Arsenal are preparing to launch negotiations over an extended deal for first-choice goalkeeper David Raya despite the Spaniard recently admitting he would like to play in his homeland one day. Meanwhile, neither Barcelona nor Real Madrid are expected to make an imminent move for the 31-year-old shot-stopper in upcoming transfer windows.
According to Football Insider, the north London hierarchy want to tie their Spanish custodian down beyond his current 2028 expiration date to fend off any future interest from La Liga. Speculation linking him with Spain's two biggest clubs emerged after he told Spanish media last week that he hopes to play in his native top flight eventually. However, the goalkeeper insisted in the same interview that he remains content at the Emirates Stadium.
Having silenced initial sceptics following his move from Brentford to establish himself as the Premier League's standout goalkeeper in recent seasons, Raya registered his fifth clean sheet in eight top-flight outings against Everton last weekend before narrowly losing out on Monday's Yashin Trophy to international team-mate Unai Simon.
Explaining why a switch to Spain is unlikely soon on the Transfer Insider podcast, journalist Pete O'Rourke said: "If he were to leave ******* nal, there's no immediate opening for one of the big boys in Spain right now as well. Barcelona have got Joan Garcia, and it looks like Courtois is going to sign a new contract at Real Madrid as well, so I don't see any opening for David Raya right now.
"The player is happy at ******* nal, and obviously ******* nal are very happy with him, so I think any potential move back to his native Spain will be probably on the back burner for a while just yet."

Hansi Flick could turn to Barcelona's reserve team for defensive reinforcements ahead of their Champions League clash against PSG.
With Andreas Christensen already sidelined through injury, the German manager suffered another blow when both Eric Garcia and Jules Kounde picked up problems against Real Betis.
According to journalist Sergi Capdevila, young centre-back Alex Campos is emerging as the leading candidate to make the trip to Paris.
Barcelona currently have only five first-team defenders available, forcing Flick to consider alternatives from Barça Atletic.
Campos has impressed with his performances at the start of the season, putting himself in a strong position to earn an opportunity with the senior squad.

Bayern Munich has made progress towards generating income from its campus this summer, with multiple sales of academy talents contributing to Bayern's overall summer transfer income — estimated at over €50M, per Transfermarkt.
It has been called the 'summer of the century' by Bayern honorary president Uli Hoeneß, according to an interview he gave to Kicker. However, the Bavarians are naturally hoping for more first team-ready products to emerge for themselves, to follow in the recent examples of Aleksandar Pavlović and Lennart Karl.
Via Kicker journalist Frank Linkesch, as captured by iMiaSanMia:
Speaking to kicker, Uli Hoeneß says he's very happy with the funds the club managed to raise in the summer by selling Campus players. Hoeneß has even called it "summer of the century", saying that when the Campus was established, he was thinking more about producing players for the first team than generating transfer revenue from sales.
Hoeneß calls the resulting income "a nice side effect," adding that the academy has long since paid for itself. And in an era of exorbitant salaries, it can also help ease the financial burden on the first-team budget.

The Hungarian international, 29, was a target for the Hoops during the summer as the club looked to strengthen their limited goalkeeping options, however no agreement was reached and the hoops brought in former England international Sam Johnstone from Wolves on a one year loan deal instead.
11 times capped Toth has an extension offer from the EFL Championship club, with Blackburn manager Tony Mowbray hoping to persuade him to stay on at Ewood Park.
Journalist Alan Nixon has reported that Toth, who signed for Rovers in a Hungarian side Fehervar for a fee of around £1million, is not currently willing to sign the proposed agreement, and Celtic are keeping a close eye on the situation.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce seem to already be having issues with their new neighbors.
Earlier this year, it was reported by the Wall Street Journal that Kelce, 37, purchased a $5.35 million lakefront estate in Ohio, and now home renovations are underway.
The Daily Mail reported on Thursday, October 8, that a planning board meeting was held last month in the village of Bratenahl, just outside Cleveland, and a six-foot fence was unanimously approved despite some objections from those living close by, according to records.
A neighbor by the name of Katherine Bolton reportedly told the Architectural Review Board that Kelce's new purchase was a "tremendous blow" to "the peace and quiet in Bratenahl."
"There's a new owner, who is an absentee owner, who is not going to be here," she said, according to a record of the hearing obtained by the Mail. (The Kansas City Chiefs tight end and pop star, 36, weren't named.)

ATHENS, Greece (AP) — U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Thursday flatly refused to comment on a new report alleging that U.S. Ambassador to Greece Kimberly Guilfoyle engaged in improper and possibly illegal conduct before taking up her post.
Rubio told reporters that he would not discuss the allegations contained in a Wall Street Journal story that said Guilfoyle had asked a donor and supporter of U.S. President Donald Trump to pay a $100,000 credit card bill just before her confirmation hearing, promising him access to administration officials if he did.
He spoke before leaving Greece, where he delivered a speech calling for European countries to return to what he described as their civilizational roots.
Rubio said he was aware of The Wall Street Journal's report, which was published late Wednesday, but had no idea if it was true and he would not address it.
"You guys walk around thinking that because some source told you something and you reported it, it's the gospel. It's not the gospel. It's not the gospel for me. That's not the way we do things," he said at the foot of his plane as Guilfoyle, who was there to see him depart Greece, looked on.

In Monday's episode of The Megyn Kelly Show podcast, the former Fox News anchor berated Rodrigo for her Instagram Story post.
"Olivia, in sum, you don't know what the f**k you're talking about. Shut up and stick to singing," Kelly claimed.
"I liked you better when you were in front of a microphone singing your weird little depressing songs."
The journalist continued to criticise the 23-year-old singer for publicly sharing her views, branding her a "know-nothing moron".

The pizza dining sector has been in a downsizing mode in 2026 with several chains closing numerous locations for a variety of reasons.
Some of the biggest and most popular chains, such as Pizza Hut and Papa John's, plan to close 100s for restaurants in 2006 to rid themselves of properties that have become a financial burden.
Boston-based pizza dining chain Bertucci's, which has filed for bankruptcy three times in the last eight years, has also closed dozens of locations.
Bertucci's most recently shuttered its last Washington, D.C.-area location with the closing of its Springfield, Va., restaurant at the end of September, according to the Washington Business Journal.
The 45-year-old pizza chain, which at one time had over 100 locations, has 11 remaining restaurants in Massachusetts, Delaware, and Pennsylvania.

A fresh report claims that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's new neighbors continue to voice complaints. This news follows reports that the Sussexes' Montecito neighbors are pleased about their move to the U.K. The pair have now apparently moved to a private estate in England's Cotswolds for an extended period.
Meghan Markle is reportedly facing complaints from Cotswolds residents, with a royal commentator claiming neighbors have raised several issues about her and Prince Harry.
Daily Beast editor-at-large Tom Sykes reported that the ***** ss recently visited Soho Farmhouse for afternoon tea with a companion. For those unfamiliar, it is a private members-only retreat featuring cabins, dining options, and various activities, as well as gym and spa facilities. She also reportedly visited a farm shop with bodyguards by her side, per the Daily Express.
The matter resurfaced on Vanessa Feltz's "At Home With Vanessa" podcast. The British broadcaster told her guests that she learned there were "tempers" and requests for "certain treatment" from Markle during her visit to Soho Farmhouse.
Journalist Daisy McAndrew echoed similar reports. She said, "I happen to be in a WhatsApp group of the village that is next to Soho. So I have a house that we rent out there and I can tell you that that WhatsApp group has been absolutely alive and buzzing with complaints."

Frank Fitzpatrick bought ~200 shares of Berkshire Hathaway (BRK-B) at $40 in 1976, sold after 14 months when the stock doubled, then bought back in at a higher price.
Fitzpatrick used his Berkshire gains to buy a Lake Tahoe lakefront home, fund an education nonprofit, and leave shares to his two children.

Kate Middleton is said to be people's favorite, but she might not be able to outshine one royal family member. According to a royal expert, the Princess of Wales has her own unique ways of handling situations compared to the late Princess Diana. It was said that Prince William's mother had raised the bar too high when it came to charity work and fashion. Hence, Middleton has been compared to her mother-in-law several times.
Kate Middleton could reportedly be under "pressure" because of the late Princess Diana's legacy in the royal family. Royal Expert Ingrid Seward talked about her new book, "Catherine & Diana: The Inside Story of how the Princesses of Wales Shaped the Modern Monarchy," with The Royal Observer. She opened up about her thoughts on the Princess of Wales's similarities and differences with Diana.
Seward believes that the former Princess of Wales' legacy might put "pressure" on Middleton's role in the monarchy. Whether it's about fashion or charity projects, Diana had caught attention every time. During the conversation on "Palace Unfiltered," Seward agreed with the journalist, claiming Middleton's role was the "most pressurized."
"It is a really pressurized, or it's become, let's say, a really pressurized position, and I think that is because of the glamour that Diana gave to this role, and no one's ever outshone her." Furthermore, the expert noted that Middleton has, however, never tried to overshadow her mother-in-law. She reportedly once said that she would "make the role my own."
"And what Catherine's been so clever to do is she's just been different. She hasn't tried to outshine her," the author said. Moreover, Seward addressed Middleton's fashion sense, which also seemed to have often drawn attention.

Pete Davidson is speaking out about his past relationship with Kim Kardashian.
In a new interview with Variety, the 32-year-old actor and comedian jokingly likened himself as a survivor while speaking to journalist Marlow Stern.
"I'm one of the survivors — the few and the proud. We're like the Marines," Davidson said. "Look, man, that's a really tough atmosphere if you're not game. One of the things I love about Kim and that whole family is they're like, 'This is what we do.' I found that very attractive and mature."
He continued, "And I was never subjected to anything I didn't want to be a part of. She was super respectful of all of it, but the craze of that lifestyle — being followed everywhere, having security and looking over your shoulder — for a guy with mental stuff, and at the time drug problems, was a little too much for me. But we're cool, and I have a lot of love for her, and I knew what I was getting into."

Michael Douglas hit back at a decades-old rumor that he went to rehab for an alleged *** addiction during a strained interview published Sunday by the U.K.'s Sunday Times.
Douglas, 82, was discussing his new memoir, "One **** uva Ride," with British journalist Decca Aitkenhead. She reminded him that he wrote about having to break things off with five women before becoming monogamous with actor Catherine Zeta-Jones, whom he married in 2000 shortly after the end of his first marriage, to Diandra Luker.

And so I therefore, that evening, you know, made some calls to some people I was seeing, and that was that."
In her article, Aitkenhead writes that Douglas then gives her an expression that "suggests that he thinks he's just corrected me."

That's debatable. The president seems to prize loyalty above all and punishes dissenters, even close allies. Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) appeared to get doxxed by Trump for opposing his all-year daylight saving time push. The president even expects obedience from his U.S. Supreme Court appointees.
But Maher insisted to "GPS" host Fareed Zakaria that Trump ultimately takes a dim view of suck-ups.

Umberto Pizzi, who has died aged 88, was a paparazzo who documented Italy's Dolce Vita era, specialising in candid shots of the actors, television personalities, politicians and ***** orted hangers-on who made up the emerging class of nouveau riche.
Pizzi himself spurned the term "paparazzi", which he thought conveyed an attitude of hostility towards photojournalists. He preferred to think of his role as a kind of modern-day Petronius, documenting the spectacles and excesses of the era through its best-known personalities. He photographed stars of Italian cinema such as Marcello Mastroianni and Vittorio Gassman, as well as Hollywood golden couple Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton.
In the 1970s and 1980s he ventured into the realms of Italian culture, politics and the global aristocracy. He photographed John Paul Getty III during his time in Rome and trod on bullets on his way to the scene where the former prime minister Aldo Moro was kidnapped in 1978. His archive, comprising around two million images, spanned two republics and more than 60 years of history, from economic boom to the season of protest, through to the modern era of mass communication.
The film-maker Tinto Brass pictured by Pizzi with the actress Sandra Milo, 1987 - UMBERTO PIZZI DA/Fotogramma
From the early 2000s he worked for the web publication Dagospia, which became notorious for its section headed "Cafonal": roughly, the uncouth, ostentatious rich. One Pizzi image that encapsulated the new era showed a table of important people stuffing themselves with food. Another was of Northern League and Forza Italia members dousing a reclining woman with champagne during a birthday party.

(NewsNation) — Prince Harry is rumored to be preparing a documentary about Princess Diana to mark the 30th anniversary of his mother's death, with the potential 2027 project already eliciting some negative reaction.
Royal commentator and journalist Rob Shuter says he's all for the concept.
"It's his right to tell the story. That is his mom. Lots and lots of people will be making documentaries next year," he told "NewsNation Prime" on Saturday. "The historian in me, the reporter in me, says we want as much information as we possibly can get, and who better to talk about Princess Diana than her son?"

The former Diana Spencer, who married and later divorced Prince Charles, was killed in a car crash in Paris in August 1997. At the time of her death, her eldest son, William, was 15; Harry was 12.
