The WR spoke to reporters after the Eagles' first training camp practice, and gave some insights into how new OC Sean Mannion is handling the responsibility.
"I think he's doing a tremendous job getting everybody up to speed, helping everybody understand the small details of the offense."
Training camp is a really important time to learn more about a new play-caller, and Smith talked a bit about some of the things he focuses on when working with someone new.
"Biggest thing is understand his flow, how he's going to call it, the new terminology and things like that. I think that's the biggest thing about it — when you kinda don't know what the flow is, you kinda don't know what to expect, you have to grow and learn. So, I think once you get to understanding how he wants to do things, it becomes easy."
The new system that Mannion is installing has been spoken about with excitement from players throughout the offense, from Lane Johnson to Jalen Hurts. The Eagles' QB complimented the OC for how he's teaching the group and his approach.

When Apple reports its fiscal third-quarter results, investors should expect much of the same. iPhone sales should be solid, with the company reportedly seeing a 3% increase in shipments during the quarter and gaining its highest-ever global market share at 20%, according to Centerpoint Research. This should then feed into its high-margin service revenue, which has consistently grown at a mid-teen rate.
Cook leaves Apple as having one of the best business models on the planet, making it easy for its next CEO to get off to a running start. The beauty of Apple is its closed ecosystem, which helps lock in customers. Once someone buys an iPhone, the cost of switching becomes increasingly difficult with each photo taken, subscription bought, and app downloaded. Users then become a part of Apple's huge service revenue machine. Apple is getting a high-margin revenue stream every time someone clicks on a search ad (as it gets a 36% revenue cut from Alphabet's Google), uses Apple Pay, buys cloud storage, or purchases a subscription or app.
Meanwhile, Apple just increased prices for several devices and certain service plans. This should be a nice revenue driver in the coming quarters after Cook leaves, giving incoming CEO John Ternus a solid revenue tailwind as he takes the reins. Ternus will also have time to execute a more comprehensive AI strategy for the company. That said, I wouldn't be surprised if Cook's decision to sit back and not throw huge amounts of money into chasing AI models proves to be a smart one.

Jonah Tong is beginning to string together quality starts with Triple-A Syracuse.
The Mets right-hander pitched five scoreless innings, allowing two hits and two walks while striking out seven batters Thursday night against Rochester.
It was a relatively easy night for Tong, who scattered every baserunner against him. The only inning where Rochester threatened to score was in the fourth when Tong gave up a leadoff double. Tong bounced back to strike out the next three batters.
As SNY's prospect writer Joe DeMayo points out, of Tong's 89 pitches (56 strikes) thrown, the right-hander generated 14 swing and misses and topped out at 97.9 mph.
Over Tong's last six starts, he's pitched to a 3.52 ERA with 32 strikeouts across 30.2 innings.

The semiconductor sell-off has punished investors across the board. Leverage has made the damage far harder to recover from.
The iShares Semiconductor ETF (SOXX) has fallen roughly 25% from its June 22 peak while the Direxion Daily Semiconductor Bull 3X Shares (SOXL), a leveraged ETF, has plunged nearly two-thirds over the same stretch.
The latest slide is part of a chip-stock crash that the rest of the market has largely absorbed.
The leverage unwind intensified overnight after SK Hynix (SKHY) reported earnings, sending South Korea's Kospi (^KS11) down as much as 13% before dip buyers cut the loss to 6%. Goldman Sachs traders still saw buyers stepping into memory stocks, suggesting the rout remains disorderly rather than capitulatory, even as the sell-off triggered a record wave of trading halts.
It would be easy to ******* ume that SOXL should be down three times the SOXX loss of 25%, or 75%. SOXL did not malfunction. The fund is designed to deliver three times the daily return of the NYSE Semiconductor Index.

HENDERSON, Nev. (AP) — Raiders general manager John Spytek didn't hesitate to try to improve the NFL's worst offensive line, a unit that made life miserable last season for quarterback Geno Smith and running back Ashton Jeanty.
He snagged three-time Pro Bowl center Tyler Linderbaum out of Baltimore by handing him the richest contract ever for an interior offensive lineman.
His presence and the return of standout left tackle Kolton Miller, who suffered a season-ending ankle injury after just four games, was a much-needed boost.
So there is genuine hope in Las Vegas the line will be better, but how much is difficult to tell.
"I think last year there was a lot of moving pieces," Miller said. "I think the goal is to have the best five out there, build together, add to it each day, and really build for long-term success. This isn't easy. Coaching O-line takes time and it's a lot of work. It's underappreciated. You can't get too frustrated about it. You've just got to find ways to improve each day."

The Minnesota Twins' game on Thursday took a turn about as large as you will ever see in Major League Baseball.
After six innings, the Twins were getting no-hit by Kansas City Royals starting pitcher Noah Cameron. After nine innings, they were celebrating something called an "ultimate grand slam," which is a walk-off grand slam to erase a three-run deficit, off the bat of Kody Clemens.
They have been only 34 ultimate grand slams in MLB history. Per MLB.com's Sarah Langs, none of the first 33 came from a team that was getting no-hit through six innings.
It was also only the 15th ultimate grand slam with two outs (an ultimate ultimate grand slam), which is more rare than a perfect game. And Clemens was down 0-2 when wood hit ball, making this rarer still. We're basically talking about the kind of home run that 7-year-olds fantasize about while hitting in their backyard.
Cameron allowed his first hit to Ryan Jeffers to lead off the seventh inning, triggering a cheer from a Target Field crowd that had no idea of what was to come. Jeffers took a high changeup and hit dropped an easy single into right-center field.

Cardi B is addressing speculation about having her **** injections reversed.
In a recent clip on Instagram Live, Cardi admitted that she had surgery back in January 2024 to have the injections "reduced." Known for her blunt honesty about her love life and everything else, Cardi shared what procedures she had.
"A lot of y'all keep telling me to go get my a** reduced," Cardi explained. "I don't need to go get my a** reduced, news flash, I did get my a** reduced."
Cardi also said that she "can't just go and lipo my **** because my skin is kinda loose."

Former San Diego Chargers and New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees will officially be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, OH, as a member of the class of 2026 on August 8. Sean Payton, former Saint and Brees' longtime head coach in the Crescent City, was recently announced as the presenter for No. 9 at the enshrinement ceremony.
Although Brees and Payton had their own backgrounds in the NFL before joining forces in New Orleans in 2006, the QB-HC combo cemented their professional legacies within the Superdome at the heart of the Big Easy, delivering a rebirth to Saints football and aiding in the rebuild of a then-broken city.
Following a 3-13 season and a 2005 campaign that saw zero home games played inside of New Orleans following the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, the city and team required a refresh and found just what Louisiana needed in a first-year head coach and a young gunslinger coming off of a brutal shoulder injury. These guys would grow, progress, and build what would become one of the most prolific offenses in modern league history.
The partnership between Brees and Payton quickly sparked a fire for the black and gold while providing a sense of hope for those still suffering from the tragic natural disaster just a year removed. In the pairing's inaugural season in New Orleans, the Saints finished with an 11-5 overall record and made a run to the NFC Conference Championship game. Although the team would ultimately fall short of reaching the ultimate goal of playing in and winning the city's first Super Bowl, this season was simply a foreshadowing of greater things to come.
New Orleans would go on to miss the postseason in both 2007 and 2008 before a magical year in which pigs learned to fly.

We knew Taysom Hill could run and pass, but he proved he could catch on this 45-yard touchdown reception against the Carolina Panthers. That's an easy choice for our New Orleans Saints Play of the Day.
Hill may have scored on this play, but it was Drew Brees' day to remind everyone just how lethal he could be so late in his career. The future Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback cruised to 253 yards and three touchdowns on the afternoon, going 19-of-30 and completing passes to eight different players.
With that said, this play was all Hill's doing. The versatile playmaker ran a crossing route and lost the defender trailing him to get wide open short of the first down marker -- then he cut upfield to pick up 20 yards. A timely block by his teammate Tre'Quan Smith cleared a lane to get Hill to the 5-yard line before the Panthers defense closed in, but he fought through tackles by Tre Boston and Jermaine Carter Jr. for the score. Maxence Lacroix says he has joined "the best club in the world" after completing his move to Chelsea from Crystal Palace.

Bayside High football opened practice July 28 before the sun rose as the Bears begin preparation for their third season playing in the Sunshine State Athletic **** ociation.
Last year, Bayside reached the SSAA Atlantic state playoffs for the second year in a row. It finished the season 3-8 after losing to eventual state champions American Heritage (Delray Beach) in the first round.
"I think we had a rough year. We went to the playoffs and played a really good American Heritage team down there. They're heads and shoulders above where we are. That's kind of our goal to be like them," Bayside head coach Billy Miller said. "We feel like in our program we learn from adversity. That's what allows you to grow. When we're able to do that and apply that to this year, we feel like it's going to pay dividends for us."
Miller said he's been pleased with the offseason program and the work the players have put in. The Bears will be young this season with only a dozen seniors on the roster. Consistency will be the key, according to Miller.
"There were flashes last year where we looked really, really good and then there were times that we just looked like we had never seen a football," Miller said. "We've got to find that consistency and teach kids that come in and stack days. It's easy to be good one time, but it's difficult to be good all the time. That's a learned behavior."

It's training camp season, and Deebo Samuel is still pondering his options (or lack thereof) this NFL season.
Samuel, one of the more high-profile free agents on the market, has long been linked with a return to his old team, the San Francisco 49ers, and the speculation only ramped up after Ricky Pearsall's training camp was interrupted by a flare-up of his posterior cruciate ligament on Wednesday.
During Wednesday's segment of the "Speakeasy" podcast, former Pro Bowler T. J. Houshmandzadeh called on the 49ers to re-sign Samuel, while also reserving a few choice words of caution when it comes to Pearsall.
"Samuel should be on his way. I said this last week," T. J. Houshmandzadeh said.
"I can't count on Ricky Pearsall, that's what I said. I can count on, and I know I can rely on Deebo Samuel. And then this comes out. When you're a receiver and you start having these lower body injuries this early in training camp, first, second day, we're gonna have to monitor this the rest of the season.

Altria Group (NYSE:MO) sells cigarettes, oral nicotine pouches, and vapor products to adult tobacco users in the US. It's the parent of Marlboro, still the country's top-selling cigarette brand. The stock showed up in Donald Trump's disclosed portfolio, and it's easy to see the appeal: over 50 straight years of dividend increases and a business that doesn't move much with the economic cycle.
Altria stock is up around 25% year to date. Over the trailing 12 months, the stock is up about 24%, ahead of the market's 19% gain. Only Philip Morris, up 21% YTD, comes close among the major tobacco names. British American Tobacco and ***** an Tobacco are each up 10%.
Altria's Q1 2026 earnings beat expectations on both lines. Net revenue grew 3.2% year over year mostly from pricing, not volume. Adjusted diluted EPS grew 7.3%, up from 4.4% growth in 2025.
The volume story is also improving. Altria's smokeable segment declined just 4% in Q1 2026, down sharply from a 12% decline a year earlier. On the oral tobacco side, on! PLUS nicotine pouches rolled out nationwide in March and are now in roughly 100,000 stores, covering 85% of the nicotine pouch category by volume. On!'s own volume grew 17.6% year-over-year in Q1, after growing 11% for all of 2025. It's also the first product authorized under the FDA's streamlined pilot review program for oral nicotine pouches.

LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) — The solution to quarterback Caleb Williams' accuracy issues has Chicago Bears coach Ben Johnson bringing up a familiar number.
With training camp underway in his second season, Johnson said he is again expecting a 70% completion rate this year after his third-year quarterback failed to come close to that designated figure last year at 58.1%.
Williams believes he can record a higher percentage without flat-out predicting he'll approach the magic number.
Achieving it will require something he didn't do in his first two seasons, after being the No. 1 pick of the 2024 draft and then leading Chicago to an NFC North **** le in 2025.
"Just hit the easy ones when they're there," Williams said. "Be in rhythm with myself. Be confident in my guys, be confident within the play. Deliver a good ball. Deliver a catchable ball.

Giuliana Rancic is not holding back as she says all the details on her former relationship with ex Jerry O'Connell after he recently admitted to being a "pretty terrible boyfriend."

Playing in the Big Ten Conference isn't easy. In fact, the Big Ten has been at the top of the college football landscape in each of the last three seasons. With a league full of talent, if you have a difficult schedule or lack roster talent at important positions, you can be in store for disappointment.
These four teams could fall short of expectations in 2026.

This is pretty simple, really. After going undefeated and winning the national **** le, Indiana can only go down. The chances of the Hoosiers repeating their 2025 dominance are thin at best.

Andy: Ndiaye is really the only player we have who gets fans out of their seats. He runs at defences and causes panic. He is great at winning the ball back in the opposition half. He links up well with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall. Could he score more? Yes, but as our forwards are no real threat, he gets double or triple-teamed regularly. I'd like him to stay, but since he won't sign a new contract I would reluctantly sell.
Stephen: £70m is far too low with the length left on his contract, we should be looking easy £100m.

Packers edge rusher Micah Parsons is making good progress in his rehab from a torn ACL, but it continues to sound like he will not be ready to play at the start of the season.
While General Manager Brian Gutekunst told reporters that he's open to the possibility of Parsons coming off the active/physically unable to perform list before the end of training camp, it doesn't seem like that's going to happen.
"Yeah, I'd like to have enough flexibility to leave the door open. But that would be unlikely, just from a timing perspective," Gutekunst said in his Wednesday press conference. "We've invested a lot in him, so we want to make sure he's ready to go before we even think about putting him out there."
That being said, Parsons has made plenty of progress since suffering the injury in December.
"I may have mentioned it before, but he's a little bit of a genetic freak, so things come pretty easy to him," Gutekunst said. "Again, he's still, obviously, got a long ways to go. These are major injuries, so as you go through these things and how hard they have to work to get back, there's always going to be little setbacks here and there. But he's doing great right now."

With less than a week remaining before Major League Baseball's trade deadline, the Los Angeles Dodgers have emerged as the betting favorites to land one of the game's premier pitchers.
According to the latest odds released by BetOnline Sports & Casino, the Dodgers are the favorites to acquire Detroit Tigers ace Tarik Skubal if the reigning American League Cy Young Award winner is dealt before the Aug. 3 trade deadline. Los Angeles is listed at 3/2 (+150), ahead of the New York Yankees at 5/2 (+250) and the Milwaukee Brewers at 3/1.
Whether Skubal is actually available remains one of the biggest questions leading up to the deadline. The Tigers remain in contention and have shown little public willingness to move the 29-year-old left-hander, who has established himself as one of baseball's most dominant starting pitchers. But should Detroit decide to entertain offers, oddsmakers believe the Dodgers are the most likely destination.
It would be easy to understand why.
The Dodgers have once again positioned themselves among the National League's elite, but adding another frontline starter has long been viewed as a potential priority for president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman. A rotation featuring Skubal alongside Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Tyler Glasnow, Blake Snell and Shohei Ohtani—when fully stretched back into pitching duties—would give Los Angeles arguably the deepest and most talented staff in baseball entering October.
