Some of the world's best riders are ready to take on Welsh roads as the Tour of Britain Women comes to Wales for two days.
The biggest women's road cycling race in the UK, which began in ***** bria on Wednesday and ends in Warwickshire on Sunday, 23 August, is taking place across five stages for the first time, with two of them in Wales.
Stage three will see riders tackle a 104.7km route from Mold to the iconic Great Orme in Llandudno, then on Saturday they travel 138.3km from Llanidloes to Hay-on-Wye for stage four, with both stages promising a challenging weekend of racing.
It will be the first time Mold has hosted the start of a stage and the first time the area has hosted the women's race, with Flintshire having previously welcomed the men's Tour.
Powys will again welcome riders to its roads on Saturday, having hosted stages of both the women's and men's races in the area since 2010.

On August 17, Uber Technologies (NYSE:UBER) announced a partnership with drone delivery company Zipline to bring autonomous drone delivery to Uber Eats customers across the United States, alongside a strategic investment in the company. The deal is Uber's second major drone bet after last year's tie-up with Flytrex, and it lands as the ride-hailing giant tries to convince investors its business is stronger than its stock price suggests. Shares are down roughly 9% this year even as revenue, profit, and user growth have all moved in the right direction.
Uber's core business kept expanding through the second quarter. Monthly active platform consumers climbed 16% year over year to 208 million, and trips rose 18% over the same period. CEO Dara Khosrowshahi told shareholders that Uber added more first-time users over the past 12 months than in any period over the previous five years, a sign the platform is still finding new riders rather than just retaining old ones. Gross bookings, the total dollar value spent across rides, delivery, and freight, jumped 24% year over year to $58 billion in the second quarter, and management is guiding for at least $58.3 billion in the third.
Delivery is doing much of the heavy lifting. The segment's revenue grew 28% year over year in the second quarter, compared to just 1% growth in transportation, and delivery now accounts for more than a third of total sales. That momentum is why the Zipline partnership matters. The companies are targeting 1 million drone deliveries per day by the end of 2029, with the first flights beginning later this year in Zipline's existing US markets before expanding to dozens of additional cities. Zipline already operates on four continents, has completed 2 million deliveries, and was valued at $7.6 billion after raising $800 million earlier this year, a well-funded partner rather than an unproven startup.
Uber is chasing a similar playbook with autonomous vehicles. Self-driving cars are already active in seven cities on the platform, and Khosrowshahi said that could more than double to 15 by the end of 2026, backed by roughly $10 billion Uber plans to deploy to help its autonomous partners scale over the next few years.
None of this has translated into the stock price. Uber shares are down about 9% year to date, even as the fundamentals have moved in the opposite direction. When a company's results improve while its stock falls, it usually means investors are pricing in risks that have not shown up in the numbers yet.

Uber (UBER) is one of those stocks that honestly generates strong opinions from everyone. From drivers, riders, regulators, and investors, because most of us have interacted with its variety of services at some point.
But for shareholders, the point is not whether Uber is popular or controversial. The real point is whether the business is compounding.
Jim Cramer clearly revealed his position on Monday, Aug. 17, in the "Mad Money" Lightning Round.
"I do say Uber is one great long-term stock. I am not backing away from that. The stock is turning here at 22 times earnings," Jim Cramer said.
I am a buyer of Uber, not a holder, not a seller.

MOOSIC, PA(WBRE/WYOU)-- The Charlotte Knights score twice in the first, third, and fourth innings to take an early lead and not look back. Life insurance can cost less than a family streaming subscription or more than a mortgage payment. The difference usually comes down to the applicant, the amount of coverage, and whether the policy lasts for a set term or the rest of your life.
A healthy, nonsmoking 30-year-old woman paid an average of $23.10 per month for a $500,000, 20-year term policy in October 2025, according to the Policygenius Life Insurance Price Index. A man of the same age, health classification, and coverage paid an average of $29.56 per month.
Whole life coverage is substantially more expensive. Policygenius estimated the average cost of a $500,000 whole life policy at $408 per month for a 30-year-old woman — nearly 18 times more expensive than a 20-year term policy with the same death benefit.
Keep in mind that rates can differ significantly from person to person. Policy details, including the death benefit, term length, and any optional riders, can also drive up the price.

Charlotte Knights 9, Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders 8 (10 innings)
The Knights (65-56) struck first in the second inning. Edgar Quero led off with a double, and Caden Connor drove him in for a quick 1-0 edge. Shane Smith, still lost, flooded the basepaths with traffic in the bottom half and let the RailRiders swipe the lead right back. Jairo Iriarte took over in the third and immediately served up a two-run homer. By the fifth, Tanner McDougal was getting shelled for four unearned runs, and Charlotte was buried, 8-1. Ouch.
Apparently, though, the Knights offense wasn't interested in going quietly. Charlotte finally came alive with three runs in the eighth, highlighted by a two-run bomb from Junior Perez and four walks, before erupting for four more tallies in the ninth. Mario Camilletti delivered the big blow with a bases-clearing double, and Andy Weber added an RBI single to complete the surge and knot things at 8-8. Jaden Woods kept the RailRiders off the board in the ninth to send it to extras, where Rikuu Nishida started at second as the ghost runner. Michael Turner moved him to third with a ground out, and Ryan Galanie brought him home with a sacrifice fly for the 9-8 lead. Garrett Schoenle handled the bottom of the 10th, working around a walk to finish off a remarkable comeback win for the Knights.

Riders are risking their lives in races where organisers battle huge costs, and cycling's world governing body the UCI "cannot keep traffic off the roads", according to former rider and team boss Jonathan Vaughters.
Britain's Fin Tarling, 19, died during the Volta a Portugal on Friday following a high-speed collision with a van which had strayed on to the closed road.
A Go Fund Me page to promote young cycling talent has been set up in memory of Tarling, who rode for the NSN Cycling Development Team and was brother to Netcompany-Ineos' Josh Tarling.
Vaughters, who is co-founder and boss of the EF Education-Easypost World Tour team told BBC Sport: "What I'm really not enjoying is this sentiment that's coming from very powerful people in cycling, that says: 'What can you do? Sometimes cars just end up on the road - this is just part of doing competitive sport on the open road.' That is not true. This is preventable."
He added: "People look at the Tour de France and see a bunch of riders going through the beautiful French countryside, but fundamentally it's a very dangerous sport. From the start of my career I can't tell you how many people we've lost."

Mayla Herrick entered the Women's Pro Motocross series with a lot of anticipation. Kept out of the field in the first two rounds because of her age, she debuted in the High Point National and won on her 17th birthday while the two riders who have dominated the ladies' series, Lachlan Turner and Charli Cannon, finished further down the running order than usual.
Turner was third in Moto 1; Cannon was fifth.
But Herrick did not have the opportunity to capitalize on her debut victory. She crashed in heavy traffic on the start of Moto 2, necessitating a red flag, and was carted off the track by the medical crew with a concussion.

England white-ball captain Harry Brook has spoken about the criticism he received during his only Indian Premier League (IPL) season with Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2023, saying he was caught up in scrutiny on social media.

Brook scored 190 runs in the 2023 season despite making a century against Kolkata Knight Riders. His form dropped after that innings, and he came under pressure over his performances.

Looking back at that period, Brook said the attention around his IPL campaign affected him both on and off the field.

"I got into a little bit of a rabbit hole with scrutiny and social media when I was at the IPL," Brook told BBC Sport. "It didn't help me as a person on the field or off the field. I decided to, not stay away from social media, but also not go out of my way to look at it."

Brook said he now tries to view criticism differently, arguing that scrutiny can also show that people care about his performances.

"On the other hand, I actually feel it's a little bit of a compliment if people are giving me scrutiny and have an opinion about my game. I know it's not a nice thing to see people slagging you off, but it means people care and people think I can put in a better performance than I have done that day," he said.

Before his century against KKR, Brook had been criticised for his performances and said he was pleased to "shut up" supporters who were "slagging me off".

Brook has not returned to the IPL since that 2023 season. He was released by SRH before Delhi Capitals signed him for Rs 4 crore in 2024. He then withdrew from the 2024 season following the death of his grandmother.

DC bought Brook again for Rs 6.25 crore at the 2025 mega auction, but he pulled out of the tournament to prioritise his international commitments.

Brook was subsequently handed a two-year IPL ban under the BCCI's rules. He is eligible to return to the league at the 2028 mega auction.

Chennai Super Kings are preparing for a significant transition after the end of Stephen Fleming's 18-year ***** ociation with the franchise, and former India opener K Srikkanth believes Michael Hussey could be the ideal man to take the team forward. Fleming's departure has left CSK searching for a new head coach for the first time in nearly two decades. The former New Zealand captain joined the franchise as a player in the inaugural IPL season in 2008 before taking over as head coach in 2009.

Over the next 17 years, Fleming became one of the central figures behind CSK's identity, guiding the franchise to five IPL ***** les and two Champions League T20 trophies. His exit comes after CSK missed the playoffs for three consecutive seasons.

Fleming has since taken up a new challenge, being appointed England's Test head coach, replacing Brendon McCullum.
As speculation grows over Fleming's successor, former India and CSK player Ravichandran Ashwin recently suggested that former England white-ball captain Eoin Morgan could be among the names in contention. Srikkanth, however, has firmly rejected that possibility.

"I won't go for Eoin Morgan for sure. He was a good player and a good captain for England. But as a coach, I won't accept him as an option. Even for KKR as their captain, he didn't do anything great. It'll be best if he just sticks to commentary," said Srikkanth, speaking on his YouTube channel.

He also advised CSK against considering Brendon McCullum, who previously coached Kolkata Knight Riders and guided them to the IPL final in 2021.

"It'll be good for CSK if they don't appoint Brendon McCullum as the head coach. They should say no to both Morgan and McCullum," he added.
Instead, Srikkanth believes CSK already have a familiar figure within their ecosystem who could seamlessly step into the role. His choice is former CSK opener Michael Hussey, who has previously worked with the franchise as a batting coach.

"CSK don't need anyone from outside when they have Mr Cricket with him. Michael Hussey should be the automatic head coach. He will be the best choice," Srikkanth said.
The coaching vacancy is only one part of a much bigger transition facing CSK. The franchise's most successful era was built around the close partnership between Fleming and MS Dhoni, with the duo forming the tactical and cultural backbone of the team for years.

Dhoni's future is another major question for the franchise, particularly as CSK look to build around captain Ruturaj Gaikwad and a younger core. Srikkanth himself believes that issue needs to be settled before the franchise can properly determine its next coaching structure.

"But what will MS Dhoni's place in CSK be going forward? That arrangement has to be fixed first, and only then will everything else fall in place," he said.

That could prove to be the most important decision of CSK's transition.

The owners of Indian Premier League side Kolkata Knight Riders would be interested in buying a stake in a new Hundred franchise if the competition expands.
Knight Riders Group (KRG) were among those involved in the bidding when the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) auctioned off stakes in the eight franchises last year.
KRG were in the running for Trent Rockets, who eventually sold a 49% stake to Cain International - the investment firm founded by Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly and British businessman Jonathan Goldstein - for just under £40m.
BBC Sport understands senior KRG officials decided not to progress with their interest because they felt the franchise was slightly overvalued.
However, they would consider returning to the table again if The Hundred expands from eight franchises to 10.

Drivers caught speeding, using illegal number plates and creating excessive noise have been targeted in a police road safety operation.
During roadside checks in Plymouth on 6 August, Devon and Cornwall Police identified seven vehicles with illegal number plates. Two drivers were caught speeding on West Hoe Road, while six were found exceeding the limit on Millbay Road and three on Durnford Street.
Seven motorcyclists had bikes fitted with illegal exhausts that created excessive noise. The riders have been given a week to fit legal exhaust systems and pass a further MoT test, officers said.
The action followed concerns from residents about antisocial driving, said police.
Police said several vehicles failed to stop when signalled by officers.

NEW BERLIN, New York: Lachlan Turner overcame a modest start to move into the lead on the second lap of the WMX Moto 2 in the Unadilla National. Along with her win on Friday, Turner swept the motos and extended her winning streak to 10 races after going eight-for-eight in the Australian WMX series.
Charli Cannon also had to come through the pack after starting outside the top five. She passed several riders in the opening laps and once she got into second around Taylah McCutcheon for second, she managed to hold the leaders pace.
Mayla Herrick scored her first overall podium in the WMX series with finishes of fourth in Moto 1 and third in the second moto. Her highly anticipated WMX debut in High Point ended with a crash and concussion in Moto 2 after she won the first race.
Jordon Jarvis overcame a modest start in back-to-back races. On Friday, she got some help after multiple riders crashed on the tricky track. Jarvis finished third in that race, but could only manage to climb to fourth in Unadill's Moto 2. She finished fourth after losing the overall podium on the tiebreaker (best finish in Moto 2).
Mikayla Nielsen rounded out the top five in Moto 2.

NEW BERLIN, New York: Hunter Lawrence took the lead on Lap 1 and rode uncontested to the checkers and add three points on Jett Lawrence in the 2026 Pro Motocross championship. Hunter expanded his advantage to 15 points with five motos remaining.
Jett was pinched on the start and got a modest start in fourth. He made short work of Eli Tomac on the opening lap and set his sights on Haiden Deegan in second. On Lap 3, Deegan slammed the door on Jett, who attempted to take the inside groove away from the rookie. Jett fell to sixth, passed two riders quickly, and then renewed his battle with Deegan.
Jett took third away from Deegan on Lap 7. Until today, Jett Lawrence had never lost a moto at Unadilla.
Jorge Prado settled into second after passing Deegan on Lap 5, but he lost a ton of time in lapped traffic. Jett took the position from Prado with two laps remaining and salvaged two points.
Deegan earned his second holeshot of the season and led the opening lap. He nearly crashed at the beginning of the second lap, which allowed Hunter to take advantage.

Political promises of "free buses" in New York City are contributing to a spike in fare evasion that is costing the city's mass transit system millions of dollars, transit officials warn.
In July, Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) Chairman Janno Lieber blamed political rhetoric for fueling fare evasion, though he never mentioned Mayor Zohran Mamdani by name.
"There's a trend that broke out," Lieber told reporters following a meeting of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority board, according to the New York Post. "With malice towards none, I say all of the talk of free buses, it has an impact."
The MTA reported that paid bus ridership fell nearly 8% in June compared to the same month last year. During Mamdani's first six months in office, bus fare revenue fell by $31 million compared to the first half of 2025. Agency estimates show nearly half of bus riders now skip the $3 fare.

Lyft (LYFT) finally gave something to its investors: constant growth along with increasing profitability. Lyft reported another better-than-expected quarter, pushing the number of active riders above 30 million for the first time and setting a record of gross bookings at $5.5 billion.
These numbers allowed LYFT stock to reach its peak in the last six months, although still being over 30% below the 52-week high. However, the improving fundamentals of Lyft do not settle the largest debate about the stock. The ***** ysts are divided over the question of autonomous vehicles (AVs), with one group considering Lyft's partner strategy as an advantage and the other believing that Lyft's smaller size makes it more vulnerable than Uber Technologies (UBER).

Cayden Wallace broke the game open with a first-inning grand slam, and the Rochester Red Wings rode a four-homer night to a 13-5 victory over the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders on Friday at PNC Field.
Rochester (66-44) sent nine men to the plate in the opening inning and scored six times. Phillip Glasser and Yohandy Morales scored on consecutive bases-loaded walks by Riley Adams and Sam Petersen before Wallace drove a grand slam to left field for his third homer of the season.
The RailRiders trimmed the deficit to 6-2 on Anthony Volpe's two-run homer in the third, but Rochester answered in the fourth. Wallace singled, advanced on a walk and hit-by-pitch, then scored when Seaver King reached on a forceout.
Morales extended the lead with a solo homer to left-center in the fifth, his 22nd of the season. Maxwell Romero Jr. followed with a solo shot in the sixth, his fourth homer in the last three games, to push Rochester's advantage to 9-3.
The Red Wings added four insurance runs in the ninth. Romero's two-out single scored Trey Lipscomb, and Leandro Pineda followed with a three-run homer to right-center that scored Wallace and Romero.

Aug. 6—GRAND FORKS — The start of high school football in North Dakota is approaching rapidly.
Grand Forks Red River and Grand Forks Central both took the first major step toward Week 1 Thursday morning.
The Knights and Roughriders each held their first full preseason practice on a breezy, sunny day in Grand Forks. Red River practiced next to Cushman Field, while Central worked through drills at the practice field next to Purpur Arena.
"You go through so much in the offseason that when Day 1 finally rolls around, you're wondering, 'Did we do this, this and this?'" Knights head coach Jake Schauer said. "But it's just great to be back out here with the guys, a good crew that really knows how to work. We're excited for the season."
Both Grand Forks teams made the North Dakota Division AA playoffs in 2025 and lost in the quarterfinals. The Riders (4-6) suffered a 20-6 defeat to Minot North, while the Knights (7-3) were beaten 42-7 by the eventual state champion, Devils Lake.

Former India captain Ajinkya Rahane has picked Sachin Tendulkar as the greatest Indian cricketer of all time, shortly after bringing the curtain down on his playing career.

Rahane, who recently announced his retirement from all forms of cricket during an episode of Stick to Cricket, was asked to name India's greatest-ever cricketer. While acknowledging that the choice was far from straightforward, the former batter eventually settled on Tendulkar.

"I think it's very hard to take one name but… probably Sachin Tendulkar. I think all the eras," Rahane said.

Tendulkar enjoyed a remarkable international career that stretched across 24 years, representing India from November 15, 1989, to November 16, 2013. During that period, he featured in 664 international matches, including 200 Tests, 463 ODIs and one T20I.

The batting icon scored 15,921 runs in Tests, 18,426 in ODIs and 10 in T20Is, finishing as the highest run-scorer in the history of both Test and ODI cricket. He also remains the only player to have appeared in 200 Test matches and holds the record for the most ODI appearances.

Tendulkar was a central figure in India's triumphant 2011 ICC Men's ODI World Cup campaign, adding the coveted trophy to an already glittering career.

As captain, he led India in 25 Tests, registering four wins, nine defeats and 12 draws. In ODIs, Tendulkar captained the side in 73 matches, winning 23, losing 43, with one tie and six no-results.

Rahane made his international debut in a T20I against England at Manchester on August 31, 2011, and went on to represent India across all three formats between 2011 and 2023.

The Mumbai batter had the opportunity to share the dressing room with Tendulkar on multiple occasions. He played one Test alongside the legendary batter for India and had earlier been his teammate at Mumbai Indians during the 2009 IPL season, apart from representing Mumbai together in domestic cricket.

Across a career spanning more than 12 years, Rahane played most of his international cricket under MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli. He was a key member of India's historic 2018-19 Test series-winning squad in Australia before captaining the team to another memorable series victory there in 2020-21.

Rahane also joined an exclusive list of Indian cricketers to captain the national side in all three formats. He finished his career with Test centuries in Australia, England and New Zealand, while representing six IPL franchises: Mumbai Indians, Rajasthan Royals, Rising Pune Supergiants, Delhi Capitals, Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings.

When Anthony Volpe reports to the Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders, manager Shelley Duncan anticipates the shortstop to see some action at second base and possibly third base.
"There's a good chance of that," Duncan said. "We'll see when he gets here. Us as an organization, we'll have a plan in place for him. Anthony will be a part of that plan. We'll move forward accordingly for what's best for him and what's best for the organization."
Volpe, Jasson Domínguez, and Max Schuemann were all sent down by the Yankees on Monday following the fallout of the Trade Deadline and the promotion of top prospect George Lombard Jr. Schuemann arrived and played for the RailRiders on Wednesday night. Duncan expected Volpe and Dominguez to join the team by Friday; they had 72 hours to report.
The trio will be joining an already-good RailRiders squad. Despite having their eight-game winning streak snapped Wednesday with an 8-1 loss to the Rochester Red Wings at PNC Field, the RailRiders are in first place in the International League second-half standings with a 23-10 record, one-half game ahead of the Durham Bulls. Overall, the Yankees' Triple-A affiliate is 60-47. They are one of four teams in the 20-team league with 60 or more wins. Rochester has 64, the St. Paul Saints 63, and first-half champion Memphis Redbirds 62. During the RailRiders' six-game series sweep at Iowa last week, they batted .343 with 79 hits, including 11 home runs, and outscored the Cubs, 50-18.
Heading into Thursday's action, the RailRiders rank fourth in the IL in home runs with 152. On the mound, they rank first in ERA (4.14), hits allowed (774), runs allowed (492), earned runs allowed (423), WHIP (1.33), and opponents' batting average (.227). They're also tied for first in shutouts (7), rank second in home runs allowed (104), and tied for third in saves (29).

TOURNON-SUR-RHONE, France (AP) — Mauritian rider Kim Le Court-Pienaar won the sixth stage of the Women's Tour de France in a sprint to the line on Thursday, while Marlen Reusser kept the race leader's yellow jersey.
Le Court-Pienaar attacked from 300 meters out and held off Frenchwoman Cedrine Kerbaol and Dutchwoman Puck Pieterse, who was third. Le Court-Pienaar lay on her back in a mixture of exhaustion and elation as she savored her victory after winning in about four hours.
The Swiss rider Reusser maintained her overall lead of 12 seconds from Dutchwoman Demi Vollering, with Poland's Katarzyna Niewiadoma-Phinney, 1 minute and 17 seconds behind in third.
Two-time Giro d'Italia winner Elisa Longo Borghini jumped up a couple of places to fourth overall to move into outside contention for the ******* le at 2:28 back. Le Court-Pienaar was ninth at 3:26 behind while defending champion Pauline Ferrand-Prévot of France was 15th.
Stage six took riders on a 153-kilometer (95-mile) route featuring five modest climbs and one tricky category 2-level climb — the third-hardest category in the race — before a downhill dash to Tournon-sur-Rhône in the Ardèche region of south-central France.

Where to watch Tour de France Femmes 2026: Full schedule, stages, times, TV channels, live streams for women's race originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The top women's cyclists in the world will race for the yellow jersey as the Tour de France Femmes returns for a fifth edition.
The 2026 race consists of nine stages that will take the riders from Lausanne, Switzerland to the ultimate finish line in Nice. This will be the longest Tour de France Femmes yet, covering 1,175 kilometers (730 miles) and featuring a finish atop the iconic Mont Ventoux.
The reigning champion is Pauline Ferrand-Prevot of France, who was known primarily as a mountain biker before she took a pair of stage wins last year en route to the yellow jersey, but it's fair to say she won't enter as a favorite to repeat.
The Dutch riders, long dominant in the sport, have been strong once again in 2026. Demi Vollering won the Giro d'Italia in June, giving her a victory in all three major week-long stage races after previous triumphs in the Tour de France (2023) and La Vuelta Femenina (2024, 2025). Her veteran countrywoman Anna van der Breggen is also worth watching after podium finishes earlier this year at the Vuelta (third) and Giro (second).

Leandro Pineda, Maxwell Romero Jr. and Sam Petersen each hit their first Triple-A home run, while Jackson Kent allowed one run over 5 2/3 innings as the Rochester Red Wings rolled to an 8-1 win over the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders on Wednesday night at PNC Field.
Kent allowed three hits and struck out five to improve to 8-3 on the season.
The Red Wings took the lead in the third inning. Seaver King singled and Phillip Glasser walked, setting up Trey Lipscomb, who hit a run-scoring single. Riley Adams followed with an RBI single to left, scoring Glasser and extending Rochester's lead to 2-0.
Rochester broke the game open in the fifth. After Petersen walked, Pineda hit a two-run homer to right-center, pushing the lead to 4-0. The blast was Pineda's first Triple-A home run, and Romero followed one batter later with his first Triple-A homer as Rochester stretched the lead to 5-0. Pineda finished with two hits and two RBIs as part of a balanced Red Wings attack that saw five different players drive in runs.
The RailRiders briefly answered when Yanquiel Fernández hit a solo homer in the sixth, but Kent limited the damage to that one run before handing the ball to the bullpen. Jake Bird, Cole Henry and Kyle Nicolas combined for 3 1/3 scoreless innings, allowing just one hit to secure the win.

Riders at the Tour de France Femmes were subject to extra clothing checks before Tuesday's stage following claims some could be using extra padding in their bras to seek an aerodynamic advantage.
A communique from race organizers confirmed the checks after Dutch outlet Wielerflits reported some teams had raised concerns that padded bras could smooth the airflow around the body for the stage four time trial.
"Riders must be to the final checks before the race (bikes and outfit) no later than 10 minutes before their respective start time," the communique said.
"Particular attention will be paid to compliance with article 1.3.032 of the UCI regulations, including non-essential elements and clothing or other items/accessories worn by a rider (including but not limited to helmets, glasses, shoes or in-race communication devices) which could modify riders' morphology."
The UCI defines non-essential elements as "any element which does not have a purpose which is exclusively of clothing or protection, or which is not strictly necessary for the functionality of the clothing, or other item, or accessory".
