Grail (NASDAQ: GRAL), which was spun off from Illumina (NASDAQ: ILMN) in 2024, reached a record high of $116.06 on Jan. 22. But today, the cancer test developer's stock trades at just under $70. Is it a buy, sell, or hold at these levels?
Missed Nvidia in 2009? This Rare Signal Is Flashing Again. In 2009, a "Double Down" signal flashed for a little-known chipmaker called Nvidia. For the first time in years, that same "Total Conviction" signal is flashing for a company 1/100th the size of Nvidia. Continue »
Grail's Galleri blood test aims to detect signals from dozens of cancers before any symptoms appear. That seems like a game changer for the oncology market, but its stock plunged in February after its largest NHS England trial failed to meet its primary endpoint. That trial was considered a crucial stepping stone toward an FDA approval in the U.S. -- which would clear the way for private insurance and Medicare plans to cover its tests.
However, Grail already sells Galleri on a cash-only basis (for $749 to $949) to independent customers, select employers, hospital pilots, and telehealth programs. Its NHS England trial also wasn't a complete failure: Galleri's users in the trial still had fewer Stage IV cancers detected, and it achieved earlier (Stage I and II) detection of the deadliest cancers.
Even without a near-term FDA approval, ******* ysts expect Grail's revenue to grow from $147 million in 2025 to $281 million in 2028. It won't generate a profit anytime soon, and its stock isn't cheap at 17 times this year's sales, but an FDA approval could help it crush those estimates. Therefore, I think it's smarter to buy and hold Grail at under $70 than to hastily sell it.

Fed Chairman Kevin Warsh left interest rates unchanged on Wednesday. Bond investors tightened the screws anyway.
The 30-year Treasury yield climbed another 6 basis points Friday to 5.27%, its highest since 2007. Two days earlier, Warsh had sounded almost pleased that markets were doing some of the work.
"At some level, we haven't done much in 42 days," he said on Wednesday. "The markets have done quite a bit."
Warsh is betting markets can do part of the Fed's job. The central bank controls the overnight interest rate — the shortest end of the yield curve. Investors set longer-term Treasury yields, which help determine the rates households pay for mortgages and companies pay to borrow.
The Fed has held its overnight rate target at 3.5% to 3.75% throughout 2026. But since Warsh's first meeting in June, the 30-year yield has risen about 34 basis points — or 0.34 percentage points. The 10-year has gained about 24 basis points, while the 2-year is up about 10.

We asked for your views after Hearts conceded two late goals to lose their Premiership opener 2-1 at Aberdeen.
Here are some of your comments:
Fraser: This is going to be one long, long season…
Jim: We have to be patient, it takes a little time to get a winning team together and after the upheaval at Tynecastle this past couple of months I am not surprised. I believe we still have basis of a championship challenging team but the ease with which we lost goals in quick succession against Sturm Graz and now Aberdeen is a concern. I also think it is time Landry Kabore stepped aside and James Wilson was given his chance alongside Claudio Braga up front.
Campbell: Hearts are rebuilding after the shock of losing the ****** le last season. So many new faces to bed in. No proper pre-season and straight into the Champions League. Can't expect too much this season I'm afraid.

The Houston Texans could be without linebacker Jake Hansen for a bit of time.
Hansen, who is currently fighting for a roster spot during the early stages of training camp, suffered a lower-body injury during team drills on Thursday. He was lifted into the back of the cart and carried off for further evaluation.
Texans coach DeMeco Ryans said on Saturday that Hansen would be monitored on a week-to-week basis for an ankle injury.
"We'll see," Ryans said if there was any major concern for Hansen's status going into 2026. "He's kind of week-to-week. We'll see how he progresses throughout camp."
An undrafted free agent out of Illinois, Hansen has been part of the Texans for the last four years after reuniting with former Illinois coach Lovie Smith. Mostly an impact on special teams, Hansen has been a reliable depth piece at linebacker, totaling over 80 career tackles. Last season, he recorded 19 tackles.

Federico Chiesa's Liverpool future is back under the spotlight, with Foot Mercato reporting fresh interest from Atletico Madrid. For a player who has lived on the fringes at Anfield, the latest developments feel significant, particularly at a time when Liverpool are recalibrating under Andoni Iraola.
The numbers from Chiesa's 2025/26 Premier League campaign offer a compelling counterpoint to his bit-part status. In around 318 league minutes, the Italy international produced two goals and one **** ist. On a per 90 basis, those figures point to sharp attacking efficiency, while his non-penalty expected goals return suggests a player still capable of generating high-value moments in the final third.
That is why this situation carries intrigue. The issue around Chiesa has rarely been productivity, it has been availability in the starting picture. He made only one league start last season and, across two years on Merseyside, managed 36 appearances in all competitions with only five starts. Those totals explain why external interest has emerged, even if the player's own stance has remained relatively clear.
According to the report, Atletico Madrid have made an attempt for Chiesa and continue to monitor him closely. Diego Simeone is said to appreciate the profile, which is understandable given Chiesa's direct running, intensity and ability to attack **** e from wide positions. Any firm progression from the Spanish side appears linked to the outcome of the Julian Alvarez situation, which remains central to their summer planning.

President Donald Trump is appealing a federal judge's decision to continue investigating whether his lawsuit against the IRS was part of a greater scheme to mislead the court.
Trump filed his notice to appeal the ruling by U.S. District Judge Kathleen Williams, who ruled earlier this month that her court had the authority to continue probing a $10 billion lawsuit Trump, his family and businesses filed against the IRS for failing to safeguard his tax return information from leaks.
The parties announced a controversial out-of-court agreement in May in which the Justice Department — representing the IRS — would create a nearly $1.8 billion "anti-weaponization fund" to pay out purported victims of political retribution and the IRS would spare Trump and his businesses from ongoing audits.
In a blistering order July 13, Williams accused Trump of filing the lawsuit to "gain the imprimatur of judicial legitimacy for a 'settlement' that had no viable basis in law or fact." She also said exempting Trump from audits would violate a federal law that prohibits the White House from directing IRS investigations.
Williams also noted that the case itself defied legal procedure because Trump sued an administration he runs, essentially putting him in the position of both plaintiff and defendant.

The Los Angeles Dodgers lost 9-4 to the Boston Red Sox, dropping the first game of the series to a red-hot squad.
The Dodgers were always underdogs on Friday night since it was a bullpen game, given how LA protects its arms.
Luckily, the bullpen was not too taxed thanks to Cole Irvin, a minor league arm who saved the Dodgers six innings of pitching and 100 pitches.
He looked dominant through his first time around the order, getting soft contact and outs on a regular basis.

Management identified a 'K-shaped' market dynamic where premium fiberglass and core product lines remained flat and resilient, while value-oriented models faced significant pressure from inflation and affordability concerns.
Performance was bolstered by the purposeful rationalization of value models initiated last year, which sacrificed some revenue to gain approximately 100 basis points of margin in the Boat segment.
Propulsion growth was driven by steady OEM demand and significant international share gains, specifically noting a 600 basis point increase in Brazil share since 2019.
Boating participation remains a primary driver of recurring revenue, with Freedom Boat Club member trips increasing by a record 13% in the first half of the year despite higher fuel prices.

Second quarter RevPAR growth of 5.6% was driven entirely by average daily rate (ADR) as occupancy remained flat year-over-year.
Management attributed the modest 3.3% Total RevPAR growth to a shift in business mix, where transient demand filled gaps left by large FIFA World Cup room block releases, resulting in lower out-of-room spend.
The portfolio saw broad-based strength across markets, with Philadelphia and Salt Lake City leading growth, while the Grand Hyatt Scottsdale continues to track favorably toward stabilization.
Margin compression of 65 basis points was primarily caused by the lapping of a $1.5 million real estate tax refund from 2025 and startup costs for new food and beverage outlets at W Nashville.

IRC Section 1014 resets an inherited portfolio's cost basis to date-of-death value, legally erasing a lifetime of capital gains before heirs sell.
The step-up covers only taxable accounts such as stocks, ETFs, and real estate, while inherited IRAs and 401(k)s face ordinary income tax on every withdrawal.
Portfolios that declined before death step the basis down, permanently wiping built-in losses heirs could have captured through pre-death selling.
Are you ahead, or behind on retirement? SmartAsset's free tool can match you with a financial advisor in minutes to help you answer that today. Each advisor has been carefully vetted, and must act in your best interests. Don't waste another minute; learn more here.
If you've ever inherited a taxable brokerage account, mutual funds, or individual stocks from a parent, there is a rule sitting inside the tax code that can erase decades of capital gains overnight. It's called the step-up in basis, and it's the reason a daughter can inherit an $800,000 portfolio her mother built from a $50,000 seed in the 1980s, sell every share the next month, and owe the IRS nothing on the gain.

Less-than-truckload carrier Saia's shares were off 12% in midday trading on Thursday following a better-than-expected second-quarter report that was muted by management's softer third-quarter margin outlook. The company has made real estate investments totaling over $1 billion in recent years, and its new locations are still working to close the profitability gap to the rest of the network.
Saia (NASDAQ: SAIA) reeled in its full-year margin outlook on a Thursday call with ***** ysts. It now expects to hit the lower end of a guidance range calling for 100 to 200 basis points of year-over-year improvement.
"Our strong second quarter results highlight the continued enhancement of our expanded service offering, disciplined execution and the commitment of our team members," said Saia CEO Fritz Holzgrefe. "We achieved record revenue and tonnage, along with a second-quarter record in shipments, reflecting solid growth across our network."
The Johns Creek, Georgia-based company reported second-quarter earnings per share of $3.51 on Thursday before the market opened. The result was 84 cents higher y/y and 12 cents better than the consensus estimate. A lower tax rate compared to the prior-year quarter was a 2-cent tailwind. A $3 million decline in net interest expense was an 8-cent tailwind.
Revenue was 17% higher y/y at 957 million, largely in line with consensus. Both tonnage and yield increased by 8% y/y. (Yield was down 2% excluding fuel surcharges.)

The company's guidance method excluded a product it had only just launched, and management said so two months before the run began.
Snowflake (SNOW) stock has gained about 98% over the past three months, from $142.56 to $282.90, while the S&P 500 returned 2.5%. Its largest cloud peers went the other way over the same window: MSFT and AMZN fell 8.8% and 12.7%, and GOOGL slipped 3.7%. Start with what the run was actually about.
The Outlook Went From 27% To 31% In One Report
At the fiscal Q1 2027 report in late May, inside the run, product revenue came in at $1.334 billion, with growth accelerating to 34% year over year, from 30% in fiscal Q4 2026 and 26% a year earlier. Net revenue retention rose to 126%, and non-GAAP operating margin expanded more than 300 basis points year over year to 12%. The bigger item was the outlook: management lifted the fiscal 2027 product revenue guide to $5.84 billion, from 27% to 31% growth, and the full-year non-GAAP operating margin guide from 12.5% to 13.5%. By the company's own explanation, the largest single driver of that raise was Cortex Code, its coding agent.

Mortgage rates rose to their highest level in a year amid the re-escalating conflict with Iran and investors grew more worried about the Federal Reserve's plans to tame inflation.
The average 30-year mortgage rate rose 8 basis points to 6.66% this week through Wednesday, according to Freddie Mac data, hitting its highest level since the end of July 2025.
Rates are likely to go higher from here. Government bond yields, which mortgage rates closely track, surged on Wednesday after the Federal Reserve opted to hold short-term interest rates steady, with three voting members supporting a hike.
Bond investors, worried about the Fed's commitment to taming inflation, sold off long-term Treasuries, sending the 30-year Treasury yield to its highest level in nearly two decades. The 10-year Treasury yield, which has the closest relationship with mortgage rates, jumped more than 4 basis points on Thursday to 4.67%.

The Federal Reserve held interest rates steady in a range of 3.50%-3.75% for the fifth meeting in a row on Wednesday, in one of the closest decisions to call in years.
Inflationary pressures arising from the war in Iran and AI bottlenecks have divided Fed officials in recent months. Three Fed officials dissented on the decision, preferring to raise rates by 25 basis points.
"I asked for a good family fight, and I got one," Fed Chairman Kevin Warsh said at a press conference.
Here are a few more takeaways from the meeting and post-decision press conference:
Fed policy statement doesn't change: The Fed reaffirmed its statement from the previous meeting, highlighting how the central bank intends to be more "parsimonious with what information they provide," according to Moody's chief economist Mark Zandi.

Honeywell Technologies (NASDAQ:HON) used to be one giant company that made everything from thermostats to jet engines. Not anymore. Over the past year, it split into three separate public companies: Solstice Advanced Materials, spun off last October; Honeywell Aerospace, spun off just last month; and Honeywell Technologies, the automation business that's left, which is what CEO Vimal Kapur now runs. This week's earnings report was the first one for Honeywell Technologies as its own standalone firm, and the stock jumped more than 5% on the news.
Since the aerospace spinoff only finished right at the end of the quarter, this report still includes some of Honeywell Aerospace's results mixed in, which makes straight comparisons tricky. Total revenue, including that leftover aerospace piece, came in at $9.72 billion, up 4% from a year ago and beating the roughly $9.5 billion **** ysts expected. Strip aerospace back out, and revenue for just the automation business was $5.19 billion, up 3%, beating the $5.02 billion Wall Street had modeled specifically for the smaller, standalone company.
On profit, adjusted earnings per share, including the leftover aerospace results came in at $4.52, actually down 4% from $4.72 a year earlier. On a standalone basis without aerospace, adjusted earnings were $1.95 a share, up 10% from $1.77 a year ago and beating the $1.82 **** ysts expected for the new, smaller Honeywell Technologies. There was also a one-time boost: net profit under standard accounting rules hit $5.68 billion, largely because of a $6.63 billion one-time accounting gain tied to deconsolidating Quantinuum, Honeywell's quantum computing venture, a separate transaction from the aerospace spin-off, not from the actual operating business doing better.
That raises a real question. Is this a genuinely strong first quarter as a standalone firm, or does the messy, one-time nature of a spinoff quarter make it hard to tell what Honeywell Technologies (NASDAQ:HON) actually looks like going forward?
All three of Honeywell's remaining automation segments grew organically, and orders for the standalone business overall grew 16%, with backlog reaching about $20 billion. Building Automation was the standout, with organic sales up 9% and orders up 13%, driven by strong demand from data centers and hotels. Industrial Automation grew sales 4% organically on strong demand for sensing and measurement equipment. Process Automation, the one segment with sales down slightly this quarter, actually saw orders surge 24%, with Middle East orders alone up more than 50% on refurbishment projects, and management expects a "sharp inflection" in that segment's growth starting in the third quarter. Kapur said the results reflect a "year-plus long process to simplify our business," and that the benefits are already showing up.

What happened: Long-dated Treasury bond yields stayed elevated on Thursday as investors digested the Fed's decision to hold rates steady, while Wall Street pointed to signs of credibility trouble at the central bank.

US economic growth slowed in the second quarter, underperforming economists' expectations and adding another wrinkle to the Federal Reserve's path forward, even as consumer spending remained strong.
GDP rose at an annual rate of 1.5%, the Commerce Department said Thursday, below economists' estimates of 2% annual growth. The second quarter figures also showed a marked slowdown from the first quarter, when GDP grew 2.1% year over year.
The GDP price index — which measures prices across the entire basket of US goods and services — rose 6.2% year over year, far overshooting estimates of 4% growth and the previous quarter's 3.6% increase.
On a "core" basis, which excludes volatile food and energy costs, the GDP price index rose by a more restrained 3.4% year over year, against estimates of 3.5% and the previous month's markedly hotter 4.4% increase.
The data presents a complicated picture for the Federal Reserve, which on Wednesday voted to hold rates steady. If prices keep inching up while growth slows, worries may spread about the potential for "stagflation," which is when growth stagnates but prices go up anyway. The question for the Fed is how long energy price pressure driven by the war in Iran will continue to keep inflation elevated and hamper the economy.

Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings reported second-quarter net income of $222.6 million, or $0.48 per share, up from $30 million, or $0.07 per share, a year earlier. Adjusted earnings per share also came in at $0.48, ahead of the company's own guidance of $0.38 and above the $0.39 ***** yst consensus, according to MarketWatch.
Total revenue for the quarter rose 4.9% to $2.64 billion. Adjusted EBITDA declined 4.1% to $666 million from $694 million a year earlier, still beating guidance of $632 million.
Despite the better-than-expected quarter, Norwegian trimmed its full-year adjusted EPS forecast to approximately $1.50. The company had previously guided to a range of $1.45 to $1.79 per share, according to MarketWatch. Full-year adjusted EBITDA is now expected to be approximately $2.5 billion, and full-year net yield on a constant currency basis is expected to be down approximately 5% versus 2025.
The company said it has not yet reached its optimal booked position for the coming year, pointing to demand headwinds at its Norwegian Cruise Line brand stemming from operational missteps and instability in the Middle East. Fuel costs have also added to the pressure, with the per-metric-ton price jumping to $888 compared with $659 a year ago. For the third quarter, the company projects adjusted EPS of $0.90 and a net yield decline of 8.9% on a constant currency basis.
"While we are confident in the strength of our brands and the long-term benefits of the actions underway, we are still in the early stages of our turnaround," said John W. Chidsey, chairperson and chief executive officer of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, in a statement.

Training camp can be fickle. Earlier this week, the Green Bay Packers signed kicker Lenny Krieg. Just yesterday, receiver Brendan Rice missed his first practice with a hamstring injury. On Friday, both of those players were released to make room for the additions of receiver Kaden Prather and long snapper Cal Adomitis.
The old adage is that you can't make the club in the tub, and that's truer the further you go down the depth chart. This is your reminder of how thin the margins are for the bottom 20-ish players on the Packers' 91-man offseason roster to keep their jobs on a day-to-day basis.
Beyond the transactions, here's what you missed on Friday if you weren't able to attend today's training camp practice.
TUCKER KRAFT IS BACK. The tight end isn't participating in team drills just yet, but he is off the physically unable to perform list and did do individual drills on Friday. For those keeping track at home, he did return to practice earlier than receiver Christian Watson did off his ACL tear. If edge rusher Micah Parsons follows the same timeline as Kraft, his return to practice would be somewhere in mid-September (which is now allowed for players on the PUP list due to an offseason rule change).
Linebacker Edgerrin Cooper's injury on Thursday was not serious and be practiced on Friday.
