Marseille returned to Rennes' Roazhon Park for the first time since the infamous dressing room brawl between Adrien Rabiot and Jonathan Rowe. So much has changed since for Les Phocéens, including the manager with Bruno Genesio making his return in Brittany after coaching Les Rouge et Noir between 2021 and 2023. Both teams were on opposite momentums. Rennes were targeting top spot whereas Marseille looked to avert a third straight Ligue 1 loss.
Still, Marseille put on a good show in the first half, playing with the handbrake off but without losing team structure. Pierre-Emile Höjbjerg pulled the strings from midfield, and Marseille's wide men put Rennes on the backfoot. Up front, the hosts were toothless. The attackers looked like they played together for the first time, leaving Estéban Lepaul in no man's land.

Manchester United's decision start the season with Luke Shaw as the only senior left-back in the squad will hardly please fans. The Red Devils were expected to sign a long-term replacement for the Englishman this summer.
Shaw has entered the final year of his contract and turned 31 earlier this year. Given his history of injury-related issues, reinforcing the position emerged as a priority this year.
However, the Englishman started every game in the Premier League last season, suggesting that his fitness woes were behind him. That perhaps generated confidence behind the scenes over the summer.
United invested over £150 million in the midfield and were left with very little funds to spare for other positions. Despite being linked with players like Lewis Hall, Alejandro Balde, David Raum and Adrien Truffert, the Red Devils ended the summer without signing a new left-back.

Juventus had won their first two games of the season, but it would be entirely fair to say that they had come close to leaving those matches ruing missed opportunities. Each of them could've been put away long time before they were, and indeed one of the major talking points headed into Sunday's matchup against AC Milan was the fact that the Bianconeri had gotten the results without reaching the level of performance they desired. Milan were in the same boat, winning two straight under new manager Ruben Amorim but not convincing in either. It felt as though the team that managed to perform better would be the likelier to come out of the Allianz on top.
It was ultimately Juve that had the better of a game that was equal parts chaotic and sloppy. But once again they failed to take advantage of their performances. They failed to make the most of the chances they made over the game's first 70 minutes before Milan scored on — stop me if you've heard this one before — their first shot on target of the match. It took until the second minute of stoppage time for Juve to finally even things out, when Federico Gatti powered home a Teun Koopmeiners cross from six yards to earn the Old Lady a 1-1 draw.
The problems for Juventus were the same as we've talked about all season so far. The finishing wasn't nearly good enough, the passing was disjointed and often inaccurate, and overall creativity seemed to be lacking. But in spite of all of that, they can honestly say that they were the better of the two sides and deserved victory — even more so when you consider the fact that Milan's goal really should've been disallowed for a foul in the buildup that was never flagged by VAR. Considering they were missing seven players due to injury, several of whom were extremely important, it's far too early to start abandoning hope of a successful year—provided they make the improvements that their play so far suggest is possible.
Luciano Spalletti was missing Kenan Yildiz, Weston McKennie, Khéphren Thuram, Andrea Cambiaso, Jeff Ekhator, Juan Cabal, and Pape Matar Sarr. His 4-2-3-1 formation gave several players their first starts of the year. Guglielmo Vicario started behind the back four of Pierre Kalulu, Bremer, Jhon Lucumí, and Zeki Celik. Manuel Locatelli and Douglas Luiz started in the middle of the park, while Francisco Conceição joined Nico González and Kerim Alajbegovic behind Randal Kolo Muani in attack.

Ross Stores, Inc. (NASDAQ:ROST) surged after raising its full-year fiscal 2026 earnings guidance. The off-price retailer boosted its FY26 EPS target to $8.61–$8.77 from $7.50–$7.74, cruising past consensus estimates of $7.82.

Les Parisiens, in the wake of their maiden Champions League triumph, weren't expected to be challenged. Lens, in that sense, surprised many. Another challenge, either from Les Sang et Or or from elsewhere, would be welcomed but does not necessarily look forthcoming; the perception of PSG's invincibility has only been enhanced by their second consecutive UCL **** le.
Already the best side in the division, the best in Europe, the best team in French football history, PSG exist on an entirely different plane. They have the best starting XI in world football, and their transfer business attests to that, with the second string now the subject of Luís Campos' attention. The likes of Ferran Torres, Maghnes Akliouche, and Mika Godts look to be upgrades on Goncalo Ramos, Lee Kang-in, and Randal Kolo Muani. These are the types of players that will be regularly trotted out in Ligue 1, allowing the likes of Ousmane Dembélé, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Désiré Doué, etc., to save their best performances for those nights under the lights in the UCL.
All the while, the rest of Ligue 1 has, by and large, regressed. Marseille – at the time of writing – have yet to register a single recruit. Miss USA will celebrate its 75th Diamond Anniversary on Thursday, Aug. 27.
Contestants touched down in Miami in the week leading up to the pageant, representing all 50 states and Washington, D.C., as they prepared to vie for this year's ******* le.
This year's pageant theme is "75 Years of Icons," which the Miss USA website says is meant to represent the organization's legacy as one of the most "recognized and enduring platforms for women in the world. It is a cultural institution woven into the fabric of American entertainment, fashion and media."
"For 75 years, the organization has showcased dynamic, accomplished women who reflect the confidence, diversity and ambition of modern America," the website reads.
This year, over 40 legacy ******* leholders from around the U.S. are set to take part in the activities leading up to the historic reunion. In addition, the 44th iteration of the Miss Teen USA pageant will also take place throughout the week in Miami.
On Aug. 27 at 8 p.m., a new queen will be crowned, taking over from last year's winner Audrey Eckert, who represented Nebraska at the 2025 pageant.

This year, over 40 legacy ******* leholders from around the U.S. are set to take part in the activities leading up to the historic reunion. In addition, the 44th iteration of the Miss Teen USA pageant will also take place throughout the week in Miami.
On Aug. 27 at 8 p.m., a new queen will be crowned, taking over from last year's winner Audrey Eckert, who represented Nebraska at the 2025 pageant.

The 75th Annual Miss USA pageant will take place at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County in Miami. Events will take place inside the Ziff Ballet Opera House, per a release from the Miss USA organization. Additionally, the 44th Miss Teen USA competition will take place throughout the week in the same venue.

Following his unanimous-decision victory over Orlando Brown at State Farm Arena on Aug. 15, Brandy found herself pulled into tense interaction with boxer-turned-streamer Adrien Broner. Charlamagne, clearly unimpressed, spoke out to say she has no business being anywhere near it. Green recently made headlines by picking apart professional boxerBang Williams in boxing sparring. Williams trains under formerfour-division world champion Adrien Broner, who was also inattendance as the veteran UFC fighter trash-talked and repeatedlystung his pupil.
Green subsequently issued an open challenge to all professionalboxers. The Ultimate Fighting Championship lightweight soon met his matchin WBO interim super lightweight champion Arnold Barboza Jr., whopieced up Green, albeit they ended without any bad blood.
Green then admitted that Barboza showed him what real boxing lookslike. While Green went in expecting a slugfest, Barboza kept asolid guard and displayed slick footwork to pick him apart.
"I'm thinking we're going to do this certain dance," Green said onhis Instagram Stories. "And it doesn't exactly turn out the way Ithought it would. I learned today what real boxing is. The 2026 summer tour of Canada is over for Marquette men's basketball, and I can happily report that the Golden Eagles went 3-0 on their three game set in Vancouver. They wrapped up the series with a 102-65 victory over Fraser Valley on Saturday afternoon.

Elfyn Evans holds third place at Rally Finland despite rolling his Toyota on Saturday, as Sebastien Ogier was taken to hospital after crashing out of the lead.
Nine-time champion Ogier and co-driver Julien Ingrassia had a big accident on stage 17 - Saturday's penultimate stage - after they ran wide on a fast, right-hand corner and their Toyota crashed into trees.
The stage was stopped and an update from Toyota said both Ogier and Ingrassia got out of the car "unassisted", and were taken to hospital for checks but were "conscious and generally OK".
Sami Pajari, who won his first rally at the previous round in Estonia, inherited first place from Ogier and leads his home event with two stages remaining on Sunday.
The Finnish driver holds an advantage of 46.4 seconds over Toyota team-mate Oliver Solberg, while Evans moved into third place ahead of Hyundai's Adrien Fourmaux after setting the fastest time on Saturday's final stage.

Mike Maignan and Adrien Rabiot's 2026 World Cup journey with France has come to an end at the semi-final stage, as Les Bleus were defeated 2–0 by Spain in Dallas. Maignan played the full 90 minutes, beaten in the first half by an Oyarzabal penalty and in the second by Pedro Porro; Rabiot played 45 minutes before being replaced by Koné at half time. There was an early unexpected delay to the World Cup semi-final between France and Spain after the referee had to be bailed out by a colleague for forgetting a key piece of equipment.
Spain won a free-kick on eight minutes after France midfielder Adrien Rabiot mistimed a challenge on Spain’s Dani Olmo, standing on the Barcelona man’s foot which saw him see a yellow card.

Modric joined Milan as a free agent from Real Madrid last summer and quickly became the cornerstone of Massimiliano Allegri’s midfield in 2025/26. However, after the Rossoneri failed to secure Champions League qualification, the veteran playmaker bid farewell to the club.
Indeed, Modric signed a one-year contract with the 19-time Serie A winners with an option to extend for a further year. Despite passing the deadline, Milan could still persuade the 2018 Ballon d’Or winner to stay for another season. That’s largely thanks to Amorim, who reportedly views Modric as an indispensable figure in his rebuild.
Age is just a number in Modric’s case. Last season, he emerged as Milan’s driving force in the engine room, making as many as 34 Serie A appearances. The diminutive midfielder also amassed two goals and three ***** ists, forging a formidable partnership with Adrien Rabiot.

France face Sweden on Tuesday at East Rutherford's MetLife Stadium for their 2026 FIFA World Cup last-32. After winning Group I with three consecutive wins against Senegal (3-1), Iraq (3-0) and Norway (4-1), Les Bleusare the overwhelming favourites against Graham Potter's side, although Adrien Rabiot is adamant his teammates won't let their guard down.

After two seasons and a national championship at Hawaii, Finn Kearney is ready for a bigger on-court role.
The now former UH outside hitter announced last week on social media he will transfer to rival Long Beach State for the upcoming 2027 season.
Kearney, who is 6 feet 5, was a fan favorite during his time at UH. Injuries to other players allowed him to play a key role late during his freshman season, when he had double figures in kills in seven straight starts to help Hawaii win a Big West championship and advance to the NCAA semifinals.
He played in all but one match as a sophomore but was mostly used as a serving substitute, playing behind Adrien Roure and Louis Sakanoko, who both return next season, on the left side.
"First and foremost, it was a super cool opportunity to play at UH. Two years of my life that I have no regret in coming there at all," Kearney said in a phone interview Tuesday. "It was a really good decision. Two years well spent, I got a lot better, and I think now it was time to find a bigger role somewhere else and (Long Beach State) was my clearest path to the court."
