What's been exciting about Robinhood Chain (RHC) is seeing tokens attempt new mechanisms to answer questions like: why would someone hold this token? How can we make participating in this token attractive? And, more broadly, how can market activity around a token overall be designed to contribute to its success?
All new projects should ask this and the best ones do, but when you have a new chain, with a new market and new infrastructure, it can be sort of a "clean slate" or fresh design ***** e and breathe new life into the solutions to such questions.
The dominant answer right now seems to be distributions: hold this token and get stock, tokens, etc. Below are projects which execute this with a twist, expanding either the type of rewards or the source for rewards that end up in the hands of holders.
Others attempt to answer the second question, experimenting with new infrastructure that tries to make market activity, of whatever kind, directly contribute to the token's success.
These are all shared to give you a sense of what novelty can look like amidst this meta and act as a guiding force to understand what's been done, what's working, and overall where to direct your attention towards.

When Cathie Wood makes a move, Wall Street tends to pay attention. Her trades have become something of a market signal, especially when they involve the high-growth themes she has consistently backed. And in September, that shopping list included a little bit of everything — ****** e, fintech, crypto and biotechnology — while ARK Investment Management trimmed several large technology and healthcare positions.
In fintech, ARK Innovation ETF (ARKK) has been steadily adding to its Robinhood Markets (HOOD) bet. On Sept. 4, the fund bought 28,589 HOOD shares worth roughly $3.5 million, just a day after the stock jumped 16.6%. ARK then returned to the checkout counter on Sept. 8, purchasing another $3.3 million worth of Robinhood's shares. The buying reflects growing optimism around Robinhood's prediction markets, banking, and crypto businesses. The additions have also pushed HOOD into ARKK's top 10 holdings, with a 4.17% portfolio weight.

Robinhood Markets (NASDAQ:HOOD) could gain an important new source of fee revenue with its recently launched Robinhood Chain platform. Activity on that blockchain is accelerating rapidly.
On September 4, Deutsche Bank raised its price target on Robinhood stock to $136 from $115. It also raised its earnings estimates for the company. The bank cited a sharp increase in Chain fee revenue as the reason for these upgrades.
Now, the more important question for investors is not whether the Robinhood Chain is generating fees. Instead, it is whether the recent surge in network activity can become a sustained source of earnings growth.
The pace and scale of the recent increase are difficult to ignore. Robinhood Chain's daily revenue run rate was below $200,000 through mid-August, according to data from DeFiLlama cited by Deutsche Bank. The figure jumped sharply to nearly $500,000 on August 29 before exploding to almost $1 million on August 30.
It kept rising from there. Daily revenue surpassed $1.9 million on August 31, reached $3.38 million on September 1, and hit $4.01 million on September 2.

Futures are trading lower after a rough start to the holiday-shortened trading week. All the major indices finished the day sharply lower on rising oil prices and two huge inflation readings on deck: the producer price index on Thursday and the consumer price index on Friday. If both come in above expectations, you can count on an interest rate hike next week when the Federal Reserve governors meet. The venerable Dow Jones Industrial Average took the biggest shot, closing down 1.18% at 52,786, while the S&P 500 finished the session at 7,673, down 0.58%. The Russell 2000 fell 0.52% to 2,960, while the tech-heavy Nasdaq finished the day at 26,421, down 0.32%. With market-moving data on the way and sentiment falling, this could be a tough week for investors as we could catch some September blues.

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. — Maybe there is a public embrace to be had by dueling executives Vlad Tenev and Adam Aron.
"I'm open to it, you know, I love debates. I'm open to many things," Robinhood (HOOD) co-founder and CEO Vlad Tenev told Yahoo Finance from the Goldman Sachs Communacopia & Tech Conference (video above).
A fierce public war of words erupted on X between AMC Entertainment (AMC) CEO Adam Aron (known as the "Silverback" on X) and Tenev over the brokerage's extensive use of stock tokens that track AMC shares.
Aron ignited the dispute by blasting tokenization — the practice of issuing digital versions of ***** ets, such as stocks, on a blockchain network — as "contemptible," "vile," and "disgusting," demanding a cease-and-desist order while threatening legal action.
"What's the concern?" Tenev fired back, insisting that Robinhood's debt-backed derivatives do not require permission from the underlying companies.

Robinhood (NASDAQ: $HOOD) is expanding its prediction markets business by partnering with Crypto.com and its newly independent derivatives platform, OG.com, as demand for event contracts continues to surge.
Under the agreement announced Tuesday, Robinhood will begin routing a portion of its football prediction contracts to OG.com's CFTC-regulated exchange and clearinghouse. The first contracts are expected to go live today, ahead of the new professional football season.
Robinhood will also receive equity stakes in Crypto.com and OG.com following OG.com's planned spin-off as an independent trading platform. The stakes will be valued in line with Citadel Securities' recent investment in Crypto.com Group, which valued the company at $20 billion. The deal also puts OG.com's standalone valuation at $5 billion.

The chief executive of Robinhood (HOOD) said on Bloomberg Television late last month that states suing to shut down prediction markets are protecting their own money. "States disagree for various reasons," Vlad Tenev said. "I mean, number one is there's a huge financial incentive from collecting taxes on these state-owned operators for that to be protected."
American Gaming ****** ociation figures put state and local tax collections from sports betting at $3.71 billion in calendar 2025, up 32.4% on the year, on $16.96 billion of sportsbook revenue and $166.94 billion of handle. New York, which taxes mobile sports betting at 51%, accounts for roughly a third of the national total on its own; the state's own court filing says mobile operators generated about $2 billion in gross gaming revenue in 2024 and paid more than $1 billion in state taxes. New York and Illinois together produce close to half of everything states collect on sports betting.

Gold is up 2.34% to $4,489.99, and the 10-Year Treasury yield fell 5 basis points to 4.75%. Industrials lead sector gainers, with financial services and consumer cyclical stocks also seeing significant intraday strength as investors rotate into growth-oriented names.

Major U.S. indexes gained this morning as markets reassessed the probability of a September rate hike. Federal Reserve Governor Christopher Waller said he'd lean toward holding rates steady unless there are any major inflation surprises. His stance, which seemed to contrast with Chairman Kevin Warsh's emphasis on reducing stubborn inflation, reduced some of the pressure on U.S. Treasuries.
Investors will be watching tomorrow's labor market report and further inflation data due next week closely, as both will impact the Fed committee's decision when they meet on Sept. 15 and 16. Interest rate decisions can cause short-term headwinds for the stock market, and volatility is likely to increase in the second half of this year. However, unchecked inflation can erode long-term value and do more damage to your portfolio than higher rates.

WestEnd Capital Management's Core Strategy achieved a 16.3% net return in the quarter, surpassing the S&P 500's 15.0%. This performance stemmed from strong earnings generators and upward earnings revisions, showcasing U.S. companies' efficiency in converting sales into profits. S&P 500 net profit margins reached a decade-high of 14.8% in Q1 and are expected to remain above 14% in Q2 despite challenges like higher interest rates and geopolitical uncertainty. Artisan Partners, an investment management company, released its second-quarter 2026 investor commentary for the "Artisan Global Opportunities Strategy". The letter can be downloaded here. Global equities rebounded sharply during the quarter, with the MSCI ACWI Index returning 15.3% as resilient economic growth, strong corporate earnings, and continued enthusiasm around artificial intelligence supported markets despite persistent inflation, higher bond yields, and geopolitical uncertainty. The portfolio reported strong absolute returns of 12.65% (net) but underperformed the benchmark, mainly because of its underweight exposure to information technology and overweight position in health care. Strong stock selection in technology and energy partially offset these headwinds. The fund continues to see attractive long-term opportunities across AI infrastructure, health care and consumer internet, while remaining disciplined on valuation as several AI-related stocks have appreciated sharply. Management remains focused on durable franchises with identifiable profit cycles and attractive long-term earnings potential. Also, check the Strategy's top five holdings to see its best picks in 2026.
In its second-quarter 2026 investor letter, Artisan Global Opportunities Strategy highlighted Robinhood Markets, Inc. (NASDAQ:HOOD) as a new holding. Robinhood Markets, Inc. Artisan Global Opportunities Strategy stated the following regarding Robinhood Markets, Inc. (NASDAQ:HOOD) in its Q2 2026 investor letter:
"During the quarter, we initiated positions in Robinhood Markets, Inc. (NASDAQ:HOOD). Robinhood Markets operates a financial services platform offering brokerage, cash management and other investing products. We initiated a GardenSM position following share price weakness driven in part by lower crypto prices, which we viewed as an attractive entry point into a business with a long runway for growth. Despite the crypto headwind, Robinhood has continued to grow deposits at a strong rate, reflecting the platform's ability to attract and retain customer ***** ets. We believe Robinhood can continue gaining market share in the retail wealth market through its leadership in active trading and by expanding its suite of retirement, banking, lending and credit products. Investors may be underestimating Robinhood Markets Inc.(NASDAQ:HOOD) ability to generate more revenue from its existing customer base as the company expands beyond its traditional brokerage business. Morgan Stanley ****** yst Michael Cyprys upgraded the stock to Overweight from Equal Weight on September 1 and raised the price target to $150 from $124.
The upgrade reflects growing confidence that Robinhood's expanding product ecosystem can improve customer economics and create additional monetization opportunities. According to Morgan Stanley, Robinhood's broader platform is helping the company deepen customer engagement while increasing the amount of revenue it generates from each customer.
The company has expanded into areas including subscriptions, banking, credit, customer cash management and prediction markets. The strategy is designed to increase the number of products used by each customer rather than relying primarily on trading activity.
Prediction markets are one of Robinhood's most important newer growth opportunities and could help the company reduce its historical dependence on equities and cryptocurrency trading.
In the second quarter, event-contract volume reached 13.6 billion contracts, representing a roughly tenfold increase from the same period a year earlier. Revenue from event contracts surged from $10 million to $156 million, making prediction markets one of Robinhood's fastest-growing businesses.

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) proposed its first permanent digital-asset rule to govern the crypto industry on Aug. 18, and the next day, President Donald Trump held the chief executives of the industry's biggest companies, specifically Coinbase Global, Ripple -- with its XRP (CRYPTO: XRP) -- and Robinhood Markets, at the White House for a summit. That gathering came on the heels of the Senate leaving town on Aug. 8 without voting on the Clarity Act, which many had **** umed would lead to the bill's chances of passage in 2026 becoming very slim.
In some sense, the summit might even have been a response to the sluggishness of Congress. White House crypto advisor Patrick Witt claimed that regulators in the executive agencies -- specifically the SEC and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) -- will "break glass" (i.e., use emergency mechanisms) if Congress didn't deliver on the Clarity Act. That could be imminent, so let's break down what's happening with crypto regulation outside of what's being debated in the Capitol.

Good morning. Stocks traded in the green at the open on Friday but were still pacing for weekly losses after this week's bond market intrigue. A rally in bitcoin (BTC-USD) lifted crypto stocks, while defensive names lagged.
Here's a check of the markets in the first few minutes of trading, based on a heat map powered by Yahoo Finance AlphaSpace data.
Stocks were broadly green, with the exception of Utilities (XLU). The Basic Materials (XLB) sector was the morning's leader as commodities like copper (HG=F) and gold (GC=F) rose. Financial stocks (XLF) also saw strength, propelled by gains in Robinhood (HOOD) and Coinbase (COIN) stocks.
Here are some notable stocks that Yahoo Finance readers are viewing this morning: Strategy (MSTR), SK Hynix (SKHY), Coinbase, Circle (CRCL), Alibaba (BABA), Robinhood, Freeport-McMoRan (FCX)
