Burford Capital Limited (NYSE:BUR) announced on September 14 that its indirect, wholly owned subsidiary, Burford Capital Global Finance LLC, priced $300 million of 8% senior secured notes due 2029. Closing is expected September 17, subject to customary conditions.

Hyperscale campuses should enter the grid as integrated energy projects that add generation, storage, flexibility, and resilience, not merely as large loads.An April 2026 Pew Research Center **** ysis found more than 3,000 operating U.S. data centers and more than 1,500 in development, with 67% of planned facilities in rural communities. A Florida high school football player has been held on a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) hold for over a week, as first reported by TCPalm, part of the USA TODAY Network.
Emmanuel Nelson, an 18-year-old senior at Port St. Lucie High School, was driving a silver Toyota SUV when he was pulled over for going 45 mph in a 20-mph school zone, according to St. Lucie County court records obtained by USA TODAY. He received a citation for unlawful speed in a school zone on Wednesday, Aug. 19.
According to the police report, which was obtained by USA TODAY on Aug. 27, in the midst of the traffic stop, the officer ran Nelson's driver's license, which revealed he wasn't a U.S. citizen and that his working permits had expired. Nelson is originally from Haiti.
Because Nelson is a documented non-U.S. citizen, the officer contacted ICE, which placed a detainer on Nelson to determine where he should be placed into deportation proceedings. He was then arrested in handcuffs and transported to the St. Lucie County jail, where he was held for a week before being transferred to ICE custody in Broward County, where he remains as of this publication.
"It's just been a weird situation for the whole team, and it's not just for me," Port St. Lucie head coach Everette Alford told TCPalm. "All of his best friends are out there on the field, and they're missing him."

The r/AskReddit post had more than 2,100 upvotes as of publication. Some of the most popular responses were allegations or events that have been documented in news reports, court records, or autobiographies. At the same time, several commenters also repeated claims that could use more context.
One of the top comments brought up comedian George Lopez and said he cheated on his wife after she donated a kidney to him. Lopez's ex-wife, Ann Serrano, donated a kidney to him in 2005 after he was diagnosed with a genetic condition. Later in 2010, the couple announced that they were ending their 17-year marriage, and Serrano filed for divorce in 2012. The official cause, however, was irreconcilable differences.
ABC News reporting on the divorce did not support the claim that adultery was the cause of their split.
Another highly upvoted comment was in reference to former House Speaker Newt Gingrich. Reddit users claimed he filed divorce papers against his first wife while she was recovering from cancer surgery. FactCheck.org, on the other hand, reported that Gingrich and Jackie Battley were already separated and in divorce proceedings when she was hospitalized in 1980. Battley had undergone cancer surgery earlier and was recovering from surgery to remove another tumor. Gingrich has also said that the two argued during the hospital visit.

FR8 Solutions and 22 independent drivers have reached a settlement in a federal civil RICO lawsuit. The drivers accused the company of altering rate sheets and hiding revenue from hauled loads. On July 28, a Florida court dismissed the case with prejudice. The court filings do not disclose the settlement's financial terms.
Plaintiffs and defendants filed a joint notice of settlement on July 27. They told the court they had resolved the matter and were finalizing their agreement. Judge Wendy Berger closed the case the following day. Her order allows either side 60 days to request a final order or reopen proceedings.
FR8 and the drivers worked under agreements that promised drivers 88% of each load's linehaul rate. The complaint claims company records showed smaller rates than FR8 actually received. Drivers claimed FR8 supplied settlement statements and dispatch documents that understated the company's revenue. The lawsuit says those documents reduced their percentage-based payment on individual loads.
One disputed shipment ran from Wood Dale, Illinois, to Gaffney, South Carolina. FR8's system showed a $2,400 rate, while the complaint claims FR8 received $2,500. Another shipment ran from Del Rio, Texas, to Kansas City, Kansas. For that move, the drivers claim FR8 showed $8,000 but received $15,000.
The $7,000 difference represented $6,160 under the drivers claimed 88% formula. Drivers also identified Ascent On-Demand, Active On-Demand and Landstar in disputed transactions. They claimed another company operator revealed different rates during June 2023. FR8 then ended their contracts and locked them out of its mobile application, the lawsuit states.

HONG KONG (AP) — Hong Kong conglomerate CK Hutchison said Thursday it was seeking more than $1.5 billion in damages from Panama after the country seized two canal ports caught in the crosshairs of U.S.-China tensions.
CK Hutchison said in the statement that it had begun new arbitration proceedings against Panama and alleged that the Central American country had breached an investment protection treaty through "sovereign acts that targeted a decades-old ports concession" in a "state attack campaign" on the company's ****** ets in the Central American country.
Panama's government in February seized the Balboa and Cristobal ports, located on each end of the Panama Canal, after its Supreme Court that a concession held by CK Hutchison's subsidiary to run the two ports was unconstitutional.
The two ports at each end of the Panama Canal became part of U.S.-China tensions since Donald Trump's return to the White House last year after he alleged China of "running" the canal.
The Panama Canal is managed and owned by Panama. But CK Hutchison's subsidiary Panama Ports Company had run the two ports on the canal from 1997 and had renewed its concession for 25 years in 2021.

FR8 Solutions and 22 independent drivers have reached a settlement in a federal civil RICO lawsuit. The drivers accused the company of altering rate sheets and hiding revenue from hauled loads. On July 28, a Florida court dismissed the case with prejudice. The court filings do not disclose the settlement's financial terms.
