Little League International's disqualification of a Tulsa team in the Southwest Region was upheld by a Texas judge on Tuesday, prohibiting the team from playing in Tuesday's championship game for a berth in the Little League Baseball World Series.
Little League Baseball on Monday determined that a player was ineligible and removed Tulsa National from the region, deeming its previous game a forfeit. Later Monday, parents of players on the team filed, and were granted, a temporary restraining order from the 414th District Court in McLennan County, Texas, allowing Tulsa to play for the ***** le against West Texas on Tuesday night.
But Little League Baseball then asked the court to vacate the order, which the 414th District Court did Tuesday afternoon, not long before the scheduled first pitch in Waco, Texas.
"We appreciate the Court's timely and considered decision to vacate the Temporary Restraining Order," Little League Baseball said in a statement, "allowing enforcement of the Tournament Committee's decision to remove Tulsa National Little League from the Southwest Region Tournament and declare its previous game a forfeit.
"The decision upholds our commitment to a fair and equitable experience for all children based on our Official Rules, Regulations, and Operating Policies," the organization's statement added. "We empathize with the children of Tulsa National Little League and the likely disappointment this decision has caused. We recognize how memorable the Little League experience is for all children and the critical role that parents and adult volunteers are entrusted with to ensure that every child is cared for, treated fairly, and afforded a safe and positive experience."

In the latest Indianapolis Colts training camp practice, defensive tackle DeForest Buckner looked like DeForest Buckner.
As noted by the Indy Star's Joel Erickson, Buckner would have two wins during the offensive line vs. defensive line one-on-one period on Sunday. Then, during the final team period, he made his way into the backfield twice and had a run stop.
"Whenever Buck is out there, you can definitely feel him," Shane Steichen said, via Colts.com. "It's great to get him out there getting some team reps. Again, monitoring him through training camp, where his body's at, but he feels good. He feels good where he's at."
Buckner has been ramping up during training camp. After sustaining a neck injury last season that required surgery, he spent the offseason rehabbing.
Recently, Buckner has been taking part in the 11-on-11 periods after initially only taking part in individual drills early in camp.

Marc J. Spears: NBA free agent forward Ben Simmons is expected to be a full participant with "zeros restrictions" in a player-led Aussie men's national team mini-camp in Melbourne beginning Monday, sources to andscape. Simmons took last season off in hopes of completely healing from injuries. The three-time NBA All-Star paid his own way to the camp. A coach who worked out Simmons recently said he has regained his athleticism. The injury-plagued 30-year-old recently told andscape this is the best he's felt in years. He last played with the Nets & Clippers 24-25 season. Sources: Several NBA teams have expressed interest to Simmons' camp, including one West squad that offered a training camp invite. He is also open to signing a vet minimum contract. Simmons has dreams of playing for Australia during 2028 LA Olympics. Attending mini-camp aids hope.

Ben Simmons appears to be teasing a major push to fulfill his plans of an NBA comeback. On Instagram, the former NBA star sparked plenty of reactions with his latest post, which featured a photo of him inside a basketball gym. Simmons said he is proud of where he stands and is "ready for wherever this goes" in the caption. "I wouldn't change the story," Simmons wrote. "The highs, the lows, the pain, the time, the lessons. I embrace all of it. Every chapter built something in me that I couldn't have built any other way. Grateful for where I've been. Proud of where I stand. Ready for wherever this goes." — 8/9/2026 BasketNews
Simmons seems to be in a good place mentally now, but with all the scrutiny that comes from being Ben Simmons, I wanted to know if there's added pressure for this comeback. "Nah, there's no pressure," he says. "I had pressure when I was injured. People are gonna say the same thing every single time. It's like, All right, well, if that's what you think, then that's what you think." He thinks people are quick to forget the impact he could have on the court in his best moments, the way he contributes in ways that don't show up on a stat sheet. "When I'm out there, I make everybody better. I play defense. I get offensive rebounds." — 6/29/2026 Men's Health

The New England Patriots held a team scrimmage on Friday, and rookie running back Myles Montgomery had the play of the day.
Patriots quarterback Tommy DeVito threw a pass that was intended for wide receiver Tejhaun Palmer. Palmer bobbled the pass, but luckily, Montgomery was there to save it. He came running up the sideline, caught the bobbled pass and took it almost 50 yards. The hand-to-eye coordination was almost as impressive as his awareness on the play.
Montgomery completed what is easily the play of the summer (so far) as the Patriots are in the thick of an exciting two weeks of training camp. The Patriots released a highlight reel of plays, and Montgomery's catch comes up as the third play in the video.
Montgomery will have to work hard to stand out in a crowded running back room.
However, plays like the one he had in the scrimmage go a long way in helping him accomplish that goal. Rhamondre Stevenson and TreVeyon Henderson already have the top two running back spots locked up. So training camp will essentially crown the No. 3 option. So far, Terrell Jennings, Lan Larison and Jam Miller appear to be the top contenders.

Before heading to Cyprus next Thursday, our Red Bulls will first travel to face Wolfsberger AC. At approximately 9,537 km², Austria's southernmost state of Carinthia is almost the same size as the Mediterranean island (approx. 9,250 km²) – and it certainly also boasts plenty of sunshine and beaches. However, our focus is clearly on the pitch: with away wins targeted – starting on Sunday in the ADMIRAL Bundesliga.
The hunt for points at WAC won't be a walk in the park, though, as the Carinthian side's performance in the first matchday was truly impressive. Thomas Silberberger's team made a statement with their 3-0 home win against FK Austria Vienna in their league opener and, thanks to their superior goal difference, can even call themselves league leaders (level with LASK) after the first matchday. Meanwhile, we can draw on the confidence gained from three wins in three competitive matches.
Selecting attacking players will be difficult for Danny Röhl, as our Red Bulls have several players unavailable or doubtful after the grueling home match against Pafos FC. You can find more information about the issues below.
Kick-off is at the usual time this time: Sunday at 17:00 CEST. It will be shown on TV and streamed on Sky Sport Austria.
The match can also be watched, like all our Bundesliga matches, on OneFootball (with individual match streams and season passes available) except in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the following countries and regions where the following broadcasters show one to three Bundesliga matches per matchday: the Balkan region(Sportklub), Czechia and Slovakia (Arena Sport), Italy (Mola TV), Ukraine (Maincast TV), Russia (TV Start) and Israel (The Sports Channel).

Detroit tight end Tyler Conklin passed his Wednesday physical, per the NFL's transaction wire.
That indicates that Conklin's return is near and the ninth-year pro could be coming off the Physically Unable to Perform list quickly.
Conklin was placed on the PUP list before training camp alongside Lions safeties Brian Branch and Kerby Joseph.
The Lions signed Conklin to a one-year, $1.3 million contract this offseason. Conklin caught seven passes for 101 yards last season with the Chargers. The 6-foot-3, 245-pound tight end has played in 127 NFL games and started 69.
"Conklin's going to probably be about two weeks here, somewhere in there. He's running. You know, he got a little calf back in the spring. We're hopeful. No setbacks. We're trying to be smart with him, you know, but hopefully get him back as soon as possible, so we can get some reps on him," Lions head coach Dan Campbell said of Conklin ahead of Detroit's first day of training camp on July 29.

Drake Maye does not want the New England Patriots taking it easy on each other during training camp.
The Patriots quarterback addressed the spirited competition between wide receiver A.J. Brown and cornerback Christian Gonzalez after another intense practice in Foxborough. The two stars have repeatedly matched up during camp, creating the kind of physical, competitive battles that occasionally include a few words after the play.
Maye is enjoying every second of it.

Luka Doncic went through a fairly public split with his former fiancée Anamaria Goltes in 2025, but things have taken a surprising turn in the court case.
The unbelievable NBA trade which saw the Los Angeles Lakers acquire Luka Doncic from the Dallas Mavericks had some intense consequences on the superstar's personal life.
Doncic and his long-time girlfriend and fiancée, Anamaria Goltes, went through a messy breakup in the aftermath. The split wasn't straightforward either, with issues arising over custody of their two daughters, Gabriela and Olivia.
Goltes filed a lawsuit against Doncic in California for child support, which the 27-year-old and his attorneys disputed. And now, it seems that things are finally moving in a positive direction for Luka.

Infantino finds himself at the center of significant opposition following his announcement of contentious plans to sell ownership shares in competitions like the World Cup to external investors.
He was compelled to reverse course after UEFA, CONCACAF and the Asian Football Confederation joined forces to oppose the confidential proposal. There is now a coordinated push to oust Infantino, who had been prepared to pursue a fourth presidential term, as per The Mirror.

Here's a look back at Polk's brief NFL career.
The Saints placed Polk on the reserve/retired list on Sunday afternoon, signaling that the wide receiver has decided to walk away from the game.

A former Spartan will reportedly explore a return to college basketball following the recent injunction that allows a fifth year of eligibility for players in the 2022 class.
Former Michigan State guard Tre Holloman could return for another season with the Spartans this upcoming season. Jamie Shaw of On3 reported on Saturday that Holloman will be "exploring college options" for next season following the notable injunction that was approved on Friday.
Holloman played his first three years of his collegiate career with the Spartans before transferring to NC State for this past season. He appeared in 106 games during his three years with the Spartans, averaging 9.1 points and 3.7 ****** ists per game during his final season in 2024-25.
In his lone year with NC State, Holloman appeared in 32 games (27 of which were starts). He ended the season averaging 9.2 points and 2.1 ****** ists per game with the Wolfpack.
Holloman has been back in the East Lansing, Mich. area in recent weeks, playing in the Moneyball Pro-Am event and presumably hanging out with Spartan players. It'll be interesting to see if Michigan State would welcome him back to the program as a reserve point guard or if Holloman will look elsewhere for a starting role in his final year of college hoops.

It seems like the conference realignment talks never truly end, and more often than not, the Tulane Green Wave is a team that is brought up for a potential big move.
The Green Wave has found success in the American Conference in recent years, and there's never been a better time to make the jump to a bigger conference. While the Pac-12 seems the most likely right now due to the fact that it is actively rebranding and finding new members, it's not the most logical choice for Tulane: the majority of its programs are located on the West Coast or Pacific Northwest.
Rather, what would happen if the Green Wave made a jump to a Power Four conference? The team was part of the Southeastern Conference long ago, but it might be too ambitious to consider a return to that league, especially since it recently added the Texas Longhorns and Oklahoma Sooners. The Atlantic Coast Conference, however, seems like a more feasible landing spot. The Olive Green and Sky Blue is already in decently close proximity to some of the conference's core schools, and on a university level, it aligns well academically.
Football is the obvious moneymaker, and Tulane has made history in recent seasons. The team took down the eventual ACC Champion Duke Blue Devils early in the 2025 season and ended the year with its first-ever College Football Playoff appearance. If its current trajectory continues, then the program has what it takes to compete with many of the ACC's teams.
Of course, it's important to remember that every sport should be taken into consideration when there is a possibility to make a big jump. Tulane has a storied tradition in college baseball, but the team would likely struggle a bit more against a loaded field in the ACC. Both basketball programs would also take a hit. Most of the the other sports in Uptown would probably fare about as well as they have thus far, but a few programs would likely have to align with other conferences to have enough quality league opponents; the beach volleyball and bowling programs are currently members of Conference USA due to this issue.

Tyler Lacy may not be the first name Detroit Lions fans mention when discussing the defensive line. In fact, in our pre-Training Camp 53-man roster prediction article, we had Lacy as the last defensive lineman making the cut.
Dan Campbell believes he brings exactly the kind of reliability every good defense needs.
Lacy can set the edge, absorb physical work inside and move across the front without complaint. He also happens to approach the job the way Campbell wants every Lion to approach it.
"I'll start with the most important thing: He's a football guy," Campbell said.
"He's a professional. He prepares, practices hard and will do whatever you ask him to do."

World Cup boycott tracker: Updated list of nations taking action over Gianni Infantino and FIFA's sale plan originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The response to FIFA's brazen plan to sell shares in the FIFA World Cup has been swift and aggressive, as multiple groups and entities around the world call on member nations to take firm action against the monetization of the famous global tournament.
That has indeed taken place as at least one leading confederation of FIFA member ****** ociations has banded together and issued a firm statement against Gianni Infantino's proposal to create the FIFA Forward Enterprise (FFE).
The plan has generated fierce backlash as a bold attempt to generate millions of dollars in cash for the Swiss-based non-profit in exchange for shares in a commercial enterprise with direct links to the World Cup. While FIFA has denied that those financing the deal will not gain any kind of influence on the proceedings of the World Cup or other FIFA tournaments, that claim has been resoundingly rejected by the biggest critics of the plan.
The Sporting News details each confederation's reaction to the FFE plan, with the European governing body setting the tone for others to hopefully follow.

Big news in the sports world this week as LeBron James finally made his decision about where he is going to play next year, and as you know he decided on the Philadelphia 76ers. So, what does that mean for his sports card and collectibles market?
Shrug emoji.
His cards were already starting to go up-up-up over the last few weeks or so in anticipation of not only his latest decision but in response to the massive Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant card market boom that has happened in the last few months. It seemed only right that the nostalgia and fomo would carry into the LeBron market.
And while many of his flagship Topps rookie cards are in the thousands of dollars, there are still some fun LeBron collectibles on the market that I think are worth grabbing and holding for the long run.
The Campioni di Futuro (mini) rookie card is maybe my all-time favorite. It's odd, it's adorable and it's under $100 for a raw. There's also numbered and different color variations, and while it may not bring you generational wealth, it certainly remains relatively rare for a LeBron rookie.

Last month, USC baseball lost pitching coach Sean Allen, who was named the new head coach at Lamar. To replace him, the Trojans hired Hawaii’s Keith Zuniga. However, it appears as though that will not be the only **** istant coaching change that Andy Stankiewicz and USC make this offseason.
On Wednesday, it was reported that hitting coach and recruiting coordinator Travis Jewett will be leaving the Trojans for Vanderbilt, where he will take over as the de facto general manager. However, it took less than a day for USC to find his replacement, as Wednesday night, reports surfaced that the Trojans will be hiring veteran **** istant and longtime friend of Stankiewicz Bill Mosiello as their new hitting coach.
“Mosiello comes to USC after being an **** istant at several big-name programs in his career, including Cal State Fullerton, Arizona State, and four different schools now in the SEC,” Shotgun Spratling of 247Sports wrote. “But he is most well known as being a top **** istant at TCU for 11 of the last 13 years where he helped push the program to new heights. The Horned Frogs went to four consecutive College World Series appearances from 2014 to 2017 with Mosiello as the hitting coach.
“He had been the **** ociate head coach under Kirk Saarloos the last two seasons after a two-year stint as Ohio State's head coach. He went 60-51 with the Buckeyes and took them to their first Big Ten Tournament in a half decade in 2024, but left the position to return to Fort Worth. The Horned Frogs saw dividends right away as the team average improved 25 points in 2025, and TCU returned to the NCAA tournament (only to be beaten by USC) after not making it in 2024.
“But after TCU struggled to meet expectations this season, missing the postseason for just the second time in Mosiello's 11 years with the program, the Horned Frogs made multiple changes to their **** istant coaching staff, including parting ways with Mosiello. That opened the door for Mosiello and Stankiewicz to finally unite after more than 50 years of friendship.”

Mendez, Makhachev's longtime coach at AKA, believes his pupil has the correct strategy to defeat Machado Garry.
