Prosecutors in the 2Pac murder trial were asked this week whether they were now considering a potential criminal case against Diddy following the conviction of Duane "Keffe D" Davis.
As previously reported, Davis, 63, was found guilty in Las Vegas court at the top of this week of orchestrating Pac's 1996 drive-by shooting murder. Sentencing is slated for next month, with Davis potentially facing life behind bars.
Diddy, notably, has long denied having anything to do with Pac's murder. However, Davis famously alleged that the Bad Boy Records founder, currently serving out his own sentence at Fort Dix after being convicted on Mann Act violations in an unrelated case, once offered him $1 million to kill Pac. To be clear, he has not been formally accused of a crime in connection with the deadly shooting.

UFC legend Diego Sanchez has been arrested once again.
Sanchez, 44, was arrested and booked Monday at 5:17 p.m. local time in Socorro, N.M. on two charges: aggravated driving under the influence and probation violation, according to online jail records. Local news outlet KOB4 first reported the news.
No further details about the arrest have become available at this time.
Sanchez was sentenced to five years of supervised probation in March after a July 2025 arrest for shooting a loaded gun out of the window of a car while riding in the passenger seat on the highway. Prosecutors had requested a two-year prison sentence for a fourth-degree felony charge of shooting at or from a motor vehicle. A second charge of negligent use of a deadly weapon was dropped as part of a plea agreement.
Following the judge's decision, Sanchez said he accepted responsibility for the incident and pointed to substance abuse issues and mental health problems, both of which he was seeking help for at the time of the incident, as contributing factors.

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Former Fox Sports ****** yst Mark Sanchez plans to plead guilty to charges ahead of a trial stemming from an October 2025 fight with a truck driver outside an Indianapolis hotel, according to court records filed Thursday.
A motion asks for a guilty plea and sentencing hearing for Sanchez in Marion County Superior Court. Online records didn't indicate which charges Sanchez plans to plead guilty to.
Sanchez faces a felony battery charge, along with three misdemeanor charges, for what prosecutors have said was a fight over parking.
The ex-NFL quarterback's jury trial was scheduled to start Tuesday. The trial had been rescheduled five times since it was initially set to begin in December. Sanchez and Fox Sports also face a civil lawsuit filed by the truck driver, Perry Tole.
A police affidavit alleges that Sanchez, smelling of alcohol, accosted Tole, who had backed his truck into a hotel's loading docks in downtown Indianapolis. Tole claims in his lawsuit that Sanchez entered the truck without permission, then physically blocked and shoved Tole, who then doused Sanchez with pepper spray.

Sidney Starr will remain behind bars after the mother of a 13-year-old boy described the severe emotional toll the reality star's alleged actions have taken on her son. A Fulton County judge denied Starr bond on Tuesday, August 25, siding with prosecutors who argued that her limited connections to the Atlanta area and sizable public platform made releasing her a risk while the felony case proceeds.

A defense lawyer representing "manosphere" influencers Andrew and Tristan Tate in Romania said in a court filing Tuesday a new indictment by Romanian prosecutors may be "imminent," possibly adding to the mounting legal troubles the Tates are facing as they remain detained in Florida pending extradition to the United Kingdom.

Eugen Constantin Vidineac, the Tates' defense lawyer in Romania, said in a Tuesday filing in Florida federal court a new Romanian indictment is "imminent," noting he expects prosecutors to issue charges "concerning Andrew in early September 2026."
The Tates were previously indicted in Romania in 2023 on charges of forming an organized crime group and human trafficking, but a judge sent the indictment back to prosecutors in December 2024, saying the case did not meet certain requirements to go to trial.
Vidineac argued the Tates should be released from Florida jail on bail, saying it has been "impossible" to meet with them to discuss their Romanian case.

D4vd has replaced the three prominent private attorneys who had been defending him as his murder case moves toward trial, with the Los Angeles County Public Defender's Office now taking over his representation.
The 21-year-old singer, whose legal name is David Anthony Burke, appeared in Los Angeles Superior Court on Monday, Aug. 31. Blair Berk, Marilyn Bednarski and Regina Peter were permitted to withdraw, while Deputy Public Defender Walid Kandeel stepped in to represent Burke.
Burke then entered not guilty pleas to three charges stemming from the death of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez: murder with special-circumstance allegations, continuous ***** ual abuse of a child under 14 and unlawful mutilation of human remains. The hearing followed a July preliminary proceeding in which Judge Charlaine Olmedo found sufficient evidence for the case to proceed toward trial.
The next status conference is set for Oct. 19, and no trial date has been scheduled. Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman also said prosecutors still have not decided whether to seek the death penalty.
Berk told the court that Burke wanted new representation, and his former attorneys later said the judge granted their request to withdraw after Burke was determined to qualify for appointed counsel, according to Reuters.

Was Jonathan Haidt right all along? Readers of this newsletter—and writers at Reason—are surely divided on this one. On Wednesday of this week, news broke that Meta had reached a humongous $17.1 billion settlement with 47 states and the District of Columbia, forced to pay damages due to child-endangerment claims stemming from its social media algorithms and platforms.
"The owner of Facebook and Instagram agreed to the financial penalties for violating federal child privacy and states' consumer protection laws, the states announced," reports The New York Times. "Meta also agreed to limit how long teenagers can spend on its platforms and to bans on features that stoke mental health issues, striking at the heart of the company's business of engagement for advertising."
"The settlement effectively ends a bellwether federal trial in the U.S. Northern District of California in Oakland, where California, Colorado, Kentucky and New Jersey were seeking roughly $200 billion over accusations that Meta harmed children," adds the Times. Meta, the owner of Instagram and Facebook, at times invoked a Section 230 defense, the "First Amendment of the internet" that makes it so companies don't bear liability for the posts of their users—which Reason has repeatedly defended amid a media landscape that doesn't seem to understand the value of Section 230.
"After years of being barred from suing social platforms, state prosecutors have gotten creative," wrote Reason's Elizabeth Nolan Brown earlier this month about the California/Colorado/Kentucky/New Jersey suit. "They're now claiming that this isn't about user-generated speech but about tech companies' product design. In this case, the states claim that providing photo filters is contributing to teens' body dysmorphia and that 'psychologically manipulative' features like displaying post 'like' counts, sending notifications, and using algorithms to curate content around a user's particular interests are what's keeping kids hooked, not the actual content on Facebook and Instagram. It's a silly claim, since clearly there could be no 'addiction' to social media if not for the content or communications contained on these platforms."
"The attorneys general and plaintiffs say that Meta's algorithms trap its users in the infinite scroll, hours of time spent staring at half-naked influencers or malnourished celebrities, images that breed body dysmorphia, anxiety and depression," reads a different Times article. A federal judge again denied President Donald Trump's legal effort to get his New York state criminal hush money case moved to federal court, a move that could have made it easier to reverse his conviction.
District Judge Alvin ******* erstein said in a ruling Friday that Trump's cited grounds were "neither new nor legally sufficient."
Hellerstein has previously denied Trump's request to move the case, but a federal appellate court ruled last fall that the district court judge must reconsider in light of the landmark presidential immunity ruling in July 2024 from the US Supreme Court.
The judge heard arguments from lawyers for Trump and prosecutors from the Manhattan District Attorney's office at a hearing in February but did not issue a ruling until now. Friday, ******* erstein maintained his position that Trump's acts as charged in the state's case against him were private and unrelated to his federal office.
"The People's prosecution arises from President Trump's private conduct surrounding the reimbursement of hush money payments to an adult film star," ******* erstein wrote Friday. "That conduct, and the challenged evidence, bears no substantive relation to his position in federal office. To consider these facts to be 'relating to' a federal office would give the words a definition that is 'so broad that it is meaningless.'"

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, is warning that subpoenas are on the table if county prosecutors accused of going easy on illegal immigrants who commit crimes do not cooperate.
Jordan's committee is investigating district attorneys for so-called "sanctuary jurisdictions" who have been accused of taking immigration status into account when pursuing criminal complaints, even when the alleged crime has nothing to do with the suspect's legal status.
"If we have to, we'll use subpoenas to get the documents that we think they may not be giving us. There's a process we always go through. We ask for things, we ask again, we explain why, we work with their office — in some cases their counsel — and back and forth," Jordan explained in an interview with Fox News Digital. "And then if we have to use subpoenas, we certainly will do that ... but we want to know the facts."

BROWNSVILLE, Texas (AP) — An Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer charged with shooting a man and lying about it during the immigration crackdown in Minneapolis was released from a Texas jail Thursday, after a judge refused to order his return to Minnesota.
Christian Castro was released at the break of dawn from a detention center in Brownsville. He motioned his hand toward a few camera operators and a reporter crowding around him and quickly got into an SUV that drove off.
A day earlier, U.S. District Judge Fernando Rodriguez Jr. wrote in an order that said he couldn't prevent a county sheriff from releasing Castro or order Texas Gov. Greg Abbott to sign his extradition warrant.
Castro is charged in Minnesota with ***** ault and falsely reporting a crime in the Jan. 14 shooting of 24-year-old Julio Cesar Sosa-Celis.
Castro is accused of firing a gun through the front door of a Minneapolis home, shooting Sosa-Celis in the leg. Prosecutors say Castro also falsely accused Sosa-Celis and another man of attacking an ICE officer with a broom handle and a snow shovel.

PERTH, Australia (AP) — British social media celebrity and rapper Yung Filly can return to Britain before he stands trial in Australia next year on charges of raping a fan, a judge ruled on Thursday.
The 31-year-old Columbian-born entertainer, whose real name is Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, was convicted by a District Court of Western Australia jury last month of ******* aulting a woman in a Perth hotel room in September 2024.
The jury acquitted him on three counts of raping her. But prosecutors said last week they would retry him on another three rape charges on which jurors could not agree.
Barrientos returned Thursday to the court, where Judge Linda Black agreed to change his bail conditions so he can return to London while he waits for his second trial.
Black said although the retrial would be expedited and likely happen in 2027, there could be a delay.

SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — Commissioner Roger Goodell said the NFL is looking into whether San Francisco 49ers owner Jed York will be punished for violating the league's personal conduct policy after he was caught in a prostitution sting in Ohio.
"It's being reviewed under the personal conduct policy," Goodell said Wednesday at the owners' meetings in Atlanta. "We'll do that and when there's something to be reported we'll talk."
York was arrested in a mobile home park by the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force after police said he was attempting to pay $160 for ***** with a woman he believed to be a prostitute.
York was booked into jail and was released after posting a $5,000 bond. York was initially charged with engaging in prostitution, but prosecutors amended that to disorderly conduct. He pleaded no contest to that charge and to possessing criminal tools for using his phone to respond to the an undercover online prostitution advertisement.
He was sentenced to one day in jail for both offenses to be served concurrently and was credited with one day served when he pleaded no contest. He also was fined $1,150. Police seized the $160 from York and that was later given to the human trafficking task force as part of the plea. York also completed an online course.

WASHINGTON (AP) — A legal watchdog says it filed bar complaints on Tuesday accusing U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro and two lieutenants of violating their ethical duties in seeking to charge six Democratic lawmakers with federal crimes for appearing in a video that called on troops to resist unlawful orders.
The Legal Accountability Center's bar complaints, filed in New York and Virginia, claim Pirro and her subordinates, Carlton Davis and Steven Vandervelden, abused their prosecutorial powers to seek "meritless" indictments against President Donald Trump's "perceived political enemies."
Tim Lauer, a spokesperson for Pirro's Washington-based office, noted that it's a grand jury's job — not prosecutors' — to decide whether to hand up an indictment.
"Attempting to weaponize the disciplinary process against prosecutors for doing their jobs amounts to nothing more than a frivolous complaint," Lauer said in a statement.
In February, a grand jury in Washington refused to indict Sens. Mark Kelly and Elissa Slotkin and four House Democrats for urging U.S. service members to follow established military protocols and reject orders they believe to be unlawful. All six lawmakers previously served in the military or at intelligence agencies. Trump accused them of sedition "punishable by DEATH" in a social media post.

Super Micro Computer (SMCI) is moving past another major governance overhang after completing an independent investigation into an alleged Nvidia Corporation (NVDA) chip diversion scheme. On Aug. 20, Super Micro announced that the probe, led by independent directors Scott Angel and Tally Liu and conducted with Munger, Tolles & Olson and forensic consultant AlixPartners, found no evidence that current senior management knew about the alleged diversion scheme or any actual diversion of restricted products. The company also said it found no evidence that Super Micro directly sold export-controlled products to known restricted parties or that its previously issued financial statements could not be relied upon.
The investigation followed the March 19 indictment of two Super Micro employees and a contractor in connection with an alleged scheme of Nvidia-powered artificial intelligence (AI) servers that prosecutors say were diverted to China through intermediaries. York's arrest came after he answered an ad on a known prostitution website in Columbiana County and "arranged to have ******* ual activity with the female in exchange for $140.00," the California Post reported, citing court documents.
He then went to the trailer park to meet up with the woman, and an agent from the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force found York had his cellphone on him "which was used to arrange the criminal act," according to the documents.

MEXICO CITY, Aug 22 (Reuters) - Sinaloa Governor Ruben Rocha, indicted by U.S. federal prosecutors on drug-trafficking, bribery and cartel-protection charges, again ‌requested a leave of absence from office on Saturday, days ‌after defiantly reclaiming his post.
Rocha's return was not well received by either the Mexican government or the ruling Morena party, which accused him of prioritizing his personal interests over those of the public.
Earlier on Saturday, President Claudia Sheinbaum warned on X that "power without principles becomes arrogance" and "no personal interest can ever ‌be above those of the ⁠people or the Nation," intensifying the political firestorm, without directly naming Rocha. Echoing her words, Rocha posted a ⁠statement on X saying that "Sinaloa, the nation, and the transformation movement are above all else."
Rocha, 77, a member of Sheinbaum's Morena party, returned to office on Friday after more than three months on leave following U.S. drug-trafficking charges.
In ‌April, U.S. prosecutors alleged Rocha and nine other current and former officials conspired with a faction of the Sinaloa Cartel known as Los Chapitos, helping it to traffic drugs into the U.S. in exchange for political support and bribes.

AllStar JR has to remain incarcerated as he waits for his federal gun trial to begin at the end of August.
On Tuesday (Aug. 18), U.S. District Judge George C. Hanks Jr. denied the Detroit rapper's motion to amend or revoke an earlier detention order. The one-page order, obtained by Complex, means JR, whose real name is Jeremy Christopher Ford, will remain in federal custody ahead of his trial.
The decision comes after federal prosecutors urged the court last month to reject JR's attempt to secure his release. His legal team had challenged an April decision by a magistrate judge in Michigan ordering him detained while his case proceeds.
Prosecutors argued that JR had not presented new information compelling enough to revisit that ruling and maintained that he represented a danger to the public that couldn't be addressed through release conditions.

Lil Durk was so intent on revenge against Quando Rondo that he turned down a chance for peace, even after the Chicago rapper orchestrated a shooting that was supposed to get Rondo but killed his cousin instead — that's the story federal prosecutors are telling in a new filing.
Durk is days away from being tried for murder-for-hire for the August 2022 shooting that killed Rondo's cousin Saviay'a Robinson — a killing that prosecutors say Durk organized and paid for as revenge for the death of his friend and labelmate King Von. In a filing on Monday (August 17), prosecutors said they have "recently identified" a chain of text messages showing that Durk had been offered a chance to squash his beef with Quando Rondo months after that shooting, but turned it down.
In a trial memorandum, prosecutors explained that they would attempt to prove at trial not only that Durk and his alleged co-conspirators attempted to kill Rondo during the 2022 shooting; they also would show evidence that the conspiracy to get violent revenge continued even after that.
To that end, they plan on introducing at trial an exhibit containing what they say is a text message and voice memo from Durk from December, 2022 "telling his co-conspirators that an affiliate of [Rondo's] reached out to 'squash' the rivalry and ask for 'peace.'"

Hailey Bieber's older sister, Alaia Baldwin Aronow, has entered a pretrial diversion program that can keep her out of jail in the misdemeanor case arising from a 2024 confrontation at a Savannah, Georgia, nightclub.
Prosecutors offered the 33-year-old a place in the program, and she accepted the offer and paid its fee, according to legal documents obtained by TMZ. Court records reviewed by PEOPLE say Aronow must complete classes and may be required to pay fines as part of the arrangement.
The case involves four misdemeanor charges filed in Chatham County on Jan. 26 simple battery, simple ***** ault, battery and criminal trespass. The counts stem from Aronow's Feb. 24, 2024, arrest following an altercation with employees at Club Elan.
A police report accused Aronow of pulling a security worker's hair, striking another guard in the genitals and throwing a tampon at a bartender. Aronow told responding officers she had been forcefully removed from the club and maintained that her actions toward the security workers were in self-defense.
