Tory Horton approaches the 2026 NFL season as an under-the-radar player with immense talent and a great amount of potential to become a significant part of the Seattle Seahawks' passing attack. Opportunities will dictate whether or not he will emerge in surprise fashion next season.
Horton recorded 13 receptions for 161 receiving yards and five REC touchdowns in 2025. He averaged 12.4 yards per reception and had multiple big time plays on the year. His 59.1 percent catch rate showed that he has room for improvement, but what met the eye showed a player capable of turning into a dynamic receiver with the ability to make plays after the catch and operate in all three phases of the field.

LeBron James and Austin Reaves formed a great bond during their time as teammates on the Los Angeles Lakers, but it turns out the former might not have been too pleased about deferring to the latter last season. James became the third option on the Lakers behind Reaves and Luka Doncic, and The Athletic's Law Murray revealed his internal struggle during a Reddit AMA.
"Covering LeBron James last season, he had an internal conflict going on with how much he had to defer to Austin Reaves (even Bron understood that Luka was the top dawg in any circumstance)," Murray stated. "Bron was very pleased with being able to still be the lead option in a postseason setting, particularly a winning one against the Rockets."
Doncic is a generational talent at the peak of his powers, while Reaves is an undrafted guard who has improved with each passing year. It would have been a lot easier to defer to one of them.
As for how James found himself in that position, the Lakers were struggling a bit in the first half of the 2025-26 campaign when he, Doncic, and Reaves were all on the floor together. There was some improvement over time, but it was only when the pecking order changed that they really took off.

Middleweight contender Gregory Rodrigues moved up the 185-pound pecking order last Saturday with a unanimous win over No. 7 ranked Antony Hernandez in the UFC Sacramento main event.
Rodrigues entered the fight ranked No. 10 and riding a three-fight winning streak. He utilized leg kicks to take control of the fight in the early rounds. Hernandez mounted a comeback but came up short. During the post-fight press conference, Hernandez accused Rodrigues of cheating.
"The f**ker was cheating and grabbing inside of my gloves. And I told Herb (Dean) that. I fight clean, man. So, it is what it is. Maybe I should be more dirty," Hernandez said. "I told f**king Herb, 'this motherf**ker grabbed my glove like four times, and I was like, 'Hey, he's grabbing my gloves.' And he told him, 'Hey, stop.' Manchester United are still interested in signing Bayern Munich defender Kim Min-jae in the summer transfer window.
The Red Devils are currently focussing on bolstering their midfielder, and are looking to negotiate a deal for Carlos Baleba.

The University of Utah completed its second of four weeks of fall camp on Saturday, wrapping up the week with its first scrimmage.
The Utes have hit what Scalley calls the "dog days" of fall camp. The excitement of being back has worn off, and the challenge to his players has been to keep that energy up throughout the remainder of camp.
Saturday's scrimmage was the first chance for players to really make an impact in a game-like situation. Scrimmages can go far in determining the depth chart, though Scalley is keeping that chart very close to the vest.
"Just lovely. Yeah, we got good ones," Scalley said when asked about the pecking order at wide receiver and cornerback. "I'm not going to tell you what that depth is, but we got good depth. Do your fantasy draft or whatever. We got really good ones. I'm excited for that group."

Brooklyn Nets rookie guard Mikel Brown Jr. had some hype around his name after being selected by the Nets with the No. 6 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft. Brooklyn was able to see Brown in action during the California Classic and Las Vegas Summer League and while he had some nice moments, he doesn't appear to be in the running for the Rookie of the Year award.
In the most recent odds posted by BetMGM, Chicago Bulls forward Caleb Wilson and Memphis Grizzlies forward Cameron Boozer are tied for the lead to win the Rookie of the Year award. As this relates to the Nets, Brown has the sixth-best odds of winning the award which could put him in a position to be a darkhorse for the award, but he has some tough competition to beat out.
In addition to the aforementioned Wilson and Boozer, Brown also has to compete with Washington Wizards forward AJ Dybantsa and Utah Jazz guard Darryn Peterson, all players that were drafted ahead of the former Louisville Cardinal. Ty Simpson didn't just have a great first NFL game; he had a historic one. The Los Angeles Rams rookie quarterback became the first player since Baker Mayfield in 2018 to throw for 190 yards and two touchdowns in his preseason debut, according to ESPN. Simpson completed 21-of-25 passes with no turnovers or sacks in his first NFL action against the Chiefs.

Coventry City have agreed a deal worth about £17m for Nottingham Forest striker Taiwo Awoniyi.
The Sky Blues are expected to complete the deal before their Premier League return against ******* nal on Friday.
Awoniyi became Forest's then record signing when he joined from Union Berlin in 2022 for £17.2m.
The 29-year-old scored 23 goals in 103 games for Forest but has been behind Chris Wood and Igor Jesus in the pecking order and was left out of last season's Europa League squad.

We're here today to take our best stab at what the Green Bay Packers think of their current roster. Yes, there's an open roster spot on the team right now, so there are only 90 players listed on this depth chart, not the typical 91.
We don't know what's happening behind closed doors, be it practices that weren't open to the public or how players are picking up the playbook and taking meeting lessons onto the field. Even in open practices, the media can't have their eyes on every player at all times. This is all to say: The club knows more about these players than we do.
What we do know, though, is how the Packers' depth chart has played out in the past. We also just learned a little more information about how the team thinks of their newer players, as they showed their hand a bit with how they deployed their positional rotations in their preseason opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers. With that in mind, here is the pecking order at each position, including every player on the team, after charting the Packers' rotations with their first- and second-team units and comparing those numbers to the overall snap counts from the game.

First, I believe six to seven healthy running backs- George Holani, Jadarian Price, Emanuel Wilson, Velus Jones Jr., Jacardia Wright, TJ Harden, and Justin Jones- to get carries. The Oklahoma Sooners are in need of a running game to make a major step in 2026 if they want to prove last season wasn't a fluke and the Sooners are a legit College Football Playoff contender.
When it comes to having a strong running game, a team needs good running backs, a good offensive line, a good tight end room and a good scheme. The Sooners feel this year's team is better in those areas than last year's team.
While the run game has been an emphasis, there has been an under-the-radar running back that is pushing to be Oklahoma's starter. Coming into the offseason, many thought the top spot would go to Tory Blaylock or Xavier Robinson. The two were the main contributors on last season's team. Lewis-Skelly has been used throughout pre-season as a defensive midfielder, largely because Declan Rice, Martin Zubimendi, Mikel Merino and Guimaraes have all been absent. That exposure has offered useful evidence for decision-makers, and the feedback appears mixed.
There is no doubt, however, about his talent. He ended last season strongly in the left eight role and did enough to earn a start in the Champions League final. That versatility, central midfield with the capacity to fill in on the left side of defence, is part of why Chelsea have tracked him for some time.

The Dallas Cowboys have cleared the first true hurdle of training camp, and now can set their eyes on the next, the opening exhibition game. On Tuesday, the Cowboys traveled down from Oxnard, CA so they could take on the Los Angeles Rams in a joint practice. Next up, a Saturday trip up the Pacific Coast so they can battle against the World Champion Seattle Seahawks.
And with that game barreling towards both clubs, the Cowboys press room sent out the unofficial depth chart for the preseason opener. It's the first real look at the pecking order of things that have been reported on during training camp practices, and it includes some noteworthy things.
From the outside looking in, the question about the OL is how many make the opening roster? The starting five is set, left to right being Tyler Guyton, Tyler Smith, Cooper Beebe, Tyler Booker and Terence Steele. TJ Bass is the top backup, with Nate Thomas and rookie Drew Shelton forming a consistently mocked group of eight OL.
Will they carry a ninth or an even 10? Can last year's late-round pick Ajani Cornelius convince them to carry five tackles, knowing Tyler Smith can slide outside? Does it make more sense to bring guard Nick Leverett to the regular season, or what about UDFAs Shiyazh Pete and DJ Wingfield?
As a fifth-round pick at the running back position, many expected Blue to be a part of the Cowboys' rotation on offense in 2025. While Instagram was initially created for individuals to share photos online with friends, fast forward to today, and the platform has become something bigger than anyone could have imagined. In that ******* e, celebrities share their own content, and often times engage with commentaries for the world to see.
Tom Bischof recently checked in with some interesting commentary as the Bayern Munich midfielder made a public like on a post of Lothar Matthäus' comment: 'The competition for places in Bayern's midfield is more exciting than the ******* le race.'

While the comment from the German legend, doesn't take anything away from any of Bayern's players, it can be seen as a bit of a nod to former Hoffenheim talent, Tom Bischof. Bischof, as many are predicting, is believed to play a much larger role for Bayern this season, and perhaps even overtake Aleksander Pavlović in the pecking order in Munich.
While Bischof's like on the post is harmless, it shows he is accepting the challenge boldly, for all to see. The 'like' shows confidence, without being arrogant, and there is clearly a friendly rivalry between Bayern's midfield. A little competition never hurt, and for Bayern, it is not a bad problem to have.

With joint practices against the New Orleans Saints finally arriving Thursday and preparations underway for Saturday's preseason opener, the Jacksonville Jaguars released their first look at the pecking order, releasing the first (unofficial) depth chart of the 2026 season on Tuesday. While the first depth chart of the year should never be treated as a final declaration of who will start in Week 1, it does provide an interesting snapshot of where several position battles currently stand.
We break down our top takeaways from the first depth chart, including what it tells us about Jacksonville's offensive line situation and which players may be making a serious push for starting roles.
Perhaps the biggest theme identified throughout the initial depth chart release is fairly straightforward: the players who were already in Jacksonville in 2025 generally remain ahead of the newcomers, for now. That doesn't mean those positions are settled. In fact, some of the most intriguing battles are just beginning. But, it does mean that much of the hoopla surrounding the initial release may not mean as much as has been made about it by the media. That's simply the blunt truth.
One of the more interesting, yet expected, developments comes at running back, where Bhayshul Tuten and Chris Rodriguez are listed as co-starters to open the offseason. Both players have generated plenty of discussion throughout the offseason, and the Jaguars appear to be keeping the competition open rather than handing the job outright to Tuten, as has been heavily expected throughout the offseason. How the workload eventually gets divided during the preseason, and what happens when the Jaguars face the Saints in joint practices, should provide a much better indication of where this battle may be headed.
Patrick Mekari is still listed ahead of Wyatt Milum at right guard, and that has understandably generated some reaction considering how Milum has performed at guard, while Mekari has been load managed with a back issue. Milum has taken a significant number of snaps at guard throughout the offseason and has looked good there. His work at tackle has been more inconsistent, although I'd describe it as generally fine. Some may look at the depth chart and wonder why Mekari remains ahead despite his limited workload. Personally, I think it's simply too early to draw any major conclusions. The biggest tests of this competition haven't happened yet.
