Billionaire Mark Cuban reveals how the nation's wealthiest can send the elevator back down and help Americans at every income level build wealth.
In a recent interview with Sarah McCammon on the "What It Takes" podcast, Cuban shared his views on AI, healthcare, and income inequality in America. The former "Shark Tank" investor, who, according to the Bloomberg Billionaire Index, has a net worth of $10.2 billion, said that one of the best ways to tackle income inequality is to give employees company stock.
"I would like to see it so that every single CEO/founder/entrepreneur does what I did, which was to give equity to every single employee," said Cuban. "Every company I've ever sold, I've given money to every single employee. Every time."

Mark Cuban sees another massive workplace shift coming, and it could impact how Americans build careers.
The billionaire investor of 'Shark Tank' fame believes AI could now play a much bigger role in how workers deal with challenging situations, sharpen their judgment, and prepare for more valuable work.
In turn, that allows businesses to train people a lot quicker and at a far lower cost.
Cuban is among the select group of investing giants who remain broadly optimistic about AI. He feels that businesses that embrace AI will become much more productive, while workers who use it will still find opportunities.
Nevertheless, that prediction underscores an uncomfortable trade-off.

Mark Cuban is expanding his sports portfolio.
Harbinger Sports Partners, the private equity firm backed by the former Dallas Mavericks majority owner, has purchased a minority stake of undisclosed size in the Athletics ahead of their move to Las Vegas, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal's Mick Akers.
The A's are expected to complete the move in 2028. This deal is part of the team's reported effort to raise $550 million in investment money to help build a planned $2 billion stadium on the Las Vegas strip.
Other investors include $100 million (plus a $75 million capital expenditure) from stadium concessions company Aramark Sports + Entertainment and $70 million from a South Korean group that includes BTS member Suga and Chan Ho Park.
The Athletics were evaluated by Forbes to be worth $2 billion in its most recent MLB valuations, making them the 18th most valuable team in baseball.

Making millions of dollars sounds like a dream, but Mark Cuban says it can disappear much faster than people think.
In a 2024 appearance on the "Club Shay Shay" podcast, the billionaire entrepreneur explained that many professional athletes make the same costly mistakes after signing their first big contract.
His advice was simple: "Save your money." Cuban said young players should resist the temptation to spend freely because an NBA career can end in an instant. "One broken ankle and it's over," he said. If he were entering the league today as a player fighting for a roster spot, he said he would still be "living like a student" because "you don't know how long it's going to last."

LAS VEGAS (AP) — An investment group that includes ex-Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban has bought a minority stake in the Athletics in anticipation of their move to Las Vegas in 2028.
Thursday's announcement by Harbinger Sports Group did not say what percentage of the Athletics it had acquired. Cuban, who maintains a minority stake in the Mavericks, is the general partner and president of the Atlanta-based group. Atlanta Falcons minority owner Rashaun Williams is the founder and chief investment officer.
Co-founder and CEO Steve Cannon is vice chairman of AMB Sports and Entertainment that oversees Mercedes-Benz Stadium and the Atlanta Falcons. Managing partner Jonathan Mariner is the former chief financial officer for Major League Baseball.
"We are minority investors looking to make our investors a lot of money," Cuban said.
John Fisher is the majority owner of the A's and is overseeing construction of a $2 billion, 33,000-capacity domed stadium on the Las Vegas Strip.

Mark Cuban joked that pickleball players could be unlikely winners from the AI buildout.
He quipped that if better AI makes some data centers obsolete, they could be turned into courts.
Cuban said the AI boom isn't another dot-com bubble but could "destroy" VCs, funds, and PE firms.
Mark Cuban joked that the AI buildout could result in pickleball fans having plenty more venues to choose from.
The tech billionaire said during the latest episode of the "All-In" podcast that if AI models and data centers become more efficient over time, much of the computing capacity being built today will become redundant.

Juan Hernandez joined ****** eX in 2015 as a welder making $28 an hour. The company offered him $10,000 in stock alongside his wages. He accepted without giving it much thought. He'd never been offered equity at any job before and didn't really know what to do with it.
When ****** eX went public this year at a $1.77 trillion valuation, Hernandez's 6,500 shares were worth just over $1 million, according to CBS News. He now works at Blue Origin. He's teaching his kids how to invest.
Mark Cuban saw that story and said it should be the rule, not the exception.
"I would like to see it so that every single CEO, founder, entrepreneur does what I did, which was to give equity to every single employee," Cuban said on the "What It Takes" podcast. "The way you're going to reduce income inequality for anybody who works with somebody is making sure they get shares of stock, and then they benefit."
He's not just theorizing. Cuban gave equity to all 330 employees at Broadcast.com before Yahoo bought it for $5.7 billion in 1999. About 300 of them became millionaires. He did the same at his first company, MicroSolutions.

While the artificial intelligence (AI) frenzy may have cooled, the fire still burns bright. The investment theme is no longer about picking every AI-related stock. Instead, investors are now becoming more selective and are rewarding businesses that are turning surging demand into real revenue, profits, and long-term growth. With this shift in market sentiment, AI infrastructure winners like Marvell Technology (MRVL) and Broadcom (AVGO) continue to stand out.
Marvell Technology is a semiconductor company that designs the chips used in data centers, cloud computing, AI infrastructure, networking, storage, and telecommunications. As hyperscale customers continue to invest aggressively in AI infrastructure, Marvell Technology is entering a stronger growth cycle, which is why investors are pouring money into the stock. MRVL stock has surged an impressive 131% year-to-date (YTD), massively outpacing the broader market.

The S&P 500 ($SPX) has delivered a solid performance so far this year, but a small group of stocks has left the broader market far behind. Only 14 companies in the benchmark index have posted year-to-date (YTD) gains of more than 100%, highlighting just how concentrated this year's biggest winners have been. Unsurprisingly, many of these top performers are tied to semiconductors, data storage, and other areas benefiting directly from the continued expansion of artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure.
However, a triple-digit rally does not necessarily mean a stock's best days are behind it. The more important question for investors is whether the fundamental catalysts behind those gains remain intact—and which of these high-growth names still offers the most attractive upside through the remainder of the year. After reviewing the names on the list, Micron Technology (MU) stands out as my favorite.

Memory and storage giant Micron Technology (MU) has been one of the standout beneficiaries of the artificial intelligence (AI) boom, delivering massive triple-digit gains so far in 2026. Now, the red-hot chip stock is back in focus after the company announced a series of strategic customer agreements aimed at expanding its presence in the rapidly evolving automotive technology market. On Thursday, Micron revealed strategic customer agreements (SCAs) with several major automotive and technology players, including Qualcomm (QCOM), Visteon (VC), Harman, JOYNEXT, Denso, Astemo, and Hyundai Mobis.
The partnerships come as increasingly connected and intelligent vehicles require more advanced memory and storage solutions to power everything from sophisticated infotainment systems to AI-enabled features. Micron Chairman, President, and CEO Sanjay Mehrotra emphasized that memory and storage will play an increasingly important role as vehicles become smarter and more technologically advanced. He noted that the new agreements should help ensure next-generation automotive platforms have the capabilities needed to support richer, safer, and more intelligent in-vehicle experiences. With Micron already riding strong AI-driven demand and now deepening its ties across the automotive ecosystem, could this latest development add another catalyst to MU stock?
