin.
The ETH/BTC daily chart shows two comparable peaks near 0.03344 BTC, one formed in August and another in September. Together, they resemble a potential double top, a bearish reversal structure that typically develops when buyers repeatedly fail to push price through the same resistance area.
Its neckline sits around 0.03078 BTC, meaning ETH/BTC would need a decisive daily close below that level to validate the breakdown.
If that happens, subtracting the pattern's maximum height from the neckline produces a downside target near 0.0283 BTC. That would represent a decline of roughly 10% from current levels, signaling further Ethereum underperformance relative to Bitcoin.

Jim Cramer raised concerns about The TJX Companies, Inc. (NYSE:TJX) during the September 10 episode of Mad Money, as he said:
We had our CNBC Investing Club meeting today… I review each of the Charitable Trust positions on the call. This time, it was pretty clinical until I got to TJX, the off-price retailer. Candidly, I lost it on TJX. I've owned the stock for the Trust for as long as I can remember, and I've never felt so worried about this franchise. They have a bunch of divisions, but the biggest one, Marmaxx, consisting of TJ Maxx and Marshalls, really blew it. Management told us that they had figured out what had gone wrong and they've already fixed it, but because of competitive reasons or whatever, they wouldn't tell us what went wrong and they wouldn't tell us how they fixed it. I found that infuriating…
I came close to saying, forget it, Jim, it's retail. Sometimes retail is seductive. I love my local TJ Maxx, and I think Home Goods is a fun place to shop. The company's almost always about the best in the industry, crushing Burlington and Ross Stores. But this time, shockingly, Ross Stores upside surprised. It crushed TJX, much better than expected... So why bother sticking your neck out for something in this group? Simple. Because some of the greatest stories of all time have come from retail. Costco's been an incredible long-term performer. Walmart's been terrific. And TJX, it's been a wonder, one of the best stocks ever.
Could they really suddenly have lost it? Did they go all LULU? I don't think so. What happens, though, is you have to be conscious that TJX is right now being buffeted by its group, which is trading down because of the decline in discretionary income from the tax that is higher gasoline. We can't tell how much of its underperformance comes from that alone or maybe the mistakes that management made and says they've corrected. In other words, these retail stocks are very hard to own, even as they seem so easy to grasp.
TJX Companies, Inc. (NYSE:TJX) reported second-quarter fiscal 2027 sales of $15.18 billion, up 5% year over year, while consolidated comparable sales increased 4%. Adjusted diluted EPS rose 11% to $1.22, and the company raised its full-year diluted EPS outlook to $5.31-$5.36, or $5.15-$5.20 excluding an expected $0.16 net benefit from tariff refunds. The weakness was concentrated in Marmaxx, which includes TJ Maxx, Marshalls and Sierra. Comparable sales increased just 1%, down from 6% in the first quarter, while HomeGoods, TJX Canada and TJX International each posted comparable-sales growth of 6% or more.

Florida State Athletics has moved on from Athletic Director Michael Alford after four years leading the program, and the news has taken the Seminoles fanbase by surprise.
While Alford's dismissal itself isn't a surprise given the recent underperformance of the Seminoles football program under head coach Mike Norvell, the timing of the firing was a shock. His firing was announced Monday morning, and it comes the week of FSU's trip to face No. 10 Alabama, a game of significance for the future of Norvell.
Alford's tenure included significant accomplishments across FSU athletics and several marquee coaching hires. Yet the struggles of the football program under Norvell since 2024, an 8-18 record, have overshadowed much of that success, emerging as the most prominent challenge of his time as athletics director.
He also faced scrutiny regarding the department's handling of Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) and roster funding, particularly in football, and the department's massive debt.

The theme of our final regular-season free-agency update? Status quo.
Frankly, not much has happened since the trade deadline. The good players have continued to play well. A few characters have tumbled from underperformance or skyrocketed up from anonymity, but for the most part, August solidified what we already thought we knew.
As a reminder: This is a weak class. It's increasingly unlikely that a single position player will surpass the $100 million threshold, something that hasn't happened in more than a decade. The uncertainty of the lockout will have an impact as the sport prepares to go on a transactional hiatus starting Dec. 1.
We'll be back with free-agency coverage before then, with our comprehensive top 50 free agents list dropping in October.
Notes: Whenever you see a number, a slash and another number, that's a reference to contract years and total earnings. For instance, the shorthand for Bryce Harper's 11-year, $330 million deal would be "11/330." Ages listed below are for the 2027 season.

The fund navigated a highly bifurcated investment environment in the second quarter of 2026, as investor enthusiasm for artificial intelligence and technology drove a sharp rally in growth stocks while capital moved away from more traditional, value-oriented areas. The Fund's Institutional Class returned 0.14% in Q2, compared with 14.49% for the MSCI ACWI ex USA and 14.93% for the MSCI ACWI, while its first-half return stood at 5.37%, versus 13.69% and 11.25%, respectively, for the two benchmarks. The relative underperformance was primarily driven by the Fund's limited exposure to Information Technology as semiconductor and AI-related stocks surged, while its Energy holdings also gave back some earlier gains as oil prices declined; however, the Fund benefited from several energy-related investments during the first half. Looking ahead, Moerus views the extreme gap between expensive AI-focused areas and neglected parts of the market as an opportunity, maintaining its long-term deep-value approach of investing in unpopular businesses and ******* ets at significant discounts to intrinsic value and using market volatility to identify potentially attractive investments. In addition, please check the Fund's top five holdings to know its best picks in 2026.

SoFi Technologies (SOFI) continues to post robust quarterly results, yet its share price remains down 43.5% from its 52-week peak, trailing the broader market.
SoFi's underperformance stems largely from the market's anxiety over the company's evolving revenue mix. In recent quarters, the company has become more reliant on its lending business, which requires substantial capital and exposes the company to greater credit risk. That concern intensified in the second quarter as lending once again expanded faster than SoFi's non-lending businesses, putting additional pressure on the stock.

Texas Instruments and Martin Marietta might be getting a nice temporary **** p in profits and revenues from helping build out AI infrastructure, but AI and data center-related revenues are by no means the majority of revenues for either of these two companies."
Martin Marietta Materials, Inc. (NYSE:MLM) is not on our list of the 40 Most Popular Stocks Among Hedge Funds. As per our database, 67 hedge fund portfolios held Martin Marietta Materials, Inc. Sands Capital, an investment management company, released its "Sands Capital Select Growth Fund" Q2 2026 investor letter. The letter can be downloaded here. Select Growth Fund targets U.S. businesses driving significant structural change through disruptive innovation. The fund returned 23.2% in the quarter, outperforming the Russell 1000 Growth Index's 16.7%. U.S. large-cap growth equities rebounded sharply, driven by improving corporate fundamentals and renewed investor confidence in AI, despite geopolitical uncertainties. However, the market's gains were narrow, concentrated among AI beneficiaries. The portfolio's success stemmed from strength in AI infrastructure holdings, especially memory and storage, supported by better pricing and tightening supply. As AI development advances, continuous demand for compute capacity is expected, prompting investments in memory, CPUs, AI chips, and semiconductor manufacturing to address emerging bottlenecks essential for scaling AI. Also, check the fund's top five holdings to see its best picks in 2026.
In its second-quarter 2026 investor letter, Sands Capital Select Growth Fund highlighted Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. (NYSE:ICE), a US-based financial services company that provides technology, data, and market infrastructure to financial institutions, corporations, and government entities. On September 1, 2026, Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. (NYSE:ICE) closed at $159.60 per share. Over the past month, Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. (NYSE:ICE) returned 4.85%, while its shares have declined 10.30% in the last 52 weeks. Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. (NYSE:ICE) has a market capitalization of $89.6 billion, and its stock has traded within a 52-week range of $121.79 to $177.00.
Sands Capital Select Growth Fund stated the following regarding Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. (NYSE:ICE) in its Q2 2026 investor letter:
"Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. (NYSE:ICE) is one of the world's largest operators of financial exchanges and clearinghouses. Shares declined as investor concerns around AI disruption in ICE's Mortgage business and potential competition from perpetual futures contracts weighed on the stock. Much of the underperformance appears to reflect multiple compression rather than a weakening of fundamentals, which remain solid. In our view, the market is overestimating the risk that AI will displace ICE Mortgage. The business is not simply a workflow solution; it is a platform that connects lenders, data vendors, and other participants required to originate, sell, and service mortgages, while also serving as a system of record for a significant portion of the U.S. mortgage ecosystem. We also believe concerns around perpetual futures competition are overstated, as the structure of these products may limit their use in institutional hedging and risk management, particularly before accounting for liquidity. As such, we believe the recent sell-off more than discounts these risks."

Brennan ******* et Management recently released its Q2 2026 investor letter. The letter can be downloaded here. Investors were optimistic about a potential truce with Iran, highlighted by a mid-June memorandum for negotiations on regional security and sanctions, causing oil prices to drop and the market to rally. Despite geopolitical uncertainties, investors remain focused on a surge in AI infrastructure spending, which is expected to heavily influence the global economy, although questions about the returns from this investment loom. Overall, the S&P 500 remains at high valuations, seemingly unfazed by these challenges, while there are few pockets of value left, mostly outside the U.S. market. Also, check the fund's top five holdings to see its best picks in 2026.
In its second-quarter 2026 investor letter, Brennan ******* et Management highlighted Liberty Capital Corporation (NASDAQ:GLIBK). Liberty Capital Corporation (NASDAQ:GLIBK) is a communication services company that provides a range of data, wireless, video, voice, and managed services. GCI Liberty, Inc. rebranded to Liberty Capital Corporation in May 2026. On August 31, 2026, Liberty Capital Corporation (NASDAQ:GLIBK) closed at $26.03 per share. Over the past month, Liberty Capital Corporation (NASDAQ:GLIBK) returned 8.78%, but its shares are down 28.94% over the past year. Liberty Capital Corporation (NASDAQ:GLIBK) has a market capitalization of $1.04 billion, and its stock has traded within a 52-week range of $19.30 to $41.18.
Brennan ******* et Management stated the following regarding Liberty Capital Corporation (NASDAQ:GLIBK) in its Q2 2026 investor letter:
Liberty Capital Corporation (NASDAQ:GLIBK): "Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in!": In our Q4 2024 letter, we described our unfavorable investment history with Liberty Latin America (LILAK) and explained our reasons for substantially exiting the position and reinvesting the proceeds in TIGO. In the letter, we blamed ourselves for giving LILAK's management team too much slack even though operating performance continued to contradict their rosy projections. Selling shares in a longer-term holding that has not worked is no fun, but it is part of the investment process.
In our Q3 2025 letter, we detailed our investment in GCI Liberty (later renamed Liberty Capital) and described how we felt that the company traded substantially below the value of the Alaska Cable business, which implied that investors were seemingly ascribing negative value to the prospects of deals from John Malone and company. We noted how investors would have flocked to this type of investment 10 years ago, but the underperformance of US cable and several other Liberty names had caused a severe inversion to anything cable related..." Andvari ***** ociates, an investment management firm, released its first-quarter 2025 investor letter. The letter can be downloaded here. Andvari's portfolio has performed strongly in the quarter, highlighted by Constellation Software's 19.9% revenue growth and its plans to spend on acquisitions in 2026. The company is also focusing on AI tools to enhance productivity and customer relationships. However, the AI sector is experiencing extreme hype, leading to a growing disconnect between valuations and future cash flows. Predictions suggest the AI investment phase may decline in 1-3 years, despite current high demand for AI infrastructure, which is expected to attract significant competition. Concerns about overbuilding and risky financial behaviors, like Oracle's downgraded credit rating amid a $90-$95 billion AI cloud investment, reflect potential pitfalls. Andvari has minimized exposure to this sector, aiming to protect and grow ***** ets through disciplined investments in stable industries despite recent underperformance during the AI boom. Andvari ***** ociates stated the following regarding Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE:TYL) in its Q2 2026 investor letter:
"Tyler Technologies, Inc. Since its 2023 investor day, Tyler has met or exceeded its 2025 interim targets, shifted more than 95% of new-client total contract value to SaaS ("software as a service"), completed the migration of its roughly 5,000 hosted customers onto AWS, and exited its last private data center on schedule. All this gives management more confidence in both future growth and margins. Tyler's remaining on-premise maintenance base still represents a large conversion pool, and each maintenance-to-SaaS "Lip" is expected to lift recurring revenue by roughly 1.7x before any cross-sell, payments attach, or module expansion. Just as important, Tyler's next phase—"Cloud Living"—should reduce version complexity, lower support burden, speed upgrades, and create a more scalable operating model…" (Click here to read the full text)

MD Sass, a boutique ******* et management firm, published its second-quarter investor update for its flagship, the "MD Sass Concentrated Value Strategy." The letter can be downloaded here. In the first half of 2026, AI infrastructure stocks led the market, with the Russell 1000 Value increasing by 16.3%, outpacing the S&P 500 (10.2%) and Russell 1000 Growth (5.3%). This growth was fueled by semiconductor, memory, and hardware companies benefiting from AI development, even though they are considered cyclical. These sectors, representing only 7.7% of the Russell 1000 Value at the start of the year, contributed nearly 70% of its returns. The portfolio gained 10.0% in the second quarter, net of fees, compared to 13.9% for the Russell 1000 Value Index. Year-to-date, the strategy returned 6.6%, net of fees, versus 16.3% for the Index. The portfolio faced challenges due to limited exposure to companies with the greatest upside from AI infrastructure investments. It also lacked exposure to the Energy sector, which returned about 20% in the first half amid geopolitical tensions with Iran that increased commodity prices, affecting performance. The firm recognizes the importance of adapting its strategies while maintaining core investment principles as it explores future opportunities in emerging technological themes. Also, check the fund's top five holdings to see its best picks in 2026.

Andvari ******* ociates stated the following regarding NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA) in its Q2 2026 investor letter:
"Another reason why I am increasingly cautious here is I've begun to see more examples of circular financing among the companies involved with the AI investment boom. For example, when NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA) invested in OpenAI in late 2025, it was reported most of the money would be used to lease Nvidia chips. Also, some companies like Nvidia and Anthropic have invested directly into special purpose vehicles (SPVs), which in turn use that money to buy hardware from those exact same hardware makers. Then there are AI companies like Anthropic who have begun to use massive SPVs, backed by private equity firms, to borrow billions to buy chips and servers. The AI company then leases the chips from the SPV and thus the debt can stay on its own balance sheet. I've also read that some Nvidia customers are using Nvidia chips as collateral for loans to buy even more chips. This is the same type of behavior that eventually got many telecom and tech companies into huge trouble during the dot com bubble of the 1990s."

Roblox is down 49% year to date and slipping another 3% as Cathie Wood's ARK keeps trimming, while Take-Two barely moves ahead of GTA VI.
ARK sold $6.5M of Roblox while buying $7.6M of nuclear supplier BWXT, rotating capital from consumer platforms into AI-adjacent power infrastructure.
Roblox's 43% revenue growth and 66% free cash flow surge contrast sharply with its $1B net loss, keeping the stock's valuation under persistent pressure.
Act now: the ***** yst who called NVIDIA in 2010 just named his top 10 AI stocks — and Roblox didn't make the cut. Grab the names FREE today.
Roblox stock is falling harder than its sector fund and its top gaming peer this Tuesday morning, on a session with no company news to explain the underperformance. The identifiable pressure comes from continued selling by Cathie Wood's ARK Invest, without any overnight announcement from Roblox (NYSE:RBLX) itself. The rotation detail is the story: ARK sold Roblox on the same day it bought a nuclear supplier.

Brennan **** et Management recently released its Q2 2026 investor letter.
In its second-quarter 2026 investor letter, Brennan **** et Management highlighted Liberty Capital Corporation (NASDAQ:GLIBK).
Brennan **** et Management stated the following regarding Liberty Capital Corporation (NASDAQ:GLIBK) in its Q2 2026 investor letter:
We noted how investors would have flocked to this type of investment 10 years ago, but the underperformance of US cable and several other Liberty names had caused a severe inversion to anything cable related..." Our ***** ysts just identified a stock with the potential to be the next Nvidia. Tell us how you invest and we'll show you why it's our #1 pick. Tap here.
Second quarter performance fell short of projections due to a strategic push into product innovation that moved too far away from the brand's core customization experience.
Management attributed the DTC revenue decline to the underperformance of the summer trend collection, specifically less-customizable concepts like Slushie Plushies that failed to resonate with guests.
Persistent macroeconomic challenges and soft web traffic contributed to a decline in transactions, though average units per transaction increased.
The company identified a clear guest preference for 'Make-Your-Own' signature experiences, evidenced by the sell-out of the dressable Chummy Shark and growth in the Promise Pets platform.

While NXP Semiconductors (NXPI) may be a strong business overall, its recent severe underperformance has left many questions regarding forward viability. Over the trailing month, NXPI stock has lost roughly 19%, thus leading to a very modest year-to-date performance of just under 4%. Fundamentally, the chipmaker — which is heavily exposed to the Chinese auto market — may be facing broader economic challenges. Still, the weakness could offer a contrarian opportunity for bold speculators.
On paper, circumstances would seem optimistic. In the company's second-quarter earnings report, it exceeded headline metrics. According to Google Finance's summary sheet, NXP reported record non-GAAP earnings of $3.61 per share and revenue of approximately $3.50 billion, thus resulting in 19.5% growth year-over-year. Contributing to the strong print were accelerating adoption of software-defined vehicles and expanding physical AI infrastructure applications.
