The Hercules: The Legendary Journeys star opened up to Fox News Digital about his decision to leave California for the Sunshine State seven years ago and why he's still happy with his choice.
"I mean, here in Florida, yeah, we get five months of pretty high humidity," Sorbo, 67, a Minnesota native who considers himself to be a political conservative, said. "It's pretty hot, but the winters here are really quite amazing. But yeah, there are things I miss, but they can keep their taxes, they can keep their traffic, and they can keep their negativity; I'm done."
As for what he misses, the Andromeda alum said California's mild weather, his old house, and the golf course he frequented made the list. But his move East wasn't just to get a break on taxes. In Florida, Sorbo told the outlet, he found "acceptance" and also had the opportunity to pursue a career in Independent films through his Sorbo Studios production company.
"The people I've met here, the contacts I've met, it's been incredible," he said.

Trace Adkins says he has forgiven his second wife, Julie Lauren Curtis, for shooting him through the heart and lungs during an argument more than three decades ago.
The country singer revisited the near-fatal 1994 incident during a July 28 appearance on This Past Weekend With Theo Von.
Although Adkins joked that Curtis "took it a little far," he also described the point-blank gunshot as a "kill shot" that he would not have survived without emergency medical care.
Adkins declined to press charges after the shooting. He now says he does not believe Curtis fully understood what the gun would do when she pulled the trigger.
"That took it a little far, I thought," he told Theo Von. "That was uncalled for. That was totally uncalled for. Just leave. Let's just call it quits, and we don't have to go that far." According to Adkins, Curtis was angry and wanted him to leave their home, but he refused. During the argument, she placed the gun beneath his left arm. When he told her to give it to him, she fired.

Further, he wants to spend time with his grandchildren, whom he has reportedly not seen in person since the late Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June 2022.
According to one insider, the monarch now believes the family's prolonged estrangement has gone on long enough and sees the upcoming visit as an important opportunity to reopen communication. Prosecutors in New York have dropped a rape charge against Harvey Weinstein after his accuser Jessica Mann declined to withstand another retrial.
"To be clear, we believe Ms. Mann's account and her credibility as a witness," Manhattan D.A. Alvin Bragg said in a Thursday statement. "This has been an extraordinarily taxing ordeal for her, and she has never wavered while testifying in front of two grand juries and three trial juries over the course of eight years. Dreesen died at his home in Los Angeles, according to publicist Lori De Waal. A cause of death was not provided.
After meeting in Chicago, Dreesen and Reid, who was Black, formed "Tim and Tom" in 1969. Against a backdrop of simmering racial tension, they used humor to address social issues and promote understanding between audiences of different backgrounds. They worked together until the mid-1970s. Reid went on to solo success playing DJ Venus Flytrap on the popular TV sitcom "WKRP in Cincinnati," where Dreesen was a guest star.
After splitting with Reid, Dreesen honed a solo comedy act, making over 500 national TV appearances, including 60 visits to "The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson." He also was a frequent guest and sometime guest host on "The Late Show with David Letterman." Their friendship dated to the early 1970s when both worked at The Comedy Store in West Hollywood, California.
Dreesen's final TV appearance came last week on "Comics Unleashed with Byron Allen," which replaced Stephen Colbert's canceled CBS late-night show.
