If you had only ever seen Katie Holmes as tomboy-adjacent Joey Potter from "Dawson's Creek," which is arguably the actor's most famous role, then you might be surprised to look up and witness the gorgeous, style-forward woman that Holmes has become in the years since. From Katie Holmes' stunning hair transformation to her trend-setting street style — you can take notes from Katie Holmes on nailing denim-on-denim — this former girl-next-door has established herself as a fashionable member of the A-list.
However, there is one thing that Katie Holmes still has in common with her years portraying Joey: a minimalist approach to cosmetics. Surprised? This may seem like a big shift from the woman who told Redbook in 2013 that while some celebs don't need makeup, "But I do! I need it!" and confessed to British Vogue, "I don't always take off my makeup before bed."
Today's Katie Holmes is a skincare-conscious queen who prioritizes a healthy glow. And while she enjoys her time in the makeup chair, she doesn't feel that a full-face look is necessary armor for day-to-day life. She even filmed an entire movie — 2015's "Touched with Fire" — wearing basically no makeup on camera. This translates into many moments in the actor's off-screen existence, as well. From grocery shopping and posting selfies without cosmetics to scaling back her event makeup wherever she can, Katie Holmes prefers to embrace her inherent beauty.

Welcome to Week 8 of the fantasy football season! Below I have some players I think you should start and some I think you should sit. As usual, your mileage may vary depending on your available choices, so don't just blindly bench someone if you don't have a better option!
Houston Texans, New Orleans Saints, New York Giants, and San Francisco 49ers
Prescott has been up and down this season, but he's coming off a strong Monday night game against the Eagles and now faces a bad Cardinals pass defense. Arizona has given up the most adjusted yards per attempt, the most receiving touchdowns, the second worst QB rating, and the second most yards per completion. Prescott is poised to pick up where he left off on Monday night.
If the Cardinals had better backup quarterbacks, I would be worried that Brissett might be benched during a game, but they don't. This week, as long as Brissett plays the whole game, it will be difficult for him not to accumulate fantasy points. I expect the Cowboys will be able to score on the Cardinals, while Brissett inefficiently tries to keep up through the air. Dallas, so far, has allowed the third worst completion percentage, the seventh worst average yards per attempt, and the third-worst yards per completion to opposing quarterbacks.
Murray continued to play poorly last week, but the Vikings also continued to win. Not trailing in games hurts Murray, as he doesn't need to run and throw as much to try to make up points. This week they'll face a Lions offense that should have more success against Brian Flores' top defense than any team this year. The Lions defense also remains the absolute worst at giving up fantasy points to quarterbacks. That has a lot to do with the Lions keeping teams throwing the ball from a deficit, but the results are hard to ignore.

Angel Reese being praised for her performance during the 2026 WNBA Finals doesn't sit well with one Los Angeles Clippers fan.
The Atlanta Dream survived the win-or-go-home Game 6 against the Golden State Valkyries in the 2026 WNBA Finals.
Star forward Angel Reese contributed 15 points to the 80-69 win, but she had a somewhat off-shooting night.
Despite that, many have praised Reese for her overall performance in the series and want her to win the Finals MVP if the Dream seal the deal in Game 7.
One X user, 'Jacobtheclipper' doesn't share the same enthusiasm about Reese's WNBA Finals performance as others.

Borussia Dortmund are preparing for a massive top-of-the-table showdown against Bayern Munich this weekend as both sides look to break their current deadlock at the summit. Head coach Niko Kovac has acknowledged the significant threat posed by the record champions, specifically highlighting the form of their star forward.
Kovac has offered high praise for Kane as Dortmund prepare to face a Bayern side led by the newly crowned Ballon d'Or winner. The England captain has continued his devastating form in Germany, prompting the Dortmund boss to recognize the sheer scale of the task facing his defense on Saturday. Kovac noted that the striker's recent accolades speak for themselves, emphasizing that he has successfully reached a new level since moving to the Bundesliga.
"There's no need to say a word about him. The mere fact that he received this ****** le says everything about him. He was already a top player in England. To take another leap forward now is sensational," said Kovac on the club's official website
The stakes could not be higher for this edition of Der Klassiker, with both teams currently tied on 17 points after seven matchdays. While Bayern hold the top spot due to a superior goal difference, Dortmund have the opportunity to leapfrog their rivals. Kovac believes the current competitiveness at the top is a breath of fresh air for the league. However, the coach warned that excitement does not equate to an easy path to victory. He demanded absolute focus from his squad, stressing that only their best football would suffice in Munich.
"This certainly makes things a lot more exciting than in recent years. But that doesn't make it any easier, because FC Bayern Munich is undoubtedly the best of the best—not just in Germany, but also in Europe. We have to play at the very highest level. But we're Dortmund—we have our own standards, and we intend to live up to them," Kovac insisted.

Borussia Mönchengladbach are in talks to extend Wael Mohya's contract beyond 2028.
According to Sky Germany, the club's management want to reward the 17-year-old's development. In doing so, Mohya will reportedly double his salary which will see him earn around €2m per year.
Mohya has been a star of this Gladbach side in 2026/27, having featured in all nine matches across all competitions this season, while registering a goal and ****** ist in the Foals' Matchday 7 victory over VfB Stuttgart, their first win of the season.
Praising Mohya's performance against Stuttgart, Head of Sport Rouven Schröder said: "The way he dribbles forward, the audacity with which he sets up the goal … Hats off! […] very happy that Wael showed what he's capable of."
Gladbach head coach Alexander Blessin also praised the club's rising star. "He's a very young guy who's open and laughs, he doesn't care too much about pressure," expressed Blessin, who lauded Mohya's attacking abilities. "His ability to relieve pressure in one-on-one situations is crucial."

Frequent board commenter Solanus tracks an enormous amount of pitcher and catcher data, tabulating each game result by hand. Last year, he gave me enough insight into his spreadsheets where I was able to re-create much of the data he hand tabulates (I'm way too lazy for that!) and I wanted to peak at some of those data points and see what we could learn about the defensive side of their catching corps.
The data itself comes from a mix of sources. Statcast data for actual line-ups and game events (who pitched, who caught, which innings, etc.). Baseball reference.com for overall pitching lines for each game, and with Fangraphs because of course there has to be differences in how the data is constructed that doesn't make it easy. Team ids between sites are different. Player Ids are different. Even game Ids are different, and all three have to be brewed together to knit the data into one consistent result.
I wrote the code. The methods are all Solanus. I simply copied his logic into R code and ran it. So he gets all the credit.
I chose to query both the 2025 and 2026 seasons (you will likely understand why when I go through it). Here is the raw data, and following that some of the interesting morsels I discovered and thought about some.

Dejan Kulusevski has revealed how a "change to my nervous system" enabled him to return with Tottenham after a 17-month injury layoff left him fearing the end of his football career.
The Swedish midfielder was introduced to a rapturous reception in the 87th minute of the club's 3-1 home victory against Coventry last week and followed that up with another substitute appearance in Saturday's win at Chelsea as Spurs continued their improvement after a poor start to the Premier League season.
Kulusevski had multiple setbacks after knee surgery in May 2025. But a second procedure in March finally set him on the road to recovery.
Speaking ahead of Saturday's match against Crystal Palace, the 26-year-old Kulusveski told SpursPlay: "It had been like one year and a couple of months and I still can't walk on the stairs. I can't walk on the stairs like a normal guy. I have to play football so in my head I'm not going to give up, but I have to think that if this doesn't work out, what do I do?
"I went to a physio in Sweden. He was able to change my nervous system and then it felt different. When I did the exercises, I said, 'I don't have pain, like this hurt yesterday. Why is this not hurting today?'

Patriots vs. Dolphins bold predictions for AFC East clash in NFL Week 8 appeared first on ClutchPoints. Add ClutchPoints as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The New England Patriots will be a rested and motivated team when they take the field in South Florida to take on the Miami Dolphins. The Patriots lost a hard-fought game against the Chicago Bears last Thursday night, but the defeat was a competitive effort that demonstrated they could play on the road against a team with legitimate Super Bowl aspirations.
The ****** ignment this week doesn't compare. The Dolphins lack the kind of talent on either side of the ball to put up a 60-minute fight against QB Drake Maye and a motivated Patriots team. Miami earned its first victory of the season in their Week 7 game against the New York Jets, but they benefitted greatly from an inefficient and sloppy game from the Jets.
It is unlikely that the Patriots will come at them in a similar manner. New England has played four consecutive solid games, and three of them were victories. When they took down the Buffalo Bills on the road in Week 4, it demonstrated that Mike Vrabel's team was back on track and was ready to make a run at the AFC East ****** le once again.

Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young isn't playing at 100 percent. But that, based off the reactions from head coach Dave Canales and Young himself, doesn't seem to be too great of a concern—at least for now.
Young's knee issue, which he sustained back in the Week 3 loss to the Cleveland Browns, has kept his name on the injury report for the last handful of games. The effects of that problem seemed most obvious on Thursday night, throughout the Panthers' 27-19 loss to the Green Bay Packers.
With his offensive line failing to keep the pocket clean time and time again, Young—as he usually would—opted not to use his legs to extend plays. He was pressured on a career-high 22 dropbacks, and attempted zero scrambles.
Canales was asked if he thinks Young has been hampered by the injury.
"Maybe," he replied. "I would say that he certainly doesn't look like he's got that quick make-you-miss kind of deal. But he was able to create some **** e for himself.

I'm a fan of David Samson. The former Marlins executive turned host at Meadowlark Media speaks candidly, and usually supports his positions with solid evidence. He's been gracious with his time to our writers over the years. His prior conversations with Pablo Torre and John Skipper on The Sporting Class always made me think. Whether Marlins and Expos fans like him or his opinions are right more than wrong doesn't change my position.
But earlier this week, David stepped on a landmine. He declared that we don't need baseball on the radio anymore. David said, "We all live by the clock that is kernels of sand through an hourglass. So, radio will go the way of Kodak and Blockbuster. It doesn't mean the voices will go away. The voices will find a different way to get into your brain because you have a different way of engaging with content."
In my opinion, David couldn't be more wrong. The response to those remarks has been huge across social media. Most feel similar to yours truly. I respect David's knowledge of the baseball business. He ran the Miami Marlins for 15 years. He spent a few years with the Expos too. He's been a part of media deals on the team's side pointing out that teams "buy a block of time, and then go out and sell ads." Some clubs do that. But most big brands don't. Let's examine the issue a little deeper.
Reach matters in today's media climate. Nielsen data shows AM/FM radio reaches 87% of U.S. adults every week. Those numbers aren't from 10-15 years ago. They are from the first quarter of 2026. That beat smartphones at 82%, TV-connected devices at 78% and live TV at 71%. Even among adults 18-34, radio reaches 81%.
Is radio's revenue down from its peak? Yes. The industry produced over 21 billion in 2006. BIA projects local radio will earn $12.2 billion in 2026. That's still a lot of money even if it's less than what existed 20 years ago. Still, Samson said there is no money in radio. Twelve billion Benjamin's suggests otherwise.

Bayern Munich and Erling Haaland is a partnership that has almost happened three times.
Is a fourth attempt on the radar? Not according to Bayern Munich CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen:
Jan-Christian Dreesen on Erling Haaland's name being linked to FC Bayern, after Manchester City were found guilty of charges: "We have the best striker in the world in Harry Kane, and an attacking line that has no equal in Europe. So, from our perspective, the question of signing Haaland doesn't arise at all."
When asked if Bayern could even afford a player like Haaland at all, Dreesen replied: "We've proven that we can afford it. We can sign Premier League players. We've shown that with Kane, we've shown it with Díaz, and we've shown it with Olise." – but he says that Bayern have a wonderful team that they are very happy with, so they have no need for Erling Haaland.
Kane appears to be on the verge of—at least—a two-year extension. If that happens, it would remove any chance of the Bavarians taking a gander at Haaland should Manchester City get sanctioned into the abyss.

In five games played since he emerged from a two-year retirement, Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald has yet to record a sack. During his weekly press conference on Thursday, Donald was asked whether that bothers him.
"No. I didn't come back for individual stats," Donald told reporters. "I would love to have some stats, but I'm here to just play the game. When the plays present themselves, take advantage of it, try to get my plays, but my main focus is trying to find ways to help this team win. That's the goal. I didn't come back to try to earn individual accolades or anything. I did that, accomplished that. It doesn't excite me. The only thing that excites me is winning so I'm just playing a football game, trying to do what I can to help this team. As long as we win, I can build off everything else and get myself better off that."
The Rams have won only three of seven games, and Donald has yet to play with Myles Garrett. Even though it was the trade that brought Garrett to the Rams that lit the fuse to get Donald to return.
Against the Raiders in Week 7, Donald was on the field for 74 percent of the Rams' defensive snaps. It was his highest rate of the season, and the more he's on the field, the more likely he'll be to get some of those stats he'd love to have — even if winning continues to be the focus.
The Rams should get their fourth win of the season on Sunday, against the 0-6 Chargers. If they don't, the Rams will be 3-5 through eight games and dangerously close to having too many losses to play beyond Week 18.

Ferrari had a perfectly good explanation for Austin qualifying ready before the cars were back in the garage: the straights. Lewis Hamilton said rivals keep accelerating where the Ferrari lifts, and he put the Red Bull Ford power unit's advantage at roughly three to four tenths a lap, while admitting he hadn't seen the data that weekend. It is a tidy story. It is also only half of what the official timing sheet says.
Here is the awkward detail: Charles Leclerc's quickest lap of the weekend came in Q2, not Q3. He went 1:34.198 to top the second session, then 1:34.267 in the shootout. Had he simply repeated the Q2 lap, it would have been quicker than every Q3 time except Kimi Antonelli's pole lap of 1:34.035. A straight-line deficit doesn't switch on between sessions, so something else changed in Q3.
Lining up each driver's Q2 and Q3 laps is revealing. Hamilton found 0.522s between sessions and still ended up fifth, 0.276s off pole. Isack Hadjar found 0.637s. Max Verstappen found 0.257s and Antonelli 0.243s. Leclerc found nothing; he went backwards by 0.069s and finished fourth, 0.232s adrift.
Leclerc's own explanation was the track cooling down and the tyres not coming up to temperature cleanly in Q3. Fred Vasseur said Ferrari was in the pole fight until the final corner. Those aren't the words of a team that was out-powered by half a second down the straights. They describe a team that left time in the final sector on a one-lap run where the window for the tyres is narrow.
To be clear, Hamilton's straight-line complaint can be true at the same time. A car that gives away a few tenths in a straight line needs everything else to be perfect on a qualifying lap, and Ferrari's margin for a slightly cold tyre is thinner than it looks. That is my read, not something either driver said, but it fits the numbers: Ferrari looked like pole contenders in Q2 and a fraction short in Q3 because the margin vanished the moment the tyres weren't ideal.

San Antonio viewers are about to see a new face on their TV screens. But one station's new addition is a face you may have seen before.
Casey Viera, who spent about three and a half years with local CBS affiliate KENS 5, announced on social media on Thursday, October 29, that he'll be making a comeback in San Antonio.
"Happy to share I've returned back to KENS5 as a Sports Anchor," Viera wrote in a post on X. "Thrilled to be back to make more memories in such an exciting time in San Antonio with a place that's given me some of the best times of my career."
According to LinkedIn, Viera was with KENS 5 from January 2022 until May 2025, where viewers saw anchored the 6 and 10 p.m. sportscasts. Viera told MySA his contract with the station timed out amid TEGNA's merger with Nexstar Media Group, though he never wanted to leave because it's the "best newsroom I've ever worked in."
"It was a place that I felt like when I started there, I just gelled immediately. And it's the type of thing, when you're in this field, that doesn't come about a whole lot," Viera said.

Only five games into his NBA career, former UNC superstar Caleb Wilson is embracing every bit of the Chicago lifestyle.
The Bulls took Wilson fourth overall in the 2026 NBA Draft, needing instant starpower in a big way. Wilson quickly showcased his pro readiness in NBA Summer League action, scoring a debut-record 35 points, then continued to thrive in the preseason.
On a recent episode of pro basketball player Jared Brownidge's "Link with JB podcast," Wilson told Chicago sports fans four things they should know about him.
"Number one, Green Bay sucks," Wilson said. "Number two, we're going to get some good wins and eventually, you guys will think the Chicago Bulls are fire again, if you don't think so already. Number three, I don't like ketchup on my hot dogs anymore. And number four, it's a great day to be in Chicago. That's pretty much it."
That first sentence is a core of Windy City sports fandom. While Green Bay (Wisc.) doesn't have an NBA team, the Packers and Chicago Bears form the NFL's most historic rivalry.

Being 6-0 helping Vikings' Justin Jefferson put on good face during worst start of career appeared first on ClutchPoints. Add ClutchPoints as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
It doesn't take extreme math to figure out the Minnesota Vikings have a Justin Jefferson problem. They need to get him the ball if they want to keep their undefeated run going. But being 6-0 is helping Jefferson put on a good face during the worst start of his career, according to ESPN.
"His 60.4 receiving yards per game through Week 7 is 32% lower than his next-worst start to a season in 2025, when he averaged 88 yards," Kevin Seifert wrote. "His 23 catches are also his lowest total through the first seven weeks of a season in his career. All told, 71 NFL players have more targets than Jefferson (31) this season."
Yikes. ****** o, may I speak to Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell? Has he lost his ability to oversee an actual NFL offense?

BENTON — Fairfield senior running back Miguel Gutierrez is an unlikely success story.
He doesn't look like an average football player, as he stands only 5-foot-6 and weighs only 170 pounds.
"I'm pretty small," said Gutierrez.
Past results on the field also didn't suggest that Gutierrez would make a great impact as a football player. He rushed for just 252 yards on 55 carries last year for the Falcons.
But Gutierrez wasn't lacking confidence going into his senior season.

Auburn is 4-3, but it has already been a great first season under Alex Golesh. There's hope for the future, considering the offense hasn't even begun to get rolling as expected. With a stunning win over Georgia, though, the fan base got a glimpse of what might be coming next year.

Now the Tigers can do some real damage. Hand Ole Miss its third loss, and all of a sudden the SEC will have a hard time putting more than a few teams in the College Football Playoff.

The Rebels have a brutal finishing kick, but after a tough 27-24 loss at Texas, dealing with Auburn is dangerous enough.
Ole Miss doesn't get any chance to rest with Georgia up next and a trip to Oklahoma to follow.
Auburn gets a bit of a break with Arkansas coming to The Plains next, followed by a date against the Kamario Taylor-less Mississippi State team. And then it's Samford to tune up for the showdown against Alabama.
Ole Miss won the last two in the surprisingly short series – the two have only played 48 times. Auburn leads 35-13.

A report says that Prince Harry's hopes for reconciliation are in doubt after his latest interview. It coincided with King Charles welcoming the Sultan of Oman for a historic state visit to the UK. The news emerged after the Duke of Sussex revisited family matters and voiced hopes for a reunion during his recent sit-down with Zach Baron.
In a landmark moment, King Charles hosted the Sultan of Oman, Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, on Tuesday. It marked the first state visit by an Omani ruler to the UK in 44 years. The talks focused on boosting trade, defence, and Middle East peace efforts. Oman is seen as a key UK ally, and the King's meeting was expected to lead the headlines.
However, the significant diplomatic engagement was overshadowed after Prince Harry chose the same day to release his first tell-all interview since returning to Britain. However, the non-working royal's exclusive conversation drew major public attention and ended up taking center stage instead.
Commenting on the overlap, broadcaster Carole Malone and Daily Express royal editor Emily Ferguson weighed in. They suggested the repeated clashes in timing show Harry is not seeking reconciliation.
Appearing on the Royals Unscripted podcast, Malone said, "Charles will want to placate because he's of an age where he doesn't want to not be speaking to his son again. But I think Wills now is going to be taking the reins on this because what's happening now is that they are going to damage the royal brand… if this happens every time the royals are going to have a big event on."

A royal expert claims that King Charles may distance himself from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. This could happen as some serious allegations against Markle's father have surfaced. The source reportedly that, as the allegations have attracted unwanted attention to the Royal Family, it might lead to the monarch making a serious decision.
WARNING: The article contains mention of child ******* .
In a conversation with Page Six, Kinsey Schofield revealed what could prompt King Charles to step away from the Sussexes' relationship. "This may give King Charles III the ammunition to take a firmer stance in distancing the monarchy from Harry and Meghan," she said, referring to the allegations against Thomas Markle Sr. that he reportedly possessed child ******* .
She claimed that she doesn't expect King Charles or the Royal Family to address the ongoing situation surrounding Markle's father. This is because she is aware that this matter is in relation to private individuals and not ******* ociated with the Royal Family. Therefore, they do not need to defend or explain themselves. "The Sussexes are private citizens, and perhaps it's time the Palace made that separation unmistakably clear," the royal expert added.
These remarks came amid reports that Markle's half-brother, Thomas Jr., told the police that he found "hundreds, if not thousands" of child ******* images from his father's home in the Philippines. After submitting the sworn statement, Thomas Jr. spoke to the police about the disturbing situation (via The Sun).

Kimberly Guilfoyle has lost her ambassador job, but her name still carries a six-figure price tag on the speaking circuit. The former Fox News personality is listed for appearances costing between $50,000 and $100,000 after she left as U.S. ambassador to Greece amid allegations of financial misconduct, which she denies. Whether anyone is paying those rates is another question. The listing offers a glimpse of her potential earning power, but it doesn't show that she's booked a single six-figure engagement.
Papadakis Press/MEGA
According to her Speaker Booking Agency profile, Guilfoyle is available for speaking engagements, corporate appearances, virtual events, moderated discussions, and meet-and-greets. The page displays a speaking-fee range of $50,000 to $100,000 and lists West Palm Beach, Florida, as her departure point.
That puts the advertised upper limit for one appearance at the same dollar figure as the American Express payment at the center of the controversy surrounding her diplomatic career. The two amounts concern separate matters. One is a public booking estimate, while the other involves disputed allegations about a donor's financial dealings with her.

Who plays on 'Monday Night Football' tonight? Time, TV channel, schedule, live stream for NFL Week 6 game originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The story for the 49ers entering the season was injuries, right down to head coach Kyle Shanahan. The story since the start of the season has been success.
While injuries certainly have been a factor for the 'Niners, from Nick Bosa to De'Zhaun Stribling and Deebo Samuel, Shanahan's group has found a way to thrive in spite of them. After the 49ers won in Seattle in Week 5, the NFC West could just be a race for second behind San Francisco.
On the other side of the country, the Commanders have managed just one win in five games. That doesn't mean they have four losses, though. Washington settled for a tie in Week 5, after a disastrous final sequence that largely remains unexplained. Coach Dan Quinn said after the game that it felt like a loss, and it's hard to argue with that.
Going on the road and handing the 49ers their first loss would unquestionably be a win, though. The upset-minded Commanders are hoping to channel last weekend's frustration and leave the west coast feeling like they can compete in a wide-open NFC East race.

Joe Mazzulla declares Payton Pritchard will be key to Jayson Tatum-led Celtics' success originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
When you lose a key player in the offseason, the question remains: who fills that production hole? The Boston Celtics do not seem to worry about this conundrum at all. With Jaylen Brown gone, they have filled all the gaps by committee. Hugo Gonzalez and Baylor Scheierman get to play both ends with hustle. Paul George still has that fringe NBA All-Star quality and can shoot the lights out. However, Coach Joe Mazzulla is looking at a key player. It's none other than Payton Pritchard. The Celtics head coach has all the belief in their guard and even noted specific traits that will make him helpful to the squad led by Jayson Tatum.
For a long time, a few monoliths have described Payton Pritchard. He's been seen as the Celtics' offensive spark plug, or the guy you give the ball to in the clutch. Now, he will be up for bigger roles in Coach Joe Mazzulla's system due to the Jaylen Brown trade.
There are obviously a lot of doubts about Pritchard. Much of it stems from the fact that he's an undersized guard and the running belief that he could be a defensive liability. Coach Mazzulla does not think that way at all. In fact, the Celtics head honcho outlined what made their veteran guard special. Those same traits could also make a big difference on a team centered around Jayson Tatum, according to Jay King of The Athletic.
"He just plays with a chip on his shoulder, but doesn't have an ego. And I think that's a balance that's difficult for people to be able to have. Like, if you tell him he's starting, if you tell him he's coming off the bench, if you tell him he's playing 20 (minutes), if you tell him he's playing 30, the chip on his shoulder never changes. He doesn't need the affirmation to be an elite competitor. And so I think a coach that gives you the freedom to just do what makes the most sense at that particular time," the Celtics head coach declared.

As The Stein Line first reported last Sunday, however, Orlando's Anthony Black is not expected to join that group after scant discussion between the sides to this point. The Magic remain big fans of the 22-year-old and don't want to trade him, league sources say, but Orlando also knows that its payroll can't withstand another pricey long-term deal with Paolo Banchero, Franz Wagner, Jalen Suggs and Desmond Bane all on long-term pacts and each of them making between $32.4 million (Suggs) and $41.8 million (Wagner) this season.

After the false start and the worst start, Michael Carrick ******* ounced it a fresh start. Manchester United have their fewest wins in their opening seven league games of a campaign for 40 years – just the one – and have not tasted victory in six matches in all competitions. Their manager nevertheless emerged from consecutive away games that brought defeat to Atletico Madrid and a draw at Leeds appearing more upbeat about their prospects.
"I understand the situation doesn't look too good if you look at it from a certain way, but I got no doubts that we can go on a good run," he said. That certain way could involve referencing results or the league table; seven games in, the club who finished third last season are already nine points adrift of the top three.
Carrick believes he has detected a good feeling around his squad, whether or not it stems from Lisandro Martinez's public criticism of director of football Jason Wilcox. "I felt like [it was] a bit of a fresh start today and where we're at, and accepting it and doing something about it," he said. Perhaps not doing enough about it, given the result was exactly the same – a 1-1 draw – as in their previous two league games.

If there is improvement in Carrick's camp, it has come from a low bar. And, in fairness, the performances in the intimidating atmospheres of the Metropolitano and Elland Road are not among United's four worst this season – Hull, Manchester City, Brighton, Tottenham – but, again, that is scarcely a compliment.

Carolina Panthers QB Bryce Young completed 20 of 39 passes for 281 yards with two touchdowns in a Week 6 win over the Philadelphia Eagles. He also ran three times for six yards.
SOURCE: USA TODAY
Why It Matters: So far in 2026, Young certainly doesn't look like the quarterback who got benched last season. He has surpassed 280 yards passing in all five of his outings this season (he entered the season with four such games in his career). Young now has 11 touchdown passes against two picks this season and is a strong QB2 at this point, even against an improving Tampa Bay defense in Week 7.

Michael Carrick has admitted Manchester United's situation "doesn't look great" after a 1-1 draw at Leeds, but insisted the performance at Elland Road felt like a "fresh start" for his side.
United have collected just seven points from their sevenPremier League games and have won only once in seven matches in all competitions. They sit in the bottom half and are still waiting for a first win since August.
A single league win after seven games is the club's fewest victories at this stage of a top-flight season since 1986-87.
Carrick did not hide from the numbers, but he backed his squad to turn things around.
"We are not accepting that everything's great, but sometimes you do struggle and you have to find a way through it. I understand the situation doesn't look great but I have no doubts we can go on a good run."
