New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft told Ed Sheeran that he couldn't let Macklemore perform at Gillette Stadium over his stance on Palestine. He has now released a statement explaining why.
The new NFL season is underway, and the New England Patriots started out with a loss against the Seattle Seahawks in a Super Bowl rematch.
However, attention has quickly turned away from the court to start this week. Patriots owner Robert Kraft was named by artist Macklemore as someone who asked Ed Sheeran to not let him perform at the Gillette Stadium.
Now, Kraft has released a statement explaining his side of the issue.

Those concerns included heavy traffic in the area, the distance between the school and the family's home, and that the concern was heightened after an incident that, ***** o magazine reports, "made it difficult for their vehicles to stay in convoy."

With the news that Philadelphia Eagles offensive lineman Landon ******* erson was being placed on IR with a knee injury, ******* erson himself seemed fine with the development — especially since, in the guard's view, he had no business being on the field in Week 1.
In an interview on Philadelphia's 94 WIP radio, which took place very shortly after the IR news landed, ******* erson offered a blunt ******* sment of his play in the Eagles' narrow 24-22 win over the Washington Commanders on Sunday.
"Honestly, (to) address the elephant in the room, I played like sh** yesterday," ******* erson said. "I was a complete liability yesterday and, again, that was my fault … I shouldn't be out there until I feel healthy."
Dickerson said that he got "rolled up on" in practice last month during training camp, but continued to push through the injury. Imaging on Monday confirmed that he had a bone bruise in his right knee.
Dickerson found out that he was being placed on IR while live on air: After being read a report from the Philadelphia Inquirer's Jeff McClane, who was the first to report the news, the Eagles' starting left guard admitted to WIP that he hadn't been officially told, but that he knew it "was kind of the plan."

Bears news: Ben Johnson reveals advice that 'might've stuck' with Caleb Williams appeared first on ClutchPoints. Add ClutchPoints as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The Chicago Bears cut loose for 59 points, lifting Caleb Williams into the MVP conversation. And Dan Orlovsky seems to be warming up to Williams. Perhaps advice from Drew Brees might have stuck with Williams, said Ben Johnson, according to a post on X by Ari Meirov.
"HC Ben Johnson says Caleb Williams told him about advice he got from Drew Brees, who called the game for FOX: the difference between a 60% and 70% completion rate is 3 more completions per game. 'That might've stuck with our guy a little bit,' Johnson said with a smile."
Williams hit on 21 of 29 passes for 269 yards and two scores as the Bears humbled the Panthers, 59-37.

ESPN's Adam Schefter dropped a bombshell just before the Denver Broncos' matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs on "Monday Night Football", reporting that some members of the Broncos staff explored the idea of bringing in former New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees for the AFC Championship Game in January.
Broncos head coach Sean Payton didn't know Denver's then-offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi and offensive ***** istant Pete Carmichael were talking about Brees joining the team after Bo Nix suffered an injury in the Broncos' overtime win over the Buffalo Bills in the Divisional round.
The Broncos were set to turn to backup quarterback Jarrett Stidham to lead the offense against a stiff New England Patriots defense in snowy conditions at Empower Field at Mile High.
Denver wasn't sure if Brees would make the start over Stidham, a 2019 fourth-round pick by the Patriots who had only made four career starts before the AFC championship.
A Broncos source told Schefter that Brees was confident he knew how to win that type of contest.

Moscow is preparing for a final test of a new ballistic missile capable of striking targets hundreds of miles away and potentially maneuvering in ways that could challenge Ukraine's already strained air defenses, a defense ******* yst warned Monday.
The warning comes as Ukrainian military officials said that Russia could conduct the test in the coming months and potentially in live-fire strikes.
"According to our estimates, Russia plans to conduct final tests of a new type of ballistic missile with a range of up to 800 km by the end of this year," Vadym Skibitskyi, deputy head of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU), said at a meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Interparliamentary Council, according to Ukrainian news outlet Ukrainska Pravda.
"If, for instance, this 800-kilometer missile has more advanced maneuverability, well then that's going to create greater problems for Ukraine in that they're going to need the more sophisticated interceptors to get them," Tom Karako, director of the Missile Defense Project at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, told Fox News Digital.

The Cleveland Browns were unable to overcome the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week One of the 2026-27 NFL season, 34-10.
Cleveland's disastrous performance on Sunday afternoon fell on the hands of the offense, as the unit failed to consistently move the ball downfield. This unfortunately forced the defense into brutal field position for most of the contest, which led to Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence's incredible four-touchdown performance.
During his opening remarks to the media following the loss, head coach Todd Monken told reporters that the Browns "didn't execute on the road" the way they expected to this past weekend.
"We didn't execute on the road the way we expected," Monken claimed. "Without really seeing the tape, the obvious issues came in operation, and a couple delay of games and false starts that we thought we cleaned up, but obviously we didn't."
One of the most pressing issues for the Browns' offense on Sunday was the simple line-of-scrimmage operations that Monken stressed for most of the offseason.

Michael Page won significantly more times than he lost in the UFC, yet it still wasn't enough to sway the promotion to keep him around after his contract expired.
The former Bellator superstar entered the UFC with plenty of fanfare in 2024, scoring a clear-cut unanimous decision win against Kevin Holland at UFC 299. Page, 39, styled on Holland in vintage fashion, utilizing his flashy striking skills to outpoint the veteran in a welterweight showdown. As it turned out, though, finishes — or even similarly entertaining performances — failed to materialize in Page's subsequent five UFC appearances.
Despite winning four straight fights, capped off by his fight against Nursulton Ruziboev at UFC Paris, the promotion opted not to re-sign Page without even having a discussion.
Speaking on Monday's edition of "The Ariel Helwani Show," Page vented his frustrations, saying he felt disrespected by the entire close to his UFC run.
"I had goals to achieve, so regardless of anything, I was winning my fights, which says to me you get to stay," Page told Uncrowned. "That's the premise of this game. Success should breed more opportunities. So, I still felt like we'd sit down at the table.

The Detroit Lions may be doing more than simply monitoring the Joey Porter Jr. situation.
According to a new report from Jeff Risdon, Detroit has contacted the Pittsburgh Steelers about the veteran cornerback's availability, potentially turning weeks of speculation into something more tangible.
Risdon said he has been told from the Pittsburgh side that conversations between the teams have taken place.
"I can tell you that I know that the Lions have approached the Steelers," Risdon said on Monday. "I don't know how receptive the Steelers were. I don't know what the Lions offered, if anything. I know that they have talked. I got that from a reliable source from the Pittsburgh side. Will anything happen? I don't know."
That does not mean a trade is imminent. It does mean the Porter-to-Detroit idea may have moved beyond the purely hypothetical stage.

On August 10, Red Violet Inc. (NASDAQ:RDVT) reported second-quarter 2026 results for the period ended June 30 that showed the company converting growth into profit at an accelerating clip. Revenue rose 23% to $26.7 million, and net income nearly doubled to $5 million. For a company built on selling identity intelligence to businesses, watching net margin move from 12% to 19% says that growth is not costing more to produce.
Gross profit climbed 29% to $20.2 million, pushing gross margin to 76% from 72%, while adjusted EBITDA jumped 48% to $11.2 million as its margin widened to 42% from 35%. Adjusted net income rose 58% to $7.2 million. Cash generation told the same story: operating cash flow increased 42% to a record $10.6 million for the quarter. None of that came from adding customers who barely move the needle. Red Violet signed on 447 new IDI customers in the quarter, a company record, ending with 10,869 customers on the platform.
FOREWARN, its product built for real estate agents, picked up 25,493 new users to reach 443,173, and 660 REALTOR ****** ociations across the country are now under contract to use it. The company also closed an underwritten public offering in August that sold 1,916,667 shares, including 250,000 shares from the underwriters' full exercise of their option, generating net proceeds of about $109.0 million. Between the funds already on hand and this new raise, Red Violet says it holds over $160 million in cash and carries no debt, money earmarked for working capital and possible acquisitions.
CEO Derek Dubner called it what he described as "the strongest pipeline of strategic initiatives" in the company's history. The company also repurchased 74,500 shares by June 30, paying $41.87 per share on average, and had $15.5 million left on its buyback authorization.
The August offering that padded Red Violet's cash balance also added 1,916,667 new shares to the count, arriving in the same year that per-share profit is climbing fastest. Diluted earnings came in a penny below basic at $0.34, and adjusted diluted earnings landed at $0.50 versus $0.51 on a basic basis, a gap new shares will only widen going forward. There is also a timing tension worth sitting with: Red Violet spent part of the quarter buying back its own stock at an average of $41.87 a share, then turned around weeks later and sold new shares to the public.

Mets news: Ex-GM drops 'disappointed' admission on NY not re-signing Pete Alonso appeared first on ClutchPoints. Add ClutchPoints as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The New York Mets have the difficult task of facing the man who set their all-time home run record a little more than a year ago. He also happens to be responsible for one of the most famous dingers in recent playoff history. That is not the type of player fans want to see in a different uniform. Beloved first baseman Pete Alonso will return to Citi Field for the first time since inking a five-year, $155 million contract with the Baltimore Orioles last December, and with that big reunion comes endless evaluation and nitpicking.
Former Mets executive Sandy Alderson was running the front office when the organization selected the Polar Bear in the 2016 MLB Draft, so it is no surprise to hear how he feels about New York failing to re-sign Alonso.
"I was disappointed," Alderson told Brian Kenny on MLB Now, one day after being inducted into the Athletics Hall of Fame. "Pete Alonso was drafted by Tommy Tanous, the scouting director at that time, in the second round. Basically a home-run hitter who got on base. And that's what he's been since he came to the big leagues. Let's say his defense is not…. superb. Poor defense doesn't outweigh the kind of homegrown, home-run, impact talent that Pete Alonso can provide.

On September 10, Shoe Station Group (NASDAQ:SHOE) held its first earnings call under its new name, and the numbers told a story of a company still finding its footing. Second quarter net sales fell 7.2% to $284.3 million from $306.4 million a year earlier, with comparable sales down 7.1%. But buried in the report was a sharper signal: August comparable sales improved to a 2.7% decline, a real jump from the second quarter's pace, and management is pointing to store-by-store product changes as the reason why.
Shoe Station's turnaround argument rests on giving up the idea that every store should look the same. Interim CEO Clifton Sifford said the company had been running nearly identical ***** ortments across its stores even though its two banners serve very different customers, and that approach stopped working. The shift already shows up in the numbers. Once the company localized its athletic ***** ortments ahead of back-to-school, adult athletic sales moved from a low single-digit decline in the second quarter to a low single-digit increase in August.
Running shoes comped positive in both men's and women's categories, and men's work boots, a replenishment category with loyal repeat buyers, grew 2%. Management believes this fall's boot lineup is the best it has fielded in years, heading into what Sifford expects to be a bigger nonathletic fashion cycle. E-commerce sales grew 18.8% even as store traffic fell, and in-store conversion actually improved, evidence that customers who show up are buying; they just are not showing up in the same numbers yet. The company also ended the quarter debt-free with $131.6 million in cash, up $39.7 million from a year ago, giving it room to fund the localized rollout without straining the balance sheet.
The flip side is that the entire second quarter was ugly across the board. Shoe Carnival branded stores, still 63% of revenue, saw sales fall 6.5%, while the newly converted Shoe Station banner dropped 8.4%. Gross profit margin fell 690 basis points to 31.9%, a mix of a promotional footwear market and management's decision to accelerate liquidation of aged inventory, trading margin for cash. That combination cut net income to $6.3 million, or $0.23 per diluted share, down from $19.2 million and $0.70 a year earlier.
Management is not projecting relief anytime soon. Sifford said plainly, "We are not ***** uming the environment improves," and CFO Kerry Jackson noted that gross margins in fiscal August were still running below last year's levels at a pace comparable to the second quarter. Full-year gross margin guidance of 32.5% to 32.7% implies 390 to 410 basis points of compression for the year. Store impairment charges reached $6.7 million on 11 stores year to date, and management has already conceded that the core problem is not price, since conversion rates rose while total customer visits kept falling. That points to a marketing and trust problem rather than a demand problem, and fixing it will take more tha

Jalen **** er gave Carolina Panthers fans a scare after his monster Week 1 performance, but his initial injury update sounds encouraging.

That's tremendous news considering **** er somehow played through the injury and proceeded to torch Chicago's secondary.
The third-year receiver caught eight of his nine targets for a career-high 138 yards and two touchdowns, including a 51-yard score from Bryce Young. It was also the first multi-touchdown performance of **** er's career.

Amid the news that Macklemore has been dropped as an opener from Ed Sheeran's North American tour, the rapper has alleged that New England owner Robert Kraft intervened to get him removed.
In a lengthy statement posted on Instagram, Macklemore alleged that Kraft had called Sheeran ahead of the singer's concert at Gillette Stadium, which is owned by Kraft. In what Macklemore called a "f***ed up position" for Sheeran, Kraft allegedly barred Macklemore from performing in the stadium and had "rallied" other stadium owners to issue an "ultimatum."
"Last Monday, in the middle of all the media attention surrounding Pink and what I said at MetLife, Ed told me that Robert Kraft called him," Macklemore wrote. "Ed told me that Kraft said I would not be allowed to perform in his stadium. Ed also told me that Kraft had rallied some of the other stadium owners and collectively they gave him an ultimatum: if Macklemore stays on the tour, you will not be allowed to play in our venues."
Macklemore opened for Sheeran on Sept. 4 and 5 at New Jersey's MetLife Stadium. During his performance, Macklemore called for a "Free Palestine" in a speech before performing his song "Hind's Hall," which was written in support of pro-Palestine protests. The performance drew criticism from many, including singer P!nk, and received a significant amount of media attention.
Macklemore, whose real name is Benjamin Haggerty, has been vocal about his support for Palestine in recent years, something that he said challenged Sheeran's "typical apolitical stance."

VIENNA (AP) — Iran on Monday condemned the exclusion of the head of its Atomic Energy Organization from the annual gathering of the United Nations nuclear agency in Vienna saying that it constitutes "a serious breach" of Tehran's rights as a member nation.
"By obstructing our full and effective participation, the denial of access contravenes both the letter and the spirit of the legal framework" governing attendance at meetings of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Iran's ambassador to the agency, Reza Najafi, told delegates at its general conference.
Najafi criticized Austria, the host country of the IAEA and other U.N. organizations, saying that Vienna's decision not to grant a visa to Mohammad Eslami "violates the host country's obligation."
The Russian ambassador to the U.N. in Vienna, Mikhail Ulyanov, echoed Iran's remarks, saying that Austria had "grossly violated" its obligations as host nation of the IAEA.
Western nations had "unleashed a genuine campaign of visa-related abuses so as to settle scores with countries they deem to be undesirable," he said.

NEW YORK – If there's anyone who knows how to command a room, it's Nene Leakes.
The "Real Housewives" OG brought a little Atlanta to New York Fashion Week, attending Sergio Hudson's spring/summer 2027 show on Sunday, Sept. 13. Hudson brought the glamour to NYFW, hosting his show at one of New York's most iconic venues — the Rainbow Room.
Guests including Mickey Guyton, Muni Long and Sunny Hostin ventured to top of Rockefeller Center for Hudson, but it was Leakes who stole the show. The "Real Housewives of Atlanta" star entered the glittering ballroom moments before the first model took to the runway, but that didn't stop a swarm of photographers and fans from trying to get a snap of the Bravo star. Leakes took her seat next to "Beauty in Black" actress Crystle Stewart as the two posed for front-row photos.
Leakes showed off a classic Hudson creation, donning a bodycon little black dress from the designer's fall-winter '24 collection. The sleeveless LBD featured an extra-long gold zipper extending from the neckline to the hem. The reality star styled the look with black patent pumps and a gold-embellished clutch.
"Me and Nene go way back … When I met her, I was a little ****** ody, and she always treated me really well, so I take care of her, 'cause she always took care of me," Hudson told USA TODAY backstage after his show. "She's a superstar."

Tom Holland and Zendaya are reportedly planning to install a climate-controlled room in one of their several properties to preserve her more than $269,000 wedding gown.
Holland, 30, and Zendaya, 30, said "I do" during an intimate wedding celebration at the Beaverbrook Hotel in Surrey, just outside London, on Aug. 4.
The actress marked the occasion by donning a stunning lace Schiaparelli gown featuring long sleeves and a high neckline.
Now, Zendaya is reportedly taking extraordinary measures to ensure the sentimental garment—which has never been pictured or seen publicly—is carefully preserved for years to come.
Sources told The Sun that the actress wants to keep the gown close by rather than entrusting it to an outside storage company. The dress reportedly needs to be stored at a temperature between 59 and 64 degrees.

AUBURN — Alex Golesh got to know Jon Sumrall as the two helmed American Conference programs the past two seasons. Then the duo went on to highlight the latest coaching carousel's American-to-SEC moves, taking over at Auburn football and Florida, respectively.
"It will be fun in Jordan-Hare, Week 3 Saturday night," Golesh said when asked about Sumrall at SEC Media Days, and now the time's come. The Tigers will host Florida on Saturday, Sept. 19 (7 p.m. CT, ESPN), for their SEC-opener, with seemingly all niceties put to the side.
The pair has only faced off once previously, with Sumrall's Tulane posting a 45-10 blowout against South Florida in 2024. Golesh said Monday, Sept. 14, he re-watched the tape "for about the 200th time" in preparation for the Gators, adding that it would've made for a "really, really rough morning" to watch it with him the day prior.
TIME, TV: When does Auburn football play Florida this week?
That wasn't even Golesh's most-notable comment on Sumrall. Told Florida's head coach described the pair as friends, Golesh shot it down in a hurry.

White Sox's postseason hopes might rely on two breakout pitchers originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The Chicago White Sox are 76-73 entering play on Monday, September 14. They're just 0.5 games up on the Cleveland Guardians and fittingly begin a series against their division rivals in Cleveland to get the week started.
If they struggle during this series, not only could the White Sox lose their AL Central lead, but they might even drop out of the postseason field entirely. This is a pivotal series, and the end of the season is still very important to Chicago.
One AL scout told ESPN's Jesse Rogers that the White Sox can be a "sleeper" postseason team if two pitchers can perform at a high level.
"If the White Sox can get just a little starting pitching, they could still make some noise," an AL scout told Rogers. "They have a bullpen. That's always a need in the playoffs. And they can hit home runs. They just haven't lately. I like them as a sleeper, **** uming [Davis] Martin or [Sean] Burke are good."

Coming off the Indianapolis Colts' Week 1 matchup with the Baltimore Ravens, head coach Shane Steichen said that wide receiver Alec Pierce's left hand/wrist is fine, according to Mike Chappell of FOX59.
Following Sunday's game, Chappell wrote that Pierce briefly exited the game and was taken to the locker room after his left wrist hit the helmet of Ravens' linebacker Roquan Smith at some point in the first half.
Chappell added that Pierce's X-rays came back negative. He then spoke to the Colts' wideout about the injury after the game.
"It's good,'' Pierce told Chappell. "I just bruised up my hand. No worries.''
Pierce underwent offseason ankle surgery that landed him on the PUP list for much of training camp. He has spent the past few weeks ramping up, which included taking on a smaller role in Sunday's game.

This summer, a 28-year-old digital content marketer packed up his suitcases and duct-taped boxes and fled Russia, leaving behind his family and friends and not knowing when he'll be able to return.
"It is very sad to leave Russia," he said in the southern city of Krasnodar before heading for the border with Georgia.
He blamed "the political situation" in Russia and complications over authorities restricting internet access as his reasons for leaving. Otherwise, "I never would have left for more than several months," he told The ******* ociated Press, speaking on condition of anonymity because of security concerns.
He is one of a number of people who either left or are contemplating a move amid recent Ukrainian drone attacks inside Russia and persistent rumors of a coming mobilization of troops for the 4 1/2-year-old war.
The attacks this summer caused an unprecedented fuel crisis and dealt crippling blows to the booming e-commerce sector. Since last year, the government has cited the attacks to justify harsh restrictions on connecting to the internet.

Lady Gaga wrapped her Mayhem Ball tour at New York City's Madison Square Garden on April 13 before largely retreating from the public eye. Now, a new report is shedding light on what was happening behind the scenes.
Rob Shuter reported in his Naughty But Nice Substack on Saturday, September 12, that the 40-year-old singer quietly pulled back from public life while preparing for one of the biggest changes of her life: becoming a mother.
"People close to her felt completely blindsided," a source told Shuter. "Not because they were upset, but because she managed to keep something this big hidden for so long. In Hollywood, that's almost impossible."
As In Touch previously reported, Gaga welcomed her first child with fiancé Michael Polansky. The couple, who began dating in 2019 and became engaged in 2024, have not confirmed their baby's name or date of birth.

An Alaska teenager who survived nearly two days atop an overturned fishing skiff told his rescuers that his cousin had slipped away during the night and that his older brother remained beneath the vessel after the three were thrown into the frigid Bering Sea, according to rescuers and family members.
Derek Parker Aghnaanga, 15, was spotted Monday morning on the capsized skiff roughly four miles east of St. Lawrence Island after he, his 35-year-old brother Sidney Kulowiyi and their cousin disappeared during a fishing trip.
"Through the teeth chattering, he had mentioned that his brother was still under the skiff," Adam White, captain of the fishing vessel Northwest Explorer, told Anchorage affiliate KTUU-TV. "And then he said that, in the previous night, before our rescue, that his cousin had slipped away."
A GoFundMe page organized by relatives said Aghnaanga tried to hold onto his brother and cousin after they died, before their bodies were recovered.

Travis Barker's vegan journey didn't start cleanly. He went to great lengths to hide his distaste for meat as a kid. That sometimes meant getting his hands dirty, literally.
"I had a very strict father growing up, and you had to eat everything on your plate before you left the dinner table," the Blink-182 drummer recently told People. "So I'd be there for hours sometimes – till I figured out I could hide all of the meat in my pockets."
Barker, 50, looked back on the confusing time in his life in the new interview, which touched on his campaign with the Humane World for Animals organization. It aims to promote "simple choices" to better the future of animals, including "eating more plant-based meals, choosing cruelty-free products, embracing animal-friendly fashion or adopting a shelter pet instead of buying one from a pet store," according to the nonprofit's website.

Elon Musk reportedly used his first dance with his then-wife to establish who was in charge.
"I am the alpha in this relationship," Musk allegedly told his first wife, Justine Wilson Musk, as the newlyweds danced at their 2000 wedding, according to her appearance in Alex Gibney's new documentary Musk, which was viewed by People.
More than two decades later, Justine says the comment wasn't an isolated moment. She describes a marriage in which Musk regularly criticized her, made her feel insignificant, and spoke to her as though she worked for him.

Katie Holmes and her new boyfriend, Jason Bard Yarmosky, are taking in New York Fashion Week.
From fashion shows to parties, the couple has been spotted looking loved up at various events around the city, often wearing coordinating outfits.
A source recently told PEOPLE that they're enjoying themselves in the months since they were first seen spending time together.
"They've become close pretty quickly," the source said of Holmes, 47, and Yarmosky, 39, some two months after they were first photographed in East Hampton, N.Y., July 10. "Katie feels very comfortable with him. She's having a lot of fun. They really enjoy spending time together and had an amazing summer."
Yarmosky, a New York City-based artist, and Holmes were first seen holding hands when they attended a screening of Olivia Wilde's The Invite back in July. The pair also stepped out for dinner in Manhattan that same week. More recently, Holmes and Yarmosky made their relationship Instagram official on Sept. 1 and shared photos from a trip they took to Lake Como in Italy on Monday, Sept. 7.
