Iowa wrestler Jordan Williams has been charged with operating while under the influence, according to Johnson County court records.
This is Williams' second OWI charge, according to court documents, with the first coming in Payne County, Oklahoma, in August 2023.
The incident occurred Sept. 7. According to a police affidavit, an officer approached a vehicle that had been running with its lights on for "at least" two hours in a parking lot/garage at 180 E. Burlington St. in Iowa City. The officer found Williams unconscious with an open container of alcohol in his lap.
The police affidavit states that after Williams woke up, the officer observed an alcohol smell, slurred speech and bloodshot eyes, as well as Williams showing impairment in standardized field sobriety tests. Williams refused a preliminary breath test, according to the police affidavit.
This is Williams' second off-the-mat incident since committing to Iowa in 2025. On June 14, 2025, while Williams was publicly committed to Iowa but not yet signed, he was involved in an incident at ReUnion Brewery in Iowa City. He and his attorney later agreed to an amended plea of a simple misdemeanor charge for disorderly conduct.

Stellantis N.V. (NYSE:STLA)'s long-idled Belvidere ******* embly Plant in Illinois has been a case study for how a plant reopening can be pushed further into the future. The plant has been dormant since February 2023, when Stellantis N.V. (NYSE:STLA) ended the Jeep Cherokee production and laid off over 1,300 employees. A 2027 production target for Belvidere has now shifted, with Stellantis targeting pilot production of the next-generation Cherokee in the first half of 2028 and retail production in the second half of 2029, even as Stellantis portrays the news as a larger investment rather than a delay.
Stellantis N.V. (NYSE:STLA) announced an increase in its Belvidere investment to more than $800 million, up from a previous commitment of $600 million or more, and confirmed that the plant will produce the next-generation Jeep Cherokee on its new STLA One platform, the first vehicle built in the US on that modular design, which the company claims will improve manufacturing efficiency and reduce costs.
However, according to UAW Local 1268 president Matt Frantzen, citing internal records and talks with company executives, the updated schedule pushes pilot production into the first half of 2028, while retail production is not targeted to begin until the second half of 2029, roughly two years later than Stellantis' previous 2027 initial-production target.
The Belvidere news is a grave situation developing north of the border. Unifor, the Canadian union that represents Detroit Three autoworkers, stated that Stellantis N.V. (NYSE:STLA) has signed an MOU with Canadian armored-vehicle maker Roshel outlining a potential sale of its Brampton, Ontario ******* embly plant, which has been idle since 2023. According to union president Lana Payne, Stellantis N.V. (NYSE:STLA) has yet to provide the official year's notice required by the collective agreement. Payne described it as a "lose-lose scenario," claiming Stellantis' 2023 commitment to keep Brampton staffed had been broken.
The two stories are directly related. Brampton had been scheduled to build the Jeep Compass, with retooling beginning in early 2024 before Stellantis N.V. (NYSE:STLA) paused it in 2025 and then, that October, moved Compass manufacturing to the US completely, the same reassignment that sent the model to Belvidere.

With former Bearcats and NFL stars Jason and Travis Kelce, Connor Barwin and Brent Celek on hand, the University of Cincinnati football squad extended its home-opening winning streak to 25 games on Sept. 5, bashing Boston College 34-15.
The game was a slow grind with UC holding leads of 3-0 after one quarter and 10-0 at halftime. It was 24-0 late in the third quarter before Boston College scored and a late touchdown pass with just over a minute to go cut the Eagles' final deficit to 19.
In the UC vs. Boston College game preview, The Enquirer predicted 200-plus running yards.
Outcome: The Bearcats ran for 254 yards, with fifth-year player Gi'Bran Payne, who ran for 108. The last UC player to surpass 100 yards on the ground was Tawee Walker last Nov. 15 against Arizona.
We also said the Bearcats would pass for more than 200 yards.

The Washington Commanders open the 2026 NFL season in 10 days. Washington goes on the road for the first two games against NFC East foes Philadelphia and Dallas. It's a rough stretch to open the season for the Commanders, and being as close to 100% healthy is critical.
We know Washington will be without star left tackle Laremy Tunsil (torn triceps) and defensive tackle Johnny Newton (torn pec). The Commanders have the depth to withstand Newton's loss, but you can't replace someone of Tunsil's caliber. He's a Hall-of-Fame talent and remains one of the NFL's best at his position.
The good news for Washington is it has Brandon Coleman. While Tunsil's injury takes Coleman away from the left guard position, the third-year lineman has experience playing left tackle. He was the Commanders' left tackle during their 12-5 2024 season. He also had three starts in Philadelphia: two in his rookie year and one last season.
How healthy are the Commanders everywhere else? Over the past few days, they've gotten much healthier. Several key players have returned to practice, including Daron Payne, Marcus Mariota, Jacory Croskey-Merritt, K'Lavon Chaisson and others. Croskey-Merritt and Chaisson returned in each of the past two days.
Quinn gave an update on some of those players before the team broke for a long weekend.

As Houston Texans receiver Tank Dell continues to work to return from a devastating injury that sidelined him nearly two years ago, what's missing in his recovery, according to Nick Caserio, is the top-end speed that made him such an effective weapon his first two seasons in the league.
Dell was one of the many topics covered by the Texans general manager in his 45-minute appearance Wednesday morning on 95.7 The Fan's "Payne & Pendergast."
Dell, who tore his ACL, MCL, LCL and other ligaments during a game at Kansas City in December 2024, returned for training camp last month, but will open the season on injured reserve, meaning he isn't eligible to return until Week 5 at the earliest.
Caserio said the 5-foot-9, 165-pound receiver has had some "minor setbacks, nothing significant" during his recovery, but was more specific about the man who ran a 4.49 40-yard dash at the combine hoping to return to the speed that made him so successful.
"We all saw what Tank did his first two years in the league and he made a lot of electric plays. Whether or not he can get to that same level of performance, we'll find out," Caserio said. "But overall, he's definitely making progress. I'd say it's more minor tweaks than anything else and I think he'll be able to build his capacity and maybe some of his high-speed, long-distance running and then see if we can get him to 20-21 mph and the running speeds he was running before the injury."

Nearly two years after the One Direction member's death, the influencer honoured her late boyfriend on what would have been his 33rd birthday.
"Your birthday will always be your day," Cassidy wrote in an Instagram post alongside a carousel of sweet photos of herself and Payne. "Loving you, remembering you, missing you always. happy birthday Liam."
Cassidy also shared a TikTok video of herself reflecting on her bond with the late singer as she prepared a birthday cake.

Tampa Bay must trim its roster to 53 players by Sunday evening, and while many of the decisions will involve players who entered training camp fighting uphill battles, the Buccaneers' improved depth could also lead to a few surprising names being left off the initial roster. Here are three players who could find themselves on the wrong side of the numbers.
Of all the potential cuts, Sean Tucker would probably be the most surprising. Tucker has shown he can produce when given opportunities, and he led Tampa Bay with eight touchdowns last season. He also brings value on special teams and has averaged 5.1 yards per carry over his first three NFL seasons. The issue is Josh Williams's emergence and the $3.5 million price tag Tucker carries. That's quite the price for an RB3, especially with Bucky Irving and Kenny Gainwell firmly established as Tampa Bay's top two backs. Tucker and Williams are competing for one spot unless the Buccaneers keep four running backs. Todd Bowles admitted Saturday that the competition went "back and forth" throughout the preseason and called it a tough decision. Williams getting offensive snaps ahead of Tucker during the preseason finale was also noteworthy. Tucker's track record makes him difficult to move on from, but roster construction and cost could ultimately work against him.
Payne Durham has been a regular part of Tampa Bay's offense over the past three seasons, but the changing makeup of the tight end room could put him in a more vulnerable position than expected. Cade Otton remains entrenched as the starter, while rookie Bauer Sharp has continued to make a case for a role. Even though he has shown more than his more direct competition, Devin Culp, Ko Kieft being healthy adds another body to the room who contributes on both offense and special teams. Durham's biggest argument is his blocking. At 6'6 and 253 pounds, he has provided the Buccaneers with a physical presence at the position and has experience playing meaningful offensive snaps. But if Tampa Bay believes Sharp can eventually handle some of those responsibilities while offering more upside, Durham could become an unexpected casualty of the numbers game.
Josh Hayes has survived Tampa Bay's final cuts in each of the past three seasons largely because of his special teams ability, but this could finally be the year his roster spot becomes vulnerable. Hayes has been one of Tampa Bay's most consistent special teams contributors and has also provided emergency depth in the secondary. But Tampa Bay has added more young talent to its secondary, creating a situation where the Buccaneers could prioritize upside at cornerback rather than keep a player primarily for his special teams role. Ayden Garnes and "Pepe" Williams have made the most of their opportunities with the starting corners dealing with injuries and have turned conversations of the corner room being a weakness to being one of their strengths. Hayes' experience and value in the kicking game still giv

Since his DUI arrest in March, golf legend Tiger Woods has largely remained out of the public spotlight. He was involved in a rollover crash in South Florida while allegedly driving under the influence, with opioid tablets in his pocket after the crash.
Woods went to rehab in Switzerland following his arrest, before returning in May.
The 50-year-old Woods has rarely been seen since returning to the United States, but this week he made an appearance in a pre-recorded video for former pro golfer Notah Begay during the Payne Stewart Award ceremony.
Once the video surfaced online thanks to the Golf Channel, some fans expressed concern about his appearance, while others were happy to see the icon back in the spotlight. One user wrote, "Tiger looks a shell of his former self sadly," while another, "He looks normal. Off the steroids and painkillers hopefully."

Not everything went well for the Washington Commanders on Friday night.
Yes, the Commanders defeated the Dolphins 20-7 at Northwest Stadium. Yes, the Commanders were clearly the better team on the field during quarters two, three, and four. However, that first quarter wasn't a thing of beauty. That first quarter actually raised some eyebrows and questions for Commanders fans.
Good grief, the Dolphins put themselves in a hole to start the game when they held on the opening kickoff, so their possession began at their own seven-yard line. The Dolphins then drove 93 yards in 14 plays and seven minutes, putting the ball in the end zone. What was frustrating about the drive was that the Commanders had some players out there, like Johnny Newton, who weren't doing their jobs effectively.
Newton was drafted with the No. 36 overall selection in the 2024 NFL Draft, and he really needs to step it up and justify his being selected as high as he was. The Dolphins, meanwhile, appeared to really push around Newton and the defensive linemen as a whole on that initial drive. On the drive, the Dolphins had runs of 5, 14, 5, 6, 7, 6, 3, 1, and 1 yard (touchdown).
Daron Payne is another defensive tackle who hasn't exactly set the NFL world on fire since the 2022 season. Payne is in the final year of his lucrative contract, and with Newton being as disappointing as he has been, Commanders GM Adam Peters may want to really overhaul the position next offseason.

Vanderbilt football's deepest position may be at safety. At least players at the position believe so.
There's a good blend of returners and new talent. CJ Heard is back after co-leading the team with 71 tackles a year ago. While Marlen Sewell and Randon Fontenette are gone, Dontae Carter, Carson Lawrence and Jalen Gilbert return after being reserves at the position in 2025.
Davin Chandler could be a breakout candidate after appearing in one game as a freshman. Then there's Clemson transfer Ricardo Jones, who had six interceptions a year ago and was a All-ACC third team selection.
"My goal here is to get that plus more every year," Jones said Aug. 11.
The safeties are simultaneously young and experienced. There are only two seniors at the position − Gilbert and Payne Daniel − and no fifth-year players. But the group has plenty of starting experience.

Welcome to Day 8 of Denver Broncos training camp.
It was great to see the Broncos running game finally get going in Friday's padded practice, but with the caveat that Malcolm Roach, Alex Singleton, and Brandon Jones were all on vet days. That might have played a factor in opening up the run game for the offense yesterday. Even so, both JK Dobbins and rookie Jonah Coleman had big runs during the session. It has been a grueling week of practice, so I am sure the players will be looking forward to Sunday's day of rest after Saturday's practice.
Scotty Payne will update this post from the live camp practice session today.

Welcome to Day 5 of Denver Broncos training camp.
After back-to-back intense practices with the pads on, the defense came away with the upper hand in both of those days. The offense has made some big plays of their own, but they have yet to establish a consistent output against one of the NFL's best defenses. I hope to see that change a bit to help the offense find some measure of confidence and chemistry ahead of the first preseason game next week.
Scotty Payne will keep you updated from the live practice with posts below as I won't be fully back in action until next week either.

Mohammad Amir's new British citizenship could create a fresh complication for the Pakistan fast bowler ahead of the 2027 Pakistan Super League (PSL). Although Amir played as a domestic cricketer in the PSL until last season, he is now expected to be treated as an overseas player.

Amir spoke about the change during an appearance on Wisden's The Scoop Extended, revealing that his new citizenship status would affect how he is classified in the PSL. His British citizenship was confirmed in June after Nottinghamshire signed him for the 2026 Vitality Blast.

The move has already allowed Amir to be treated as a domestic player in English competitions. He also played for Trent Rockets in the 2026 edition of The Hundred after replacing David Payne.
The situation is different in Pakistan. Amir is expected to be classified as an overseas player in the PSL, meaning any team wanting him will have to use one of its foreign-player slots.

Amir played for Rawalpindi in PSL 2026 after being bought for PKR 5.4 crore in the league's first auction. He was among the team's major signings alongside Naseem Shah and Daryl Mitchell.

The change could create a problem because players retained or bought before PSL 2026 were given two-year contracts covering the 2026 and 2027 seasons. Under the PSL auction rules, teams can retain up to seven players for PSL 12, while released players return to the auction pool.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has not yet clarified whether Rawalpindi can keep Amir under his existing deal after his status changes. The team may have to release him, renegotiate his contract or use an overseas-player slot to retain him.

Reports suggesting that PSL 2027 could be Amir's final season have not been confirmed by the cricketer, PCB or Rawalpindi.

For now, what is clear is that Amir holds a British passport, is treated as a domestic player in England and is expected to be an overseas player in the PSL. A formal PCB clarification on his Rawalpindi contract is still awaited.

Training camp began this week for the New York Jets and there is plenty of optimism surrounding the team in 2026. By most accounts, the team had a terrific offseason adding quality veterans with familiarity playing for head coach Aaron Glenn and also set themselves up for a nice future with their 2026 NFL draft class at key positions.
Jets Wire will break down each position and focus on key matchups as well as discuss a player that has plenty to prove to this coaching staff in 2026. For our next position breakdown, we will look at safety, which received a much needed facelift after a brutal season from the secondary as a whole last year:
Andre Cisco was the big move of last offseason as the Jets hoped a change of scenery to his hometown would help him bounce back after a disappointing final year in Jacksonville. But, Cisco was brutal in coverage and suffered a season-ending injury that really hurt the Jets depth.
Tony Adams had another up and down season, although he wasn't as bad in coverage as many believed. Fourth-round pick Malachi Moore had a season expected of a rookie. A few highs with quite a bit of lows. General manager Darren Mougey didn't invest many resources into this position and it left them exposed for the second half of the season.
Minkah Fitzpatrick, Malachi Moore, Andre Cisco, Dane Belton, VJ Payne (Rookie), Dean Clark

Welcome to Day 3 of Denver Broncos training camp.
The first two days of camp have been fairly competitive with both sides of the ball getting the upper hand at times.
"It's been a competitive first couple of days, offense and defense, which is what you want to see," quarterback Bo Nix said on Saturday. "Both sides of the ball have been making a lot of plays. It's just a fun time right now."
One thing that has come up in both days so far has been the explosive plays on offense. Nix has been finding big plays with a variety of receivers, but so have the backup quarterbacks. Where the defense has come up big has been in shutting things down as the field gets shorter. That competition is going to help both units get better at performing well in games.
This is exciting to see early in camp. I am still traveling, so Scotty Payne will be covering the live updates again for me today. Go Broncos!

Liam Payne's behavior reportedly grew increasingly erratic during the final hours of his life, with newly obtained witness statements offering one of the most detailed accounts yet of what unfolded before his fatal fall. Two women who spent several hours with the former One Direction singer on October 16, 2024, described the condition of his Buenos Aires hotel room, his alleged substance use, and the troubling escalation they witnessed before leaving shortly before 4 p.m. Payne died just 67 minutes later after falling from the balcony of his third-floor room at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel. He was 31.
Bruno Marzi / MEGA
According to sworn statements obtained by the Daily Mail, Aldana Serrano and Lucila Goitea arrived at the CasaSur Palermo at approximately 11:30 a.m. after Payne allegedly contacted Serrano through an escort website. Serrano initially questioned whether she was actually communicating with the world-famous singer and reportedly asked him to prove his identity.
"Liam contacted me via WhatsApp today (October 16, 2024) around 11 am. The whole time he spoke to me in English. He told me who he was and he sent me a video of him. The video wasn't current; it was him singing," she told investigators. "He also sent me pictures of him which he took while he was in bed, before we got there."
The hotel reportedly collected the women's identification before allowing them to enter room 310, enabling authorities to locate them quickly following Payne's death. "He was alone in his room. He greeted us warmly and I asked him for payment. We tried to communicate, but it was difficult because he only spoke English and I only Spanish," Serrano recalled.

Daron Payne isn't the longest-tenured Commanders player. Punter Tress Way holds that **** le.
The defensive tackles has been around the block a few times now, entering his ninth season in Washington. The Alabama product has seen some things during that time.
He has been to the playoffs twice, including 2024's deep postseason run. Results, however, have largely been unpleasant. Payne has experienced just one winning season (in 2024) since being selected No. 13 overall in the 2018 NFL draft.
Payne has worked with four defensive coordinators and five defensive play callers heading into this season, when Daronte Jones now taking control.
As someone who has been to the puppet show and seen the strings, we can trust Payne when he says something feels different in the best possible way.

Welcome to Day 2 of Denver Broncos training camp.
After an exciting first day of camp where we saw some big plays from the offense and red zone dominance by the defense, both sides of the ball had their successes and setbacks on Friday. Bo Nix is looking sharp as ever too. Day 2 figures to bring some more excitement as the weekend fan attendance tends to be a bit more electric.
Scotty Payne will be updating this post today as I'll be braving the eastern Oregon wildfires to find a path to the Redwood Coast this week. I'll face any danger for some fresh air at this point. Wish me luck and I'll be back at it on my laptop after this (hopefully) nine hour already-detoured drive.

UFC star Jon Jones posted a video of him killing a pig in 2021 and that led allegedly to a long message from Formula 1 legend Lewis Hamilton.
Jones was living life after vacating his UFC light heavyweight ***** le at the time — and bulking up to eventually move to heavyweight — when he went on a helicopter ride to shoot at pigs alongside former rangers. Hamilton, who had just won just 7th world championship in Formula 1 months prior, apparently didn't like it.
"I went hunting years ago with bunch of army rangers, and we ended up hunting pigs from a helicopter from using AR-15s," Jones said in an interview with ALF Global. "I was so proud of myself 'cause I killed one of the pigs from the helicopter. My pig was donated to an underprivileged family in the community."
"But Lewis saw me shoot the pig from a helicopter," he continued. "He wrote me a long message saying that I was a coward, and that he thought that I was better than that. He said that the traditional way of killing animals should be with a spear or a bow and arrow. And he was saying like, only a coward would shoot an animal from an helicopter, to give the animal a chance to fight you back, at least."

Kate Cassidy has removed one of her tribute tattoos to Liam Payne.
On Tuesday, the social media influencer took to Instagram to share a picture from Skin Club Miami laser studio. She captioned the mirror selfie, "tattoo removal today."
She followed the post with a video of the tattoo removal process, which extracted her "444" tattoo. The piece was initially done as a tribute for Liam after his death in October 2024. It represented the couple's angel number that meant love and support.
Along the video, the influencer clarified she "decided to get some tattoos removed that were done poorly," however, she "will be getting redone eventually."
The influencer had several tattoos done in honor of Liam. She also has one of angel wings and his initials, "LP," on her wrist.

Matt Payne streaked clear in his Grove Racing Ford Mustang to dominate the second Supercars race at Townsville in an otherwise exciting contest on Saturday.
Payne started the 68-lap race from second and, after the first pit cycle played out, found himself 11 seconds clear of any of the challengers.
His lead was beyond 10 seconds for all of the second half of the race, so large that at one stage, he discussed with his engineer their tyre strategy for Sunday's 200km outing.
Payne's cause was ******* isted significantly when Brodie Kostecki's crew had a problem getting his left-rear wheel changed at his first pit stop and by the time he regained the track, he had lost four places.

As a follow-up to the top 10 list of players we put out over the last few weeks, I wanted to give you my top 13 players on our squad, and my reasoning behind why I ranked each player where I did. These rankings did factor into the overall rankings you saw over the last few weeks, but Scott Bair promised you a Tyler’s Take with my thoughts – so here it is!
Editor’s note: We’ll count down the top 10 Commanders players on the 2026 roster regardless of position sporadically over the next few weeks. Before we get to it, here’s how we arrived at the ranking: Our Scott Bair, Scott Jennings and Mark Tyler compiled a top 13 – no ranking was identical — with points ****** igned to each ranking slot from all three lists. We used these point values to form a consensus top 10 ranking. We’ll write a story on each member of the top 10 and another on others receiving votes at the end. Plus, Mark will probably have a Tyler’s Take with his thoughts. You’ll surely object to some of these rankings, though debate is kind of the point with lists like this. Today we focus on No. 1:
Our roster rankings: 10. Leo Chenal | 9. Chig Okonwko | 8. Nick Cross | 7. Sam Cosmi | 6. Sonny Styles | 5. Daron Payne | 4. Odafe Oweh | 3. Terry McLaurin | 2. Jayden Daniels | 1. Laremy Tunsil
13. P Tress Way: I know punters don’t get enough credit (and I’m guilty of this too), but Way is fantastic at what he does!
12. DL Javon Kinlaw: It may not have shown up on tape a lot last season, but Kinlaw was often double-teamed yet still held his own on a very poor front seven. I think he’ll show out in this new, attacking scheme.

STILLWATER — Oklahoma State men’s basketball player Kashie Natt is permitted to fully rejoin the program after a Payne County judge signed an ex parte order Monday, according to On3.
An ex parte order is a temporary court order issued by a judge at the request of one party without notifying or hearing from the opposing side first.
Natt, a transfer from Sam Houston State, requested on Monday, June 29, that a judge in Payne County grant an injunction so he can play in the upcoming season after his eligibility waivers were canceled by the NCAA.
