The Seattle Seahawks will likely not have quarterback Sam Darnold available for at least Week 2 against the Arizona Cardinals. The Seahawks have been saying very little about safety Nick Emmanwori's recovery from offseason ankle surgery that happened in July. On Sunday, they were required to say one specific thing — whether and to what extent he practiced.
On the first official injury report of the season, Emmanwori was listed as a limited participant, due to the ankle.
The report comes one day after coach Mike Macdonald was asked whether he could characterize Emmanwori's progress over the last month and said, "Not really."

For generations of American teenagers, turning 16 and getting a driver's license has been a rite of passage—and a first taste of independence. But that milestone could soon become a thing of the past, according to Andrew Macdonald, president and chief operating officer at Uber.
"In some future world, maybe not five years, but 15 or 20 years, everyone's going to be like Harry—nobody's going to own a car," Macdonald said in a recent episode of the 20VC podcast with host and entrepreneur Harry Stebbings.
"Nobody's going to have their driver's license because you'll be able to get around. And I think bikes and scooters will be part of that. I think autonomous vehicles will be part of that. I think public transportation will be a big part of that, but I don't think you need to own a car."
That future would represent a dramatic shift for a country where car ownership has been synonymous with the American Dream. But with new vehicle prices having soared 30% over the last six years, Macdonald argued that the economics don't make sense when vehicles spend most of their time sitting unused.
"The individually owned car is the most inefficient ***** et that anyone owns, and certainly at any level of price point," Macdonald said. "It sits idle 98% of the day. It's depreciating. The ongoing operating costs are actually high—even if you're not driving it, you're paying for that insurance clip."

Arnold, 23, is facing eight felony charges stemming from allegations he orchestrated the abduction and beating of three men in February. He became a free agent in June, when the Detroit Lions released him a few days after the kidnapping, armed robbery and conspiracy charges were levied.
Arnold will not be permitted to play or practice with the Seahawks as a result of being on the exempt list, but while the league investigates his case he can be paid and attend team meetings. It is not known when he might be able to play.
The Seahawks agreed to terms with Arnold two weeks ago. Coach Mike Macdonald said at the time that the team understood the ramifications of signing Arnold.
"We also understand that it's a serious situation with a legal matter. There's a process behind it, so we respect that," Macdonald said. "That's how we'll operate, just letting that process play out and let the league decide if and when his return to play is. The season-ending injuries to Bud Clark and Jake Bobo were both shown on the broadcast, punctuating preceding segments in which we got to see Clark with his fiancee and their young son, as well as Bobo and his heart-to-heart with receivers coach Frisman Jackson.
Clark, who broke his ankle on the Seahawks' first defensive play against the Tennessee ******* ans, immediately screamed out, "My sh-t just broke!" after an audible snap could be heard as he planted his right ankle. Incredibly, through the intense pain after suffering an injury that would leave him sidelined for months, Clark kept a remarkably positive attitude as he made his way onto the cart.
"Yeah, we gravy, we gravy," Clark told the athletic trainers.
Clark later said to Coach Mike Macdonald, "Hell yeah, coach, we gravy. It hurts like a motherf—ker, though."

After a weekend in which the team lost rookie safety Bud Clark to a broken ankle, it's also been revealed that another safety is currently out of commission, albeit on a shorter timeline. ESPN's Brady Henderson reported on Sunday night that Rodney Thomas II, brought in as a free agent signing from the Indianapolis Colts, recently underwent surgery for a fractured hand.

It looks as if Jake Bobo's fourth season with the Seattle Seahawks is already over.
The fan favorite wide receiver and special teams contributor suffered what was described as a "bad-looking leg injury" during Friday's joint practice with the Tennessee ****** ans in Nashville. He was carted off after awkwardly landing on a catch attempt, and barring some very favorable imaging, that will be his last action on the field this year.
"Our heart goes out to Jake Bobo," Mike Macdonald said after practice. "Seems like it's going to be a serious knee, we're going to get it imaged, but early returns—looks like it's a long-term injury. So that's unfortunate."
Bobo re-signed with the Seahawks on a two-year deal after matching the Jacksonville Jaguars' restricted free agent offer sheet. He's functioned as the fourth or fifth option at wide receiver, doing a lot of the dirty work as a blocker and in kick and punt return coverage. His NFC Championship touchdown against the Los Angeles Rams was his only score all season and it helped Seattle get to the Super Bowl.

There's a bit of good news and not-so-good news coming out of the Seattle Seahawks' Monday practice.
On the positive side, running backs Jadarian Price and Jacardia Wright are back in pads and practicing in team drills. The potentially bad news? Second-year wide receiver Tory Horton, who missed the back-half of last season with a crackted tibia, was not part of Monday's session at VMAC.
Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald didn't have much to offer in terms of injury specifics for Horton or anyone else.
"Tory's working through some things," Macdonald said at Monday's press conference. "Yeah, not a lot of updates on the injury front right now, but they had a couple guys down today."
Horton did not play in Saturday's preseason loss versus the Dallas Cowboys, although it's unknown whether that's injury related or if he's enough of a key offensive component to not be risked for a game. NFL.com's Nick Shook has new preseason power rankings. We have to figure that the Arizona Cardinals are fairly low on the list, but let's see what the NFC West as a whole looks like, compared to the entire league.
You've heard the sound bites, read the headlines and drowned in the tidal wave of optimism. The Rams are Lombardi Trophy favorites, seemingly destined for a march to a Super Bowl that will be played in their home stadium, the same location in which they won their last ******* le. It's never that easy, of course, but GM Les Snead has built a monster in Los Angeles. With Myles Garrett trading brown and orange for royal blue and sol, Aaron Donald nearing a potential return from retirement to hop back onto the bandwagon he once captained, and Matthew Stafford coming off an MVP-winning season, this is a year the Rams go for it all. It will be up to them to make it through to the other side of a season-long gauntlet in their attempt to claim the throne.
This is no surprise. With the return of Matthew Stafford, an offense that was fantastic, and with the defensive additions of Myles Garrett and Trent McDuffie, the Rams are the team to beat in 2026.
The reigning champs lost Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker III in free agency, don't yet have his former running mate, Zach Charbonnet, available as he continues on his journey back from a torn ACL, and are placing a lot of backfield responsibility on the likes of rookie Jadarian Price and backup George Holani.
