Michael Reschke believes Max Eberl's decision to publicly make João Palhinha, Bryan Zaragoza and Sacha Boey available for transfer did not hurt Bayern Munich's chances of getting a good deal for the three players.
Eberl was remarkably open about the trio throughout the summer, making it clear that Bayern Munich no longer planned with them and that the club was willing to let them leave.
Reschke, however, does not believe that public approach necessarily reduced their market value.
"Well, they certainly didn't become more expensive as a result. However, I ******* ume that these statements by Max were coordinated internally," Reschke told Abendzeitung.
There is an important distinction in that ******* sment. Eberl was not publicly criticizing the players or suggesting that Bayern Munich desperately needed to get rid of them. Instead, he was communicating the club's sporting plans and making it clear that there were opportunities for interested teams.

Bayern Munich sporting director Christoph Freund has confirmed that Sacha Boey could stay at the club after all.
The German champions were keen to offload the Frenchman this summer, but after a move failed to materialise before the German transfer window closed, the 25-year-old now looks increasingly likely to remain in Munich.
"The probability is now greater that he'll stay here," Freund said at a press conference on Friday.
"He's always behaved in impeccable fashion. The plan was different, but this can happen in football.
"When all transfer windows are closed and he's still here, then he'll remain a player in our squad."

Sacha Boey's future at Bayern Munich appears to be becoming clearer, and it does not seem to involve a significant role in Vincent Kompany's plans for the upcoming season.
After featuring in several of Bayern Munich's preseason friendlies, Boey was left out of the squad for the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup against Borussia Dortmund. The decision has increased speculation that the club is now actively pushing the 25-year-old toward an exit.
Max Eberl addressed the situation after Bayern Munich's victory, explaining that the club had already been transparent with Boey and the other players whose futures remain uncertain.
"We communicated clearly with the three guys (Boey, Palhinha, Zaragoza) from the start – and when you have a game like this, you take the players you're planning to use throughout the season," Eberl told Bild (via iMiaSanMia).
That explanation suggests the decision was not simply about Boey's recent performances, but rather about Bayern Munich's broader planning for the season. Boey has struggled to establish himself as a consistent starter since arriving at Bayern Munich, and the club now appears prepared to move on if the right opportunity emerges.

Friendlies are meant to test the conditions of players and give chances to those who couldn't get a lot of playing time. Misfortune seems to have beset Bayern Munich because it lost three players to injury in the Telekom Cup against RB Leipzig just before the start of the new season.
Konrad Laimer was first off when he went into a challenge with David Raum just 10 minutes into the match. Min-jae Kim was next when he exited the match during the second hydration break at 66 minutes. Jamal Musiala appeared to have collapsed from heat exhaustion just four minutes after he scored Bayern's third goal. He almost needed a stretcher for that. To add insult to injury (literally), Sacha Boey cramped up after the final whistle.
The Franz Beckenbauer Supercup is next week, and Bayern still has a friendly match against Heidenheim a few days before that. The players who got injured are all first team players, which is not something the Bavarians need before the start of the 2026/27 season. This gives Vincent Kompany a big headache, but hopefully the injuries aren't serious.

Sacha Boey may have impressed some at Bayern Munich during preseason, but board member for sport Max Eberl does not believe a strong run of performances automatically changes the bigger picture at the club.
Speaking about whether Boey could play his way into staying with the club, Eberl acknowledged the French full-back's qualities but pointed to Bayern Munich's depth at right-back.
"There's no doubt that Sacha has qualities, but when I look at the squad there's Stani and Konny at right-back. So being right-back number 3 does not do anyone justice. Yes, injuries could change things, but keeping Sacha because Konny is out for a week is wrong from a financial and sporting point of view," said Eberl (as captured by iMiaSanMia).
The comments are significant because they suggest Bayern Munich are still viewing Boey as a player who could be moved on rather than someone who has secured a place in Vincent Kompany's squad.
With Josip Stanišić and Konrad Laimer ahead of him in the right-back pecking order, Eberl believes keeping Boey as a third-choice option would not make sense unless circumstances change.

AbbVie Inc. (NYSE:ABBV) reported its first-quarter 2026 financial results, delivering worldwide net revenues of $15.002 billion, an increase of 12.4% on a reported basis (10.3% operationally). The company posted GAAP diluted EPS of $0.39 and adjusted diluted EPS of $2.65, which exceeded internal expectations despite including a $0.41 per share unfavorable impact from acquired IPR&D and milestone expenses. Grounded in this solid operational momentum, ABBV raised its full-year 2026 adjusted diluted EPS guidance range to $14.08–$14.28.
Adding to its commercial trajectory, AbbVie's Allergan Aesthetics announced on July 17 that the European Commission approved Boey (trenibotulinumtoxinE) across all 30 European Economic Area countries. Marked as the first and only rapid-onset, short-duration botulinum neurotoxin serotype E in Europe, Boey targets the temporary improvement of moderate to severe frown lines with an onset as fast as eight hours and results lasting two to three weeks. This regulatory milestone follows approval in Canada earlier in the year and expands AbbVie's high-margin aesthetic portfolio beyond traditional Botox offerings.
Following these catalysts, Wall Street **** yst revisions have turned increasingly positive. On July 22, Canaccord raised its price target on AbbVie to $282 from $273 while maintaining a Buy rating. The firm updated its financial model ahead of Q2 earnings, citing expected strength across core prescription volume trends and recent positive developmental wins.
This momentum brings up a pivotal question: Does AbbVie's successful pivot away from legacy reliance justify higher valuation multiples, or do long-term debt levels and margin pressures cap future upside?
Proponents of the bullish case emphasize AbbVie Inc. (NYSE:ABBV)'s high-performing post-Humira growth engine. Top-line expansion is overwhelmingly driven by its flagship immunology **** ets, Skyrizi and Rinvoq, which generated $4.483 billion (+30.9% reported) and $2.119 billion (+23.3% reported) in Q1 net revenues, respectively. Rapid, durable share gains across multiple indication rollouts highlight a strong product-market fit that effectively absorbs legacy biosimilar erosion.

Bayern Munich's ongoing quest to offload João Palhinha- as well as Sacha Boey and Bryan Zaragoza- reportedly got a boost via interest from Aston Villa. The Villans, who Bayern beat 2-1 in a recent friendly, have lost star midfielders Amadou Onana to an anterior cruciate ligament rupture and Youri Tielemans to Manchester United. Despite the recent addition of the impressive João Gomes, they need more personnel and Palhinha is a concrete target of theirs.
That last tidbit of news is something Damián Vidagany, Aston Villa's sporting director, confirmed to Bild reporter Nico Linner.
"We need a midfielder because Amadou Onana will be out for the entire season, and João Palhinha is a very good player who would fit our plans," Vidagany stated (as captured by iMiaSanMia). "We are in talks, but there's currently no agreement. If anything does happen, it will always be on the basis of the big respect we have for FC Bayern. Our clubs are friends, and our relationship with Max Eberl, Christoph Freund and all the other people in charge is excellent. That is why I cannot and do not want to comment on any further details."
Of course, the problem is immediately apparent. Aston Villa wish to obtain a one year stopgap until Onana returns from his unfortunate injury, while Bayern wish to offload Palhinha permanently. How the two clubs reconcile that issue remains to be seen.
Perhaps the Bavarians will be willing to acquiesce and settle for a loan deal after all. The issue with Palhinha is that the club likely amortized the €51 million transfer fee and is still paying it to this day. If any potential loan deal can cover this year's amortization as well as the player's wages, perhaps the Bavarians would be willing to accept such a deal.

Though he likely will still be departing his Bundesliga club this summer, Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany has still left the door open just a smidgen for transfer candidate Sacha Boey. The 25-year-old remains one of the players Bayern hope to move before the transfer window closes. Kompany recently backed the club's clear transfer stance on Boey and João Palhinha, acknowledging that regular playing time could prove difficult should they remain in Munich.
Boey nevertheless started Friday's 2-1 friendly victory over Aston Villa in Hong Kong as Bayern completed their Asia tour. Boey again performed well before being substituted following a heavy knock. Kompany subsequently confirmed that Boey's transfer situation remains unchanged, but offered extensive praise for how the defender has handled it.
"Sacha's situation has been clearly communicated by the club," Kompany said. "We are looking for a solution. But ultimately, one of the things that impressed me was how he trained and played. He gives everything. It was a positive performance from him."
There exists precedent for Boey forcing his way back into consideration. The former Galatasaray defender was also deemed expendable before injuries elsewhere in Bayern's defence increased his importance. Get German Football News subsequently examined whether Boey had played himself back into Bayern's plans.
Boey has again received meaningful pre-season minutes and appears to have impressed Kompany with both his performances and professionalism. Bayern may still prefer a transfer, but sufficient defensive depth remains necessary across a long campaign. Should no satisfactory offer arrive, Boey's ability to cover the right-back position could yet prompt another rethink.

Bayern Munich are hopeful that Aston Villa will make an approach for midfielder Joao Palhinha during the summer transfer window.
Palhinha has returned to Bayern after Tottenham Hotspur decided not to sign him permanently, despite him being one of their most consistent performers during his loan spell.
The Portuguese midfielder has been linked with a move to Villa, but interest appears to have cooled in recent weeks.
Palhinha, Sacha Boey, Bryan Zaragoza and Armindo Sieb are not included in the 2026-27 first-team squad on Bayern's official website, despite all four still being under contract.
This is a clear indication that the midfielder is not part of Vincent Kompany's plans.

Is Uli Hoeneß mellowing in his old age? Say it ain't so! After months of pushing for sales, the Bayern Munich legend is relieving board member for sport Max Eberl of that pressure. While Hoeneß wants to see a few sales, it is no longer a requirement for Eberl to keep his job.
"If we can now manage to move one or two players on — which is what we'd ideally like to do — that would be great. But I also want to make one thing absolutely clear: a contract with Bayern Munich is sacrosanct. That means if, in the end, no suitable solution is found, we'll keep the players," Hoeneß said.
This is pretty significant as Bayern Munich has three pretty expensive surplus players on the roster at the moment. Per Capology, João Palhinha (€12,000,000 total pay package), Bryan Zaragoza (€8,490,000 total pay package), and Sacha Boey (€4,340,000 total pay package) all carry significant financial burdens without much hope for playing time.
Another big candidate for sale is Hiroki Itō (€4,700,000 total pay package), but as the squad's fourth center-back, he — at least — has a role that would be needed and a pay package commensurate with his role.
No doubt, Eberl will still try to unload those aforementioned players (and maybe a few youngsters as well), but not feeling like he will lose his job if he cannot move those players is like a big relief.

Bayern Munich is facing a difficult situation with moving several players who are no longer in the first team plans under Vincent Kompany. Bild lays out the report, as captured by iMiaSanMia:
The situation of Bayern's out-of-favor players: João Palhinha, Sacha Boey and Bryan Zaragoza
– Palhinha has recently rejected lucrative offers from top clubs in Saudi Arabia and Turkey. Both are out of the question for the player. Palhinha is divorced and wants to see his 3 and 1 year old kids, who live in Portugal, as often as possible. Therefore Benfica and Sporting are options for him, but neither club can currently afford the high transfer fee. Aston Villa are also showing interest, but are only considering a loan with an option to buy.
-For Sacha Boey, mid-table Premier League clubs have shown interest. But Bayern are insisting on a €15m asking price
-Bryan Zaragoza is keen to return to Spain. Espanyol and Sevilla are monitoring his situation. However, there haven't been any serious talks yet, partly due to his salary of around €4m/year at Bayern
