With shares up by almost 700% over the last five years, Palantir Technologies (NASDAQ: PLTR) has been one of the biggest winners on the software side of the generative artificial intelligence (AI) megatrend. It has rapidly incorporated the new technology into its business model, leading to skyrocketing revenue and earnings.
That said, Palantir's stock rally has slowed over the last 12 months, leaving investors wondering whether it can return to the explosive growth it enjoyed in previous years. Let's dig into the pros and cons of the stock to decide what it might be worth by the end of 2027.
Missed Nvidia in 2009? This Rare Signal Is Flashing Again. In 2009, a "Double Down" signal flashed for a little-known chipmaker called Nvidia. For the first time in years, that same "Total Conviction" signal is flashing for a company 1/100th the size of Nvidia. Continue »
Right now, AI-hungry investors are mostly limited to the infrastructure side of the opportunity. This is where hardware companies like Nvidia and Micron build the chips that data center providers use to run and train large language models (LLMs). However, many leading consumer-facing AI software leaders are still privately held, putting them out of reach.
Palantir convincingly bucks the trend. Its business involves sifting through vast amounts of its clients' internal data to help them identify actionable insights like business trends, opportunities, and fraud. Generative AI proved highly synergistic with these tools, enabling operators to access insights via natural language prompts rather than advanced interfaces. Demand has been explosive.

Charlie Munger spent half a century lecturing investors on the psychology of their own mistakes. A month before he died, he admitted to one of the most common mistakes. Asked on the Acquired podcast how his investment in Hyundai had worked out, Munger said: "I lost money. Not much because I was stubborn. I held out until it got back to almost where I paid for it and then I sold it."
That sentence describes, almost word for word, the behavior behavioral economists call the disposition effect: the tendency to sell winners too early and hold losers too long, waiting for a stock to return to what you paid before letting it go. Hersh Shefrin and Meir Statman named it in 1985, and Terrance Odean documented it across thousands of retail brokerage accounts in a 1998 Journal of Finance paper. It is the mistake Munger's famous 1995 talk on the psychology of human misjudgment was written to help people avoid. Here he was, at 99, saying he had made it with his own money.

Borussia Dortmund are preparing for a massive top-of-the-table showdown against Bayern Munich this weekend as both sides look to break their current deadlock at the summit. Head coach Niko Kovac has acknowledged the significant threat posed by the record champions, specifically highlighting the form of their star forward.
Kovac has offered high praise for Kane as Dortmund prepare to face a Bayern side led by the newly crowned Ballon d'Or winner. The England captain has continued his devastating form in Germany, prompting the Dortmund boss to recognize the sheer scale of the task facing his defense on Saturday. Kovac noted that the striker's recent accolades speak for themselves, emphasizing that he has successfully reached a new level since moving to the Bundesliga.
"There's no need to say a word about him. The mere fact that he received this ****** le says everything about him. He was already a top player in England. To take another leap forward now is sensational," said Kovac on the club's official website
The stakes could not be higher for this edition of Der Klassiker, with both teams currently tied on 17 points after seven matchdays. While Bayern hold the top spot due to a superior goal difference, Dortmund have the opportunity to leapfrog their rivals. Kovac believes the current competitiveness at the top is a breath of fresh air for the league. However, the coach warned that excitement does not equate to an easy path to victory. He demanded absolute focus from his squad, stressing that only their best football would suffice in Munich.
"This certainly makes things a lot more exciting than in recent years. But that doesn't make it any easier, because FC Bayern Munich is undoubtedly the best of the best—not just in Germany, but also in Europe. We have to play at the very highest level. But we're Dortmund—we have our own standards, and we intend to live up to them," Kovac insisted.

Cam Buffington has been the most consistent producer for Iowa's defense this season. He was rewarded for that consistency on Wednesday.
Buffington was named a semifinalist for the Butkus Award, which is given annually to the most impactful linebacker in college football. The third-year from Winfield, Iowa, joins 14 other players as semifinalists for the award named after Hall of Fame linebacker **** Butkus.
Buffington has 62 total tackles and two sacks for the Hawkeyes this season. The 6-foot-3, 238-pound linebacker is tied with Northwestern's Braydon Brus for the most total tackles in the Big Ten this season. He's come up huge numerous times for Phil Parker's defense, including a 15-tackle performance in a tight win over Iowa State.
Buffington is the leader of a defense that's given up the eighth-fewest points (14.3) and 14th-fewest yards (281.3) per game among all FBS teams this season. Iowa's defense has been elite, and Buffington is a massive part of it.
If he wins the Butkus Award, Buffington would join Jack Campbell as the only Hawkeyes to ever take home the hardware. Finalists for the Butkus Award will be announced on Nov. 20. The winner will be announced in early December.

Matchday 8 of the Bundesliga serves up it's showpiece event, from which Bulinews.com will be reporting live, as Bayern Munich welcome Borussia Dortmund to the Allianz Arena. Kick-off in the Topspiel game is scheduled for 18:30 CET.
Aside from injuries and Vincent Kompany's absence, things could hardly be much better for Bayern right now. They arrive into this fixture off the back of a 6-1 thrashing of 1.FC Magdeburg, with several key names rested.
One of which was their newly crowned Ballon d'Or winner, Harry Kane. Averaging a goal a game against BVB in six games to date, he will be hoping to add to that. The returning Kimmich and Pavlovic will likely help towards that.
The German record champions' recent record on home soil against the Westphalians also bodes well. Eight wins, one draw and a single loss to the Black and Yellows in their last 10 Bundesliga meetings at the Allianz Arena.

Ranking 5 best and worst NBA Cup courts in 2026 originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The NBA season is still just getting underway, but it's already time to play for a championship.
A championship, not the championship.
The NBA Cup begins on Oct. 30, with group play games running through November and the bracketed portion of the tournament set for early December.
Last year, there was no daylight between the NBA Cup champion and the NBA champion. The Knicks won both, which might inspire hope that this year's winner is offering a sign of what's to come.

Novak Djokovic's hopes of making a record 19th appearance at the ATP Finals have been dented by a surprise defeat against Jan-Lennard Struff at the Swiss Indoors in Basel.
Playing in the tournament for the first time in 15 years, the 39-year-old lost 6-7 (4-7) 7-5 7-6 (7-5) - the first time he has been beaten by Struff in nine meetings.
"I knew I needed to go for it. There was only one way to play it. So, I was very, very happy," said the world number 27.
"I knew I had to play my best tennis to have a chance. The last eight times he beat me very, very easily. So, I'm very, very happy and pleased with the performance."
The year's top-eight performers qualify for the ATP event in Turin and this result leaves Djokovic - the men's game's record 24-time Grand Slam winner - 11th in the standings.

Yaroslav Askarov continued his strong play, stopping 23-of-25 shots.
Post-game, Smith spoke on how "fun" inspired the comeback win, Marchment praised Kiefer Sherwood, Filip Bystedt talked about his NHL debut, and head coach Ryan Warsofsky shared when he decided to reunite WillMack.

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (AP) — Defending champion and world No. 4-ranked Miyu Yamashita shot a 6-under 66 Friday to take a two-stroke lead after two rounds of the LPGA Tour's Maybank Classic.
The 2025 Women's British Open winner had a two-round total of 13-under 131 on the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club course. She won last year's Malaysian tournament after a three-way playoff.
Julia Lopez Ramirez birdied three of her final four holes for a 66 and was tied for second with Pauline Roussin-Bouchard, who led by a stroke after the first round.
"Try to keep your mind cool and your body hydrated in these conditions," Lopez Ramirez said of her preparations for the weekend in the usual high humidity in Kuala Lumpur.
A Lim Kim had the round of the day, a 64, and was in fourth place, three strokes behind Yamashita.

The Los Angeles Kings found a way to win a game they shouldn't have needed to find a way to win on Thursday night. They might have a change in coaching strategy to thank for that.
After blowing a 5-1 third-period lead, the Kings defeated the Ottawa Senators 6-5 in overtime behind Quinton Byfield's game-winner. But almost as interesting as the wild swings of the game was something Drew Doughty revealed after it ended.
"It's the first year in my whole career that we've ever actually worked on three-on-three," the Kings' captain said. "A lot of credit to the coaches in that area. We worked on it in camp. We worked on it before the season started, and they had a bit of a game plan, which we didn't really have before either. So a lot of credit to them for making us work on it."
If the Kings ever had an offseason where they needed to improve that aspect of their game, it was this past one. They lost an NHL-record 20 overtime and shootout games in 2025-26, a huge part of the reason they finished with the Western Conference's second wild-card spot and were swept out of the playoffs in the first round. First-year head coach Peter Laviolette came in and wanted to make sure the Kings didn't post those numbers again.
"There's definitely a method to the madness, and there's got to be a buy-in to that, and I think the players bought in," Laviolette said. "There's a lot of review that went through it, and there's things that we talk about prior to games and then after games — the overtime games — and reviewing that. And I think the players have done a really good job of executing them."

Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane has revealed that a pre-planned rest rather than excessive celebrations kept him on the bench during Wednesday night's emphatic 6-1 DFB-Pokal victory over Magdeburg. Having lifted the Ballon d'Or in London on Monday evening, the 33-year-old England captain watched on as an unused substitute in midweek.
Kane confirmed that Bayern coaching staff had already scheduled his midweek breather prior to Monday's ceremony, where he beat Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe and Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal to become England's first winner since Michael Owen in 2001. Although ready to feature if required, the veteran marksman was spared as Michael Olise netted a brace. Consequently, the forward was able to recover from a few exhausting days.
Speaking as quoted by TNT Sports, Kane explained the decision behind his omission: "I didn't party too hard! I could have played, but to be honest, Danksy [Bayern **** istant Aaron Danks] spoke to me and said they were thinking of trying to give me a break in this game, even before the Ballon d'Or, because I've played a lot of games in the last six weeks or so.
"It just worked well, the guys who started did really well. There was a moment in the game where he was thinking of bringing me on and we scored the fourth goal and killed the game off. All in all, I think it was important to get a rest. It's been a big emotional load, going through the big high on Monday.
"Big game on Saturday now as well [against Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga], so I'll train tomorrow and be ready for that."

TOMARATA, New Zealand (AP) — Defending champion Fifa Laopakdee of Thailand salvaged a 1-over 71 in strong wind Friday in the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship to take a two-stroke lead into the weekend at Te Arai Links.
A day after opening with an 8-under 63, Laopakdee began his morning round on the seaside layout bogey-bogey-birdie-bogey-bogey in 35 mph wind. The Arizona State senior also bogeyed the 10th, then birdied Nos. 12, 13 and 17.
"I had a 5‑footer two holes in a row and the ball just snapped 90 degrees," Laopakdee said. "I aimed a foot left from 5 feet and it went like 3 feet right. It's pretty tricky. Overall, it was a grind out there and I would take 7 under for the first two rounds."
The winner will receive spots in the Masters and British Open. Last year in Dubai, Laopakdee won the third hole of a playoff to become the first Thai champion in event history.
Three players from New Zealand followed on the leaderboard. Cooper Moore (70) was second at 5 under, Ryan Xie (71) was 4 under, and Zack Swanwic (67) 3 under. Kaito Sato of ****** an was 2 under after a 72.

A day after opening with an 8-under 63, Laopakdee began his morning round on the seaside layout bogey-bogey-birdie-bogey-bogey in 35 mph wind. The Arizona State senior also bogeyed the 10th, then birdied Nos. 12, 13 and 17.

Valkyries most to blame for ugly WNBA Finals Game 6 loss vs. Dream appeared first on ClutchPoints. Add ClutchPoints as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The Golden State Valkyries had an opportunity to secure their first WNBA championship Thursday afternoon. Instead, a disastrous first quarter put them in a hole they could never quite climb out of.
Golden State fell 80-69 to the Atlanta Dream in Game 6 of the WNBA Finals, setting up a winner-take-all Game 7 on Saturday in San Francisco. Despite a late comeback attempt, the Valkyries could not overcome a 20-point halftime deficit as Atlanta forced the series back to Golden State.
The Valkyries entered Thursday's matchup having won two consecutive games, but looked nothing like the team that had taken control of the series. Atlanta's offense came alive early, while Golden State struggled to generate much of anything on the other end.

Ford has now announced the cars, the colors, the concert, the cable channel and the charity fund for its Veterans Day Classic at Daytona. What it hasn't announced, at least in the material it has published so far, is how long the race runs or how a winner gets picked. That gap is the story, and it's why the lineup tells you more than the poster does.
The event is set for Wednesday, Nov. 11, at Daytona International Speedway, three days after the Cup Series finale at Homestead (here's how that November calendar stacks up). Ford is running it in collaboration with NASCAR, Blue Star Families, IMSA and HSR, according to Ford's own announcement. Twelve Ford Racing drivers will split into six teams, one for each branch of the U.S. military, all in Mustang Dark Horse R race cars.
Think about what that means. In a normal NASCAR weekend, Ford's pitch to its fans is simple: beat Chevrolet and Toyota. Here there is **** ody to beat. Every driver, every car and every logo on the grid is Ford, so the manufacturer has to build the stakes from scratch. Its answer is the military branch as team identity, and Ford says the teams are racing for bragging rights.
That is a smart device and a fragile one. A one-make race can't borrow rivalry from the paddock. It has to earn it in two hours of television, which is why the details Ford hasn't filled in matter more than usual.
Ford's lineup pairs the drivers like this: Army gets Joey Hand and Brad Keselowski, the Marine Corps gets Ryan Blaney and Ben Hobson, the Navy gets Logan Sargeant and Ryan Preece, the Air Force gets Frankie Muniz and Austin Cindric, the **** e Force gets Noah Gragson and Layne Riggs, and the Coast Guard gets Joey Logano and Ty Majeski.

Josh Reaume endured a challenging afternoon in Friday's Love's RV Stop 225 at Talladega Superspeedway, finishing 22nd after starting 33rd. The Team Reaume driver gained 11 positions during the event and briefly led one lap in his No. 22 Ford.
Reaume began the race near the rear of the field, facing the challenge of advancing through a competitive 36-truck lineup. However, the unpredictable drafting conditions provided several opportunities for competitors to gain positions as the running order constantly changed.
The first major accident occurred on Lap 17, collecting eight trucks and forcing NASCAR to temporarily stop the race. Reaume avoided elimination in that incident and continued battling for track position as the event progressed. His Ford also remained competitive during the second stage, when multiple drivers experienced tire problems and varying pit strategies reshuffled the field.
Reaume eventually moved into the lead for one lap, providing a notable moment during his afternoon. The final stage featured additional accidents and an overtime finish, but Reaume could not remain on the lead lap. He ultimately completed 82 laps and finished 22nd, four laps behind winner Sammy Smith.
The performance earned Reaume 15 points and represented an improvement of 11 positions from his original starting spot.

Justin Haley endured a challenging afternoon during Friday's Love's RV Stop 225 at Talladega Superspeedway, finishing 20th after an early tire problem disrupted his race. The Kaulig Racing driver started 17th and led two laps before encountering difficulties.
Haley initially demonstrated competitive speed in his No. 16 Ram, moving toward the front during the opening stage. However, his afternoon changed on Lap 13 when a flat tire forced him to slow while running in traffic. Contact from Kaden Honeycutt briefly sent Haley sideways, but he managed to save the truck and return to pit road without triggering a caution.
The unscheduled stop cost Haley valuable track position and forced him to spend much of the remainder of the event attempting to recover. Despite the setback, he remained competitive during the second stage, finishing ninth and collecting two additional points.
The final stage featured multiple accidents and an overtime finish, but Haley could not regain the lost laps. He ultimately completed 84 laps and finished 20th, two laps behind winner Sammy Smith. Haley earned 19 points and maintained 14th in the overall NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series standings with 475 points.
He will look to finish the season strongly at Martinsville and Homestead-Miami.

The result earned him 23 points and helped him maintain 18th in the overall NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series standings with 366 points.

One compelling reason the words "Game 7" stir the sports fan's soul: It seldom happens.
Only six times in Bay Area history has a local franchise played in Game 7 with the championship at stake. And only three times has that captivating, tension-filled, winner-take-all event taken place here: Giants-Yankees in the 1962 World Series, A's-Mets in the 1973 World Series and Warriors-Cavaliers in the 2016 NBA Finals.
Now we have a fourth entry.
Saturday's Game 7 of the WNBA Finals at Chase Center, featuring the Golden State Valkyries and Atlanta Dream, counts as a milestone on multiple levels. It also will mark the first time a WNBA postseason series has reached Game 7 - the league adopted a best-of-seven Finals format last year, when Las Vegas swept Phoenix.
The previous year, in 2024, New York and Minnesota went the distance in their best-of-five Finals (the Liberty won 67-62 in Game 5). Any decisive game brings sporting theater, but Game 7s carry extra cachet - as the culmination of a long series, with sustained drama and wild momentum swings.

Forever Young, who last year made history as the first ***** anese horse to win the Breeders' Cup Classic, vies for a rare repeat in the showpiece of the $34 million racing extravaganza at Keeneland on Saturday.
Trainer Yoshito Yahagi sounded a confident note after the well-traveled five-year-old enjoyed a "perfect gallop" on the Lexington, Kentucky, track on Wednesday in his final tuneup for the 1 1/4-mile, $7 million race.
"The horse is moving beautifully," Yahagi said. "I'm very satisfied. There is no concern about the horse's condition. He is very fresh."
Forever Young was installed as the 2-1 early favorite after drawing the fifth post, and Yahagi acknowledged that the challenge facing the two-time Saudi Cup-winner and jockey Ryusei Sakai is somewhat different this year as they try to follow Tiznow in 2000 and 2001 as the only repeat Classic winners.
"I think the quality of the rivals is the same as last year, but our position this year is quite different from last year," Yahagi said. "Last year, we have to take on the challenge to win the Breeders' Cup Classic. But this year, I think we are in the position that everybody is targeting us, so it's not quite easy to defend the ***** le."

The Charlotte Hornets announced on Thursday that forward Kon Knueppel has been ****** igned to the team's G League affiliate in Greensboro, North Carolina for Thursday's practice.
Though Knueppel is still listed as out for Friday's matchup at the Washington Wizards, being ****** igned to practice with the Greensboro Storm is an encouraging sign that the second-year sharpshooter is nearing a return after missing the Hornets' first five games of the season with a strained left hamstring.
Friday's game is the first of a back-to-back for Charlotte, who hosts the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday. So perhaps the team is waiting to play him at home or maybe his season debut will be Monday versus the Detroit Pistons.
Knueppel, 21, suffered the injury just over a month ago during what the Hornets termed "offseason on-court activity." This occurred shortly before NBA teams reported for training camp, which Knueppel missed due to the hamstring strain along with the entire preseason.
Last season, Knueppel finished second in NBA Rookie of the Year balloting after challenging 2025 No. 1 overall pick and eventual winner Cooper Flagg by averaging 18.5 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.4 ****** ists. Selected No. 4 overall out of Duke in the 2025 NBA Draft, he led the league by making 273 3-pointers, shooting 43% on 673 attempts.
