The probe into the actress' death has become a "cross-country investigation" in both Los Angeles and South Carolina, per ABC News. The type of drugs and where they came from has become a new focal point in the investigation.
TMZ subsequently reported that Panettiere had a "long time drug dealer" in Los Angeles who allegedly gave her several prescription drugs, including oxycodone. The outlet's sources suggest she purchased the fatal dose on a flight from L.A. to South Carolina, where she died on Aug. 16 at 36. TMZ reports that the pill she took the morning of her death could have allegedly been laced with fentanyl.
On Aug. 16, first responders had found Panettiere "unresponsive" and "in cardiac arrest" at the apartment complex she had been temporarily staying, per the Greenville County Coroner's Office. After "resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful," she was **** ounced dead at the scene.
The coroner's office reported that the autopsy was completed on Aug. 17, and there were "no signs of trauma" that "would have contributed to the death."

Henry Winkler is opening up about his decades-long feud with Tom Hanks, admitting he is still processing what went wrong while leaving the door open for a potential reconciliation.
Speaking on "In Depth With Graham Bensinger," the Emmy-winning actor revisited the turning point in their relationship: his high-profile firing as director of the 1989 comedy "Turner & Hooch," which starred Hanks, now 70.
Winkler recalled that he felt unsuited to direct the movie from the start but accepted the job after a Paramount executive handpicked him. His overzealousness and early insecurity quickly backfired once he got on set.
"I went completely against my tummy, and it hit me in the face with a 2-by-4," Winkler said. "I now meet the puppies, and I meet with Tom [Hanks] ... and I, at that time being insecure, I talked too much and I gave them direction. Instead, Watts and Schreiber bring their own distinct identities to the collection—one polished and timeless, the other edgier and more eclectic.

Our paths crossed once, in the '90s, backstage at a talk show, and I was completely tongue-tied and starstruck. RIP Dolly. You were a complete, irreplaceable one-off."

The actor recently looked back on an unexpected interaction with David Lynch, explaining why the brief encounter stayed with him long after the two went their separate ways.
During an Aug. 4 appearance on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, Sprouse recalled having dinner at Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles with Barbara Palvin and friends when he heard Lynch speaking at a nearby table.
Sprouse, a longtime Lynch fan, said he immediately recognized the filmmaker's voice. Palvin encouraged him to introduce himself, but Sprouse resisted because he did not want to interrupt Lynch while he was eating.
Instead, he stepped outside for a cigarette. A short time later, Lynch entered the smoking area and asked Sprouse for a cigarette and a light. Sprouse handed him both.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Rob Reiner's son Nick Reiner is seeking unpaid money from a trust his parents established for him, saying he needs it to help in his defense against charges that he killed them.
A petition filed by the 32-year-old Nick Reiner's civil attorneys in a Los Angeles County court on Monday says that trustees overseeing the funds have denied them to him without legal justification, and he needs and should get them now.
"Nick loved his parents, and he is devastated by their deaths. But the facts about what did and did not happen to them are not at issue in this Trust litigation," the petition says. "Like anyone accused of a crime, Nick is presumed innocent, and he is entitled to mount his defense with the resources that are lawfully his own."
The director and Hollywood luminary Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer and producer Michele Singer Reiner, were stabbed to death in their home in the upscale Brentwood section of Los Angeles on Dec. 14. Nick Reiner was arrested hours later and has since pleaded not guilty to two counts of murder.
Reiner retained high-profile private lawyer Alan Jackson to represent him, but less than a month later Jackson left the case for reasons he said he couldn't share. The new filing reveals that Reiner's siblings, Jake and Romy Reiner, had initially agreed to pay for Jackson, but reversed course.
