The Minnesota Vikings' unbeaten start has drawn attention to quarterback Kyler Murray, whom an NFL ******* yst identified as the team's most notable offseason addition. Murray's arrival has given Minnesota a new option under center as the club continues its strong run through the 2026 season.
Murray joined the Vikings after the team moved on from its previous quarterback plans, bringing his experience and mobility to the offense. His ability to make plays with both his arm and legs has added another dimension to Minnesota's attack. The move also placed him in a system designed to use his athleticism while maintaining a balanced offensive approach.

The quarterback's mobility has been a key part of his early impact. Murray can extend plays when protection breaks down and create opportunities outside the pocket, forcing defenses to account for his movement. His scrambling ability can also open passing lanes and provide an additional threat on designed runs, making it more difficult for opponents to anticipate the offense's next move.
Minnesota's early results have strengthened the attention surrounding Murray's role. The Vikings have maintained an unbeaten record, with their defense contributing to the team's success while the offense works to establish consistency. Murray's presence has given the unit flexibility, particularly when plays develop differently than planned or when the defense applies pressure.

ESPN identified DJ Moore as the Buffalo Bills' most significant offseason addition after Week 7, highlighting the wide receiver's expected impact on the team's passing game. Although Buffalo was on its bye, Moore's role remained central to the discussion of the club's offensive outlook.
Moore joined Buffalo after being acquired from the Chicago Bears in exchange for a 2026 second-round draft pick. The veteran receiver has been sidelined while recovering from a shoulder injury, but his anticipated return could add another dimension to an offense that has continued to produce without him. The team's bye week also provided additional time for his recovery. The Bills entered its bye at 5-1 and ranked second, one spot higher than the previous week in ESPN's poll.

His value is tied to his ability to stretch the field and create opportunities beyond the catch. Moore's routes can force opposing defenses to cover more ground, opening ******* e underneath and making it more difficult to crowd the line of scrimmage. That added room could benefit the running game as well as the passing attack.
Through the first portion of the season, Moore averaged 2.47 yards per route run while recording an average depth of target of 15.9 yards. Those figures led the league, underscoring his ability to generate downfield production. His presence gives the offense a receiver capable of drawing coverage away from other targets and creating explosive-play opportunities.

Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs has addressed speculation surrounding his first of two touchdown celebrations during Thursday Night Football against the Carolina Panthers, firmly denying any connection to his arrest earlier this year.
During the celebration, Jacobs was seen standing in the end zone with his hands behind his back. Many viewers quickly interpreted this gesture as a reference to his arrest after he was charged with misdemeanor battery and destruction of property following an alleged incident involving a woman at his Green Bay home.
In September, Jacobs pleaded no contest to the charges. He was convicted of battery and received a deferred judgment agreement for the destruction of property charge. As a result, he spent the first six games of the season on the commissioner's exempt list and could face further NFL discipline.
After the game, Jacobs addressed the celebration, clarifying that it was inspired by the gospel song "Break Every Chain." He expressed his frustration that people were attempting to **** ociate the gesture with his legal troubles.
"They didn't even get the whole celebration," Jacobs told ESPN. "It was (expletive) one second that they just showed me."

Bryce Young and the Carolina Panthers had a rough night in ****** letown.
They have now lost two games in a row, as they followed up their Week 7 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at home with a 27-19 defeat at the hands of Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers in Week 8's edition of Thursday Night Football at Lambeau Field in Green Bay.
Young struggled in the pocket, largely because of the relentless pressure from the home team's pass rush unit. The former Alabama Crimson Tide star signal-caller was sacked for a total of six times for a loss of 33 yards. Young finished with just 209 passing yards and a touchdown against an interception on 23/41 pass completions.
The ugly loss to Green Bay left Young with a clear message about how Green Bay dominated his team.
"They executed better," Young said after the game, via Mike Kaye of ESPN. "A lot of stuff was on film, but they just do a really good job of disguising. They're a really good defense. So, we have a lot of respect for them. They were better than us today, for sure. They deserve that win. We should have been better. We've just got to execute better — that's all it is."

The Green Bay Packers returned to winning ways following a 27-19 result over the Carolina Panthers in Week 8. It marked Josh Jacobs' second game back after the three-time Pro Bowler spent the first six weeks of the season on the NFL's exempt list stemming from an offseason incident with a former partner.
Jacobs saw a sizeable increase in workload and was fairly productive in the home win, rushing for 39 yards on 21 carries while logging 13 receiving yards on six catches for two touchdowns.

Josh Jacobs scored a one-yard touchdown to help the Green Bay Packers reclaim the advantage midway through the second quarter. However, the Alabama product drew backlash for his TD celebration because it looked like he was mocking his arrest last May. In his postgame interview, Jacobs explained the full context behind the action.
"They didn't even get the whole celebration," Jacobs told ESPN's Rob Demovsky. "But anyways, me and Savion came up with the celebration, if they would have seen the whole celebration. Basically, last week, we said the first celebration: when I score, I was gonna thank God; that's what I did last week. The second was going to be 'Break Every Chain.' It's a gospel song. That was gonna be the next celebration. It's a correlation. The media is gonna run with it. They're gonna make it something that it wasn't. But it is what it is."

Oct. 30 (UPI) -- Jordan Love threw three touchdown passes while the Green Bay Packers defense harassed opposing quarterback Bryce Young to beat the Carolina Panthers in primetime.
The Packers quarterback completed 30 of 41 passes for 288 yards in the 27-19 victory Thursday in Green Bay, Wis. Running back Josh Jacobs totaled 42 yards from scrimmage and two scores in the win.
"We talk about how tough these short weeks are," Love told reporters. "We've had two throughout the season so far. The way we came out and just executed today from the get-go was so much better than the last time we played a Thursday night game. That's what it's gotta be about."
The Packers, who overcame two deficits, out-gained their visitors 354-258 in total yards and held a 21-14 advantage in first downs. They scored 21 consecutive points from the start of the second quarter into the third quarter to take control of the Monday Night Football clash.

Packers' Xavier McKinney reveals NFL fined him for ripping refs after loss to Lions appeared first on ClutchPoints. Add ClutchPoints as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The Green Bay Packers returned to the win column after outlasting the Carolina Panthers, 27-19, at Lambeau Field on Thursday. The Packers improved to 5-3, while the Panthers dropped to 3-4.
Green Bay bounced back after falling short against the Detroit Lions, 20-17, at Ford Field in Week 7. After the loss, Xavier McKinney did not hold back on the referees, blasting them for what he deemed were questionable calls, including a critical penalty in the fourth quarter.
"I don't know how the NFL's going to treat it, but I'm not a big fan of the refs right now. I don't think it's great officiating, if I'm being completely honest. I think it's b******* a lot of the time," said McKinney.

Packers' Josh Jacobs explains what misinterpreted TD celebrations actually meant appeared first on ClutchPoints. Add ClutchPoints as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The Green Bay Packers failed to run the ball efficiently yet again despite leaving Lambeau Field with a 27-19 victory over the Carolina Panthers, but Josh Jacobs still drew plenty of attention all the same. After scoring a go-ahead one-yard rushing touchdown in the second quarter, he put his hands behind his back as if he was wearing handcuffs.
The 2022 First-Team All-Pro was arrested in May regarding a domestic dispute with his then-girlfriend and pleaded no contest to misdemeanor charges of battery and criminal damage to property. The optics of such a TD celebration are obviously awful, but Jacobs claims his actions were misconstrued.
"Me and {wide receiver Savion Williams} came up with a celebration. They haven't seen the whole celebration," the former rushing yards leader and three-time Pro Bowl selection told reporters after the game, per Matt Schneidman of The Athletic. "Basically, last week, we said the first celebration when I score, I was going to thank God. That's what I did. The second was going to be break every chain, it's a gospel song. That was going to be the next celebration (he was immediately swarmed by his teammates). It's just a correlation.

Green Bay Packers TE Tucker Kraft had six catches, 53 yards, and a touchdown against the Carolina Panthers in Week 8.
SOURCE: USA TODAY
Why It Matters: It has taken some time for Kraft to resemble the breakout star he was becoming before tearing his ACL almost a year ago to the day. He seems to be rounding into form, however, catching 10 passes for 101 yards and a pair of touchdowns over the past five days. Kraft has simply looked stronger, and there have been no signs of the dropped passes that dogged him earlier this season. While he hasn't entered that top echelon of fantasy tight ends with the likes of Brock Bowers and Trey McBride, Kraft has solidified his spot as a top-10 option at the position.

Green Bay Packers WR Christian Watson (chest) had eight receptions (on 10 targets) for 113 yards against the Carolina Panthers in Week 8.
SOURCE: USA TODAY
Why It Matters: In something straight out of a WWE show, Watson left Lambeau Field in an ambulance on Thursday night to get examined for a chest injury. He was cleared to return, however, and ended up being drive back from the hospital to make what was essentially a game-sealing catch on Green Bay's final drive of the night. Despite missing a significant chunk of the game, Watson still led all players in receptions (8) and receiving yards (113), though he did finish without a touchdown for a third straight game. Despite the scoring drought, Watson has earned a spot as a low-end WR1.

Panthers most to blame for Thursday Night Football loss to Packers appeared first on ClutchPoints. Add ClutchPoints as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The Carolina Panthers had enough opportunities to make Thursday night interesting. Too bad they spent too much of the game making life difficult for themselves. Their defense generated some timely stops, and Chuba Hubbard delivered a productive performance. Bryce Young even produced a late touchdown to keep hope alive. None of it was enough, though. A six-sack nightmare, an inconsistent quarterback performance, and communication problems in the secondary combined to doom Carolina in a 27-19 loss to the Green Bay Packers.
Jeff Hanisch-Imagn Images
Carolina's offensive front deserves the biggest share of the blame for this loss. Green Bay brought consistent pressure and sacked Young six times. They repeatedly disrupted the timing of an offense that needed to establish some rhythm. The Panthers could not reliably protect the pocket. That turned too many passing situations into survival exercises.
The damage went beyond the sack total. Every time Young had to escape pressure, Carolina's receivers had less time to complete their routes and find open ****** e. The Packers could attack aggressively, knowing their rushers had a good chance of reaching the quarterback. That allowed Green Bay to dictate the terms of the matchup.

Things started out well tonight at Lambeau Field for the Carolina Panthers, who forced a fumble on the game's opening kickoff. They only got three points out of it, though—and it was mostly downhill from there.
In the end, they lost to the Green Bay Packers by a score of 27-19, which makes it sound much closer than it actually was. So, who had the greatest hands in the defeat?
Here are your studs and duds from a spooky-bad Thursday night loss . . .
Amazon opened their broadcast with Blue Oyster Cult's 1976 hit "Don't Fear the Reaper," and the Packers defense certainly didn't have to. For the second straight week, Young went to pieces under pressure, looking nothing like the confident and decisive quarterback he was early this season in the same situations.
Young responded poorly to the rush, running himself into sacks and releasing the ball at bad angles. He led one strong scoring drive in the fourth quarter—but it was too little, too late.

Thursday night was gut-check time for the Carolina Panthers, who were fresh off an embarrassing 30-point loss to the one-win Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 7. But that gut would just keep taking shot after shot, until the Green Bay Packers came out of Lambeau Field with a 27-19 win.
So, is this latest letdown the beginning of the end for the 2026 Panthers? Well, maybe it's not as deflating as some may think.
Here are our top takeaways from the Week 8 defeat:
For a second straight outing, the Panthers' offensive line greatly hampered quarterback Bryce Young.
Young took six sacks and, according to ESPN, was pressured on a career-high 22 of his dropbacks—many of which came ridiculously quickly. Heck, the Packers even got home on three-man rush at one point.

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson took an ambulance ride to a local hospital after suffering an injury during Thursday night's win over the Carolina Panthers, but precautionary testing on Watson's chest came back with good news, so he rode the ambulance back to Lambeau Field and finished the game without complication.
Watson explained the wild sequence, which started with him landing hard on the football at the end of his 53-yard catch in the second quarter and ended with Watson returning in the same ambulance he took to the hospital, running back onto the field to the roar of the crowd and catching two passes after being cleared to return from the frightening injury.
From Watson in the post-game locker room: "I think I just came down on the ball, or my elbow or something. I couldn't breathe on the field, got the wind knocked out of me. Got back to the sideline and was spitting up blood, so the doctor said I had to go get a CT. I was begging him to not make me do that, but it is what it is. Everything looked good, just got a rib, that's all, all the major stuff was all good, no internal bleeding or anything like that, so I was able to get back out there."
Watson said he has a broken rib. He wore extra padding and a molding around his ribs to protect the injury when he returned.
On the Prime Video broadcast, Watson told Kaylee Hartung that he was checking the doctor's play-by-play of the game while at the hospital. He was gone from the stadium for roughly an hour while being evaluated.

Christian Watson reveals why he was taken to hospital during Packers-Panthers game appeared first on ClutchPoints. Add ClutchPoints as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The Green Bay Packers are back in the win column, but not before an injury scare involving wide receiver Christian Watson during a Thursday Night Football game against the Carolina Panthers at Lambeau Field.
The former North Dakota State star wideout got hurt after making a 53-yard catch late in the first half. He left the game and was even taken to a hospital to get further medical attention.
Fortunately, Watson did not appear to suffer a serious injury, as evidenced by the fact that he was able to get back into the contest in the second half, helping the Packers take care of business and finish the game with a 27-19 victory over the Panthers.

Green Bay Packers QB Jordan Love connected on 30 of his 41 passes for 288 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception during the team's Week 8 win over the Carolina Panthers.
SOURCE: USA TODAY
Why It Matters: Forced to operate without the benefit of a professional-level running attack yet again on Thursday night, Love made lemonade, passing for more than 270 yards for the sixth time this season (and fourth in a row) while running his streak of games with multiple touchdowns to eight. Love has quietly moved into that same category as names like Dak Prescott and Jared Goff, who can produce midrange to low-end QB1 numbers without the benefit of doing any running. Through eight games, Love is on pace to throw for 4,773 yards, 34 TDs, and 13 INTs. Even without rushing numbers, that's borderline QB1 production.

The Green Bay Packers took down the visiting Carolina Panthers on "Thursday Night Football" to open Week 8 in the NFL. The big stats to know: Jordan Love threw three touchdown passes and Josh Jacobs scored twice, while the Packers defense produced six sacks and held the Panthers to just 3.7 yards per play.
Five other stats to explain the Packers' 27-19 win over the Panthers:
The Packers pressured Bryce Young on 48.9 percent of his dropbacks on Thursday night, and he completed only seven passes for 41 yards and took six sacks while pressured, per Next Gen Stats. Brenton ******* Jr. (6), Dani Dennis-Sutton and Lukas Van Ness (5) led the way in the pressure department for the Packers, who consistently won at the line of scrimmage and forced Young into rushed decisions or improvised throws. Because of the pass protection issues, Young completed only two passes thrown more than 10 yards downfield and attempted only one pass more than 20 yards downfield.
While Bryce Young languished under pressure, Jordan Love consistently got the ball out of his hands quick and on time. Per Next Gen Stats, Love completed 23 of 25 passes thrown in under 2.5 seconds after the snap, completing negating any pass-rush. His 23 "quick" completions were the most in a game by a quarterback this season and by far the most in his career, beating the 19 he had during Week 7 in 2024. Two of his three touchdowns came on quick throws under 2.5 seconds. The Panthers tried to blitz Love, but he consistently found quick answers to beat potential pressure.
The Packers turned the ball over three times: Coleman Owen's fumble on the opening kickoff return, Christian Watson's fumble in the second quarter and Jordan Love's interception to start the fourth quarter. But the Panthers turned those three takeaways into all of three points. And the field goal came after Owen's fumble set up the Panthers inside the 30-yard line. Turnovers can be huge momentum-turning plays in games, but not if a defense stands tall. Jonathan Gannon's group made sure mistakes made didn't turn into a run of points for the Panthers.

Carolina Panthers TE Darren Waller had one catch (on two targets) for 11 yards in a Week 8 loss against the Green Bay Packers.
SOURCE: USA TODAY
Why It Matters: Waller has just two receptions over the last three games combined, so even though one of those was a 50-yard touchdown, it's hard to advocate for the veteran to take up a roster spot as a shaky TE2 outside of the deepest of leagues.

Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young isn't playing at 100 percent. But that, based off the reactions from head coach Dave Canales and Young himself, doesn't seem to be too great of a concern—at least for now.
Young's knee issue, which he sustained back in the Week 3 loss to the Cleveland Browns, has kept his name on the injury report for the last handful of games. The effects of that problem seemed most obvious on Thursday night, throughout the Panthers' 27-19 loss to the Green Bay Packers.
With his offensive line failing to keep the pocket clean time and time again, Young—as he usually would—opted not to use his legs to extend plays. He was pressured on a career-high 22 dropbacks, and attempted zero scrambles.
Canales was asked if he thinks Young has been hampered by the injury.
"Maybe," he replied. "I would say that he certainly doesn't look like he's got that quick make-you-miss kind of deal. But he was able to create some **** e for himself.

An already-depleted Carolina Panthers cornerback room got even thinner on Thursday night.
Rookie Will Lee III, who had been playing some admirable ball in the absences of starters Jaycee Horn and Mike Jackson, went down with a hamstring injury in the second quarter of the 27-19 loss. The setback occurred on a 53-yard reception by Green Bay Packers wideout Christian Watson, as the 2026 fourth-round pick went down in his pursuit and would later be carted away to the locker room.
Head coach Dave Canales told reporters after the game that the extent of Lee's injury was "pretty good," and addressed the troubles his defense had in containing Green Bay's passing attack.
"Kinda battled out there and gave everything he [Lee] had on that one to affect the play," Canales stated. "But besides that, early on, they were having a lot of success in some third-and-longer types of situations. I'd love to see us get off the field in those moments—because we did a great job of first and second down, owning the run game and minimizing them. It really should've been an advantage for our defense in those modes."
Packers quarterback Jordan Love finished having completed 30 of his 41 throws for 288 yards, three touchdowns and an interception. He also led his offense to a 56.3-percent success rate (nine-of-16) on third downs.

Carolina Panthers WR Tetairoa McMillan had six receptions for 58 yards against the Green Bay Packers in Week 8. He was targeted a team-high 11 times in the loss.
SOURCE: USA TODAY
Why It Matters: With Bryce Young under duress on Thursday night, the passing game was primarily quick hitters with the hope that the wideouts could break a tackle or two and make a big play. It rarely worked out that way, however, and as a result McMillan averaged just 9.7 yards per catch. It was his third largely disappointing performance in his last five games and second in a row. We all saw what this passing attack could look like early this season, so McMillan's upside remains substantial, but the Panthers need to figure out a way to keep Young upright so he can take more downfield shots. While it's too soon to downgrade McMillan below WR2 status, his recent production has not been on that level.

The Green Bay Packers are 5-3 after beating the Carolina Panthers by a 27-19 final score on "Thursday Night Football" from Lambeau Field. There were **** ps along the way, especially early and late, but the Packers got three touchdown passes from Jordan Love and six sacks from Jonathan Gannon's defense to power what ended up being a winning performance.
Highlighting the good, the bad and the ugly coming out of Thursday night's win:
Jordan Love during the first three quarters, the adversity defense, and the pass-rush: Love was on fire for the first 45 minutes, completing 26 of his first 33 passes for 262 yards and three scores. He threw a pick early in the fourth quarter, starting a disappointing finish for the offense overall, but the Packers quarterback was terrific for most of the contest, playing on time from the pocket and consistently finding completions. Jonathan Gannon's defense was dominant at times, allowing only three points off three Packers turnovers, and the only three points came after the fumbled opening kickoff that gave the Panthers the ball in field goal range. It took a few crazy conversions for the Panthers to score a touchdown in the second half. The Packers were dominant up front, sacking Bryce Young six times and consistently disrupting the pocket.
The start, and most of the finish: How did the Packers open the game? By fumbling away the opening kickoff, dropping three first-quarter passes and committing a pre-snap penalty. The turnover spotted the Panthers three early points. To Green Bay's credit, the first quarter ended with the Packers leading. During most of the second and third quarters, the Packers were in complete control, leading 20-10 at the half and 27-13 with a chance to dagger the Panthers to start the fourth quarter. But Jordan Love threw a pick on the second play of the fourth, turning the game sharply, and the Panthers eventually scored on a 70-yard drive and had the ball down one score with a chance to tie the game. What should have been a comfortable, two- or three-score win ended up being a nail biter because the Packers made costly mistakes and couldn't run the ball. One more bad: Trey Smack missed an extra point, so the kicking worries continue to linger. The lost point mattered because it kept the Panthers within one score in the fourth quarter.
The run game. The Packers returned Aaron Banks to the lineup at left guard, and Josh Jacobs got a full workload against the NFL's worst run defense entering Week 8, but it wasn't nearly enough to awaken Green Bay's dormant run game. Jacobs turned 21 rushes into only 39 yards, and 18 of the Packers' 66 rushing yards came on a well-executed Savion Williams gadget play. The 25 designed runs to running backs gained all of 48 yards. Jacobs didn't have a run longer than six yards. It's possible the Packers run game just isn't going to happen in 2026. This is a historically bad start -- the Packers are just the 14th team since 1935 to rush for fewer than 500 yards

Carolina Panthers RB Chuba Hubbard carried the ball 22 times for 81 yards and a touchdown versus the Green Bay Packers in Week 8. He also caught seven passes (on eight targets) for 38 yards.
SOURCE: USA TODAY
Why It Matters: It was obvious that the Panthers wanted to duplicate their game plan from 2025 when they upset the Packers by handing the ball to Rico Dowdle and bleeding the clock. It worked for a time, but ultimately Hubbard wasn't nearly as successful. Still, the veteran back logged 29 touches for 119 yards and a touchdown during Thursday Night Football, which is strong production. The extra rest before a Week 9 matchup with the Broncos should help Hubbard heal up, and he's likely to be featured once again as Carolina works through some significant pass-protection issues. Hubbard is a low-end RB1 or strong RB2 right now.
