A new hero established himself in the colours of Real Madrid late on Saturday evening. This came as Los Blancos battled their way to a last-gasp victory away at Espanyol.
Los Blancos got their La Liga campaign up and running a short time ago, making the trip to Catalunya for the first competitive fixture of José Mourinho's new tenure.
As proceedings rolled into injury time, the visitors looked set to be forced to make do with a disappointing share of the spoils, after Jude Bellingham's early opener was cancelled out by Álex Calatrava.
Just when he was needed most, though, a somewhat unexpected hero emerged for a star-studded Real Madrid squad…
After pouncing on a loose ball on the Espanyol penalty area, Carlos Espí, fresh off a summer move from Levante, showed impressive composure to set himself up before slotting home a confident right-footed finish.
