Manchester United continue their pre-season tour of Scandinavia with a visit to Gothenburg, where they'll face reigning Champions League holders PSG.
Michael Carrick's side opened their tour with defeat to Wrexham but have responded with two wins on the bounce, including a promising 2-1 comeback victory over Atletico Madrid in Stockholm last time out, which saw Bryan Mbeumo bag a brace.
PSG represent another step up in quality, although several of their star-studded squad will still be recovering after their exploits for France at this summer's World Cup, and the French giants - still missing many of those top names - suffered a 3-0 defeat to Mallorca in the first of their pre-season friendlies.
This game against United's is PSG's second and last friendly of the summer, so it should be a more competitive affair.
Here's everything you need to know.

Manchester United and PSG meet in a pre-season friendly on Saturday at the Ullevi Stadium.
Manchester United arrive with promising pre-season form under Michael Carrick. After a narrow 1-0 loss to Wrexham in their opening friendly, the Red Devils responded emphatically. They thrashed Rosenborg 5-0 and then claimed a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Atletico Madrid in Stockholm. Carrick's team have shown attacking fluency and are gaining momentum as several senior internationals return to the squad.
Carrick welcomes back several senior internationals following their World Cup breaks.
New signing Youri Tielemans is expected to make his first official appearance for United, while skipper Bruno Fernandes and full-backs Diogo Dalot and Noussair Mazraoui have travelled and could play.
Bryan Mbeumo is likely to lead the attack after scoring twice in the 2-1 win against Atletico. But the squad also has significant absences. Marcus Rashford, Kobbie Mainoo and Lisandro Martinez remain unavailable because of required post-World Cup rest.

Manchester United entered this summer's transfer window looking to build on a promising campaign last season, in which they returned to Champions League football under the guidance of former midfielder-turned-head coach Michael Carrick.
The Red Devils' resurgence under Carrick has allowed them to rebuild their midfield with one of the league's standout players, Youri Tielemans, and to ******* the promising Andrey Santos from Chelsea's clutches.
And the attacking recruitment in previous seasons sees United well stocked with high-quality options, even if the future of Marcus Rashford has not been finalised yet.
However, options in defence are light, and reports of interest in Newcastle United's Lewis Hall will not come as a surprise to fans who are hoping for further reinforcements in this window.

Manchester United have announced a new multi-year training kit sponsorship agreement with Betway, which the club claims is the largest of its kind in global football.
While the specific financial terms of the deal have not been officially disclosed, reports suggest that Super Group, the parent company of the Betway brand, will contribute an estimated £20 million per season.
This substantial investment will see the Betway logo prominently displayed on the training kits for both United's men's and women's teams, as well as around Old Trafford and the Progress with Unity Stadium on matchdays.
The agreement follows a period last season where United operated without a training kit partner, after their previous arrangement with blockchain platform Tezos concluded.

Manchester United have announced a multi-year partnership with Betway, making the brand the club's new official training kit sponsor and exclusive global betting partner in a record-breaking deal. Michael Carrick is at Old Trafford.
The agreement, valued at £20 million per year, is understood to be the most lucrative standalone training apparel or shirt sleeve sponsorship in world football history. Having operated without a designated training wear sponsor last season, securing this agreement represents a significant commercial triumph for the Old Trafford hierarchy.
The announcement arrives at a pivotal moment for both the club and the broader football sponsorship landscape. With Premier League regulations set to ban gambling companies from appearing as front-of-shirt sponsors starting from the 2026/27 season, betting operators have shifted focus toward secondary commercial inventory—with training kit branding emerging as a primary battleground for global visibility. By securing Betway across their training apparel and digital footprint, United have successfully navigated the upcoming regulatory restrictions while maximising their commercial revenue streams.
Under the terms of the deal, Betway branding will feature prominently across all men's and women's first-team training wear, warm-up gear, and coaching staff apparel. Additionally, as Manchester United's exclusive global betting partner, Betway gains extensive co-branding rights across digital channels, LED perimeter boards at Old Trafford, and international fan engagement campaigns.
The fresh injection of £20 million in annual commercial revenue comes alongside broader financial stabilisation at Old Trafford under co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS. Coupled with income generated by returning to the UEFA Champions League, the expanded financial capacity gives manager Michael Carrick crucial flexibility as he builds his squad ahead of the new Premier League campaign.

Manchester United are considering a move for ******* nal youngster Myles Lewis-Skelly, as the Gunners close in on two top targets of their own.
The Independent report that Michael Carrick's side have a long-standing interest in the 19-year-old. United would like to bring the left-back to Old Trafford but are also targeting Newcastle's Lewis Hall.
Another exit from the Emirates is growing increasingly likely, with Christian Norgaard set to leave the Gunners for Everton. A £7 million transfer has been agreed for the 32-year-old midfielder, according to The Athletic.
The Denmark international's departure will make ******* e in midfield for the arrival of Bruno Guimaraes. The Times report that the Newcastle captain is now set to complete his medical, with an £80 million deal agreed. The Brazil international is expected to sign a five-year contract at the Emirates.
Meanwhile, Mikel Arteta's side are continuing to progress in their sensational move for Vinicius Jr. The Gunners have reportedly agreed terms with the superstar winger. Arteta insisted that his club are working "really actively" when asked about the blockbuster move.

Manchester United face Atletico Madrid at the Strawberry Arena in Stockholm on Saturday afternoon in their third pre-season fixture of the summer.
Michael Carrick has resisted the temptation to rotate heavily between friendlies, preferring to give first-team players sustained minutes as the new season approaches. Saturday's match against Atletico represents by far the sternest test of United's preparations and an important benchmark for where the squad stands heading into August.
A long list of World Cup participants remain unavailable. Bruno Fernandes, Diogo Dalot, Lisandro Martínez, Kobbie Mainoo, Matheus Cunha, Noussair Mazraoui and Marcus Rashford are all on extended post-tournament breaks and have not yet returned to Carrington.
Youri Tielemans completed his first training session at the club this week after arriving from Aston Villa in a £35m deal — but has been left out of the travelling squad for Stockholm. His debut will come in the coming days. Goalkeeper Senne Lammens is also not in the squad.
Benjamin Sesko is a major doubt with a shin injury that the club are carefully monitoring. Manuel Ugarte and Matthijs de Ligt are both sidelined with their own injury concerns and unavailable for selection. Amad Diallo has returned from his World Cup commitments with Ivory Coast and could feature in the squad.

Everton have every right to play hardball over Iliman Ndiaye. According to Mirror, the club will demand around £70m for the Senegal forward as Manchester United and Al-Hilal weigh up moves. That figure is steep, but this is the market now, and Everton are under no obvious pressure to blink first.
Ndiaye, 26, has emerged as one of the more intriguing names of the summer. He has produced "a couple of eye-catching seasons on Merseyside", and while his output of 17 goals and three ******* ists in 71 appearances does not scream elite wide forward, context matters. Everton have not exactly been a free-flowing attacking machine, so numbers alone do not tell the whole story.
United are in the mix because they need solutions on the left side. The report states that "left wing" is among their priorities, and that Michael Carrick's side have "shortlisted Ndiaye and are tracking his situation". He has apparently moved up their list after Morgan Rogers joined Chelsea for £117m and Yan Diomande signalled a preference for Real Madrid.
Photo IMAGO
Al-Hilal are also there, and this part matters. The report says Ndiaye "is open to leaving Everton and his camp would encourage a bid from the Saudi Arabian side." That changes the dynamic. If a player is receptive and a Saudi club has interest, the financial ceiling can move quickly. Everton know this, which is one reason the £70m valuation has appeared now.

Manchester United are considering a bid for Bournemouth midfielder Tyler Adams, according to talkSPORT. Man United want one more signing in the position after recruiting Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans earlier this month. Adams has been on the Red Devils' radar for a while, and a concrete move could now be on the cards. The American is loved by Man United's data department, and they want him at Old Trafford. It is believed around £40 million could be enough to get the Bournemouth star this summer.
The 27-year-old has been dubbed a 'great leader', and the Red Devils could do with his quality in the middle of the park. While the Cherries star is primarily a midfielder, he is capable of playing as a full-back on either side of the defence or midfield. Man United manager Michael Carrick is a fan of versatile players, and Adams fits the bill. The American brings much-needed experience to the table having spent four seasons in the Premier League after four seasons in the Bundesliga with RB Leipzig.

Barring 15-year-old JJ Gabriel coming in for England Under-20 striker Ethan Wheatley, who has a minor calf problem, Manchester United's 25-man squad for their first two pre-season games in Helsinki and Trondheim has stayed the same.
That surely means anyone from the academy who has a chance of breaking into Michael Carrick's senior squad consistently this season will come from that group.
It means the academy players not involved – including the likes of Gibraltar international James Scanlon, midfielder Jack Moorhouse, who spent the first half of last season at Leyton Orient, and Gabriele Biancheri, who was at Rotherham, will have to seriously consider their next moves.
Australia full-back James Overy also falls into that group.
Overy missed a lot of football with United last term after being picked for both the Under-20 World Cup and Under-23 Asian Cup.

Manchester United have expressed an interest in signing Botafogo midfielder Danilo Santos this summer, according to the BBC. Man United want a new midfielder despite bringing both Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans to the Old Trafford club. The Red Devils are now keeping tabs on Danilo, with Newcastle United also keen on bringing the former Nottingham Forest star back to the Premier League. The 25-year-old Brazil international made four appearances at the World Cup and Man United could do with his services as manager Michael Carrick eyes a specialist defensive midfielder.
Botafogo prefer to sell Danilo abroad after rejecting an offer of around £23 million, including bonuses from Verdao. The Man United target reportedly has a £17m clause for foreign clubs, which could be a big boost for the Red Devils and other European admirers. He played 50 Premier League games for the City Ground club before returning to Brazil in July 2025. Danilo has been impressing back home, with all his eight caps for Brazil thus far coming this year. His passing, relentlessness and the knack for being absolutely everywhere are some qualities of his which would come in handy at Man United.
The 6ft 2in midfielder is also physical, dynamic and technical, and he has what it takes to replace Casemiro at the Theatre of Dreams. Botafogo have also received offers of about £25m from Palmeiras and Zenit St Petersburg for Danilo, and more suitors could come calling. It is unknown whether Man United have plans to make a concrete move for him. They are exploring multiple options, including not signing another midfielder this summer, and fans will hope they make the right decisions.

Manchester United continue their pre-season schedule on Friday with an away clash against Rosenborg, marking their second friendly of the summer.
The Red Devils ended last season on a high under Michael Carrick, collecting 12 wins, three draws, and just two losses to finish third in the Premier League. Despite that impressive run, they have not carried much of that momentum into the new campaign.
Their pre-season began with an unexpected 1-0 defeat to Wrexham in Helsinki last weekend. At this stage, Carrick's main priorities remain improving match fitness and testing tactical setups, especially as several senior players are still returning gradually after participating in the World Cup.
Michael Carrick has named a 25-man squad for the trip to Norway to face Rosenborg. While several high-profile players are still unavailable following their international duties, the travelling group still includes a solid core of first-team options.
New signing Andrey Santos is likely to feature again in midfield as he continues to settle into the system. He may be joined by young talent Tyler Fletcher if Mason Mount is given a rest for this fixture.

Manchester United interested in move for £40M Tottenham defender originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The Summer transfer window has been a very busy time period for Manchester United as they look to bolster their squad ahead of the upcoming season, a campaign that will see them return to the UEFA Champions League for the first time in three seasons. This urgency has led them to acquire the likes of Andrey Santos from Chelsea and, more recently, Youri Tielemans from Aston Villa, with both moves stripping domestic rivals of some fruitful talents.
But it appears that the Red Devils' domestic hunt might not stop with those two moves, as they've looked towards North London for their next move, according to a recent report.
As reported by Ekrem Konur, Manchester United is taking a serious look at Tottenham Hotspur's Djed Spence for its next move. The Mancunian side was an apparent fan of Spence's performances with the Three Lions at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, making crucial stops throughout the English National Team's third-place finish, including a crucial tackle against Argentina in the semi-finals.
The Tottenham defender would make sense for Manchester United, as their wingback department took a hit when Tyrell Malacia walked at the beginning of the window, leaving Michael Carrick down a man in his backline. While Malacia was primarily used as a left-back, and Spence is usually slotted in the right-back spot for the Lilywhites, he is capable of playing on both sides of the pitch.

Will Man United sign Aurelien Tchouameni? Why Real Madrid midfielder now looks like attainable transfer target originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
Another year, another transfer window where Manchester United attempt to sign midfielders.
Except this time, they're actually getting them.
Michael Carrick made it clear that strengthening the heart of the team was a priority, and they have already brought in Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans. Their next target would appear to be Aurelien Tchouameni of Real Madrid.
Rumours of interest in Tchouameni surfaced before the 2026 World Cup, but nothing really came of it. However, recent reports indicate United's interest never really went away and, in fact, they may now be in a stronger position to strike what would likely be one of the biggest deals of the window — perhaps one that even rivals the fee Chelsea paid for Morgan Rogers.

Manchester United's Kobbie Mainoo has faced numerous challenges over the past two years.
After his fairytale breakout season in 2023/2024, he spent a significant amount of time injured during the following season and fell out of favour when Ruben Amorim replaced Erik ten Hag as head coach in November 2024.
Mainoo was often left on the bench and struggled to get any meaningful gametime under the Portuguese manager.
The midfielder was so unhappy with the situation that he was open to joining Italian side SSC Napoli on loan.
When Michael Carrick replaced Amorim as head coach in January of this year, Mainoo was immediately reinstated into the line-up and United's form improved, allowing them to finish third in the league.

Michael Carrick had instructed Manchester United to go out and sign at least three midfielders, as the head coach was keen on revamping the team’s engine room.
Two have arrived already, with Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans signed for a combined fee of around £85 million.
Carrick will need one more midfield addition, but the priority for INEOS is to now focus on player sales. Once that is done, the midfield search is expected to resume.
The Red Devils have already missed out on Elliot Anderson, Sandro Tonali, and Mateus Fernandes, while also cancelling the agreement for Ederson due to a failed medical.
INEOS continue to place extra emphasis on recruiting from within the Premier League, and Alex Scott has emerged as a top target.

Manchester United have revealed what number shirt Youri Tielemans will wear after his explosive capture from Aston Villa was sealed earlier today.
Having missed out on a string of primary targets in midfield, the Red Devils have been forced to pivot towards options lower down their list to fix Michael Carrick’s stalling engine room.
But in a move which has caught everyone by surprise, Manchester United launched a shock raid on Villa Park to trigger a previously unknown release clause in Tielemans‘ contract, worth £35 million.
In comparison to the prices being bandied about for other Premier League midfielders with far less of a track record than the Belgium international, it represents excellent value.
There are some concerns, mainly related to Tielemans’ age – he turns 30 next season – and injuries in recent years. However, these are offset by his outstanding quality on the pitch, as well as his attitude and leadership off it.

Manchester United fans would be forgiven for wondering where Kobbie Mainoo was when the club released a batch of images from the first day of pre-season training last week. After all, he has not played a minute at the World Cup, so where could he be?
The answer, unfortunately, is that he has spent the last six weeks warming England’s substitute bench. This, for a player of Mainoo’s calibre, is simply unacceptable and yet another blow in what has been a tricky season for the academy graduate.
While hopes are high that football might finally be coming home, Mainoo has likely given up all hope of playing a single minute in this summer’s tournament and will probably be counting the days until he can return to United and Michael Carrick, a manager who truly respects him.
Since Carrick took charge at the Red Devils in January, Mainoo has reminded everybody of the immense skills he possesses. These are skills that were, for some unknown reason, completely ignored by former United manager Ruben Amorim.
Despite having played barely any football in the first half of the season, the England international excelled after returning to the game and played a pivotal role in United qualifying for the Champions League. His incredible performances, which peaked in a goalscoring display against local rivals Liverpool, rightly attracted the attention of England manager Thomas Tuchel, who opted to include him in his World Cup squad.

Aston Villa needed a quick response in the market. Instead, they have run into another closed door. According to TeamTalk, Villa made contact with Manchester United over Mason Mount, only to be told there is no deal to be done.
That matters because Villa’s midfield picture has changed sharply. Amadou Onana’s ruptured cruciate knee ligament, suffered at the World Cup, leaves a major hole for most of the coming season. On top of that, Youri Tielemans is heading to Old Trafford after Manchester United triggered his £35m release clause. For Unai Emery, this is no minor reshuffle. It is a problem in the centre of the pitch, and it needs fixing properly.
Photo IMAGO
Mount looked like a sensible enquiry. He is 27, he knows the Premier League, and he still has the technical quality to fit into an ambitious side. His Manchester United career has been damaged by injuries since his £60m move from Chelsea in 2023, with only 72 appearances and seven goals across three seasons. Even so, the idea that United would simply wave him through never fully rang true.
He has two years left on a contract worth £250,000 a week, and the latest line is that he wants to stay and fight for his place. United, under Michael Carrick, are rebuilding parts of the midfield and clearly see Mount as someone worth keeping around for a season where Champions League football should create more demand for rotation and depth.

Manchester United have officially announced their first signing of the summer, while also wrapping up two more deals.
Andrey Santos is the first through the door, with Karl Darlow and Youri Tielemans set to follow.
It was always expected to be a busy summer for the Red Devils, with head coach Michael Carrick insisting on a midfield revamp and also calling for reinforcements out wide and up front.
However, INEOS will be well aware of the need to balance the books with player sales, with Rasmus Hojlund the only major departure so far.
Casemiro and Jadon Sancho leaving means the 20-time English league champions are saving a lot on wages, but they need more.

Manchester United have officially announced the capture of Andrey Santos from Chelsea, while two more announcements are expected soon.
Apart from the midfielder, INEOS have also sealed deals for Karl Darlow, who is set to act as backup for Senne Lammens, and Youri Tielemans from Aston Villa.
The signing of the Belgian came as a surprise, and more could be on the way, with the Red Devils planning to add at least one more midfielder, along with a left-winger, a backup striker, and a left-back.
Alongside incomings, the club is also focused on outgoings, with Marcus Rashford expected to leave despite Michael Carrick opening the door to a possible reunion.
Noussair Mazraoui has been linked with a surprise exit in recent days, and fellow defender Lisandro Martinez is the latest name to be added to the list.

Gian Piero Gasperini says that Manu Kone is ‘having a great World Cup’, and though he is aware of the fact that Roma still need to balance their budgets, he insists that there will be ‘more clarity’ surrounding the Manchester United target in the coming weeks.
Kone is enjoying a starring role with the France national team, who are among the favourites to go the distance at the 2026 World Cup.
As a result of his strong 2025-26 performances and his impressive audition on the world stage, the Giallorossi midfielder is beginning to attract interest from high-profile clubs across Europe, most recently Manchester United.
United have dropped a deal with Atalanta for Ederson, have arranged a deal for Andrey Santos from Chelsea and are in talks to sign Youri Tielemans from Aston Villa, but there is every chance that Michael Carrick looks to add a third option to a midfield department that is lacking in numbers at Old Trafford.
When asked about Kone’s status in an interview with Radio Rai 1, Gasperini said: “Kone had a great first half of the season, and then was out of action due to injury for a bit during the second half.

Youri Tielemans was only interested in joining Manchester United this summer, as being a Red Devil has been a childhood dream for the Aston Villa midfielder – a fact proven by the big-money moves he turned down elsewhere.
In the increasingly transparent transfer market, there are few deals that catch fans and reporters alike by surprise – but the £35 million capture of Tielemans is certainly one.
Having agreed to sign Andrey Santos from Chelsea for £50 million last week, after a similar £39 million arrangement was struck with Atalanta for Ederson, Manchester United were expected to be welcoming two new Brazilians to Old Trafford.
But in an explosive twist, INEOS pulled the plug on their pursuit of Ederson after a failed medical, while quickly pivoting towards Tielemans after it emerged the Belgium international had a £35 million release clause in his contract at Villa Park.
The Villans did not want to lose their 29-year-old maestro, even going as far as to offer the Europa League winner improved terms in the hope of fending off his suitors by removing the clause. But Unai Emery’s side were powerless to stop United striking a deal after they received the green light from the player, who is understood to be excited to play under Michael Carrick.

Manchester United have completed their £48m purchase of Andrey Santos from Chelsea and are closing in on the surprise signing of Aston Villa’s Youri Tielemans after a move for Ederson was put on hold.
United are set to activate a release clause and to get the Belgium captain for around £35m, in a blow to Unai Emery.
Tielemans will become the second addition in Michael Carrick’s summer midfield overhaul, with Santos’ arrival formalised and the 22-year-old putting pen to paper on a five-year contract.
United had been set to sign Brazil international Ederson from Atalanta for £35m, agreeing a fee with the Serie A club and with the intention of conducting a medical and completing the transfer in July.
Ederson was then a late call-up to Brazil’s World Cup squad and a medical was arranged in the United States which indicated an issue.

Man Utd will reportedly sign Youri Tielemans from Aston Villa after they activated the player’s release clause.
The Red Devils have moved for the Belgium international after backing out of their deal to sign Ederson Silva from Atalanta in the summer transfer window.
United have also also agreed to sign Andrey Santos from Chelsea as Michael Carrick looks to rebuild the team’s midfield following the departure of Casemiro.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Tielemans will join Man Utd after they activated the release clause in his contract with Villa, which is said to be set at £35 million (€41m).
The Midlands outfit had “no desire to sell” the 29-year-old, who is contracted until 2028, but have little choice due to the mechanism, The Athletic reports.
