19-year-old man arrested in Fabens shooting that killed teen
EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 19-year-old man was arrested and charged with murder after a fatal shooting in Fabens, according to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.
On Thursday, Jan. 29, deputies were dispatched to Fabens in response to a welfare check, after receiving reports of a person seeking help while covered in “blood and possibly armed with a handgun,” according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Real ID required to fly starting Sunday — or pay a fee and risk TSA delays
Airline passengers will need to show Real ID to travel starting on Sunday — at least if they want to avoid having to pay an extra fee. Air travelers who don’t have Real ID will be charged $45 under a new Transportation Security Administration policy that goes into effect on Feb. 1.
The new policy marks the next step in TSA’s effort to encourage travelers to meet its higher standards for identity verification, which went into effect earlier this year after nearly two decades of delays.

Brazil’s culture ministry has given its blessing to an art project that aims to turn Bitcoin price volatility into impromptu musical masterpieces.
The ministry has approved the project’s plans to raise $195,000 from private sector firms and donors, Brazil’s Livecoins reported.

Apparently nostalgic for the Champagne, pillbox hats and soft-lit glamour that characterized the skies in the 1950s and ’60s, U.S. Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy urged airline passengers to dress nicely and mind their manners ahead of the year’s busiest travel week.
“Are you dressing with respect?” he asked in an online video. “Are you saying please and thank you?”
Doing so, Duffy suggested, would help to usher in a new “golden age of travel” — a phrase that harks back to the mid-20th century flight

The Raiders fired Kelly on Sunday night following a 24-10 loss to the Cleveland Browns earlier in the day. Kelly had served as the Raiders' offensive coordinator since the start of the season under first-year head coach Pete Carrol. He lasted 11 games before losing his job.
